    We have purchased items at the store section many times . We enjoy our time there, consistently…read morefind excellent items at great prices, and ALWAYS receive friendly service. I'm absolutely baffled about the poor, disgruntled reviews I've read. I realize things may be different on the "bank" side, but I've also heard testimony from people who received goods from the NW Furniture Bank that they felt the items and services they received were good and reasonable. This heart-lead organization uses many different volunteers who may not all have excellent customer service skills. If you have a concern with how a person communicated with you, or you weren't accurately informed by someone ahead of time what the quality, costs, or processes are, it would be appreciated (and mature) if you would just inform the organization's leadership so they can work with the volunteer to improve their service, or have the volunteer help in some other way that is more suitable to their abilities. To slam the whole well-intentioned organization over your experience is just as poor as the service you feel entitled to publicly complain about.

It has been eight years since I filled my first apartment up after getting rehomed, with furniture from the NW Furniture Bank. I still look at several of the beautiful pieces I recieved that day, that I still use daily and will never let go of! The quality and selection is exceptional and the community support to donate is fantastic. I love what this organization does! Thank you so much for helping us through such a long and stressful time without comfy beds and coffee tables to set our coffee and tea on and chairs to sit on and mirrors to hang on the wall. It really made a difference to us and words cannot describe how much I appreciate what you are doing for ALL peoples recovering from the loss of a home.     I contacted Ben's Appliance about my leaking refrigerator and communicated with Elizabeth via text,…read morephotos, and several phone calls to diagnose the issue. I was given a tentative diagnosis and an estimated cost via text. When Ben came to do the repair, I was not home, but my mother was present. After the work was completed, my mother called to inform me of the total cost, which was double the estimate I was provided. I asked to speak with Ben to ask for clarification. As soon as I expressed my concern, Ben became highly agitated and began yelling, claiming the higher cost was due to taking everything apart. I had to ask him to stop shouting at me because I was simply trying to understand the charges, not to avoid payment. I also told him that I felt he should have discussed and explained what the problem was and the cost before the repair began, especially given the significant deviation from the estimate. When I told him what I was quoted, he said it was wrong and that he would "chastize" her later. After we hung up, he continued yelling at my mother in our home, then slammed the door after being paid. Once I reviewed the receipt, I noticed the reason the price was different was due to a "service fee". Not the additional labor cost to take everything apart, as Ben mentioned. Elizabeth was actually in the ballpark with the cost for the "repair". She just failed to mention the fee for them to come out. I called Elizabeth to provide feedback and to ask why this fee wasn't disclosed upfront. She said it wasn't mentioned because I "never asked." I guess I wasn't specific enough when I asked how much it would cost for them to come out and fix it. She then put me on speaker, and Ben again became defensive, yelling, and calling me a clown before abruptly ending the call. I understand that estimates can change, but fixed fees should be disclosed and discussed upfront. Treating a PAYING customer disrespectfully when requesting clarification is entirely unacceptable. I caution anyone considering Ben's Appliance.

He and wife Elizabeth work together as a team, she answers the phone, schedules and occasionally helps on the job when extra hands are needed. They are very competitive with the price and will advise if they believe the repair is not worth it on old appliances. I highly recommend Ben. RW
