My partner and I were hungry upon arriving at our hotel in the evening after a long trip, so we set out to find a bite to eat close by. When Adam's Kitchen showed up as a spot with Mediterranean offerings we decided to check it out. We got there just before their closing time and were prepared to order our food as takeout, but the people were friendly and welcoming and encouraged us to stay. We were too hungry to argue, and wow, did it turn out to be a lovely experience. The food was prepared fresh, came out quickly, and served with care and a friendly smile. My lamb gyro was perfect - served on warm, puffy pita with fresh veggies and a generous drizzle of tzatziki. My partner's chicken shawarma sandwich was equally tasty, but the crowning glory was the house-made baklava that was subtly enhanced with orange flower essence that elevated it to something truly special. We're here to visit the Charleston area for just a short time with so many things to do, but we're definitely making time to head back to Adam's kitchen before we leave for a stash of their to-die-for baklava, Dubai chocolate, and whatever other of their homemade treats strike our fancy. An excellent choice for fast casual Mediterranean food. Staples like tabouleh, hummus, labneh, kebbeh and dolma, as well a large variety of kebabs and platters. The grill entrees vary in price from $11.99 to $16.99 for lamb shish kebabs or filet mignon kebabs. Everything is cooked in front of you on the grill. The place is clean and comfortable, with friendly service. The food took a short while to be served but then it's made to order so that's a good thing! I honestly HATE giving bad reviews but I just ordered through DoorDash and the order was so bad we threw most of it in the trash. First, the order was wrong. Potato salad was given instead of macaroni salad. Our side of hummus was so salty it was inedible. My side of pita was lazily provided in the bag you guys must buy it in? Photo for reference. At least that tasted good. Lastly and most importantly the gyro sandwiches were so drenched with sauce we threw them out. I've honestly never had food this inedible before and am not picky. The gyros and fries are tasty but my biggest complaint is the SIZE of the gyros.......they're pathetic!!!! I'm born and raised in Chicago.....if any restaurant tried to pass off what they did, as a gyro, they'd be laughed out of business because it's embarrassingly DINKY!!! It was a scoche bigger than a piled up hotdog!!! I've been to Nick's Gyros and they know how much meat to put on, like any other place that would make a gyro. Yes, you're in Mt. P. and might not want to drive all the way to Nick's, in North Charleston; I highly recommend that you DO make that drive so that you can get the size of sandwich that is normal, and you'll probably save a few dollars to top it off!!! The taste is comparable, as well. Nick's also stays open until 2:00am, unlike Adam's who closes at 8:00...........not enough business hours and not enough meat. Most restaurants close at 9:00 or 10:00. Seems like this place just can't be bothered to have a couple NORMAL practices!!! I'm not impressed. If they can't give you the amount of meat on the sandwich, that you're supposed to have, then they're a ganking rip off because then----they're overcharging for something that you're just not completely getting!!! read more

A good place for some delicious Mediterranean food, we had a nice late lunch here. The interior could use a freshening up as there were chairs stacked near the restroom, and the retail shelves looked disheveled and more than half empty. Plus there were dirty tables yet no one else was inside eating. But we wanted something different for lunch so we stayed. The menu has almost everything you would expect from a Greek and/or Mediterranean restaurant. Probably more then they need to try and sell. But for us we had a few hits and one miss: DO ORDER the hummus. It was so delicious, and smooth. It had a great nutty flavor and was just perfect with the soft, warm pita. DON'T order the falafel. Unfortunately it was more than just dry and overcooked. Not sure how they could make this so bad. We did enjoy the gyros, though a little more sauce would have helped. Ice machine with mold. $18 plater you get half a plate of microwaved rice, other half is salad covered in something similar to wishbone Italian, then topped with a little meat. You get some dry a$$ pita with no sauce/dip. Black falafel once again nothing to dip it in. If you want tzatziki it will be $5 lol. We ate a few bites and threw it all. For these prices we could have had a high quality meal somewhere else. Never again. Just gross. read more

I love their food but not getting overcharged when ordering online. Not sure to blame the restaurant or Uber eats but I ordered a 6 piece falafel for 10.99 per their menu but got charged 17.98. I also ordered soup for 3.99 but got charged 5.99. When i called The restaurant they said there wasn't anything they could do about it on their end. Uber eats blamed the restaurant but ultimately reimbursed me for how much i got over charged. Ate Lunch here today on our trip to Costco. We were looking for Greek food. This place did not disappoint. Small. Not elegant. But definitely a Mediterranean feel. I had the lamb gyro and my wife had the chicken. We also had some fries with feta and a hot sauce concoction. The fries were more like wedge potatoes, but they also had fried garbanzo beans (star of dish). Probably the best gyro I have had. Certainly in Charleston area. We will be back. read more

Adams Kitchen is a small no frills eat-in-or-take-out establishment. The food was very good and, as other reviewers have mentioned, the staff here are passionate about cooking and serving it. When you walk in it sort of feels like they expect more of a 'take out" than 'eat in' with fluorescent lighting and minimally adorned simple tables. When we arrived, the dining area was empty and we walked right up to the counter to order but when we replied "for here" to "for here or to go" the man came out from behind the counter with excitement, led us to a table, and layed down our menus that looked like placemats but weren't. The kebabs (we had lamb and chicken) were perfectly seasoned- they must have been marinated for a while- and grilled just right. The rice is outstanding. We enjoyed the sides of hummus and the side salad was a bit over-dressed but otherwise fresh and good. It's a great addition to the neighborhood! read more

It's historically been one of my favorites and I WILL NEVER RETURN. I could get over the filth from lackluster cleaning (you stick to the floor when you walk in and out). I could get over the grumpy, semi-entitled, owner/employees (father/son perhaps?). I could get over being charged an extra dollar if I wanted hot sauce on the gyro. What I can't get over is now being charged over $20 for the exact same product that was $11 or $12 previously. Inflation. I get it. But this is opportunists trying to gouge using inflation as an excuse. I was at a breaking point before because they guys are such grumps and the place is so disgusting but I always went back because the product was exceptional. Now....never again. Once seated we noticed how dirty the establishment is....floor, windows covered with handprints and tables with crumbs and small pieces of food. Soft drink area had old syrup dried in several areas. There is noticeable dust on each of the shelves holding chips and jared goods. It was noon and we were the only patrons so I can only assume the table dirt was from last night. Food was mediocre at best. Very greasy and not well seasoned. Small portions as well. Gyro had 4 small pieces of meat thinly sliced. Ends and sides were burnt to a crisp. French fries must have been cooked in old oil and not at the correct temperature. They were soggy, soft and very greasy. Staff was very polite and friendly. Not enough to over compensate for the food and condition of the place. I suspect, they won't last long. read more

A guy who doesn't follow directions about me asking for my onions/peppers to be minced on my Philly cheesesteak, He didn't wear gloves, even with handling the raw meat or my bread, and tried to put fucking SHREDDED HARRIS TEETER BRAND MEXICAN CHEESE ON IT. NO BRO A PHILLY HAS PROVOLONE. The fries were stringy and sucked. The roll used for my sandwich was open on both sides, not ideal for a philly.
