Envy Bar and Grill is in an anonymous looking storefront on busy Viking Way-dark tinted windows, hordes of smokers standing by the door that you have to pass through, carpets from the 80's, with the lingering smell of bygone bar days. But...the service is fast and friendly, and the food is excellent. We went early on a Wednesday night to try their famous Reuben Sandwich, the daily special for only $12.99! It comes with fresh-made Envy chips and their special dipping sauce-delicious. Even their bottomless soda is a bargain at $3.89. It was the most reasonable, pleasant meal we have had out in awhile-$35 for both of us. We will go again on a different night to try another of their specials. read more

This place is dirty inside, the service personel are anything but professional, they allow smoking in front of the establishment so you walk through a wall of smoke upon entering, and if you're asian, mexican, or black, you will not feel welcome there. I recently learned that they fry their wings in soybean oil. Yes it is a cheap, as in very inexpensive, oil so it is very good for their budget. I totally respect the bottom line for restaurants, as I want them to stay in business. Well, at least the ones that have good food and great customer service. However, soybean oil is one of the worst oils for humans to consume because it is so very high in omega six and generally causes severe inflammation in most people. Dang! Their wings are so tasty, and such a great deal on wing Wednesday. They cook with no flour which is great for my Ketogenic lifestyle. I was so hooked and becoming a regular for those wings. My husband ordered clam strips that were inedible. I think if was the first time he had ever sent food back, and the first time he has ever complained. I have nothing bad to say about their food, to be quite honest their food is very good. I like the hamburgers, the steak, their salads and among other things I've eaten the food is actually very good. There is one particular manager I do not like and do not trust, I do not like drinking and driving so much "like never" that I or anyone that I'm with will probably never go back to this establishment. My hot water heater broke the morning we went so after a cold shower and working on it all day, we tried to find somewhere to eat around 915. We first tried Sound Brewing- The grill is closed except fries. We come around the corner to Envy Grill for burgers. The grill is also closed, but we're told by a really nice person we can still order food at the bar. It's loud as hell (we're out w my parents), with bopping music, but we get a menu and a few beers from this sweet bartender. We all order burgers (bobs burger, envy burger, sauteed mushroom, and a regular cheeseburger) and fries/onions rings. The server was unenthusiastic bordering on rude. We started ordering with her, but she ran away halfway thru the first order to grab a pad which I really support, if the order comes out right (foreshadowing!!). She only asked one person how we wanted our burger cooked, and never brought ketchup over. After we all order, she comes back and we're alerted that, ironically, the fryer is broken. She asks what kind of side salads we'd like. My mom asks- are those the only side options? She says you can have a salad! Or nothing. Looool okay. Our food comes out- mushroom burger had cheese, salad drenched in dressing, contrary to what was ordered. My burger was somehow an appetizer/happy hour burger? Even though she confirmed we wanted the full burgers, actually ASKED if we didn't want the happy hour burger. The first bartender comes back (Danielle!! Honestly the most amazing person) and checks on us. We're like humming and hawing, trying to not complain, but she pushes. My mom had taken the cheese off and was eating the salad. She ended up comping the mushroom burger and only charging us for the app burger after they brought a brand new one. End of the day, the burgers were incredible, maybe the best in town. I really enjoy this place. It is a total dive bar with some good grub and strong drinks. There is a local vibe in addition to the pool, karaoke, and Happy Hour specials. What made me fall in love was their steak special on Thursdays-so yummy and a cheap date. The bar staff are busy but always take care of everyone at the bar and seating area at a reasonable rate. I have never had an empty glass here. The only criticism I have and the reason for a one-star​ deduction is due to the smoking just outside the door. I know this is such a pesky little issue...right? Well, not really. The door is propped open often and the smoke wafts directly into the place. I am an ex-smoker so I get it, I am lucky you are going outside to smoke but...people, it is 2018. We now know smoking is bad for you and second-hand​ smoke as well. Please designate an appropriate (more comfy and safe) smoking area further away or just keep your door closed? Thanks! read more

This doesn't look like much from the outside, but if you're looking for a great breakfast, this is the place to go! Nothing fancy about the location, interior or ambiance...it's a local's type of place. But it's clean and their cook really does make a yummy breakfast...you can even get good old fashioned shredded hash browns instead of the more prevalent fried potatoes. read more

Chicken strip are decent. Nothing to go crazy over. In fact most the night food is just kinda basic except the quesadilla. Breakfast is on point. I'm giving it 5 stars for atmosphere. The people are great. They have a juke box that you can play songs on via your phone which throws everyone for a loop on week days for dinner. Its mostly older rock crowd but throw some rap on and it really gets them going. One of the bartender's recently dumped boyfriend came in and it was super awkward. I started playing as many love songs on the juke box at possible and that took it to a whole new level of awkward. I watched a lady unite with her long lost sister there, and one of my best friends met his wife there. I have so many more stories there. Just go there for the experiences. It's 11:30 pm Monday night. We've been driving for 12 hours. My 85 year old mother and I need to pee. There are only so many options, and the pouring rain outside nixed the side of the road idea. A major hamburger chain in this rinkydink town actually locked the door in. our. faces. So I checked Yelp for ANYTHING open that might have a toilet. Up popped Envy. Fitting, really, since it was fast becoming an urgent matter. An 85 year old and 50 year old bladder was at stake. As was the interior of our rental vehicle. I got out, grabbed my cane. I retrieved my mother's walker from the rear compartment. And I figured I might have to buy a round, but it would be worth it. The bar keep was gracious and quickly directed our path. I could tell you about the gawd-awful potty breaks we had during our outing from SeaTac to Cape Flattery, but I won't. Believe it or not, I don't have the words. And that's a challenge. Envy was clean. Like better than my home bathroom clean. It was gender neutral and did not smell at all. Let me repeat... C-L-E-A-N! And much appreciated. You know that saying, "don't judge a book by its cover"? Well, that applies here! I have driven by this place several times, but the outside always turned me off. After reading other Yelp reviews my husband and I decided to stop by for lunch. So pleasantly surprised! The inside is really nice, with a decorative fireplace that adds to the ambience. Really great menu selection, tons of things sounded good. We started with fried pickles and envy dipping sauce. Super good. I had a hamburger with fries, the hamburger was perfectly juicy with some of the envy sauce on it. My husband had the French dip which he thoroughly enjoyed. The Envy Burger is one of the best burgers I've had. I love the bun and everything in it. The fries are pretty meh, and the clam strips are decent. The service is 5-star worthy though. The servers are friendly and attentive, and they stood up for us and apologized (though it wasn't their fault at all) when a guy walked in and started being belligerent because we had requested a game other than the Huskies' (which was showing on multiple larger screens on the bar side). Stopped by here on a Sunday afternoon with my husband for lunch. He got the Five Alarm Burger while I got a French Dip. My husband enjoyed his burger and thought it was decent; my french dip was pretty good too with their au jus (it's a bit too salty for my taste but not bad) - the fries that came with our food were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside with just the right amount of salt/seasonings. We were always kinda hesitant about going here because it seemed a little divey but we enjoyed Envy very much and we'll most likely be back again, since it's very close to our house. read more

The food is tasty, so if you're here for a meal, you'll have a good time. I recently came for a game of Trivia Time Live, and came early for the advertised "3-7 Happy Hour." Despite it being well before 7pm, I was told that Happy Hour was over according to "bar time." This was after I ordered my drink. Very sketchy. This place was packed, so it's not like they're not doing a lot of business and need to rip people off like that. If you want to go for the good food, go to the restaurant side. If you want to drink among a bunch of trashy locals, go to the bar. read more

Service here was almost non-existent. I sat at the bar for almost an hour before I got any service, the staff seemed more interested in there friends then they did there actual job. I asked for the bill several times and every time I was either ignored or not acknowledged. My drinks were extremely watered down and that's saying something since I only had soda and when I tried to explain this to the waitress she gave me a dirty look and told me that there was nothing wrong with my drink and that it wasn't her problem. Well...we found Envy on Yelp while passing through town and called to ask if they were playing the Seahawks game. They told us they were so we stopped in. Unfortunately at half time they turned the game on mute and started playing the worst music I've ever heard, SUPER LOUD!! When we asked one of the workers if they were going to turn the game back on, we were met with this response: "If you can name every player on the field right now I'll turn the music off". ENVY is hard to beat when it comes to value for money. After imbibing a good amount of beer at nearby Sound Brewing, we stumbled in here looking for a quick, filling dinner. All their burgers are under $10 (that includes your side of fries), and are a total steal for that price! My Cobb burger had a chicken breast with generous helpings of bacon, avocado, and blue cheese. What a delicious way to sober up. The grill side was pretty empty at 6PM on a Sunday, but the bar side seemed a lot more happening. Wow! Not only was the 2 foot Viking Dog amazing when served on a huge baking sheet pan dressed with house made condiments (the mustard is worth the trip alone!), but with the perfectly grilled hot dog set diagonally across the length of the pan and a whole pound of fries - it was one of the best hot dogs I have ever had. Brought in from a small Oregon meat company, Hill Meats, this meal was shared by the two other friends that came with me, and no one left hungry! They have a challenge also, fastest time to eat the Viking Dog, best time so far was 4:44, I might have to come in and see if I can get my picture up on the wall! We had dinner in the restaurant, and there is a full service bar next door with pool tables and was pretty busy for a Wednesday night. Great place, seems like it's Poulsbo's little secret. I've been to Envy now many times as it is my parents favorite breakfast restaurant. I would actually give them 3.5 stars, but with the 3 star system we will round down this time. The atmosphere here reminds me of Eastern Montana. By that I mean the restaurant is attached to a bar and lounge. Nothing fancy here, just good old diner like space. There are always regular people here enjoying breakfast and coffee. That part I love! I've always had decent service here too and have never had to wait for a table. On to the food... I think the best part of the food here is that they really do not skimp on portions. You will NOT leave hungry. They have very generous portions, no matter what you order. The prices do reflect that as they are (in my opinion) a bit pricey for breakfast. When plates start getting up into the $13-$14 range I start expecting more upscale breakfast as opposed to down home diner. I've tried several dishes here. The most recent item I tried was their breakfast burrito with sausage. It was good, nothing really interesting or super flavorful about it but they had a tomatillos salsa on the side that was stellar. My mom loves the biscuit and gravy. I've tried it but am not really a fan. I would love if they seasoned their gravy a bit more. My dad always gets the viking which is a ton of food. It is all done well but is pretty simplistic. Bacon, eggs, toast, hash browns, etc. I've never had any complaints about the food, it just really isn't anything 'special'. So I guess my overall suggestion would be that if you are looking for a hearty meal that will fill you up, this is a great choice. If you are looking for something a bit more refined or special to match the prices of the dishes, you will want to try elsewhere. But my parents love it, and it does seem to be a big hit with the older crowd. We haven't tried it for dinner yet, I'd be interested to see what that experience brings. read more

We're glad we didn't, though, because the food was excellent. My burger was one of the best I've ever had. I love a good dive bar, but both bartenders were horrendously rude. Didn't even bother to order food or drinks. You'd think working in customer service would want you to be somewhat decent to customers, at least to gain a bigger tip. These bartenders must care less about receiving tips and have to be millionaires because there's no way actual human beings are giving them tips.
