The shrimp were fresh and the garlic was perfectly heavy on the pasta dishes. The hummus tahini appetizer does need additional bread from how much it comes with. After a week of beach front dining at all the brew pubs and rooftop restaurants in isla verde I was a bit disappointed when we drove into this strip mall full of fast food places. But once we walked in, the soft lighting and beautiful decor put me at ease. I have been to many places that ape this concept, which is a wine shop with a restaurant. Happy wine in MIAMI comes to mind. The idea is you buy your bottle of wine at wine shop prices without the restaurant mark up and pair it with your meal.the wine is usually displayed in racks and you are encouraged to walk around and pick your bottle. Frankly I like that much better than looking at a wine list. Entrevinos takes this concept to perfection. The interior is warm and welcoming with wood tones, soft lighting and industrial touches like exposed steel beam ceilings. It's very roomy, the tables are not jammed together so you can spread out and have a private conversation. The wine bottles are tastefully displayed, expertly selected and sorted by price. It's a simple idea, sort by price but no one does it. I went up to the $49 and $59 racks and started to peruse using my trusty vivíno app. Every bottle was rated over a 4. If you use this app you know thats rare. The owner came over and pointed out a few. While the selection tends to be heavy California (and why not) I prefer bold French wines. He pointed out a chateuneuf-du-Pape that he said was rated number 30 on wine spectator. It was an amazing wine and marked up only about 10 dollars. They decanted it at my request and we were able to enjoy it quickly. We also had a California pino noir rated a 4.5 on vivino, also marked up only 10 dollars. If you enjoy wine this place is wonderful, they really curate the wines so its dummy proof. So after all that what about the food? Rather than everyone getting a menu the waitstaff brings a large one and takes you though it. Works better for small groups but not a big concern. There were 12 of us so we tried multiple appetizers and entres all were quite good. The best was a 12 oz fillet that you can cut with a fork and tasted great. The portions are huge. The lamb chops brings 8 or 9. So I suggest you share one entre for 2. The baked Alaska was excellent but that's enough for 6-10 people. I truly enjoyed the experience of dining here and apréciate the well curated wine list and concept. If this place was in coral gables (my home town) I would be here often. There is so much to love about this restaurant. Don't worry that it is located in a place with Burger King and Churches Fried Chicken. It is a moderately priced eatery where dinner for two will easily be $100. But it's with every single dollar. They have a wheelchair accessible front door, a big plus in my life. And the decor is floor to ceiling wines- of every kind in racks that separate sections of the dining room space. The waitstaff was great. They don't have menus but instead bring a menu on a wooden board Ryan's they prop it up on a chair so that you can see their offerings. And the choices are many and the portions are huge! So really with the take out boxes, you have additional meals which helps to stretch your dollars. We had the Tomatoe, Mozzarella and basil plate, the grilled chicken with mash potatoes and veggies, a glass of red wine, a bottle of flat water, bread with butter and bbq baby back ribs ( sauce on side) with an assortment of veggies. The three flattened chicken breasts were grilled to perfection and they sat atop a large mind of creamy mashed potatoes. The large rack of ribs fell off of the bone. The sauce was vinegary with a nice spice on the pallet . The corn, zucchini and red peppers side was grilled and I was given a double portion in lieu of a starchy side. It was absolutely delicious. The bathroom was spa-like. The decor was high end and beautiful. Some strategically placed carpets could help with the noise, but it wasn't unpleasant. The food was very good. For appetizers we enjoyed the carpaccio, the pumpkin soup. We were not a fan of the octopus (we found if rubbery). We loved the branzino, tuna tartare, osso buco and chicken Marsala. The desserts of red velvet waffles and guava cheesecake were good but not great. But that combined with slow and bad service, as several meals came out incorrect, including a vegetarian omelette that came out with several pieces of bacon on top, makes this place one you can pass on in your time in San Juan. My birthday dinner was at Entrevinos this year in Isla Verde, Carolina PR. It was a dimly lite, super intimate restaurant with shelves of wines that can be purchased with or without food. The atmosphere of the restaurant is so beautiful along with the exceptional service. We started with calamari which was super fresh and tasty. For our entrees we got the shrimp pasta and the seafood stuffed Bronzino. The portion sizes were very big which makes up for it being more on the $$/$$$ range. When I tell you I was in heaven enjoying this Bronzino, I am not exaggerating! It was cooked to perfection and stuffed with shrimp. It was one of the best meals I've had. It came with Brussels sprouts and which helped balance the richness of it. My bf got the seafood pasta which he said was very good but was picking at my plate later to tell me he wished he had gotten the same dish. Our server was very kind and helped pair a wine with our meal as well. 10/10 would recommend if you're in PR! read more

Si me and my girlfriend went to this place on a Thursday night for her birthday. We got greeted nicely and got sat right away too. So far so good, we sit and wait for about 10 or 15 min...then our waitress Andrea walked by and just said I'll be right with you in a swift mode! 5 min later I got her attention and said can we at least get menus as she was dropping off the bar scan code on the table at the same time since of course I didn't know that that's what she was actually doing!! After ordering our food, being ignored by our waiter and watching multiple people who came after us get their food the food then came two hours later. My food, risotto with lobster, was so disgustingly soggy I could not eat it. The Lobster had no taste and was extremely over cooked. I ended up leaving it at the restaurant. My Boyfriend ordered a steak well done which took 2 hours to cook for some reason and by the time the food was served they told us they were also out of mashed potatoes. We left hungry and dehydrated since they also forgot to give us water after asking multiple times. The Burger King across the street would have been a better choice. read more

First of all, our waitress Nannette was fabulous! She was the sweetest- she gave us a bunch of great recommendations and even hugged us goodbye! The manager also stopped over to see how everything was. We had an excellent time here and they were very accommodating. This is a unique spot as they have bottles of wine lining the walls and you essentially pick out the bottle that you want to buy and they uncork it for you at your table. They also have a house white and red if you only want a glass as well as a couple of beer options. The food was excellent!! We tried the grilled grouper and the seafood pasta. Each entree was delicious. The fish was served with potatoes and the pasta was in a red sauce topped with tons of calamari, mussels, shrimp and fish bits. We also ordered a side of the balsamic brussel sprouts which were pretty good - could have been a bit crispier. Excellent service, good food and cool wine bar concept. They have one large menu for each table which could be difficult to read for some. I think their menu changes regularly so this may make more sense, but something to consider. read more

I did however find the food to be good but nothing outstanding. Had the lamb chops which were done nicely but just plain and the plate was also nothing special; mashed potatoes and veggie. Seemed that they could have done more to be a little creative with the food. I noticed all the plates at our table had the same mashed potatoes and veggie, so not much thought. Went here for dinner without reservation and was seated promptly. This is a wine bar and they have very limited beer (2 beers) and whiskey (4 brands). Their food menu is not extensive but their wine selection is. I tried the balsamic chicken and grilled chicken sandwich and both of them tasted about average. The portion size is good. A mediocre place pretending to be a high end restaurant. This review is based solely on the food. I ordered Mahi Mahi with vegetables ($32). The menu description said it was in a beurre blanc sauce. What arrived at my table was an insipid plate of tough, frozen, bland fish. No sauce, seasoning, and definitely not fresh. They had to be kidding with serving me the veggies. They were cold, not fresh- the corn on the cob was brown and dried out on the edges. The asparagus was dried out and they didn't bother to trim the ends. The squash was mush. Plus, all the veggies were huge pieces, as if the chef couldn't be bothered to cut, trim, or present the veggies. Looked way amateur and like the veggies were microwaved with no seasoning. Not what you expect or should be served at a place where I'm going to spend about $70/pp. I had better quality food and presentation at Chili's!! If you like red wine, they have a large selection. Much, much smaller selection for white wine and sparkling. Not worth the time, effort, money, or calories to go here. My favorite wines, Cakebread Chardonnay and Rombauer Chardonnay were both $20-25 more expensive here than at Cayo Caribe. Go there instead - the food and wine prices are so much better! read more

Received a recommendation from a local we met to come here. We are so pleased that we came! My husband and I have special dietary requirements and Chef Xiomy was gracious enough to accommodate us. Our meal not only covered the dietary bases, but was delicious. The wine selection is incredibly good and reasonably priced. Franck and his staff were amazing! We were traveling from Chicago celebrating our 50th birthday and after research we came across Entrevinos and it was one of the best choices we did. We had a group of 30 and they were so accommodating and helped us make our 50th celebration special. We had one person that was vegan and they were able to accommodate. Franck was always in communication with us, any question we had he was available and responded. Our event was on a Sunday we arrived on a Saturday and he made himself available so that we can go see the place and finalize any last minute items. He always made us feel like we were in good hands with no stress. The food was delicious! I ordered the salmon and it was outstanding! the coffee and sangria were also delicious. There is honestly not one bad thing that I can say went wrong with Entrevinos. I would definitely recommend this place and will be visiting soon. In from the mainland looking for something a little different, Jackpot! Chose to fill up on appetizers, had the Ceviche, spot on with wonderful citrus influences and a subtle crunch from the onions. The Tostones were a fun addition we don't see in the states so much. Delicious! The oysters on the half-shell were tasty as to be expected. The Truffle fries were cooked to perfection and rocked both my fiancée and my socks off literally, (ok weren't wearing any). We finished off with the Entrevinos burger, what a pleasure. The basil and truffle mayo were a wonderful paring that we both will remember for quite sometime. It was truly a gastro harmony of epicurious proportion. What a fun and clever idea for picking wines. A first to this style, I hope it catches on in the states. Even wearing a mask, I found a 2014 Newton Claret that was as delightful as I remember drinking it in Yountville, CA. Any restaurant would falter if not for the efforts of a well tuned staff and someone has put together quite the team here. Gabriella was tops on her game and certainly deserves a shout out form this happy customer. I am giving a two stars. Because sometimes even though food might not be great, service might save it. We did get accommodated without a reservation. Server was very Nice at the beginning, But the ending was wow, despite looking out for him, he gave such a shitty vibe. Let's start with the Lobster soup "bisque" super bitter and no lobster chunks. We returned it and like most "high end" restaurant, who would not charge for we still had to pay for it. The calamari was beyond chewy so not fresh and the Rockerfella oysters where very salty. We still didn't complain. The Bransino was not great. We dine out and have had a good amount to tell you that branzino was not great. We still Didn't complain. The Ossobuko (not sure about spelling) was amazing. We asked for water and one cup had thick lipstick. It's Covid pandemic!!!!! When we called the waiter after being done, I said 3 things: "to go for the ossobuko, the bill and let the washers know about that cup, cause it will affect you". He obviously got upset and his demeanor changed. He came back with a $251 bill and said "how was everything, besides the cup"?. Like really? We didn't ask for free stuff. Restaurant was close to hotel so we decided to try it out. food was good overall but server (Andrea or Adriana) really just left a sour note for this restauran. We asked the server for her review between the Lasagna bolognese and the chicken park, the server responded to us by saying "there's more unique dishes to choose from" not really answering our question. For dessert, we were really excited to try the guava flan. We received the flan and as soon as we tasted it, we couldn't really taste guava, the more I tasted it I figured out, it tasted like pumpkin. As we were leaving i asked the waitress if the flan was guava or pumpkin, without hesitation she responded "we were out of guava so I gave you pumpkin." I would have posted a picture of it uneaten, in all it's beauty when it came to the table, BUT it was so delicious I couldn't stop eating! This has a "mushroom marmalade" on it. Never heard of such a thing, It is slightly sweet and succulent. It doesn't actually taste like mushrooms...I can't fully describe it as the flavors were so deep and complex. My husband had the Lasagne Bolognese and he was amazed also. Again, the flavors were perfectly varied and not your standard red sauce with meat and cheese. Very laid back atmosphere, service superb.
