Dr G has a great bedside manner and her staff is professional, friendly and offer an efficient experience. Great location and service was awesome. Staff are friendly and the place of business is very clean and progressive. Had an appt with Dr. Garlich recently and she's awesome! I'm quite scattered and sometimes random topics/Qs pop-up in my head, and she's able to track and answer them respectively. Compared to my previous eye Dr, Dr. Garlich's definitely way nicer and much more patient. Also, her assistant is great! I had to take a call right before we had to do the initial eye tests, and she was really nice about it. She was also very patient with the fact that I kept blinking during the eye puff tests. Got my annual exam here so I could order contacts. Receptionists were rude when I got confused upon getting there that my insurance wasn't going to cover the appointment, one woman actually told me, "why don't you go call your Mom and Dad"... good for you lady I've been paying for my health care for years so don't just assume spoiled rich kids come to your place because you charge way too much... This place is extremely money hungry. I came into my appointment wishing to order two-week lenses, and when I told Doctor Garlich that she flat out told me "no", that I would never truly like them. I explained to her the benefit in saving $600 a year, but she continued telling me no and she wouldn't let me order them. I ended up leaving my appointment with samples of different contacts I didn't really want to order, but was given no choice even though I pleaded with Garlich to just order me what I wanted. They also charged me $60 extra dollars to take a picture of my eye instead of dilate them, which would have made it impossible to look at my computer for work for the rest of the day... seems like a scam I waited to write this review until I got my rebate back because I was worried they'd try to steal that too. read more

I was very disappointed this time by the attitude of one front desk individual, who, because I was 4 minutes late, wanted to cancel my appointment and have me reschedule! The rest of the staff were extremely apologetic for his behavior, well mannered and kind, and my appointment with Dr. Cruz was a pleasure. Although they gave me a "discount" of 30 percent off for my new prescription progressive lens frames, I still ended up with s hefty bill for the exam and eyewear - more than $900! 23 Days for New Frames It started off well enough. I broke my reading glasses. Based on high ratings here I reached out to Envision. They were very responsive. They said they couldn't replace the broken part but I could buy new (same style) frames if I wanted to. Which was fine by me. The frames needed to be ordered from Spain and it takes two weeks. Not ideal, since these are my primary reading glasses and I use them more than eight hours a day. But I like them so I went with it. Since it takes so long to get the frames, I didn't want any mistakes, so I took my old frames to them before they ordered from Spain. To make sure they ordered the right frames. Can you guess what happened next? They ordered the wrong frames. They let me know this with a lukewarm apology in an email. When I expressed my disappointment, their response was to offer to refund my money. Left without any good option I reluctantly accepted to wait yet another two weeks. There's a lot of high-rating reviews here. My experience was not so great. With better customer service all this could've been avoided. Anyway, I have my new frames but the experience has left a bad taste and I doubt I'll go back. Based on my interaction with Envision, I doubt they care. read more

I've been coming here since I moved to Boston, its a great eye doctor. On my most recent visit, Dr. Cruz was very friendly and knowledgable, and was able to provide me with some good recommendations on how I can take care of my eyes going forward. The other nice thing is the location is great, and when you make an appointment, they get you in there quick, you're not waiting around for 15-30 minutes like some other places. Then when you come out, they are also quick to help you get your contacts or glasses you need. read more

Two stars only for Dr. Lister and the sweet woman that did my eye testing before seeing the doctor. While my actual face time with Dr. Lister went very well, overall my experience at Envision was not good and I will never return. The wait time, though I'm sure unusual for that day, was too much. I was assured I would get out of the office at a certain time, as I had a meeting to get to, and I did not make it on time to that meeting due to how long I had to wait to be seen. The office is very stylish and I only wish they put more effort into their customer service rather than in their storefront. Everything reeks of being over priced and elitist. But I was most disappointed with the service I received when reviewing my options for glasses. I am very attached to my frames and had no desire to spend hundreds of dollars on frames I could get far cheaper online so I opted to just have new lenses put into my glasses. But nothing was explained to me. I kept having to ask questions about the process and had no idea when I was actually finished with the transaction. I asked about the process for new lenses and she explained that they would call me when the lenses come in, I'll drop off my frames for a few hours and then viola! have my new prescription lenses in my old frames. Four weeks later I was still waiting for the phone call... so I called them only to find out an order was never placed. I'm a grad student and I go back to school soon and I need my glasses. I am incredibly disappointed at the extreme oversight (pun intended) of their customer service. I will definitely be seeking a new optometrist office, not because of Dr. Lister, but because of Envision. I cannot recommend this business. read more

It's pretty rare that I write a review, but I felt compelled to after my visit today because Dr. Garlich is genuinely the nicest doctor I've ever been. I have anxiety / a bit of an irrational fear of the eye doctor in general, but she was so kind and warm and patient. She had me laughing through out my appointment, was super informative and thorough, answered all of my questions, and was just all around wonderful. Two stars for Dr Rose. I went in for an exam and tried out my new contacts at home but found that it took a split second for my eyes to focus from object to object. I went back to Envision a couple days later and explained the situation to Dr Rose. I suspected that the issue was that my new contacts had a smaller base curve than my contacts before. She did a quick test and confirmed that my prescription was correct and that my eyes were of average curvature, so she didn't take my concerns seriously. She seemed to imply that I was making up the issue, that the average person would not notice these details. Very impatient and unprofessional. Turns out my hunch was actually right. I went home to try out new lenses in the wider base curve I had before, and the issue went away. Two stars for Dr Lister who performed my eye exam and prescribed me the smaller base curve in the first place. Five stars for the excellent office staff, though, who are super friendly and accessible. They helped me replace the lenses I ordered with ones with wider base curve. Zero hassle. read more

Envision is not a bad place to go to, if you have a lot of extra money. Everyone at the office was nice, and my appointment started on time. The location is always downtown near Equinox- if you work around the area, you can easily go in during your lunch break. I am giving this place 2 stars because everything is super overpriced, and the way I was charged for services was weird. First I was charged $40 for contact lens fitting. I had brought a copy of my insurance policy with me- the lady saw that my insurance stated I would have to pay "up to $55", so she quickly changed the price to make it $55 and "apologized" for her mistake. It says UP TO $55, it doesn't mean you have to charge me the maximum amount.. She then told me the cost of the contact lens fitting was $90, so that I was saving XX amount. There are no price lists anywhere, so I have no idea what the actual price of the contact lens fitting was. I was charged $150 for a box of Acuvue 24 pack. Good thing I had done my research beforehand. Here is what other retailers charge: -Walmart: $135 per box. OR $122 if you buy 2 boxes. -Walgreens $123. -Target $124.99 Since you have to buy 2 boxes of contacts (one for each eye), you would be saving $50 if you went to these other retailers. The lady brought down the price to $135 per box after I told her I was going to Walmart. I find it interesting that the price of everything changed during the visit. The prices of my contacts changed during the visit, the amount I paid for my contact lens fitting changed too. I would come here for an eye exam, but buy my contacts at cheaper retailers. read more

I am pretty much obsessed with the team at Envision. They remember me when I come in, we catch up on what's been going on since my last visit and most importantly, they're all incredibly knowledgeable! I can't say enough about Dr. Rose, Steven, Corrina and Christina - they're more than willing to help, they go above and beyond and they're incredibly welcoming. I'm from Buffalo and I was very comfortable with my previous optometrist, never had any intentions of finding someone around here. I am SO happy I had a change of heart (ok, so maybe my mom told me it was time to "grow up" after five years of living in Boston) because Dr. Rose and her team are genuinely there for the right reasons...all while promoting myself and others to look fabulous in the latest designer glasses. I've been a patient of Dr. Rose for over 7 years now. Dr. Rose is very personable and has upgraded her eye exam machinery, so the entire experience is very enjoyable. Her staff is superb as well. They take great pride in making the office atmosphere very humanistic showcasing their various community do-good activities and partnerships with local personalities. The optician, Christina, is excellent when it comes to providing eyeglass recommendations based on face shape, lifestyle and price point. She also takes great care in shaping/fitting glasses, once they arrive. Overall, I'd say the glasses themselves are of great quality but are more expensive than the average optometry chain. Many of the glasses are made from smaller international brands which also adds to the price tag. After so many years, Envision continues to meet my optometry needs, and they really do go above and beyond to help their customers ensure that the fit and accuracy of their prescription eye wear meets their needs. More recently, I have interacted with Dr. Lister. She is also personable and professional. She has helped me with my contact lens trials and was very open to answering all of my questions. read more

I made an appointment at the last minute, they fit me right in during an extremely busy day. They gave me a complete exam, contact lense fitting and ordered a new pair of glasses all in less than an hour. These guys are sharp, know their business and products extremely well and Dr Rose is very thorough. She accurately identified and assessed numerous issues I have been having with allergies and dryness without being told. I was very surprised to find out how competitive their prices are as well. I was expecting a smaller, boutique shop to price above larger competitors, but Envision is very affordable. I had a GREAT experience. Envision has a very nice piece of real estate in the city-- a beautiful corner building with an eye-catching logo outside. The receptionist was exceptionally nice both over the phone and in-person. She was willing to work hard-- doing research and phone calls-- in order to fully understand my insurance. She also can communicate over email which was HUGE because many places seem to force you to use fax machines. The male that greeted me as I walked in was also very energetic and kind. Dr. Rose is one of the most personable people I could've imagined talking to. She was very nice, thorough and knowledgeable. She owns the business and I absolutely love supporting a locally-owned entrepreneurship. Two things that could be improved: 1. As a first-timer, wish they told me to show up 10 mins early for my paperwork. They ended up seeing a patient who was scheduled after me because I was not ready with the documents and I had to wait a bit longer to be seen because of it. 2. A little bit more info about the dilating drops, including how long the effects will last for would've been helpful. I should've asked, but I think it's worth them giving the 30 second elevator pitch about the effects for all patients before administering them. A GREAT PLACE. Support this local business!
