Avoid renting Budget Truck Rental unless this is your only option . Really terrible customer…read moreservice. I made a reservation and it wasn't honored . I showed up 30 mins before my scheduled pick up time however the business was closed . When I called the 800 number I made the reservation through they said that " reservation is not a guarantee" I was so shocked at what they had to say . The only thing they kept repeating is that their inventory manager would call me back in 15 min to 2 hours however that never happened . Don't preplan your trip assuming that you have a reservation and they would be holding a truck for you .

We were scheduled to arrive in Reno late Saturday night and we stayed in a hotel for the night. The Rent A Wreck outlet was closed on Sunday, so arrangements were made for the key to be hidden and I'd be able to pick the car up. I was told I'd have to send scanne images of my drivers license and credit card. I called 4 days before arriving and spoke to Jerry, who was reluctant to give me his name. I told him i was ready to send the email, but asked if there was a way to avoid sending an image of the credit card. I have been the victim of identity theft and emails get hacked - I offered to provid my card number overthe phone so they could process the charge. Jerry (real name Ali, as confirmed by their head office) told me he'd have to check with head office, but he was 99.9% sure they would not accept that. He said if he didn't call back in an hour, the answer was no. I then asked him to simply call me to let me know. He then said "I'm not renting you the car" . I asked "why, all I did was ask you a question"? He said "you phoned here 6 times and argued with me" (this was completely untrue). I offered to send the card image, but he said no. I asked to speak to the owner and he said "I'm the manager - I make the decision". I then asked for the phone nmber for their head office ut he would not supply it. I found it online, called and spoke to a woman who agreed this should not have happened, gave me a case number and promised a senior erson would call me back within a day, but nobody called back. I ultimately rented from Enterprise. This was my Seinfelt moment "no soup for me" from Ali. Save yourself the aggravation - this company has no corporate integrity. They may be cheap, but they don't follow any of the rules of normal business behaviour. Who cancels a ar rental on a whim? Ali does.

I reserved a 10 ft truck with Justin and went to pick it up today. The truck was clean, air conditioning and the radio worked great. The truck was easy to drive too!! I also rented 6 blankets for 5.00. The store was clean and the service was great. Pricing was fair. Thanks to all the many staff who check people in and clean and manage all the trucks. I will be renting a bigger truck soon for the move to my new home. U Haul is a great way to rent a truck, Van or trailer for those small or large moves. Rented a moving truck from this Budget location and the ramp was completely broken and unusable. I…read morereported it right away, but we were already in the middle of our move with movers on the clock, so we couldn't afford to drive across town to swap trucks. Because the ramp didn't work, my movers had to carry everything by hand, which added a lot of time and extra cost that I would not have had if the truck was in proper working condition. When we returned the truck, the franchise owner was dismissive and rude. He said "things break" and implied there was no way they would rent the truck out like that, instead of taking responsibility. He was also disrespectful toward my wife while we were calmly trying to resolve the situation. After all of that, he only offered about $50 off, which doesn't come close to covering the inconvenience and additional labor costs caused by renting out a truck with a broken ramp. I'm now escalating this to Budget corporate. Customers shouldn't have to pay full price (plus extra moving costs) for equipment that doesn't work and then be treated poorly when they ask for it to be made right.
