I bought a whole new set for the season and Alex was so patient with me and my child. We ended up spending a lot of time with Alex and he answered all of our questions. I have been getting my rental gear here for the last two seasons, and also started making purchases here for my own collection. I never know when I go if I'll be met with someone kind and professional, or someone who just wants to rush me out the door. First, I'll say there are some people I've worked with there who have been very helpful and kind, but unfortunately, it's not consistent. I left my water bottle there by mistake during my last purchase. I called the store and the guy who helped me found it on the bench and said he'd have it behind the desk for me to retrieve. I went back less than 48 hours later to return my gear and pick up my water bottle, and it was gone. The person working told me he didn't know anything about it and brushed it off. I pressed the issue saying it should be stored somewhere and I live on the other side of town. (I make the drive because this place has been recommended to me.) He took my number down and told me he'd talk to the guy I'd spoken with to find my bottle, and they'd call me. I never got a call back and I never got my water bottle back. It might sound petty, but also how do you lose someones lost and found item after being told I could come pick it up within two days, and then not even follow up? Serious lack of customer service and I'm pretty over it at this point. read more

I've rented from here three times and I'm pretty surprised to see such low ratings. I've always had a good experience here and found the staff to be well informed and friendly. What I like about this place is their generous policy (ex: if you rent after 2 pm on Friday, the items arent due back till before noon on Sunday), and the fact that you can also rent apparel here. Jackets and pants are $8, gloves and goggles are $3, helmets are $8 and skis are either $22 or $30. For the price and convenience of renting, I would say this is a great deal. They also have a punch card, so afte renting skis 5 times, your 6th rental is free. You can also purchase apparel/equipment if you want. I only wish they had a more central location or more locations to rent from. Will continue renting here. read more

We rented 3 snowboards and 3 sets of boots and skis. My sons snowboard had some damage when we returned it, for which the blonde guy wanted to charge us $348. Ok, I guess... But: 1. He got really aggressive about it. 2. My other sons ski boot was damaged before he put it on ( tongue was ripped out, it blocked the circulation in his foot and he couldn't feel his toes when he got to the top of the first chairlift). 3. Lots of other reviews on here about aggressive customer service.4. I left the shop feeling angry and disrespected. I would never go back and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone else. read more

This place was recommended by a friend and ever since renting from them once, we have taken everyone that comes to visit during Ski Season here to pick up rentals before heading up the mountain, I have never received better service anywhere else. I took a trip up to Lake McConaughy last Labor Day weekend, and no trip to such a big body of water would be complete without some jetskis. So you got a few options, buy your own jetski which could run you $10k and upwards. Or become friends with someone who already owns jetskis....(you leech). Or you can rent....(score) I found em online through a Google search. They rent out a lot more than just boating equipment, ATVs and snowmobiles if I'm not mistaken. And they had all the extras to go along with em like waterskiis, tubes and boards. I wanted to rent a jetski to Lake McConaughy since renting at the lake would cost an arm and a leg (they charge by the hour up there). I made my reservation a month in advance. I rented a jetski the entire weekend Saturday through Monday. At no extra charge, they allowed me to pick up the jetski that Friday night, bonus. One of the guys at the shop gave me a safety run down checklist and showed me all the operations of this specific jetski. They supplied me with a trailor, gascans, and 6 life jackets at no extra cost. The jetski itself was nice. On the outside, you could tell it was a rental. There was a lot of cosmetic damage and scratches here and there. I really didn't mind, it's not like I was going up to McConaughy to impress anyone, my lack of time at the gym proves that o_0 . Once in the water, the SeaDoo ran like a champ! Always started, never bogged down and had a lot of power. Being a 3 seater, it never flipped over and handled very nicely even in choppy waters. Returned the jetski that Monday, and after a brief look over of the jetski by the clerk, to make sure I didn't destroy anything on the watercraft. I was free to go. Success. I may as well break down some pricing. To rent my jetski for the 3 days cost around $500. And required another $500 deposit for any damages. This isn't cheap, but I think it was well worth it. The yokels on Craigslist won't rent out their jetskiis for multiple days and will charge a lot more per day. Jetskiis are a helleva lot of fun, and fun costs money...and $500 for 3 days is a good value. The business must see a return on their investment as well yannow. I highly recommend them and will use them again next summer. read more

If you want poor customer service this is the place to go. Staff from the management to the workers are incompetent at answering questions and being polite. Especially when it comes to questioning their policies, they cannot provide answers to where the polices are located for reference on their website. Reserved 4 sets of equipment for an AM pick up came in at 11:45AM to pick up the rentals and was told I would be charged for a full day unless I came back 2 hours later at 2:00. After trying to get clarification on where this policy is stated, I was only told that is the policy and that's how it is. Even though nowhere on my reservation paperwork or website does it state this policy. God forbid you ask a question and expect a decent answer minus the attitude. Upon reading other reviews seems this is par for the course in this establishment. You get what you pay for here, discounted rates equals discounted shoddy service. Better off going to Christy Sports on Wadsworth or even Crystal Ski Shop in Boulder. They are happy to explain the policies and procedures without being condescending. Save yourself the time and money by going elsewhere. If the staff or management of this business cared at all about customer retention they would be better at their jobs. As an avid outdoor family we were planning on utilizing the proximity of this location frequently throughout the year, unfortunate for them that they could not be kind enough to make longtime customers out of us with what would have been our initial transaction. However I am happy to drive a little further and pay a little more for a business that actually values customer service as an integral part of the way they run their business. read more

I needed a tune-up (and some work) on my snowboard so came here to the new location for the 1st time (they used to be on the SW corner of 88 & Wadsworth, now they are a couple blocks east of there) and was very impressed. The person I talked to about my board was very polite and just extremely knowledgeable. I'm probably a year (maybe two) from buying a new board so I was able to get information and really like that Sports Rent does both rentals and sales so that I can try out different boards before I buy. read more

The manager and staff members we worked with on our rental arrangements were outstanding. We rented two large jet skis plus trailer for about a week when we went to Lake Powell (in June 2021). The staff were super thorough and helpful during check-out, and you can tell they care about the equipment and want you to have the best time possible while using it. They educate people about taking care of things, and that makes it possible for the next renters to have a great experience too. Of course there's normal wear and tear, but it's a culture of everyone being careful to keep things looking and running great. Returning the jet skis was super efficient. Water craft renters beware. This operation slaps shoddy patches on damaged watercraft (lipstick on the pig so that you can't tell there was damage), they film the craft with a low resolution camera when you check it out, and when damage occurs to the weak original repairs (that they don't tell you about, and even deny) they take your entire deposit. I have proof. They don't care as long as they take your deposit. They then slap another short-cut repair on the same spot and don't plan to fix it properly. That's not speculation, that is directly from the conversation I had with them. read more

I am extremely disappointed with how my order was handled at sports rent. I ordered a groupon for a one day rental for bindings and a board and i also added on a jacket, pants, and gloves. It seemed all well worth it to me because of the groupon so i drove all the way from aurora. It all came out to a reasonable total and i left with my things. Unfortunately my car tire popped the following morning and i called the shop immediately. I explained my situation to them and they were very understanding over the phone. They said that i should bring back the gear and they will give me a voucher for another weekend. I spend the entire day trying to get this new tire put back on to my car, spending unwanted money on the tire; i was really looking forward to dropping off my rentals and receiving the voucher. I return to the store at ~5:00. Mind you i live 30 minutes away and my car has been in the shop all day. I explain that i talked to someone on the phone earlier today and they said i could get a voucher for another weekend. They reply actually no you should've dropped them off in the morning. No one ever told me such thing on the phone. I tell her my situation again. She says that's just company policy. Almost $40 wasted on top of this new tire and I'm just upset and wish someone would show a little compassion. I'm disappointed in how they handled the situation, i would've rented from them multiple times after that.L, but there's no way I'll be returning now. read more

Most current technology in skis & snowboards. It's typically pretty crowded on weekends so make a reservation online!! The tune shop I top notch, best in the region. The prices are better than anyone for the product you get. Best boot fitting in the business as well. They really try to make sure everyone has a good experience on the slopes. read more

We made an advance reservation for our rental online and then was called by skylar to confirm all the information and time of pick up. When we arrived they said the reservation was for three days earlier. I showed them my confirmation with our correct date. Dylan had to take all our information again and it took more than 45 minutes to get our rentals. At the end Dylan said that he had found our rentals set aside in the back. The skis I got were longer than I requested and my wife and I never liked the demo skis we received. She was so unhappy after the first morning that she took a break for a couple hours after lunch. When she skiied down for the last run she fell and broke her knee cap. She could no longer ski the rest of our vacation. When we returned the skis I told Dylan we were unhappy with the skis and the wait at pick up. I only asked to refund the $30 rental insurance. The manager Eric refused to do this and said it was no big deal that we had to wait an extra 30 minutes because of their screw up with the reservation. I was astounded at their lack of customer service and compassion. read more

I've been renting here for years as I teach my kids, and wife to snowboard. They rent high end, latest model boards bindings and boots. Good place to rent to try boards before buying. All the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Only downside is that people are finding out how great it is here so it gets pretty busy during holiday weekends. We were very happy with these guys for several reasons! First they gave us a great deal over Labor Day weekend and were very patient with us as we kept changing our minds on the drop off date. Their customer service is great and even through in a tube for free (with jet ski rental). They didn't charge us for anything unnecessary when we dropped of the jet ski like Extreme Sports did the year prior. We take good care of our rentals and are happy to find a place that appreciates that and our business. We rent a jet ski every year (among other things) and will be using this company from now on. read more

Solid place. I own my own stuff so no rental experience, but I do take my boards to get serviced here since it's the closest place to home. Recently took a couple boards in for the platinum service, and one of them had some top layer damage. I had been told before by someone else that this repair would be a service in and of itself, and could be costly. These dudes, without asking, did it for no extra charge! Great service right there. A time previous(was a season or two back), I called in the morning on a busy weekend and they said they would get it done the same day for me since I was heading up early the next morning. The guy I talked to on the phone wasn't the guy at the counter, but he still honored the finish time the other guy told me. Would definitely recommend this place for your board/ski servicing. I've always said you've gotta give credit where credit is due. and this place has earned it in my book. read more

We picked this place based on two things: I found an online coupon for the gear we needed, and the location. We were very pleased with our initial experience. Even though they were busy we received speedy, attentive service. However, during our trip, 30 min into our day on the slopes, one board's binding lost a screw. We reluctantly spent an hour getting to the repair shop and having it replaced. Within an hour of returning to the slopes another board lost a binding screw. It was incredibly infuriating to spend another hour trekking to/from the repair shop. What really set me off was the response from the employee checking us in at our rental return. I asked if they do anything about boards losing screws and he retorted "yah we put another screw in". He proceeded to dismiss our poor equipment with the excuse that there's so much torque the screws eventually come loose. In the 10 years that I've been boarding I've never had a screw pop out. Next time I'll pay the money to rent some solid equipment somewhere else. read more

This place comes across as a good idea.... But do not trust them. We had reservations for when they opened and over an hour later they still weren't there. The neighbors said they are rarely open before the liquor store... If you want to be respected as a client, customer, or even person, I would not recommend this place. When your neighbors carry running jokes about the people waiting outside everyday I think it may be in your best interest to be on time occasionally or change your hours... read more

These guys are awesome! I made a reservation for one day of snowboard and ski rentals over Instagram messaging. The shop does get really busy on the weekends so I advise anyone to make a reservation the day before. I did do a walk-in on a Friday with the weekend warrior crowd and I left with a Never Summer Chairman with no problems. I would highly suggest you ask for Dan when you go in. He is by far the best dude working there. He knows so much about everything and he will make sure you're happy. This is the only place I will rent when needing a sick rental. If you want some sub par quality go elsewhere. read more

We went in and rented out a boat for the weekend and made a somewhat long drive to carter lake in loveland, come to find out one of the engines was not producing any power so we had to make the long drive back and return the boat. My review will echo the previous poster a bit in that we got the online coupon for 2-day rental as well, and had a major issue mainly just with customer service. So first day was more or less fine, except the tech helping me was visibly impatient, even though I didn't really take that much time. They were fairly busy though, so whatever. Second day though, I asked to pick up a bit early, since I happened to be close by already and didn't want to drive back again later. Same tech again, on the phone tells me "ok, I'll let it slide". So I go to pick up. There's a few people in there, but not super busy. I wait my turn and then the tech gets seriously passive aggressive and brushes me off. Another tech called me up when he was ready, so I try again. The bitchy tech sees this and gets visibly mad, comes over and lectures me that every one else in the store (2 or 3 people) is waiting to rent that day (it's 12p), so they need to be helped first. This would have been *sort of* understandable except at I had called 2 days earlier to reserve the exact same package I used the first day -- which he told me on the phone they had ready already! So, all that was needed was a quick checkout. Plus honestly no one else seemed to be in a rush at all. Anyway, I fume about his passive aggressive BS and just take off for lunch. Come back at 1:30p -- place is empty, so no problem I thought. Then I suddenly find out I can't get the same demo package I got before, and instead a lesser one because they're apparently out of stock of the skis at my size. No word of this earlier or when I made the reservation. I would give this place one star, but the other techs actually seemed pretty nice, so they partially make up for the blonde tech's boorishness. Bottom line, there's plenty of other places to go for better experience. read more

These guys suck! They advertise all over the Internet about their season ski rentals. Then after driving an hour to come get some skis, they tell us they aren't doing season ski rentals yet and may not depending on how busy their daily rentals are. You know, it's really ok if you choose not to do season rentals. It's not ok to advertise that you do, and then decide you don't want to because you're making too much money in daily rentals. I will never use these guys again for rentals. read more
