We came to Olympik for dinner on a Saturday night, excited about sitting down to some Greek food in West Ashley, where we don't have many Greek options besides a food truck. Our first impression of Olympik was very positive, as the space "feels like" Greek. The white walls with blue shutters and the lighting above set a neat ambiance. Our server was quite nice and welcoming. While we arrived just after 5 PM, when dinner service starts, other diners started filing in. That's a good sign, especially during the holidays. I ordered a dinner-sized Greek salad, and my husband had a sandwich and a side Greek salad. We also split an order of falafel. Both of us agreed the Greek salads were delicious, with large portions (I could not finish the entire "dinner sized" salad). I loved the different varieties of peppers- red, green, and yellow, in the Greek salad. It took our food awhile to arrive, but we tried to be patient as every restaurant is understaffed right now. The falafel and sandwich were much smaller portions. I would come back for a Greek salad, but likely do an online order and get it to-go. Having bakery in the name is a bit misleading. I expected more pastries and desserts. Of course, baklava is available, but all of the cakes in the case were sugar free. It's great that these are available since many diners may be diabetic or watching sugar, but I wanted a sweet dessert. Be aware that this spot adds a 4% convenience charge for credit cards, which isn't listed on the menu. In addition, they do not sell beer or wine, and I'm not aware if they allow BYOB or not. read more

I ordered from Uber eats and was very pleased with the prices, but the food was not great. The mezze plate was buy one get one and the gyro meat was not very good. So glad I stopped to eat here! We needed a break from car shopping and found this suggestion on Yelp! Service was friendly and accommodating from the minute we walked in. We were told they recently remodeled and it shows. Fun Greek themed interior and very clean. Menu had lots of vegetarian options. We ordered the Mezza plate and the babaganoush for appetizers. Gyro sandwich, Shwarma wrap and falafel wrap for our main meals. Appetizers were fresh and delicious served with warm pita bread. Our sandwiches were wonderful and large! Fries came with the falafel and were so good we had to order more. We ordered the baklava to go. Can't wait to get home to eat it!! This place has always been enjoyable, but now that it's under new ownership and has gotten a nice cleanup and minor renovation, it looks much better. Onto the food all I can say is it is a huge improvement over what was already a tasty menu and my party and I all enjoyed everything we ordered, Mohamed took care of us and he was super kind and attentive, delivering great service, and very delicious food. A real hidden treasure! It is difficult these days to find food that is altogether DELICIOUS, NUTRITIOUS, and FAIRLY PRICED. We found it here at Olympik. The flavor parade in every dish left us dancing in our seats. I have a trained, discriminating palate and the lamb chops, hummus, rice (royally seasoned) and salad did not disappoint! I love small independent businesses! This husband and wife duo make delicious Greek food. I lived my village salad and falafel sandwich. The regular Greek salad looked like a hefty portion and very good. I tried some of a meat plate with meatballs and shish kabob also very moist and flavorful. The quality of food here has fallen from how I remember it a few years ago. The coconut cake tasted bland (almost like eating cardboard). Neither my dad nor I wanted to finish eating it. The almond cookies were ok but not as flavorful as I remember them. Because I had asked for extras, the server brought out a 5-gallon bucket from the back filled to the top with them which left me wondering just how fresh they could be. There must have been a few hundred cookies in that container. The server said they make a few batches of the almond cookies every week but still. The service here has been incredibly slow the last few times I've visited. They seem understaffed so expect a long wait for mediocre food. I'm not planning any future visits. read more

I was expecting it to be like the old Olympic Deli. The mezes platter was buy one get one free I didn't expect much and I didn't get much I mean there was only a spoonful of the meat and everything else just had a really messy display. My husband loved the gyro. I didn't care for his potatoes, and neither did he were used to potatoes being cooked underneath chicken. I guess they were really tomatoey but had a weird spice the Falafel was also buy one get one free. It really didn't have any flavor and neither did the sauce so I'm giving it three stars because my husband really did like his sandwich. I will give it another try in the future because I believe everybody deserves a second chance. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. I ordered via Quickfoxes for lunch today and am just not blown away. I spent my college career working in a family owned and operated Greek restaurant so I've either been spoiled by their food or everyone does it a little differently (or both!). The gyro meat is a lamb and beef mix, which is fine, but it is a little too dry for my taste. The gyro itself was a giant portion (and I asked for a regular), so that is good. I couldn't even fold it up to eat it there was so much meat! Their pita and tzatziki were delicious, so that's another plus. I really want to try the dolmas since they are my favorite, and will definitely check out Olympik for them to see how their other dishes are. All that being said, it's hard to find good Greek food. This isn't my favorite, but I would have it again. read more

I have not posted a yelp review in a while, but I HD to warn folks about this place. First let me say that this is no fault of the server. He was courteous and I think sympathetic. Next, let me give you my credentials. I grew up across the street from a Greek family. I have lived in cities with large Greek populations (Phoenix, Denver, LA) so I know what things should taste like. I ordered the Greek lemon rice soup, a Greek Salad and a lamb gyro. Let's start with the soup; what I was given did not resemble Greek lemon rice soup. There was no rice, there was no lemon. It was so salty as to be inedible. I pointed this out to my server, who kindly removed it from my bill. Next up, the Greek salad. The biggest affront was that they used Parmesan cheese instead of feta. The dressing was flavorless. The piece-d-resistance was the lamb gyro that had, and I will swear on a Bible to this - ranch dressing instead of tzatziki. It was the worst meal I have ever eaten. Please do not think this is a Greek restaurant. Clearly they don't know what good Greek food is. Please stay away until a new owner or cook comes on board with traditional Greek recipes. I shudder to think what the other so called 'Greek' foods tasted like. read more

I wish I had ordered a gyro plate but was wanting some good pastitsio. But instead I was let down with a combination of dry pasta and meat. Hardly any custard sauce on it, or in it, that would have made this really enjoyable. Instead it appeared either overcooked or reheated too many times. The green bean side was also overcooked, but tasty. The bright spots were the Greek salad, served in a bowl on plate. It was so large I had to use the plate to dress it and I did enjoy it. I haven't visited Olympik Deli since I moved to Johns Island several years ago. What a Greek Treat to eat. There aren't many options for Greek in the West Ashley, James Island and Johns Island area. This place is a must. The value for what you pay is worth the visit. I will make the 20 min drive to dine here. The Gyro sandwich was excellent and fresh. The gyro meat was sliced off the lamb spit and grilled to perfection. The Greek salad was so big that it fed two of us as a side salad. I would recommend this place for dine in or togo. I was hesitant to try this place and probably would not have had my fiancees mom not mentioned it as having persian dishes. (I think she was referring to the kebabs?). It's just that my experience with greek places locally have always left a lot to be desired. One day I got off work early and decided to give it a try. The menu is very sizable and offers options outside of your standard greek fare! I felt like it could be promising. They acknowledge vegetarians on their menu too, never in the past a problem when eating greek, but it feels welcoming and awesome to see options other than salad, falafel, and mezes. I went right for the dosa - a lentil made flat bread wrap that i've known to be a popular item in indian meals. It looks spongey, like ethiopian injera, but it has a wheaty flavor. The dosa can be stuffed with 5 items of your choice. I chose grilled tomato, roasted garlic, avocado, feta, and spinach. I also ordered spanakopita and grape leaves. It was all was sooo good! And it was a really sizeable amount of food. I am really happy about the prices too. Came back with my mom and our bill was $40. with all the sides and apps we get when we go out, I don't think $40 ever happens! The spanakopita is super crusty, and the grape leaves are unique in that they were cooked or coated with honey and lemon and served hot. Different than any grape leaves I have had before, but no complaints! It was a welcome difference because I really love honey with lemon on anything. I think it's the perfect tea food! I was seriously eating the grape leaves the other night, thinking "I need to make some tea". That's my recommended pairing for you yelpers - grape leaves and tea. read more

I have been so depressed since Mannys closed However I decided that since this is close to me I should try it. The best part is the feeling you get that you are part of the family. Being from Chicago where Greek restaurants are abundant, I liked this The menu is as also ample in choices. My husband had a sampler plate of chicken, gyro meat and kabob. He liked his choices. I've been eating at Olympik since the old location. When I lived on Stinson their greek salad was a go-to meal. Their hummus is great. Heavy on the tahini like I like it. I used to LOVE this place . The food is not the same . I ordered the Greek potatoes and they brought out these seasoned fries with cheese on top .
