From start to finish, everything we ordered at Entremar was absolutely delicious. I genuinely cannot find a single negative thing to say about the food. Every dish was fresh, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. The restaurant itself has a lively atmosphere with a two-story seating area. Just something to note for accessibility: the upstairs dining area is only accessible by stairs, as there is no elevator. There is also outdoor seating available when the weather permits, which I imagine would be a great option on a nice day in Mexico City. Service was excellent. Our waiter was incredibly attentive and made the entire experience feel welcoming and seamless. One thing that stood out was how easily he alternated between English and Spanish to accommodate our table. He was patient with our questions and made sure we understood the menu and specials, which we really appreciated. We decided to order family-style so everyone at the table could try a variety of dishes. This ended up being the perfect choice. We shared savory shrimp and chicken tacos, ahi tuna tostadas, fresh ceviche, and a fish entrée that was seasoned differently down the middle. The fish had red and green seasonings, which we jokingly called the "Christmas fish" for obvious reasons. Not only was it visually fun, but the flavors were incredible. Overall, Entremar delivered on every level -- great food, attentive service, and a vibrant dining atmosphere. If you're visiting Mexico City and looking for a place that offers a variety of standout seafood dishes, this spot is definitely worth adding to your list.
Sister restaurant to Contremar. We couldn't get a reservation there so opted in for this restaurant. Tucked away on the side of the street but inside was very livery and super cozy. We got seated upstairs and workers were super friendly. They have inside and outside seating along with upstairs. I could still remember the taste of the tuna tostada in my mouth. I love uni but I think the regular tuna tostada had better flavor than the one with uni. Our next favorite dish was al pastor tacos and then our next favorite dish was grilled fish with two colors. Something about their tortillas it was super chewy and the salsa that comes out was super flavorful and had a good kick to it. Definitely a spot you should check out.
This was one of the best meals I've ever had and definitely my best meal on the trip. Everything we ordered was incredible, the only thing I could skip in the future was dessert. The service was good and the prices were as expected for a fancy seafood place. I hope to come back here again someday.
Of all the meals we had in CDMX, we were most looking forward to this one at Entremar. I made this reservation because Contramar was booked but thankfully, its sister restaurant Entremar is much easier to make reservations. We had a lovely 4-top on the upstairs balcony abutting the railing. We really enjoyed seeing and hearing the sounds of the street activity below us, the views of the park across the street, and the feeling of being among the trees with the nearby tree canopy. It was just a picturesque spot and I highly recommend the upstairs tables if you can request one. We ordered a lemonade and accidentally ordered a whole pitcher of the agua fresca of the day, which was tamarind. We were pleased with our mistake, the tamarind agua fresca was delicious - sweet and tart. We ordered the Tuna Tostada and it was the dish we liked the most of the whole meal. The crispy tostadas are topped with a chipotle mayo, marinated tuna, crispy leeks, and avocado. The crispy leeks are the star of the show and take a cold dish to something with texture and extra savoriness. An order comes with 4, but my daughter wanted more in the middle of the meal and the restaurant was flexible enough to let us order a half order of just 2, which was so appreciated. We ordered a clam pasta, with toothsome angel hair pasta, ample little neck clams, and a surprisingly spicy olive oil and garlic based sauce. We also spied a really saucy, tasty shrimp photo on Yelp and showed it to our waiter who said it was off menu but let us order the Camaron de Ajillo (Garlic Shrimp) anyway. This was amazing - huge plump shrimp, garlicky, head juices, perfect with eating with the accompanying rice. The signature dish at Entremar is the Pescado a la talla, and we ordered a smaller size for our party of 3, with both rubs. The Tradicional is a red adobo rub, and the De La Barrita is a parsley rub. It is a show stopper of a dish, beautifully butterflied and presented with the vibrant colors. You eat it taco style, since it comes with fresh, house made corn tortillas, mashed black beans with cheese, and a pickled onions and a green salsa verde. The fish is incredibly fresh and tender though the rubs taste surprisingly subtle compared to how visually stunning they are. Even the smaller sized fish was a really large portion. We left this meal overdosed on excellent Mexican seafood and it was a highlight of the trip.
Mid day after a walk over from Chapultepec Park, we decided to take advantage of the many open tables curbside and enjoy another round of their Tuna Tostadas & a Pacifico. I also had some of the less memorable fish tacos. So nice 7 tranquil sitting out under the trees. A few nights before we dined at sister restaurant Contremar and it was a bit hectic, this was much nicer. If you aren't able to snag a reservation, just walk in at an off time.
Food Rating: 6/10 Price: 2/10 Ambiance/Service: 10/10 Overall Rating: 6/10 Tostadas de atún (tuna) - 95 pesos Rating (10/10) So light and fresh, the best tostada I have had! Tostada de callo (scallops) - 225 pesos Rating (2/10) The scallop itself had a weird aftertaste that was super fishy. Although the sauce did hide some of the aftertaste. I did not enjoy this tostada. Pescado a la talla - 695 pesos Rating (4/10) It looked great for the picture but the flavor was lacking. I also expected the skin to be crispier Tacos salteados of shrimp - 365 pesos Rating (6/10) It was good but nothing special... the shrimp was a bit tough maybe overcooked Camarones Al Ajillo - 850 pesos Rating (2/10) The shrimp was very flavorful but since the rice wasn't seasoned I would have preferred more sauce on the shrimp to compensate. The shrimps were also super tough and over cooked. In my opinion the dish was not worth the price. Tacos de Esmedregal Al Pastor - 465 pesos Rating (6/10) Nothing special about these tacos.
We were seated in the upstairs dining area, which had a great atmosphere. I kicked things off with a Guava Mezcalito--bright, smoky, and perfectly balanced. The highlight of the dining experience was easily the Tuna Tostadas. They come in a set of four and are a total flavor bomb, especially with the kick from the spicy onions and peppers. We also tried the Ceviche, which wins points for presentation (it arrives in a gorgeous clam shell), though the flavor was just 'okay' on its own. Pro-tip: eat it with the tortilla chips and that green sauce--it completely transforms the dish. Then came the finale: the Pasta with Clams. Now, full disclosure, I am the world's biggest hater of angel hair pasta. When I realized the dish featured those thin strands, I had a silent mental breakdown. While the flavors were actually quite good, the texture of the angel hair felt like a personal vendetta against me. If this had been served with a sturdy fettuccine, it would have been a 5-star dish. A solid meal, just beware the pasta shape if you have strong opinions like I do! Service was great!
Food: Flavor burst, beautifully presented and delightful. The fish with the spicy garlic sauce was oiler than I think was necessary, so it subtracted not added to the dish. I also had the scallop tostado, it was so yummy. Service: exceptional Ambience: Delicate with romantic feel. I was dining solo, but would say the atmosphere was more romantic. Overall I loved the experience in deemed the overall rating because of the oiliness of the dish.
Service was nice but the food was overrated and expensive for what it was. Overall taste was good but not impressive. The favorite was the aguachile. The Yaocalli cocktail was very smooth. The camarones al ajillo were tasty but half shrimp heads with not a lot of filling. Portions were satisfying. Server was very nice and attentive. A lot of foreigners go there.
We loved everything we ate at Entremar! The vibes were wonderful too. We ordered the tuna tostada, the crab tacos, and the fish. I honestly cannot stop thinking about the tuna or the onion/habanero pepper sauce that we put on EVERYTHING. The fish with cilantro was decent but I felt like it was even better when we wrapped it up in a lil tortilla - and I'd honestly say the tacos and the tuna was better than the fish. I also ordered a hibiscus marg which went perfectly with the food.

We booked on opentable for a 5pm Saturday reservation and were seated immediately. Our waiters were attentive but made it so they wanted us to order ASAP, no problem but some might not like that. Tuna tostadas were amazing, should've ordered a second order. The tuna sashimi was good but not amazing and same goes with the red/green fish. Both were good but not mind blowing. Solid dinner overall and I'd come back again anytime. read more

I came in just because it was nearby and I am so glad I did. The service was great, fast and friendly. The waiter made recommendations for me to try and I loved everything he suggested. The food was just perfect. read more
Excellent seafood in the condessa neighbor. A friend of a friend recommended contramar and said that reservations were recommended. Upon setting reservation via email, the kind folks said they were booked and offered the sister restaurant instead which had openings. The food was so good. Fresh tuna, fresh snapper, a delicious dessert and an intriguing sangria which im convinced had beer in it but hey it was refreshing non the less. Lets start with the tuna and guac. The tuna is prepared however you desire and the entree comes out with fresh tamales. The grilled snapper was 450 grams of a whole fish sliced in half. We opted for one half with the achiote and the other half with a parsely olive oil mix. The fish was very big and we didnt even get to finish it. I would recommend this spot as a must if you visit Mexico City! read more

Amazing carajillo, grilled octopus, and fish to the waist! After another long day of walking around CDMX, my Italian friend and I came to this place for dinner. We wanted something without much corn, taco meat, and items we already tried in CDMX, so we settled on seafood. This place looks clean with light colors and was situated next to a park with so many trees. Interestingly, we heard so many different languages in this packed restaurant, so this place must be hopping. Our server, Vitor Hugo (not the author of the Hunchback of Notre Dame), was wonderful and efficient. Thanks to his patience on my elementary level Spanish, we had a great evening with his amazing service. One draw to this place was carajillo. Being a cocktail lover, I never had this drink before. And as a non-coffee drinker, I was even more surprised by the vanilla flavor and smoothness that I drank the entire coffee-based drink without a headache! Food-wise, the first highlight was the grilled octopus. This has been a favorite dish of mine since visiting Tijuana. However, different from Tijuana where they served the whole octopus, Entremar chopped theirs into bite-sized pieces. My friend never had this dish before and was amazed by it. The second highlight is the pescado a la talle. Surprisingly, the sauces on the fish were not overpowering, and you can taste the freshness of the fish (despite Mexico City being far away from the oceans). This dish reminded me of the steamed whole fish dishes in Asia, and I was happily devouring the head and cheek. Unfortunately being late at night, most dessert options were sold out. Though this meal was not as cheap as street food and such (since we were in the expensive Polanco neighborhood), we still left happily after this meal. read more

The food is good, not great. The service is pretty poor and by that factor alone I can't recommend Entremar. There are too many good restaurants in this city to settle for this one. read more

It was absolutely delicious!! Very attentive service, wonderful upstairs seating with a nice view of the plaza. The fish with 2 sauces was as delicious as I'd hoped! The clam pasta was very flavorful. The fig tart was a light and refreshing way to end the meal :) read more

Be far the best seafood restaurant in town. Tuna tasada were super delicious; fresh tuna full of flavors. So good, we ordered a second round after we finished our appetizers. The specialty fish prepared with two opposing test complimentary sauces was superb! And we've had similar preparation twice before on this trip. Tuna filet was with a simple sauce that featured the freshness of the fish. read more

I don't know how this place can stay in business since it's never busy, but if you're in-the-know and have been to Contramar than you will understand this is quite literally the same menu and the same quality of seafood and you can always walk right in for just an insanely good meal. Shrimp in aguachile verde is amazing. I hope it's around forever but I don't think it will be based on how many open tables I see. Granted it's fun to eat in a packed place that's "the place to be" (Aka contramar) but if you can't get in or don't like a busy place and want to try all of the same food - this is your spot. read more

First thing about this place it has a very strong smell of seafood. Ambience is not modern rather very simple. Yet the prices are very competitive. Take a look at the famous fish dish with two sauces. Even though I did my best expressing that I want the smallest fish available I got the 700g for $833MX while in the menu they have an option of 500gr for $499MX. The total bill for one person was $80+ before the tip. This is the price I pay at a decent restaurant in the states. My order included one main dish one appetizer and one margarita. Overall good food(not extraordinary) but very overpriced. I was reading other reviews and seems like many people are being overcharged for the fish dish. It may be a good idea to change the menu pricing to something like $499MX+ and give customers a heads up that dish is recommended to be shared. I would not recommend this place due to the sketchy and overpriced menu. read more

This is an amazing restaurant! I highly recommend it if you are in Mexico City. This place is very similar to Contremar which is a very popular restaurant in Mexico City. However, this place is much less crowded and easier to get a reservation. It offers similar menu to Contremar. We made the reservation on open table so it's super easy to book. The waiters here speak English so you don't need to worry too much if you don't speak much Spanish. We ordered couple of items based on a friends recommendation. My favorite is actually the tuna tostadas! It is perfect with their onion and jalapeño dressing! I love the fresh tuna on the tostada and the roasted onion along with spicy fresh jalapeños. Of course we had to try their most popular grilled fish here. It is served as a whole fish so it's ordered by size. We had the smallest size for two people which was about 900g. That's plenty of food for us. I personally love the red sauce because it's spicy and heavier flavor. My other friends like the green sauce side. The fish is so fresh that tasted amazing with either one. We had their white fish ceviche too which was also great. Again very fresh fish so the taste is great. I love the service here! Very attentive and friendly. This dinner was the best meal we had in Mexico City! read more

Super big fan of this restaurant. Wasn't able to get contramar to work with our vacation schedule but was recommended this by the staff at contramar. One of the BEST restaurants I've been to. For about thirtty to fifty USD a person, you get great ingredient cooked very well. This restaurant is a high light of the trip. read more
Hands down!! This has to be one of the best seafood restaurant in Mexico City. Reservation is required. The do closed at 7:00 PM so make sure you eat early. The food and service were both amazing. I feel like I ordered the whole menu. The seafood was super fresh and was very well prepared. The whole fish, tuna tostada, and the clam pasta were my favorites. I highly recommend them all. This is a must visit if you love seafood. read more

If you are from or visiting Mexico City, I highly recommend eating at Entremar. Out of the many places my friends and I have dined in Polanco, this was the stand out favorite place to eat. The quality of service, food, and cocktails were exceptional and would make it a point to dine at Entremar again the next time I visit Mexico. Atmosphere: the restaurant has two floors. The top floor has a nice balcony view of the park which showcases the greenery around the restaurant. The bottom floor did not have any windows and had a different ambiance than the second--more like date night in the city vibe and was not as impressive as the second floor. Service: The servers were attentive. Majority of the dishes were served table side. There was always at least 2-3 servers by our table side making sure that our plates and tables were clean. Very cordial, knowledgeable of the menu, and offered many suggestions of popular dishes. Food: This place is known for their seafood and they did not disappoint. Please refer to photos for recommendations. The only thing not pictured was our dessert which was a coconut flan. Originally, we did not intend to get dessert but after the quality of dishes that we ate, we decided to go with their recommendation. It was not overly sweet, creamy texture, with a good combination of caramel, condensed milk, and coconut. Beverages: The mojito mezcal is a must to try. It is served with an abundance of fresh herbs and was refreshingly light. The mezcal wasn't overbearing but complimented the other flavors in the cocktail. read more

It was my dad's birthday today and he loves seafood. After hearing raving reviews I decided to make reservations here, since Contramar didn't have reservations available. It was not a waste of money at all. We had an amazing time. The fish is tasty and cooked to perfection. It lived up to its hype. Also, the staff followed all COVID-19 safety measures and they were extremely kind and helpful. Thank you for making our day, we will be back!!! read more

This is a "blow your socks off" restaurant Miguel remembered us (and our drink order) from our earlier visit Again we had the tostada de atún and followed it with a toco de pulpo Oh My effing God!!!! I then wanted more and Miguel suggested a half order of .....something. Whatever, I trusted him .. I think it was the Camaro es al ajillo albeit a half portion Hmm, it was good, just not as good as the first two items we had My recommendation; stick with tostadas and tacos read more

This place has an upstairs terrace that you can see the park and is very nice. The first time we went there I had the most delicious garlic shrimp. The second time they didn't have the shrimp and the food was good. Service is good and the place looks great. read more
