I don't go to the movies very often. Between the prices, and the obscene political wokeism that has engulfed much of Hollywood, I've decided to spend my money elsewhere. However, I put my personal feelings aside with the long awaited release of "Top Gun - Maverick." Tom Cruise is an expert at his craft, and does not try to indoctrinate people with his political beliefs. Instead, he does what he does best - act. Epic Theaters in Palm Coast was the perfect spot for us to view this LONG awaited sequel! The theatre was clean and neat. The seating comfortable, and the staff super friendly and accommodating! The movie was.....awesome. Period. Entertaining, heart-pounding, and FUN! That's what a summer movie should be! Bravo, Tom.....nicely done, Sir! Thanks Epic Theaters!

It only has three theaters and are typically the most popular movies at the time. We've been a couple times and they are usually big box office movies that we know will be there. The tickets are super cheap, I think we paid $5-$7 max on a ticket and you purchase them at the concession counter that takes up the left side when you walk in and on the other are some arcade games. It's not super new, it feels a little dirty and old, but it's not terrible all things considered. Inside the theaters there are a good amount of seats with pretty stiff seats which thankfully have cupholders. Where my gripe really comes into play is with the cleanliness of the theaters. If you make the mistake of looking up you will see that the ceiling isn't covering all the piping and whatnot up there. And everything has just an incredible film of dust. It's just awful to look at. At any given moment I'm afraid that the vibrations from the sound will just knock a giant blanket of years worth of dust over everyone. How the employees are constantly sneezing or getting sick is beyond me. Other than that, the theater is nothing fancy, but a decent place to watch new movies. I believe it's the only option within maybe 30-45 minutes and I'm sure we will be back again.

The deputy said that parent just come here and drop off their tweens and up and then when they get into mischief, they call and their parents are drunk and they can even come pick them up., There's always a pack of teen boys at the Walmart in the next plaza, running around like idiots in the store and on the sidewalks. They're loud and obnoxious and think this whole plaza is their playground and yeah, they're probably about 16.. There's no cops at the Cinemark in Orange Park. I'm sure.. The lobby is very open, with a bit of a strange layout and self-serve kiosks over to the left, which we've used twice. This might be a Regal thing, but the kiosks were not super user-friendly, with a lot of extra steps that you don't really anticipate if you have any familiarity with things like self check-outs. For example, when you get to paying, rather than just swiping your card you must first select that you are swiping your card. I have only AMCs close to me, and am used to their kiosk software, which is much more intuitive in many ways. The three times I have been, the theaters have been clean and well maintained, with good quality projection and sound. I have just three complaints. First--and least under the control of the theater itself--many of the patrons of this theater seem to be older folks who don't seem to understand that when they speak at full volume, everyone else in the theater trying to enjoy the film can also hear them. Secondly, all three times I have been to this theater, an employee has come in midway through the film, holding a giant red lightstick, and walked over to inspect the emergency exit. I assume this is some kind of safety precaution, however, I have never seen anything like this in any other theater. The last thing is just that the bathrooms aren't always the cleanest. I'm used to sub-par public restrooms, but like anyone I prefer if it were clean. My girlfriend and I both use MoviePass, but my mom or dad usually comes with and tickets are only $6 on Tuesday so that's when we tend to go!

My back ached the entire time and still hurts hours later. If you need lumbar support, beware. I knew during previews the seats were a problem and that I wasn't going to be able to get comfortable. Thank goodness the theater was empty because I had to stand in the aisle to stretch and pop my back just to finish the film. I also couldn't even sit in my assigned seat because the pleather material was cracked so badly that it was scratching and poking the back of my thighs- because I was wearing shorts. Never again, especially for a $22+ premium ticket. They desperately need to upgrade these seats.

The staff is always super friendly and the popcorn is always fresh! For our first 5 years here, my family and I had an annual pass. Such an amazing deal that was! You could get unlimited documentaries and 50% off newly released movies. Plus, you got coupons for free drinks and popcorn. In addition, each member received one free entry to the World Golf Hall of Fame Museum. And there used to be mini golf available that was unlimited as well. We've seen it change over the short time we've lived here and sadly, they don't get the patronage you'd think. From what I understand, from the start they were supposed to have an off ramp going directly to the area...but that changed and it didn't happen, and inadvertently hurt the area from the start. A lot of folks don't even realize there is an IMAX here or anything else. I suppose for most folks it is rather hidden back in the World Golf area. So sad really. The area has so much potential and the theater was one of the main things that was holding on. But they can't hold on anymore. That said, the time is coming very soon for them to close their doors for good. If you haven't checked out the IMAX and want to...you better hurry up! The theater and museum were going to stay open until December, but are now both closing their doors 1 Sep. Check out their website for showtimes. Yes, yes...there is a ton of parking and it's easy to find and a nice walk from any parking lot in the area. If you aren't familiar with the area, then use your GPS. It is a pretty drive back in here as well. Once you get here, you may be pleasantly surprised...it is very pretty. I'm sad Shell is closing this location, but I get it. I surely hope another theater group picks up where Shell is leaving off and reopens this theater again one day. It will certainly be missed!
