Pretty solid meal! My favorite menu item was the tuna tostada for sure, but everything else was pretty solid. I also really enjoyed that our server plated our food for us and everything came out in a timely manner. 5 dishes for 4 people was a good amount of food, and even left us room to try 2 desserts there. The key lime pie was delicious but a little heavier than I anticipated and the coconut flan was a little too sweet for me, but alternating bites between the 2 worked well for me. Definitely worth a try if you find yourself in CDMX.
Tuna tostadas were delicious. The contramar snapper dish was also delicious - very juicy and the adobo rub is only mildly spicy which is my threshold. The parsley sauce was perfecto. I did not know it comes with tortillas and a black bean sauce (almost a puree) but the waiter will help you make the taco. We also got the linguine clams which came with plenty of clams. You can tell they added a lot of butter to the linguine! Staff spoke English and gifted us a hat before we left. Not sure why but it was a nice gesture!
From start to finish, everything we ordered at Entremar was absolutely delicious. I genuinely cannot find a single negative thing to say about the food. Every dish was fresh, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. The restaurant itself has a lively atmosphere with a two-story seating area. Just something to note for accessibility: the upstairs dining area is only accessible by stairs, as there is no elevator. There is also outdoor seating available when the weather permits, which I imagine would be a great option on a nice day in Mexico City. Service was excellent. Our waiter was incredibly attentive and made the entire experience feel welcoming and seamless. One thing that stood out was how easily he alternated between English and Spanish to accommodate our table. He was patient with our questions and made sure we understood the menu and specials, which we really appreciated. We decided to order family-style so everyone at the table could try a variety of dishes. This ended up being the perfect choice. We shared savory shrimp and chicken tacos, ahi tuna tostadas, fresh ceviche, and a fish entrée that was seasoned differently down the middle. The fish had red and green seasonings, which we jokingly called the "Christmas fish" for obvious reasons. Not only was it visually fun, but the flavors were incredible. Overall, Entremar delivered on every level -- great food, attentive service, and a vibrant dining atmosphere. If you're visiting Mexico City and looking for a place that offers a variety of standout seafood dishes, this spot is definitely worth adding to your list.
Sister restaurant to Contremar. We couldn't get a reservation there so opted in for this restaurant. Tucked away on the side of the street but inside was very livery and super cozy. We got seated upstairs and workers were super friendly. They have inside and outside seating along with upstairs. I could still remember the taste of the tuna tostada in my mouth. I love uni but I think the regular tuna tostada had better flavor than the one with uni. Our next favorite dish was al pastor tacos and then our next favorite dish was grilled fish with two colors. Something about their tortillas it was super chewy and the salsa that comes out was super flavorful and had a good kick to it. Definitely a spot you should check out.
This was one of the best meals I've ever had and definitely my best meal on the trip. Everything we ordered was incredible, the only thing I could skip in the future was dessert. The service was good and the prices were as expected for a fancy seafood place. I hope to come back here again someday.
Entremar is a must visit! The tostadas and grilled fish are incredible. Much easier to get into than its sister restaurant, Contramar(identical menu)! The ambiance is relaxed and the staff are friendly! Highly recommend!
Of all the meals we had in CDMX, we were most looking forward to this one at Entremar. I made this reservation because Contramar was booked but thankfully, its sister restaurant Entremar is much easier to make reservations. We had a lovely 4-top on the upstairs balcony abutting the railing. We really enjoyed seeing and hearing the sounds of the street activity below us, the views of the park across the street, and the feeling of being among the trees with the nearby tree canopy. It was just a picturesque spot and I highly recommend the upstairs tables if you can request one. We ordered a lemonade and accidentally ordered a whole pitcher of the agua fresca of the day, which was tamarind. We were pleased with our mistake, the tamarind agua fresca was delicious - sweet and tart. We ordered the Tuna Tostada and it was the dish we liked the most of the whole meal. The crispy tostadas are topped with a chipotle mayo, marinated tuna, crispy leeks, and avocado. The crispy leeks are the star of the show and take a cold dish to something with texture and extra savoriness. An order comes with 4, but my daughter wanted more in the middle of the meal and the restaurant was flexible enough to let us order a half order of just 2, which was so appreciated. We ordered a clam pasta, with toothsome angel hair pasta, ample little neck clams, and a surprisingly spicy olive oil and garlic based sauce. We also spied a really saucy, tasty shrimp photo on Yelp and showed it to our waiter who said it was off menu but let us order the Camaron de Ajillo (Garlic Shrimp) anyway. This was amazing - huge plump shrimp, garlicky, head juices, perfect with eating with the accompanying rice. The signature dish at Entremar is the Pescado a la talla, and we ordered a smaller size for our party of 3, with both rubs. The Tradicional is a red adobo rub, and the De La Barrita is a parsley rub. It is a show stopper of a dish, beautifully butterflied and presented with the vibrant colors. You eat it taco style, since it comes with fresh, house made corn tortillas, mashed black beans with cheese, and a pickled onions and a green salsa verde. The fish is incredibly fresh and tender though the rubs taste surprisingly subtle compared to how visually stunning they are. Even the smaller sized fish was a really large portion. We left this meal overdosed on excellent Mexican seafood and it was a highlight of the trip.
Tuna tostada was excellent, ambiance was lovely! Definitely try and book your reservation ahead of time. Service was nice as well and everyone spoke English but definitely try and use some basic Spanish skills
Mid day after a walk over from Chapultepec Park, we decided to take advantage of the many open tables curbside and enjoy another round of their Tuna Tostadas & a Pacifico. I also had some of the less memorable fish tacos. So nice 7 tranquil sitting out under the trees. A few nights before we dined at sister restaurant Contremar and it was a bit hectic, this was much nicer. If you aren't able to snag a reservation, just walk in at an off time.
We got the ceviche and grilled fish. Service was great everything tasted fresh. My boyfriend also got an order of their quesadilla that came like empanadas stuffed with melted cheese and a side of guac.
Food Rating: 6/10 Price: 2/10 Ambiance/Service: 10/10 Overall Rating: 6/10 Tostadas de atún (tuna) - 95 pesos Rating (10/10) So light and fresh, the best tostada I have had! Tostada de callo (scallops) - 225 pesos Rating (2/10) The scallop itself had a weird aftertaste that was super fishy. Although the sauce did hide some of the aftertaste. I did not enjoy this tostada. Pescado a la talla - 695 pesos Rating (4/10) It looked great for the picture but the flavor was lacking. I also expected the skin to be crispier Tacos salteados of shrimp - 365 pesos Rating (6/10) It was good but nothing special... the shrimp was a bit tough maybe overcooked Camarones Al Ajillo - 850 pesos Rating (2/10) The shrimp was very flavorful but since the rice wasn't seasoned I would have preferred more sauce on the shrimp to compensate. The shrimps were also super tough and over cooked. In my opinion the dish was not worth the price. Tacos de Esmedregal Al Pastor - 465 pesos Rating (6/10) Nothing special about these tacos.
We were seated in the upstairs dining area, which had a great atmosphere. I kicked things off with a Guava Mezcalito--bright, smoky, and perfectly balanced. The highlight of the dining experience was easily the Tuna Tostadas. They come in a set of four and are a total flavor bomb, especially with the kick from the spicy onions and peppers. We also tried the Ceviche, which wins points for presentation (it arrives in a gorgeous clam shell), though the flavor was just 'okay' on its own. Pro-tip: eat it with the tortilla chips and that green sauce--it completely transforms the dish. Then came the finale: the Pasta with Clams. Now, full disclosure, I am the world's biggest hater of angel hair pasta. When I realized the dish featured those thin strands, I had a silent mental breakdown. While the flavors were actually quite good, the texture of the angel hair felt like a personal vendetta against me. If this had been served with a sturdy fettuccine, it would have been a 5-star dish. A solid meal, just beware the pasta shape if you have strong opinions like I do! Service was great!
Food: Flavor burst, beautifully presented and delightful. The fish with the spicy garlic sauce was oiler than I think was necessary, so it subtracted not added to the dish. I also had the scallop tostado, it was so yummy. Service: exceptional Ambience: Delicate with romantic feel. I was dining solo, but would say the atmosphere was more romantic. Overall I loved the experience in deemed the overall rating because of the oiliness of the dish.
We opted for a special dinner out for Valentine's Day while in CDMX. This is one of the locations in the Contramar family and it was fantastic. Our meals were absolutely great! Started with a classic ceviche and tuna croquettes, then onto kingfish filets prepared two ways, a seared tuna filet, and homemade pasta with shrimp. All were cooked to perfection. Coupled with some nice cocktails made for a great night. The desserts were irresistible. We had a hard time deciding since all six desserts on offer looked great. We opted for an apple tart and a pecan brownie (both warmed and with ice cream), a lemon tart, and a fig tart. Everyone was very happy with the desserts. The staff was friendly and attentive without being pushy. The dining room was bright and had interesting fish-related art on the walls. I would have rated it a 5, but for the fact that the doors to the street were open and we got overwashed with cigarette smoke on a number of occasions. A but pricey, but worth it! read more

Great experience! Seated quickly, clean decor, and the service was impeccable. I was in a large group and our favorite dish was the octopus plate recommended by the waiter. Tbh the food is worth it. Visually appealing and the flavor is there. Also the bar has everything! read more

The food service and ambiance were all good not great. I think there are better options in Mexico City but this was recommended. One very positive surprise - the Mexican Cabernet blend on their wine by the glass list was excellent. read more

Accidents happen. Tonight, our waiter at Entremar spilled a full bowl of caldo de camaron on my husband's lap. The soup went everywhere, soaking the tablecloth and splattering his pants, his shirt and his shoes. His pants (pictured) are most likely ruined. It was just an accident, but the way the team handled it felt unprofessional. The waiter quickly switched out our table linens and gave my husband a glass of soda water and a napkin to blot the (many) stains. Then he proceeded to deliver our entire meal to us as if nothing had happened. I don't work in the biz, but if I did something like that, I'd probably tell my manager or the host so that they could figure out how to best handle the situation, which by all accounts was a table-side disaster. For my husband, sitting in soup- and soda-soaked pants was unpleasant. For me, I couldn't erase the image of soup everywhere! It also felt surreal that our waiter turned all his energy and attention into getting our full order served. The two of us were of the same mind: To cut our losses and go. In order to exit quickly and quietly, we asked to speak to the manager and told him that we preferred to go. I think he was puzzled about why we would leave an entire meal of uneaten food. We had already said twice that we preferred to leave but instead he offered us complementary desserts, which we politely declined. Then he sent us a round of drinks, which we again declined. It felt kind of weird to be stuck there while he kept offering us little make-goods. In my opinion, he should have just let us go, no questions asked. We finally left after paying a significantly adjusted tab for a meal we didn't eat. I'm just bewildered by the team's inability to understand that having a bowl of soup dropped in your lap is a legitimate mood killer. read more

We went to Entremer since the only res we could get at Contremar was for 6pm, a little early... We found a half empty restaurant, but eager wait staff. The menu is great, staff knew the menu well, answered all questions. We had Mahi Mahi ceviche, grilled tuna tips, patata y jamón, king fish.... All really great. Staging was almost nonexistent.... Table was full quickly, as were our stomachs. Open to street, one floor up, nice atmosphere. I think staff was a little eager to get home. Besides that, all was really good. read more
This is the sister restaurant of Contramar and I got a reservation the day of for lunch. We had lemonade which was good but sour. We loved the pulpo tostada (4pcs) which is chopped up octopus. We also had the shrimp ceviche with green sauce and I was expecting chopped up ceviche but it was whole shrimp which was interesting. The service is great and there are tables outside where we sat. We ended with cheese flan. We didn't order any mains since we were pretty full. I would recommend a meal here! read more

A seafood restaurant is a must-try and this high quality place is underrated (in terms of reservation capacity). Bring your own water bottle. Dress comfortably. They speak English and incredible service. read more
Our group agreed this was the best meal we had for our CDMX weekend. The 4 of us shared many items such as: fish quesadilla, shrimp ceviche, grilled octopus, grilled whole fish, fish tacos, & soft shell crabs. Who knew a city so inland has such great seafood and Entremar does every dish perfectly. We were so stuffed and then they showed us the dessert plate! We got the sweetest mango ever in our lives, fig tart, guava cheesecake and a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. Whoa, everything was amazing. Reservation was definitely needed here which I was able to do online via OpenTable about a month out. The only downside is the restaurant is a bit noisy and has no AC. They have portable fans that blow right into your face, but it was no problem to ask them to turn it the other way. All the dishes came out quickly after we ordered and service was friendly. Bathroom is located on the 1st floor. Entremar is definitely a restaurant I would repeat on our next CDMX trip. read more
Entremar is a sister restaurant of Contramar. This was my first meal upon landing in Mexico City (we came straight from the airport). We were running about 20 mins behind our reservation and called to let them know we were running late. When we arrived, we were promptly led upstairs which came with a nice view or the park across the street. Same menu as contramar. Must order the tuna tostadas. We also got the pescado tacos, soft shell crab with flour tortillas (fantastic rec by our server), shrimp aquachile, scallop tostada. Everything was excellent. They are kind of aggressive here with the recommendations. I kept trying to order the pescado tacos only to be pressured to order the fish pastor tacos, which I've already had. I wanted to try something new, so it took a couple mins back and forth with the server to get my order right. read more

Loved the service and the food was top notch! Had to try the fish with two sauces, but it was just two of us. No problem they charge by weight to fit your party so order away! Drinks on par so got to sample many. Ceviche yummy. Pulpo delish! They said they were out of the fig dessert. I frowned with discontent, and ordered another dessert, miraculously our server brought out one slice. Loved the whole experience! So happy, satiated and had a fun time on our last day in Mexico City. read more

If nothing else - I was literally BLOWN AWAY by the flavors here. I ordered the Aguachile verde de camarón which contains shrimp, red onion & chile cuaresmeño (scallops I suppose? Since it also contained them). I was literally OBSESSED with this dish. I was actually not hungry even when my reservation time came around, but I devoured this food since it was soooo good. It was a touch spicy but the piña colada I ordered buffered it just fine. It comes with chips, green salsa which is also a hair spicy (but super good), some spicy veggies, and limes. I had no space left on my stomach after to try anything but I was thrilled with what I had. The place itself was sooo busy and I barely got that reservation for just myself about a week in advance - so be warned you need a reservation! The sister restaurant "Contramar" in Roma Norte was the same way, they actually didn't have any reservations even for one in advance (which is why I opted for Entremar instead as they had 1 reservation even though it was a lot farther). The servers were kind and helpful as well, and the ambiance is nice enough, not the most upscale ever but nice enough all the servers are in black/white suits. There's an upstairs area that looked nice but my table was on the first floor so I didn't see it. The bathrooms aren't anything special, not fancy at all but functional. Overall even just for the flavors here I will ABSOLUTELY come back and would recommend this place to anybody that even remotely likes seafood because it's amazing!!! read more

Order alllll the things - you cannot go wrong with a single item on the menu. The grilled fish with red-green sauces is world famous for a reason; definitely get that. Highly rec the pulpo, too, and any of the ceviches/sashimis. The seafood here is universally cooked tender-but-toothsome; the textures are invariably perfect, the house-made corn tortillas are similarly the right texture, the salsas - sigh. You will be stuffed after appetizers and mains, and you may very well believe that you have no room left for dessert, but do yourself a favor and have a post-meal drink, and THEN order 2-3 postres for the table. My goodness they are all sensational and worth every calorie. That strawberry meringue is the stuff of dreams (a cloud of barely-sweetened whipped cream and berries, topped with a shower of crisp-tender meringue). The fig tart was excellent as well - the nut-based shell, the creamy center, the juicy fruit... gahh. And the cheese flan: it's a classic for a reason. Service is top-notch; everyone speaks English and Spanish. QR-code menu is also in English and Spanish. Ask questions if you have any, and listen to the recs from your waiter - they will not steer you wrong. read more

We really loved this restaurant. We had a 7:00pm reservation for dinner and arrived at 6:50pm and were promptly seated. We were offered downstairs, upstairs or outside seating. We chose upstairs and made the right call. The view was very pretty overlooking the tree lined park across the street. The restaurant already had about six tables filled upstairs. By 7:10pm it was completely filled. The service was impeccable and the menu items all were amazing. The fish with two salsas was outstanding as were the tostadas and tacos. The only thing I would have changed was order a less sweet dessert. I had the coconut flan and had a wild sugar high for almost an hour after dinner. The house made vanilla bean ice cream would have been a better choice. The chocolate brownie was light and very chocolatey as well. We will definitely go back. read more

Entremar is Contramar's sister restaurant located in Polanco. Contramar was closed during our visit, but we were excited to hear that this spot was serving their menu. We loved their tuna tostadas as well as their pulpo. I also really enjoyed the ambiance on their roof - would deff recommend. read more

A must in Polanco. The green/red fish was delicious- like the red better.The tuna tostada was flavorful and the perfect size to leave room for my favorite dish, agua chile! Great service too. read more

Beautiful view of the park from the upstairs. Friendly service. The food was super fresh and well balanced. The tuna tostadas were perfectly portioned. Also tried the pulpo but devoured it before I could take a picture. Great restaurant in a great neighborhood. read more

Wow!!! What can I say??? I want to move to Mexico City after this meal!!!! Fantastic!!!! I had the "Tostadas de Atún", "Ensalada Verde" and "Flan de Queso" everything was so delicious that I want to come back just to eat here!!! A friend of mine who has good taste recommended me the tuna tostadas and I though it sounded real good so... I tried and couldn't resist but to order an additional half order of 2. Four tostadas come with the order but they are so irresistible that I could not help it but order 2 more! Wow! That is all I have to say, if you are in Mexico City... you won't regret coming here! read more
This is hands down one of the best places in CDMX. Sister restaurant to Contramar, this is the local, real-deal, better of the two. The star of the meal was the pescado a la talla. It's definitely a must-try in the city. The service was great as well! read more

I went to Entremar for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. I had heard from my hotel concierge that it was rather sister restaurant of Contramar which I had wanted to visit but could not get a reservation to. We ordered the fish and the shrimp. The shrimp was fishy and unpleasant. The fish was better but expensive and just average. I would not recommend this place or return. Highly recommend going to another establishment if you are looking for a place to eat. read more

Impressive place, made sure to get reservations on OpenTable as reviews were through the roof! They have 2 floors and every table full and workers staying on top of everything. The fresh fish, the tostadas, the ceviches, soup, complementary breads and dipping sauces all so amazing! The servers was fun and cheery and we joked the whole time. Probably the best meal I had in Mexico. The desserts weren't that great but enjoyed the meal and experience nevertheless. For sure will be back when in CDMX. read more

The sister restaurant to Contramar, this restaurant came highly recommended if you couldn't get a reservation (make reservations on OpenTable!) The service is amazing. The waiters, although some were limited in English, are so extremely kind and attentive! We ordered: - Pescado a la talla (4.5/5): We ordered contramar style and it was grilled really well, I usually don't really like fish after it's been cooked, but this tasted really good! It is a tad more overpriced for just a fish, though. - Ceviche a... (was on the suggestions, but I can't find it on the menu and forgot the name already) (3.5/5): The fish I have to admit was amazing. When it came out, I thought it would have the texture of flaky cooked fish, but it was pretty bouncy and tasted really good! My biggest complaint was that the sauce did taste like ketchup- like not even many other flavors. It was extremely overwhelmingly ketchup. - Tostadas de atún (5/5) My absolute favorite! The tuna was so fresh and had a bit of soy sauce on them, but everything worked really well. - Tacos de pescado estilo Ensenada (4/5): Decent fish tacos, but it really wasn't anything special. The fish inside was basically fish sticks. Didn't taste bad, but it wasn't special either. - Tacos de carnitas de pulpo (4.5/5): The octopus tasted good, but overall there wasn't really a lot of flavor to the overall dish. Tasted good, but it's nothing memorable either. - Tacos de salteados de pulpo (4/5): Pretty much same as above, even less memorable though. We also actually ordered una jarra de limonada, and if you order it, expect it to be pretty sour with some carbonation to it. For dessert, we ordered the tarta de higo (fig tarte), and it's one of my favorites. I'd say it's definitely overpriced for what it is, but if you really really want some dessert, I'd recommend that! Overall, this restaurant seemed more of a touristy place (don't even recall seeing locals eating there) with food that really wasn't that flavorful but were pricier. However, the service really is good and the food is decent, too, so this is a decent choice for something a little more upscale! read more
sister restaurant of the more-popular contramar, this is a great dinner spot in CDMX!! i'm pretty sure the menus are the same but nonetheless - amazing fresh seafood & SUPER fast service (maybe a little too fast? we were in and out in less than an hour lol. we were timing how fast the staff would come after clearing a dish). MUST HAVES: the tuna tostada. everyone raves about it & it lives up to the hype. sooo good & fresh. our table luckily ordered quite a bit so everyone could have two tostadas each and no regrets. the whole grilled fish - their house specialty was so good. with two different flavors it was delicious. a bit on the pricier side but almost wish we got the larger size so we could savor it a bit more. the passionfruit cheesecake was INSANE. honestly was so surprised by how much we loved the dessert here (even though this is a seafood restaurant). if you love passionfruit and cheesecake, this dessert was a no-brainer. sooooo excellent. LET DOWNS: the fish sticks lol - we prob shouldn't have ordered this but the serving size was soooo tiny it looked like a kids meal. at least the fries were good. read more
