I've used Epic Electric multiple times over the years for a breaker panel upgrade, EV charger installation, a generator connection, and other projects. In every prior experience, their electricians were professional and the quality of work was excellent. I've also recommended them to friends, family, and even clients. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was very different. This was a straightforward outlet installation. The original plan was to tie into a nearby outlet with roughly a 10-foot run. After inspecting the attic, the technician suggested using an access point in the master closet. I declined due to the condition of the opening and the likelihood of fiberglass insulation getting into the closet and onto clothing. At that point, the scope of the job changed significantly. I was told tying into the original outlet would now cause "lights to flicker," and the estimate increased to more than double the original quote. Shortly after, I was also told that running a line from the breaker using an existing attic access point was not feasible because the technician was working alone, which resulted in a new hole being cut into my garage drywall. The execution of the work itself was also disappointing. The outlet cut was placed too far from the stud, leaving a visible gap in the drywall next to the finished outlet. In addition, the workspace was left uncleaned; drywall dust, screws, and wire clippings were left behind both in the room and in the garage. As the technician was preparing to leave, I was told the cleanup would not be handled due to him working without a partner. To be clear, my previous experiences with Epic Electric were excellent, which makes this even more disappointing. However, based on this experience, I would not use them again and will no longer be recommending them. read more

We were referred by Honda to install an EVSE. Gave them the proper video and pictures. Prepaid, knew it would be roughly 4-500 higher for the longer length install. They quoted $800 on top of $500 pre-paid. I got with an electrical buddy, knew 6 gauge cost, what he'd charge. Overall this company was nice but they very much overcharge for their services. Would not recommend based on their pricing. LOTS of electricians that can do a basic EV charger install these days, and not attempt to rip you off. read more

All professional inspection reports come with estimated repair costs, unless you hire Epic Electric. Apparently you have to request the estimates separately. And when you do request them, don't expect to get it! Owner is very rude and unprofessional. If he believes he sent the report and it was never received wouldn't the professional action be to resend the cost estimate? When we first requested the cost estimate the owner should have reached out to make sure we had received it since it was not included in the original report. If you offered the cost estimate after hours that's because you know you screwed up and should have included them to begin with. We asked several times about the cost of repairs during the inspection. The owner knows they are wrong and refuses to take responsibility. Rather than defuse the situation he continues to escalate the situation. Notice he didn't mention anything about improper masking or all the typographical errors in his report. One thing we both agree on, if you want an electrical inspection for $150 with no estimate of costs Epic Electric is the right company for you. My husband says you can keep the $150. We don't need it as much as you. Consider it a gift for Kim's 1 star review on my husband's business that she's never been to. Great job, only 2 reviews on her account, a 1 star review on my husband's business and a 5 star review on Epic Electric. Pretty vindictive don't you think? If you are looking to pay $150 for an unprofessional electrical inspection with no cost estimate - Epic Electric has it! I strongly do NOT recommend anyone use Epic Electric for an electrical inspection during your inspection period of a new home purchase. They proved to be unprofessional, unreliable, and were not COVID-19 safe. Although the electrician seemed friendly during the inspection, the report was unprofessional with typographical errors and no cost estimate. When you do an inspection for a new home purchase cost estimates are crucial for asking the seller to pay for repairs before removing the inspection contingency. I would expect a company offering electrical inspections to understand the importance of a professional, complete, and timely inspection report during escrow. A professional company would have a uniform and CDC recommended mask (gaiters must have 2 layers and cover the mouth and nose). The electrician showed up in street clothes with his underwear showing and a thin single layer gaiter that he could not keep over his nose and mouth - it fell down so many times he might as well have been without a mask. read more

Unfortunately as a result of my recent experiences with them the final result of poor workmanship and a lack of service after the sale is disappointing . They sent me poorly trained unsupervised workers on two occasions and both times they left their debris without cleaning up after themselves and did things that had to be redone. When I finally got the owner to come out after multiple requests to reverse defective workmanship and a poor choice of components with his permission on film. I filmed the entire interaction. I do not recommend this company. They are incompetent in my opinion. Fortunately they at least have the decency to issue me a full refund however they never did make the installation correct as I requested. I can't say enough good things about working with Danny. He got me the quote same day, was at the jobsite when he said he would be, and did a good job with the install. He's also fully licensed and legal, offered to permit the work we were doing if we wanted. Furthermore the install did take alot more time than he thought it would, it was just difficult to navigate the beams and existing conduit. He got it done without complain though, and honored his bid not hitting me up for more money. That means a lot to me but I did offer him some other misc work same day when he was here and we settled on an amount to what we both thought was a fair amount for everything. Honesty and hard work ethic means alot when working with contractors. I'm happy I got to work with him on this project and will definitely hit him up in the future. read more

My husband and I are really happy we discovered Epic Electric. We had the benefit of dealing directly with the owner Danny and I have to say, he has earned our trust and any future electric needs, we will be going to him. We upgraded our breaker box / panel from a 100 amp to a 200 amp box. This is something my husband thought would be extremely costly and Epic Electric came through with a very reasonable quote, and also ended up reducing the cost because they had to come back and fix one breaker that wasn't working. This is where integrity comes into play and Danny really proved himself out to us. Basically, he came out Friday to do the work on the new panel with one of his co-workers. We checked everything and thought we were good to go. It wasn't until Friday evening that we realized the AC breaker wasn't working right as the fan blew hot air. Friday night, I text Danny letting him know of the issue, and it was quite an urgent one as this was in the midst of summer (I'm overdue on leaving this review). Saturday morning, Danny came back to fix it! And we found out in casual conversation with my husband that he was already at a weekend vacation thing with his family 2 hours away, AND HE DROVE 2 HOURS BACK TO OUR PLACE JUST TO FIX THE BROKEN BREAKER and then drove another 2 hours out to return to his weekend vacation plans! And he never complained about it, it just came up more in casual conversation talking about our weekend plans. Now, that's integrity, that's above and beyond, that's professionalism, that's someone you can trust, that's a personal touch. Epic Electric - and Danny in particular, whom I think is the owner - has earned our loyalty. I think other companies might have waited until Monday, but Danny was not about to let us go a hot summer weekend without AC, and so he personally drove out 2 hours one way to fix the issue and make sure we were good to go. All electrical connections have been working great since then! We will have many more projects in the future and when we do, we're going straight to Danny and his team. read more

I contracted them to install 4 ceiling fans and 4 recessed light cans. First, they showed up on time, that is about the only good thing I can say about their work. The four recessed light cans were put in, and the attempted to patch up the drywall. The patchwork was done so poorly I'm going to have someone else do it now. There's a picture to show part of it. The two fans down stairs were never installed, they drilled about a dozen holes just trying to put in one fan! They may as well have just taken the ceiling down. They ran the wire to the center of the ceiling, but I tested them and they are dead wires, there is no power to them so I'm still going to have to wire it from the switch myself. And they still left the wall sockets the switches were originally attached to to the switch so the switch would turn off a fan were it installed and the switch. Biggest thing is the amount of holes that were drilled is going to cause me to contract a whole different person. The owner of the company came, and he actually said this, that they had a few big clients today so they can't finish, and that he was booked for the next three weeks so we are going to have to go through someone else to finish the job. Fortunately for me, he said he wouldn't charge me the quoted price. Obviously. I wouldn't go into your house, drill unnecessary holes, botch patchwork, not even connect the wires I routed, tell you I have to leave and you need to book someone else, and then expect to be paid. I went with them because they had good reviews, and I can't even begin to tell you how disappointed I was. The conduct demonstrated today was completely unprofessional and the work that was done was seemingly amateurish. Use this contractor at your own risk. read more
