I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try Turkish coffee! The service and ambiance were pleasant. I ordered a regular Turkish coffee, It was so delicious, I enjoyed watching it being prepared. Before indulging in the coffee experience I was told not to drink the grounds at the bottom. The coffee was strong, rich and smooth. Their selection of baklava and Turkish delights is plentiful. I sampled a few and took a few pieces home with me. This was such a treat. I'll definitely return for more coffee and Turkish delights.

A unique stop for coffee and sweets. Take a break from the usual croissants and lattes and stop by Ephesus. We had Turkish coffee and a Turkish delight. Samples are available and so many to choose from! I truly can't remember the name of ours but it was Fig and walnuts with pomegranates. So unique, sweet but cut the edge of the Turkish coffee which is served very, very hot! A cute little cafe filled with unique gifts and lamps for purchase as well as coffee beans to bring home. The staff was more than happy to let you sample a couple pieces. Delights are $40.00 a pound so you can take. Box home. We purchased just 2 ounces and it made a fine snack.

Saw a new place open on Meeting Street tonight while taking a walk with my friend and decided to stop in. Got some Turkish Delight and baklava to go. The Turkish Demight was very good, lots of flavor, and a bit chewy. The baklava was sweet, good pistachio flavor, and not completely dripping with honey like many are. Definitely worth a stop in! Turkish Delight is sold by the pound, baklava sold by the piece. Price is a touch high even by downtown standards, but I felt that the quality justified it. J.Ja

I was excited to find this new shop! I agree with the comments about pricing. Very expensive. I think they need to dial this in. However, I loved everything I tried. It was crisp, complex, and just very good. I'm excited this shop has joined the line up in Charleston. Friendly service. I'll be coming back here!

This was my hand the next day, where most of the liquid spilled.

My hubby and I stopped in here for a drink before going on our ghost tour in the evening. I opted to get tea, and he got coffee. He also got a chocolate ice cream treat, which he enjoyed. The girl behind the counter was super sweet and chatty. I got my tea first and hubby waited for his coffee. The tea had a sleeve and a lit but was incredibly hot. After about 5 minutes we were ready to go but the lid popped off the cup and the tea splashed all over, burning my hand. I asked for a 2nd cup so I could better hold it but the girl just have me a second lid. We dat outside to eat the ice cream and then walked down the street. It was about 20 min after getting the tea and it was still hot. The 2nd lid popped off, burning my fingers. At this point, I the the tea away, never getting to drink it. Hubby liked the coffee and ice cream but they need to do dining about the temperature of the water. This could seriously hurt someone. Imagine liquid spilling on someone's lap or on a child.

We walked past the first night we were in Charleston and had a sample. The next night, we went back for baklava - walnut and pistachio. Both were outstanding! The young woman working was very friendly!

Found this lil gem as we were out at the outlet Mall. Wow guys!!…read more I Love kabab but this is the Best place for Kebab I've found so far! The girls inside greet you as you walk in and they are never without their gorgeous smiles! This place feels like one big family dinner experience! All of the girls take very good care of you. You start out with an appetizer plate of sorts; really just an accompaniment to the Hot lil bread pillows of Yum (more on these in a bit!). A corn slaw served alongside a tangy delish yogurt and some sliced Green olives. Super yum! Now the PITA? Puffy little pillows of HEAVEN. The girls put them thru the salamander oven to toast up just before bringing them to the table. so when they set them in front of you? They are Piping Hot and Toasty, with a touch of sweet.... DELICIOUSNESS!!! We were going to order the kabab Mixed platter in order to try a variety of kabab; but our sweet server told us about a better way to go! Upon her recommendation we got two of the kabab plates, complete with salad and pilaf - AND we were still able to sample multiple kabab! I got the shrimp and lamb while the hubs got the beef and lamb. Complete the plate with a moist lightly flavored pilaf and the Jerusalem Salad and I'm Tellin you!! Drool Worthy!!! The kebab are cooked perfectly? With a lil pink onboard; and the flavor? Spiced PERFECTLY! Lamb with Zero gaminess and ALLLLL the YUM!! Slightly smoky from the grill and slightly sweet in the background. With hints of Cumin coming to the party. One of my Absolute favorite spices! The shrimp is sweet with undertones of citrus and something else I couldn't quite place These puppies are ginormous and cooked to plump juicy perfection! The salad is a fresh mix of cucumber and tomatoes w slight hints of mint and parsley and lemon heightened w just a touch of salt. This place is AWESOME!!! Istanbul Shish Kabab is a DEF stop thru when your in the Charleston area. Come by for top notch service and TOP NOTCH CUISINE!! Thanks guys we Will be back!!

I ordered to-go since I wanted to relax and eat in my hotel room. At first, I'll admit the restaurant itself didn't feel as clean or organized as I would've liked, and I almost walked across to Chick-fil-A. But I decided to go with the positive reviews I had seen--and I'm really glad I did. The cashier was incredibly kind and attentive, which made a great first impression. I ordered the mixed platter for one and swapped the lamb kofta for chicken kofta. Everything was delicious--flavorful, well-cooked, and satisfying. The chicken, steak, and kofta were all done really well. I especially loved that they give extra whipped garlic (because honestly, you can never have enough), and the bread... SO good. Fresh, warm, and easily one of the highlights of the meal. Overall, despite my initial hesitation, the food and service really won me over. I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try!

They were very helpful with my questions concerning my gluten allergy. They were able to confirm what was gluten free but it is also clearly marked on the menu. The food was fresh and amazing. The hummus is homemade. I had chicken Lula and it was really well seasoned and some of the best I've ever tasted. The only downside was the price. It was quite pricy for a lunch but with that being said, I would still return for more of their food. I just wish I could have tried more of it.

What really separates these falafels is the robust range of spices and complex flavor into the traditional falafel, texture and flavors. The falafel appetizer platter came with four pieces and they were basically gone as soon as they arrived to the table as our entire family ate immediately. Including our pickiest eating family member, who enjoyed theirs too! Exceptional! The halloumi is fantastic and cooked perfectly. It had a nice seasoning on top of it which differentiated it from others I have had before. Everyone at our table enjoyed it. It came with four pieces. The grape leaves were a delight. They had a more robust complex flavor palette than Greek style grape leaves. They were served warm, however they were not dried out like sometimes grape leaves are when they're brought to a table warm. These were beautifully seasoned and had nice moisture to them. The size of each was about that of a ring finger. I can not remember hot many pieces were on the plate but it was more than 4. We ordered the chefs hummus with the pine nuts and pomegranate seeds. It was delicious and a great texture. Pretty much par for the course. My entrée was the Mujadra lentil and rice dish. The flavors were absolutely phenomenal. At first, I was thinking about getting the lentil soup for lunch, but then decided to try under the vegetarian section of the menu the lentil plate. The lentils and rice were placed in a circle mold on the plate. With pretty pieces of salad coming out from four different places. There were pine nuts, chopped, and placed a top of the rice and lentils. Everyone at the table tried my dish and even though we all four have very different favorite flavors and foods everyone agreed it tasted phenomenal and was absolutely delicious. Another family member ordered the lentil soup. They really enjoyed that and they also took some rice off of their spouse's plate and put it in the lentil soup which was a nice pairing. Spouse had the beef kebab cooked, medium rare. The temperature on the kebab for cooking was absolutely perfect! The texture pinkness, and overall cooking was beautifully done to a true medium rare. He had french fries as his side those were just as perfectly cooked as everything else that came out of the kitchen of this restaurant. They were nice and crisp with a good flavor. Three of our four family members tried and agreed they were very nicely done fries crispy all around and not floppy soft. Another family member ordered the Shish Tawook. They were completely in love and smitten with the garlic sauce that came with it. It is divine and tastes beautiful on the chicken. Rice was beautifully cooked as well. The accompaniments of lettuce, pita and oil was delicious. Dessert was baklava. Like every other part of the meal, we had it had a really nice blend of spices and flavor to it. We got it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. All of the desserts on the menu are made in house. One of our family members doesn't tend to like homemade ice cream however she liked this ice cream because she thought the texture was really brilliant for it being made in house at a restaurant. The baklava comes with three pieces. I would love for them to open a restaurant near where we live. If we lived here we would come in 2-3 times a week. Near the end of our meal, we heard some of the restaurant team speaking with another table of regulars. We overheard that they were short staffed that day as someone had called in. We never absolutely would not have guessed that. They seamlessly checked on our table, brought everything out in a timely manner, and none of the plates were hot like they had been sitting at expo waiting to come out to the table for a while. It was wonderful hospitality, with great care and checking in. Our server was a sweet and attentive person. Simply removing plates as we finished and refilling drinks. No one at our table was in want or need of anything as he kept it all well filled. I think the biggest compliment I can give is one family member always has room for dessert. They loved their meal in the appetizer so much they could not have any dessert. Which coming from them a huge dessert person is quite the praise.

While we were out walking on King Street, a local recommended Stella's, and I'm so glad they did. We walked over from our Airbnb and immediately loved the space. The restaurant has two U-shaped bars in the center, which is my husband and my favorite place to sit when dining out. We went in with zero expectations and hadn't even looked at the menu beforehand, but everything ended up being incredible. The drinks were fantastic, and our bartender/server was so sweet. Even though we were one of the last couples seated that evening, we never felt rushed and were able to enjoy the meal at our own pace. We ordered the non-breaded calamari and a shrimp dish, and the calamari was honestly the best I've ever had. It was incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, and the artichokes that came with it were so delicious. Every bite made me happy. We finished with the tiramisu, which our bartender recommended, and it was absolutely outstanding--easily the best tiramisu I've ever had. I'm still dreaming about this meal and would come back in a heartbeat the next time I'm in Charleston.

We were surprised when we walked in and the bar was actually low, with low, spinny bar seats. But it actually was pretty unique and fun! Our server was excellent and gave us great recommendations. We started with the Stella's Kalamari that had sun-dried tomatoes, capers, and artichoke hearts. It was very flavorful and delicious. Something to keep in mind here is that the portions are pretty large. Perfect for splitting dishes and a lot of food for your buck. The stand out dish for me was the spanakopita. It's a flaky, crispy pastry with spinach and feta inside that you dip in tzatziki. What's not to love about all of that?? We splurged a bit on our entree and split the braised lamb shank. The lamb itself was pretty good, but what I enjoyed most was the pasta it comes with. I would maybe suggest trying a different entree. It wasn't my favorite, but it was good. For drinks I got the Cretan, which had cucumber infused gin, lime, rosemary and thyme. It was so refreshing and just what I wanted. I will definitely be coming back here and recommending it to others!

I came here with a group of friends when we were on a lunch break working on the island. I had a Greek veggie wrap, which was pretty small. It had hummus, veggies, and tzatziki in it, but the ingredients were mixed together into a tzatziki-based "salad" rather than whole in the wrap like I thought they might be. It is also a wrap, not a pita. I love pita, but it is neat that they serve wraps too, since most places don't. Others in my friend group ordered rice bowls, which was a really large portion for your money, and one friend's gyro looked solid. One of my friends is gluten free, and if you are, you'll find lots of options here. The same goes if you're vegetarian. Everyone was able to find something here with no arguments, which is always nice with a group. The prices seem a little expensive for what you get; at least I thought so with my wrap. Rice bowls seem like a better portion for the money. I would come back again with friends, but I would try something else next time.

My lamb gyro was perfect - served on warm, puffy pita with fresh veggies and a generous drizzle of tzatziki. Both of us agreed the Greek salads were delicious, with large portions (I could not finish the entire "dinner sized" salad). I loved the different varieties of peppers- red, green, and yellow, in the Greek salad. It took our food awhile to arrive, but we tried to be patient as every restaurant is understaffed right now.
