The entire staff was extremely helpful and knowledgable at the new Colorado Ski & Golf Westminster location. Jeremiah was so thoughtful when helping my pick out a new snowboard, boots, and bindings. He was super knowledgable and was able to gauge my understanding of the sport to help me not only understand all the technology that defines each product, but also help me find what was best fit for ME. Not once did I feel like I was being up-sold or that they were trying to get money out of me. When it came time to check out, the manager on duty, Chad, was just as helpful. I had my heart set on a specific snowboard and he went through lengths to make sure I got it in pristine condition from another location. Checkout was easy and they made sure I got all the discounts applied that were posted throughout the store. When looking for a bike shop there are three things that I like to see: 1) Good quality bikes. Anyone who rides knows, you get what you pay for. BV in Westminster carries a LOT of bikes. If you want to ride and you need a bike, chances are they have what you want. 2) A good shop. The guys at BV are great. There are a lot of shops in Denver and I bring my bikes to Bicycle Village. If it's a quick fix they try to do it immediately. If not, they give a reasonable turn around within a couple of days and usually it's done early. 3) People who enjoy both cycling and their job. You've heard that if you like something it's not a job and a lot of people here at BV seem to embody that. They're always available to talk about bikes, rides, cycling, whatever. Well, they just out did themselves. I left my credit card and driver license at the shop ( I was test riding the bike and forgot about them). They called and I told them to mail them to my home. I didn't want to take the trek to retrieve those items. Well, guess what, someone from the shop took the trek and dropped by my house with the items. They went over and beyond expected. Did you know that bicycle inner tubes have different types of valves? As the dude would say, "obviously you're not a golfer". I know it's hard to imagine for someone with my athletic prowess, but I find a bicycle shop a bit off-putting. Thus, I really appreciated not being treated like an idiot when I had to exchange tubes. I've only ridden my bike twice since replacing my tubes, but if this becomes a more regular activity, I will definitely return to the village for my cycling needs. read more

I had amazing service today. I took in a bike tire to have them help me because I'm 57 years old and I've never replaced a tube in my bike before and a technician was so kind and helpful. He was quick and pleasant and showed me how to do it and answered all my questions. I bought a couple of items and Lucy at the register gave me the most incredible customer service I've seen in a long time. She greeted me when I came in and offered assistance at that directed me to the repair shop in the back. When I went to check out her customer service skills should be commended because her and the technician both have made me committed to come back to epic mountain care store in the future. After visiting Wheatridge Cyclery, Arvada Bikes, Pedal Pushers and Performance, I bought my new Trek EX 8 at Bicycle Village. Blake the employee who helped me was very knowledgable about the bike, taking the time to explain how every component on the bike functioned before I ever said OK I'll buy. He took the time to make sure I got the right size bike. I tried 2 sizes and settled on the smaller size after consulting with him. He fit the bike very carefully to my comvort after choosing the right size. Also, I asked about different tires and he helped me shop tires. I needed pedals but didn't have enough money to buy new ones and shoes so he took a pair of old pedals (just cheap not clipless but hey) out of the back to let me borrow them until I could come back and buy good pedals. Lastly, he convinced the manager to give me the sale price for the upcoming weekend sale even though it was only Friday and the sale price was not displayed yet. The fact is, good, knowledgable customer service is what I received at this Bicycle village, and that is what I wanted. As far as what I wore to the bike shop I guess it was colorado casual dining out business at home wedding/funeral whatever attire and, well, It didn't matter because Blake offered to help me after I had been there a little while (which I prefer over having the owner or pushy salesman up my rear as soon as I walk in) and if he would NOT have offered I would have gone and got somebody when I was ready. Be warned that the kids buy back program is only on bikes that the store managers feels he/ she could resell I've tried their online service which told me to take this bike in to sell, then the store tells me to try their online trade up program....Basically neither would do it and told me to try Craigslist... The service department is overpriced and with poor workmanship. Brake pads and front tire nuts / bolts only finger tight ....I'll be going the Derby cycle for my next purchase and service. read more

So they were very informative, that is where they earned the star. We recently purchased a house in the country, and wanted to get bikes for the whole family. We spent a lot of time comparing, and settled on five mid range priced bikes. I asked the salesman if there could be a package deal for all of the bikes. He came back 30 seconds later and said $25 per bike. That doesn't even compensate for the tax free prices we could buy on the Internet. I am all for buying local,,, but the prices including tax are not even close to what you can obtain for the SAME bikes online. The discount of $25 per bike felt more like a slap in the face to get us to leave thier store. read more

I am so sorry I bought my bike at the Westminster shop. It had to be special ordered and when I picked it up, I was brushed off and treated like shit. When I asked if I could get it adjusted to my height, it was met with a brusque "you can do it yourself this way." Snap, pound. No time to answer any questions, just a surly attitude. I'd paid for the bike when I ordered it and wanted to ride it outside the store. Mr. Personality told me I couldn't do that and it would be silly since I was taking it home. The store was unable to locate a manual for my bike and offered me one "kinda like it." We finally agreed that they would mail one to me -- we'll see if that ever happens. I can be very patient, but let me know if you're too busy and I can wait. Don't be rude and brush me off just because your store already has my money. Now I have a new bike without any adjustments or manual and a very bad taste in my mouth for Bicycle Village - Westminster. read more

We just spent about 2 hours here and couldn't be happier! Sands and Nick are the best bootfitters in colorado! I fully intended on buying a new pair of ski boots. I took my old ones just to show them the problems I've been having. They took all the time needed to adjust my old ones to the point that I love them again! Nick adjusted the buckles and put shims around my ankles and they fit le new! During that, Sands helped my husband find fantastic new boots. He has a sore spot that has always hurt in every boot. She even found a better ski for my kid that worked for our needs. Hank swooped in while I was waiting and gave me the best info and specs on the newest boards and helped me special order a Burton board. Took my Trek Remedy here for a tune up, tech (Triston) wasnt pushy, didnt over sell me on unnecessary services, actually pressured me to go with basic service as my bike came fairly clean. He agreed he would try and restore my rotors to avoid replacing them. He said he attempted, he seemed honest, and I simply told him to proceed with replacement rotors. He didnt push for the multi piece latest and greatest rotor set, and said simply replacing the shimano stock with the same is enough for my ride style.Prices compare to Amazon parts were not far off. Bike fixed, all was well, but I did have an issue on a ride, I came back a few days later, spoke with manager Peter, he refunded the tune up, and fixed the problem on the spot. I didnt ask for that, I didnt know I was speaking with a manager, I didnt expect the result, but very much please with my experience at this location, to the point they've made one more loyal fan. read more

Chris, Scott and the crew up there that had taken exceptional care of several of my friends and one of those friends sent me a pic of a bike I had to head up there and take a look at. Between Chris and Scott working with me over several days trying out several bikes, making sure each was fit right for me to ensue I found the right one, I came away with an awesome bike at a great price! I love this bike shop! My fiance and I buy all of our bike from Bicycle Village, usually during the tent sale. We live near the Westminster store and this is our go to store because of the great customer service. But, the selection at the Westminster shop during the tent sale is limited and we usually end up driving down to Aurora (my only complaint!). The employee helping me out this past weekend at Westminster - Oscar - knew Aurora had a bike that would be great for me and a much better fit (size) than what Westminster had. Oscar checked the inventory for me before I drove all the way to Aurora. I drove down to Aurora and, Oscar was right, the bike he was thinking about was perfect for me! read more

I wish I could've given 0 stars. Went in this evening to have some service done on my mountain bike. With parts and labor, the service would have cost more than a lot of the bikes in the shop. I walked in across the entire store, bike and new wheels in hand so I would've been hard to miss. Waited at the service counter for more than 15 minutes while about 4 or 5 "associates" looked my direction then acted like they were straightening clothes on racks. Nevertheless, I finally got tired of standing there like a fool and walked out. Zero acknowledgement coming or going. Considering I walked in and out with very expensive bike and components, makes me wonder how well the management knows what's going on. I average a new mountain bike every year and have yet to spend less than 5k. I will never set foot in this shop again! After today I wouldn't buy a patch kit. Nice work. read more

I was looking for a bike to get me around town and really had little idea of where to start. I did a bit of research online and thanks to my husband, I was talked into *not* getting some Target/Walmart cheap bike. He and I went to Bicycle Village and it was a bit overwhelming. I asked one of the bike dudes (Scott) for help, but he was helping another customer, though he said he would try to answer any question I had quickly and then come back to me when he was through with the other patron. Like I said, I was lost. Like i complete dork i just looked at him and was like "ummm... I need a bike". I then managed to add "a hybrid" before he could become completely exasperated with me. "Perfect" he said. He asked me a few questions about where i would be riding, what kind of dirt paths i might encounter, etc... He then showed me a few bikes and told me to take them around the store. I tooled around a bit (my first time on a bike in 7 year...it's true, you never forget) and was completely undecided. Then Scott became super amazing. He finished up with his other customer and he asked me a few more questions and asked me my price range. I said i was looking for the $400-600 range. he actually found me a bike for UNDER my price range (359.99). To make a long story short, he spent 3 HOURS with my husband and I fitting our bikes, (and refitting, and refitting, and digging different sizes out of the back, and refitting)... Now, the fitting wasn't necessarily because either of us was uncomfortable- he genuinely wanted to make sure that we had the right posture, that i didn't over extend my knees (apparently long-legged bendy people are prone to knee injuries that way (learn something new!)), that our elbows bent correctly, and that yes, we were comfortable. OK so let me tell you, Scott is a trip and a half. Super funny guy. it basically went "Adjust, readjust, joke, song, joke about a song, adjust, ride, readjust, joke, ride, yell out a joke while you are riding around..." for each of us, for 3 hours (a bike and a show! no cover charge!). PLUS he was helping other customers at the same time. he never missed a beat, he handled my confusion like a rock star, and he got us a deal. Seriously, this dude was fantastic, if not magical. And I totally knew he was our kind of people when he suggested we look at the coconut drink holders for our bikes. Awesomeness. THANKS to Bicycle Village and the Spectacular Scott! read more

My daughter and wife visited today to learn more about the brands carried and be properly sized. The staff were very unhelpful and rude. Seemed more interested in shooting the breeze than helping out. When coerced to provide assistance they gave one word answers, put my daughter on a grossly mis-sized bike and were of no help. Typical bad big box store experience. Skip this shop and head to one of the smaller local shops with knowledgeable staff. You won't pay any more and they will help you find the right bike for you. read more

Kudos and 5 Gold stars to Blake and Chris. I bought a carbon fiber road bike at the huge tent sale in Aurora and then the following week took it to Westminster to get fitted. Guess what? The bike didn't fit - it was close. Just not quite right. Sooooo, these 2 guys went above and beyond to fit me and figure out the best bike for me. And I wasn't an easy fit - they scoured the store for the bikes, switched out stems and pedals, and adjusted 4 different bikes to my measurements and I test rode them all. Their customer service and knowledge was amazing. They understood the intricacies of road bike fitting (it's an art and science) and knew what to adjust when I gave them feedback. And the best part - the whole time they did it with a smile and answered all my questions - even the dumb ones. I got a refund for the wrong bike and was told which store to get the right bike along with all my measurements and the new stem i need. I would trust them with my bike needs. It may make sense to call ahead to make sure you have an appointment for a fitting. Great job bicycle village. read more

Not hugely impressed - my wife purchased a bike there a year back and it was not exactly setup correctly - the wheels needed truing - likely they had been balanced by a factory machine and the rear axle bearing had too much side play. I trued the wheels but made her take it in for the bearing adjustment - and she said they didn't exactly seemed thrilled about making the adjustment. So at Bicycle Village as a selling point they provide a "free" annual tune up. Although I have serviced both my bikes and my wifes for over 25 yrs - I had her bring it to Bicycle Village for the "free" tune up. She was told that the chain needed replacement as it was stretched and the freewheel cassette needed replacement. As she did not ride the bike much in the year of ownership - this was complete nosense and the cassette clearly is not anyways near worn to the point of needing replacement. The recommended replacement items would not have been free. IMO - no better than a car shop that provides free vehicle inspection and then the owner is told multiple repairs are needed. Buyer beware. read more

I visited several bike shops last Monday and Bicycle Village was one of them. My wife and I were searching for her first road bike. Bicycle Village was the worst place we visited which was interesting to me because the place looked great and they seemed to have a good selection. The sales staff would not leave us alone. They are primarily concerned with making a sale which is not the same as helping us find the right bike. I felt that after the first person asked us if we needed help and we let him know that we just wanted to browse for a while that we should be left to do that until we had questions. Five people asked us if they could work with us within about 10 minutes. It was annoying and it drove us out the door; we just couldn't shop like that. We did up finding another bicycle shop where the folks on the floor didn't work on commission and we found a great bike for my wife the next day. - I will won't go back to Bicycle Village and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more
