When we tried to play the CD's in our high-end Marantz SA-11S1 audio player, it would not recognize any of the disks. Usually, we can insert CD's that look like they've been drug down the street and scratched badly, and they still play, but it would not play any of these. Nor would the CD players in our cars would recognize them. We checked the internet. There is a known issue with this Box set. We attempted to return it, we didn't wish for cash back; store credit would have been fine. But we were refused. We have been customers with Music town for over 40 years, and never once have tried to return anything. Anytime we walked in we would often spend over $1000. We enjoyed shopping there. Unfortunately, this is NOT how you treat your VIP customers. Or ANY customer. Stand behind what you sell or GTFO of the business. James would have never refused to compensate with at least store credit. We are very disappointed with the new owners. We left the un-working box set there and left. We will not be back. I used to go to this shop back when it was in Seabrook. They have a ton of comics back stock and rare items on the wall. They also do some good sales for back issues and books etc for a good price. Final Edge has a decent selection and I have found a few hidden gems there. Most of the pricier records, I already have in some form so I'm just going in there looking for bargain bin records or collections. The last time I walked out of there, I believe I had 10 records for $4. If I'm not careful, I could spend hours in here just looking through records. One of the best selling points and features of Piranha is that for every $20 spent, you get a $1 wooden coin back, so you get a 20:1 ratio of money back on all purchases. After Record Store Day last year, I pulled up after failing to grab a copy of the Blue Notes Alts n Ins record, and the owner gave me props for grabbing it because he personally thought it was one of the coolest releases in the collection. He asked if I had come there just to buy it or stumbled upon it. I told him I was seeking it out, and I got the nod of approval. Best day of my life. With the bag on and the strap completely stretched out it barely hit her hip. We walked right back into the store to return it. They do not do returns and there are absolutely zero signs stating this. The person working today was glued to her phone so didn't hear when we originally asked for help. I told her that it's sketchy not to have signs posted stating that they don't do refunds. She said that she just works there. I then ask for a number to someone that can assist in getting signs posted. She doesn't have a number. Convenient. I then say if you have an issue with your paycheck who do you call. She stated my boss. I said perfect I'll call that number. She stated she would not give me her bosses number. I said ok then you can message them and tell them you have a disgruntled customer and have them call the store. She flat out refused to help. I had to call an entirely different store to try and get changes made. It's fishy not to have signs posted about no refunds. We have been into this store MANY times and have bought many things here.
