I wanted to try a new shop and based upon the reviews that I read I figured I'd try this one. I called at 6:03pm to see if I could come in just to get the polish changed on my toes and a design and they told me yes. I was then asked how soon could I come in and I told them in 15 minutes in which they told me ok. I arrived by the location 14 minutes after I called and they had the location closed up with the gate so I called back. When I called the same person who answered the phone told me that I said I'd be there 15 minutes ago and that they were waiting for me but now at this point I would have to reschedule even after I informed them of our conversation. I thought that was very unprofessional and that they have lost a customer before getting a chance to gain one especially with how consistently I go to the nail shop.

Okay so this part is an update I received my first pedicure today 05/11/17 after taking them on last year around November I believe ... anywho.! Price: $25 hot stone spa pedicure $20 gel polish $5 to remove previous gel & I had acrylic tips ..which I had a fill but I can't remember he cost for that. I don't know the older ladies name..but she's the primary nail tech that does the pedicures. I have yet to see her do any hand sets..(fine by me) .. Well she was really great and gentle..not rough at all..I'm not sure how strong her English is as she didn't talk much..but I wasn't looking for much that needed to be said...just a simple gel polish pedi.. Tip: $5 charge to remove gel polish. And yes they remove it correctly ..with the foil.. pic will be provided for proof. So she took her time( yes I used the work "took") ..massaged my feet ..no rush job. I had the hot stone pedicure..(amazing and relaxing) ... she was thorough when it came to exfoliating my feet.(she did it twice ) Other than that..I will give them a second round of my toes.. It's not the fanciest of shops when it comes to decor.but all the ladies are pleasant. And give respect and quality work. So yeah some people may not want to pay their prices because ..they aren't receiving champagne upon entrance. Looks have nothing to do with quality. Yeah I know I'm going hard. But I believe in their work. And I've went a mont and some change without a fill. And no one nail broke or lifted.

I came in today last minuet along with a friend but that's no excuse for an employee to act rude or annoyed. (One of the ladies rolled her eyes when I walked in and asked for a mani.) Terrible service. The other Asian lady who did my nails doesn't speak English (I'm assuming) since she was incapable of using words to tell me where to place my hands. Instead she forcefully placed them where they needed to be. And later on I heard her speaking very good English. I guess she's just a b***h who does speak perfect English but likes to play dumb. My nails look like I did them myself. They're already chipped. And the lady who did my nails missed some spots on my nails while applying the polish. She didn't even take her time. She probably spent 10 minutes on them. And she told me to pay first?? That's never happened to me before. That's just weird. She definitely didn't get a tip. Even my friends and boyfriend commented on my nails and said I could have done all that myself. I wasn't expecting this to be a fancy nail salon since its in a ghetto area, but I also wasn't expecting to see multiple dog/cat crates stacked in the corner of the salon. That's unsanitary! Overall the salon was dirty looking. And the area it's in is scary. I won't be coming back here. I'd rather spend $35 on a mani elsewhere instead of spending $12 and being treated badly. And by the way, I was not rude to these ladies AT ALL. That shows what kind of character they have. I guess they don't value their business since they're rude to customers. I hope they read this and because want them to know I typed this review while sitting in their dirty salon.

After my nail shop permanently closed I was devastated..I was lost...I didn't know where to go for high caliber, high quality nails- nails that met my standards. I searched high and low and had some really bad nail days...until one magical day I stumbled upon Envy Nails. Jenny is a nail angel! She saved me and my hands(and my eyebrows and lashes too!) my nails are always perfection, life is good again! Can I give them 6 stars??!!

So I come in here, get started on my nails. I don't look Vietnamese so I always end up hearing people talk shit. I honestly didn't think they would but they did! On top of that, she charged me for length when she end up filing down hella! 65$ for a full set with gel. I guess it's okay but for her too have my nail crooked?!? That's not okay. Has hella attitude for no reason when I haven't done nothing but greeted her and all. I told her I wanted certain colors and 2 coats but yet she did a whole different thing on how she thought was good. And she used different glitters so my nails are crooked and different. LMAO. DONT GO HERE.

Makes me think of blue water, plumerias and Mai Tai's. Loved it!

I had gotten my nails done at another salon before I went on vacation and they did a horrible job. They barely lasted a week. My coworker told me about this nail salon and after seeing the reviews I thought I would give it a try. They did an amazing job! I wanted something that would remind me of Hawaii and they did just that. I got tons of compliments. I will definitely be going back and referring everyone I know.

If you have any kind of standard or less than mediocre standards do not show up. Came here because I found this place on yelp and thought I would give them a try. SO MUCH ATTITUDE FOR NO REASON. I came on a Saturday and the place was empty, that should have been a queue. If you want to be greeted by a dirty dog walking all over the place, poor hygiene and sassy attitude come here! If not, avoid this place at all cost. "Jenny" was annoyed because I asked why she did not removed the cuticles from my nails. She rolled her eyes and stated it would be another $10 to remove the cuticle. OK, fine with the $10, but why the rolling of the eyes like that? I am not being rude, or nasty and said please and thank you. It would be nice to at least post it on the price sign. I thought that was a standard, when getting your nails done,but I thought wrong. She also does not paint all the way down to the nail beds, and is offended when I ask for a 3rd coat. NO WONDER THIS PLACE WAS EMPTY!!!!!! Sometimes you just have to do what the client is asking for even if you don't agree with that 3rd coat they may want!

I love Jenny & Sarah they both do great work, it cost to be the boss, but they NEVER disappoint. Very well kept establishment and they love who loves them, I've gone to them for YEARS, & because of the quality of the nails! I definitely recommend.

So I came to this place looking for good nail tech I feel I got way overcharge I have gotta full set $80 with Gel and pedicure $50 with Gel are usually spend about $100 but here I ended up paying $139 and I feel like I have gotta rip off and the only reason I feel like that is because my full set was even fill in right and now my big toe hurts really bad like she cut me or something, Sarah was my nail tech and I didn't get the lady name who did my pedicure and I ask her when I come back how much would my fill will be and she said about $30 so I'm like idk if I will be bad here just cause they're charging too high and the work isn't even that good. If you're charging that high then your work should be perfect and I don't feel like my nails were done perfect even though I got there at 5:30 and didn't leave till 830 still not be though,

I have been here twice. Took me two times to say that I will not be back. Jenny does an awesome job but the prices are ridiculous. I paid $65 for coffin shaped nails with no design just gel polish. That is the most I have ever paid plus it's not right! the shop is in the hood! I didn't even get champagne or a hand massage. I felt ripped off when I left. I've had better service else where.

First time here, and there were no customers so i had a quick service. I loved it! I didnt get her name but she was really quick and gentle to my nails. She did cut through my cuticle with the electronic filer but she deducted $$ for the inconvenience. My nails came out bomb!!! read more

This place is amazing. Sarah is a perfectionist when it comes to your nails. I had so many hang nails that when she was done you couldnt tell that i had hang nails. The actual nails itself were shaped right and the perfect length. and the whole staff is very thorough. My nail placr before was horrible so I came hoping that i would finally find a "nail home" and i did. Jenny even knew I was shaving my eyebrows and told me to stop if i was going to keep gettimg waxed. Overall I will be coming back. if you want a good place to go come to Envy Nails. read more

Sarah & Jenny & Guo does wonders. They are masters at their craft & now that I've found them I WILL NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE. Truly quality over quantity. They never rush their work even when people are waiting - us regulars already know the deal. They have enough if not more than enough faithful customers that come & are willing to wait because they know how fly their nails will be after. So I went in on a Saturday morning to get a full set the lady gave me a stank face n told me to come here sit here she says! Then she ask what I need I replied a full set please, Did you know she has the nerve to tell me 70 dollars!!!!! I'm Like wait huh? She says 70 dollar if you want long 15 more so total 85 bucks?! For a full set !!!!?? What the hell mind you this shop is in the ghetto and is no up to date al all! Just moved here and needed a new nail salon. I looked at a lot of shops, asked around but finally decided on Envy because of the quality and style of nails in the pictures on Yelp. No appointment, walk in only, cash only. Sarah did my nails and they are Awesome!!! Going back today for a pedicure! Love this place!!! read more

Love the place and the lady's who run it. I've been coming here for 9 years and I've always got what I paid for. People say they are too high priced but it pays to look good. I don't care for cheap work that's why I will never go any where else. The most I've ever spent was $140 a fill, fix, feet, eyebrows and design plus I use gel polish. You can go to kims or queens and pay maybe 50 less but your nails will be popping off pretty soon and that's not cute. I go every two weeks sometimes three because they still look good. Everybody has their opinion about things. But to let you know if your cheap don't come expecting to get designs on all 10 and feet with shape and extra for under 75. Remember it cost to look good and have quality$$. The area might not be the best but you'll eat at a burrito truck that's been shot at with hoodlums around it. Lol doesn't matter the area it's the work!!!! read more

This place was nice and spacious and everybody was really friendly . My natural nails were looking mangled from wearing tips for a year , but my nail tech took extra care while treating them & giving me a fresh new set at the same time . I really like this place. It's a little out my way seeing how I live in Hayward but I've been looking for a place that specializes in EVERYTHING and does it well. My first visit was on a Thursday, my day off at 2ish. It was only one other lady getting her nails done and me. It's a cute small place which I liked. Not busy and loud either. Jenny did my nails and the other lady did my 3D design and I was so impressed. Now I'll be traveling all the way to Oakland on my day off to come to the small nail shop in Oakland. read more

Full service, professional, modern, and a for sure blast! Hot stone foot massage following a sugar scrub is just what I needed after a long week. Gel polish is an extra charge but it never chips or fades so I make room for it in the nail budget, its a must! I've been coming here for longer than I can say. read more

Everybody is friendly and takes their work seriously. The owners are a part of the community - they know everybody by name and treat everyone like a friend. The prices are reasonable, equipment clean and TV to watch while getting nails done. I'm happy I found them and will keep going back. read more

I've gone once and the quality was good but wayyyy over priced. I figured it was a first time charge. I was wrong. second time i went they asked me to wait just to later find out the lady having her nails done worked there. Then she had the nerve to have an attitude like I was bothering her with my questions. Oh no i will never be back. I refuse to pay them a dime. I'd rather commute further from home then ever enter that place again. Customer service is absolutely shit. read more

Sarah, the owner at Envy Nails, makes everyone feel like she's special...she rocks every UNIQUE design ~ spend a little more to get the best artistic flair in the Bay Area! Her store is peaceful & tastefully decorated, new spa chairs, a huge improvement above the rest! We are SO lucky to have her in the Oakland neighborhood ~ there's no one like Sarah! One star because I was attended right away as a walk in. I've actually been wanting to check this place out for a while now, unfortunately I wasn't impressed. I went in originally for a fill but wanted to know how much the cost would be if I get my nails removed and have them put a whole new set with a design. The lady came at me with $120 total for that!!! I thought she was joking. I'm all about paying for quality nails, but I have been to many other nail salons in BETTER areas with HIGHER popularity that provide complimentary wine and herbal heating pads and never been charged $120 (except Laque in LA) So apparently it's $50 to remove my nails, $30 for a full set, and $20 for gel, and $20 for design(didn't even want rhinestones) Makes no type of sense! They obviously don't want work or business. If you want to charge like a high quality nail shop, please provide service like one and maybe consider moving out of E.14. Instead I just kept my original idea and got a fill with gel and paid $50. read more

This was my first time going based on Yelp reviews for Sarah. She took her time and shaped my nails exactly how I like. The only problem I had was with the price for service. For fill, shape change and gel, I paid $50. Totally worth it because Sarah was meticulous about giving me "5 star" treatment. My boyfriend loved how my nails looked and insisted that I make this my new nail salon. I will definitely be back! read more

I love Envy Nails and it's my regular nails shop. I've been coming a little over a year now. I have a fun and safe experience every time I go! This place is a gem. Sarah and Jenny do great work and really care about the health of your nails. The shop is clean, the have a great color selection and a lot of new colors like the mood colors, cat eye gels, etc. Jenny and Sarah will give you some amazing nail art. The thing is, you have to know what you want or your going to get basic nails and basic service. The only draw back is that they do not offer some services, such as dip powder acrylics. The pedicures here are also done very well. They offer two styles, hot stone spa and regular. Each ends with a good foot massage. Though the hot stone (only $4more) is absolutely worth it! The for the most part there's one person who does the pedicures and she's very gentle. read more

This place was okay. Got a decent mani pedi. On the plus side, I liked their color selections as well as their customer service. The things that turned me off about this place was that one of their employees has a dog that wanders around the shop(he peed inside right next to me), the place seems a little dirty, and the prices are a bit steep. If I go down to grand ave, you can get a decent mani/pedis for 20-25 dollars. My total here for a regular mani/pedi costed me 36 dollars. DAAAAAAAMN GIRL. read more

I only come here to get my eyelashes done, since it's pretty much the only reasonable priced service in the shop. Plus Jenny does an AMAZING job and they last a good amount of time. But everything else is utterly ridiculous. Damn near 100 dollars for a gel mani pedi? The shop has a dog in it which I hate because I'm allergic but again I come back for Jenny. There's nothing exceptional going on to charge that much. Plus when I asked for a cup of water she looked at me funny and gave me some dingy glass half full. read more

I was referred to this nail shop by my cousin while visiting family in Oakland. She said they could do Minx nails. I went to the salon on a Saturday and my experience was fine until the next day the minx start peeling off of my nails and mind you today is sunday...I was sooo pissed... I paid $45.00 for this. So, Monday afternoon I drove back over to the salon 1 and half hour drive and they were closed. Sign says open but they are closed. I called the number on the window display and go the answering machine. Left a message and still to this day have not receive a return call. After talking with other women, I realize that this salon doesnt have the problem equipment to fully offer minx. They have yet to purchase the much needed nail heater that would seal the minx to your nails. So, I will not recommend going here for Minx...I waste of money... read more

I try and make it every two weeks,being that as Sara says I'm rough on my nails (natural) and they grow pretty quick. Envy is th only place I can go and get my nails done, and they are up to par..some say they are pricey but you get what u pay for. For me that is Quality. Both sara and jennie are down to earth and open minded and will assist you even when they are ready to close for the evening. read more

Terrible service. The owner did not want my well polished behaved daughter in the nail shop. Yes shop. Not a salon. She said that there was no kids allowed and made me pay prior to my services being rendered. On top of the terrible service. I took my nail overlay off the next day. It was horrible. I will never go back!!! read more

Had a full set done that began to lift after only having them on for a week. Had been going there for more than a few months. Should have known it was going to go bad after watching them dilute certain products with paint thinner. Totally a waste of money you do not get what you pay for. The only reason they are busy is because there are only to techs. My advice keep your money and go else where. read more

However, there are several statements in your reply that are not accurate. I did not approve the final gel color. After I was told the salon did not have the exact shade from my reference photo, an employee selected what he said was the closest match. As soon as the polish was applied, I immediately said it looked purple/pink, not the bright pink I had requested. I was repeatedly told that it was "pink," despite my concerns that it did not resemble the color I came in for. I made a phone call because I genuinely wanted a second opinion to make sure I wasn't imagining the difference. After confirming that the color was not what I wanted, I decided I no longer wanted the polish. That decision was based on the final result, not because I suddenly "changed my mind." It's also unfair to suggest that your shop closing during my appointment was somehow my responsibility. Before coming in, I called and let the salon know I was on my way. Whoever answered the phone told me that was perfectly fine. If there wasn't enough time to complete the service without it extending past closing, the appointment should not have been accepted. I should not be made to feel rushed or pressured because the service continued after business hours. I also felt pressured to pay for a service I was unhappy with before my concerns were fully addressed. She was doing my builder gel mani while booking appointments, managing walk ins, checking out customers and answering calls texts, I don't know how she does it all without error but I can see why she's in charge. They are quite busy, so I recommend booking an appointment and coming during slower hours (it's never empty though!) sometimes I find myself waiting after walking in on a weekday afternoon or morning even because their customers always come back. No matter what they always find a way to get me in. They are very transparent with pricing, they will tell you how much everything is, add ons shape change etc. and it is good that they do this. This is not a cheap salon, they charge fairly for their quality of work. The employees seem happy.

I live in San Leandro and work in San Francisco but I would travel pretty far to follow Sarah from Envy Nails. Sarah does a great job. My nails last for a long time and they don't chip. I always get compliments on my nails and I never have to wait long for service. Sarah and her staff are very friendly and the nail salon has a nice relax vibe to it. I love going to Envy Sarah & Jenny are great!! I enjoy myself everytime I go. It is really like a family environment when you're there. The work is great and the service is professional. I have been going to Envy Nails for about 5 months now. And as a Nail Art Lover I must say this salon is the BEST Bar None. I even fly back to California just for a fill and pedi. I have to say that Envy Nails does an amazing job. If you are looking to get fancy Nail Art, Airbrush any designs that you can think of than this is the place. Downside is the parking otherwise i would give this place 5 stars. I also love to get my Eyelashes done here they use a Japanese eyelash glue that does not burn your eyes. I love the fact that the glue doesn't pull any of my real eyelashes. Thank you YELP!! read more

I love Sara! Her enegry was amazing! Her shop was very clean! Parking was very easy! My nails were perfect however they didn't last as long as expected, for the price I paid I expected every crystal to last and gel not to chip. Could have been something I was doing wrong but within 1 week my nails were chipping and I had lost a nail. Needless to say I loved Sara so much I would definitely go back! read more
