    Well we made it to/from LAX alive and in time. I will say John was communicative and let us know…read morehow and where to meet, and let us know when he was on his way and if there were any delays. Otherwise, his driving was a little scary; we were picked up not super early in the morning (between 9-11am), but he looked like he was struggling and swerved 2-3 times to stay in his lane. The van was also pretty filthy on the inside; there were nut shells on the floor and didn't seemed it was cleaned for several weeks. For example, I've called in regard to two different booked trips in the past month and only ever got through to someone once (out of about 6 calls total and one unanswered text). - They tend to switch drivers day of trip due to availability and timing which I can totally understand but if you're someone who gets anxious about switch ups like that - just something to note. - There isn't really a way to modify or cancel a trip reservation easily off their website. You'd have to call but as I've mentioned, it was tough getting in touch. However! The little chat function on the website worked pretty quick and they were responsive at first in helping. Then I got ghosted mid-convo bc I think whoever on the other side thought I was done with my questions/asks. - There is a 5% cancellation fee due to the company's bank? This is regardless of time before trip. There are other reputable car service companies that give full refunds for cancellations as long as it's at least an hour before reserved time. This company is cheaper than the ones I'm thinking of so there is balance there! But can get complicated, if like me, you're booking for business trip which is an expense but hard to expense a cancellation fee on top of a different res elsewhere. But also, I had one experience where there wasn't any issues with pick up other than the driver switch which had us confused momentarily. We got over it fast and was nothing but a hiccup! But again, if you're sensitive about things like that - just something to be aware of so that nobody is surprised.

    We used to utilize In Style Transportation for every trip and always appreciated their punctuality…read more However our last drive to the airport was unsettling to say the least. Our driver, John, was revealing identities and residence locations of other clients within the company as though it were casual conversation on the drive. We were uncomfortable hearing private information including locations of other clients and tried to redirect the conversation. John repeatedly cut us off while talking, multiple times, to continue discussing details about other clients of the company. He also told us we caught him on a good day and that was why he was carrying our luggage out of the vehicle and off the curb. John was casually disrespectful by interrupting our private conversation as well only to discuss what was interesting to him, and even when we responded, he ignored us and continued talking in a manner than seemed only to amuse himself. A quiet and professional drive is what we had hoped for. John's insistence about revealing other clients' identities among other details, along with being very casual to interrupt our private discussions with random thoughts that would come into his head made us feel differently about In Style. We asked for a supervisor to call us to discuss our ride, but we were never contacted. Steven our driver back from the airport, on the other hand, was very professional and courteous.

Most recently, I needed to use the service for a pick up from UCLA to home for my baby Bruin who wanted to come home for the Halloween weekend. While I easily could have went with Uber, Rich gave me an incredible deal that came out to the same as Uber. Our driver was Harry. Not only was he amazing, but he was completely reliable and most importantly safe. The car was spacious enough for my Bruin to bring home laundry to do at home. So if you have a college student who needs to arrange a ride home, Happy Shuttle is definitely the place to call. They continue to exceed expectations and their prices are affordable. For our roundtrip airport transport, we confirmed twice over the phone that we needed a rear-facing car seat and a vehicle that could fit five passengers with luggage. The driver showed up without the correct car seat, and the car was too small for our bags. When we brought this up, we were told the driver "forgot." This created a stressful and unsafe ride for our baby. On our return ride, the same driver was over 20 minutes late, joked on the phone that "no one's coming," and when we asked for an ETA, gave no clear answer. When my elderly father expressed frustration, the driver threatened to leave us at the airport. This was deeply unsettling--especially since the driver knew our home address. After the trip, I spoke with Rich (the manager), who acknowledged both incidents were unacceptable and promised a refund and a free ride to make it right. Neither happened. It's not about the money--it's the principle. The broken promises and continued lack of follow-through make me feel we were lied to just to de-escalate the situation. I don't take writing negative reviews lightly, but this experience was unacceptable. This company may have good ratings, but if something goes wrong, you're on your own. I would not trust them again--especially if you're traveling with children.
