Went today to see a movie here. What a great little theater. The theater is small and not a typical movie theater setup. The seating area consists of tables and comfortable chairs. The concession stand offers a nice variety of items including quiche, hummus and pita, pretzel bites as well as popcorn, candy, etc. They also offer beer and wine. The prices are very reasonable. Very nice experience with very friendly staff. Will definitely come back again. read more

We have stopped here for movies and their comedy nights. It is a fun and refreshing setup with tables and couches and high tables inside. The movies were great so far. They are not blockbuster so they have been more interesting to watch. The improv comedy nights have been great fun. It is a decent price and and they have concessions from food to wine to popcorn. Always an interesting film showing at Cinematique, which is a non-profit arthouse theater. Concessions aren't as overpriced as the big chains, and that includes wine and beer. Classic films are free once a month for members, but everything else is new. read more

We enjoyed an evening of comedy last night. We invited out of town friends and each of us had some good laughs. While this is not the Hollywood Improv, Punchline or Comedy Store, everyone has to begin their career developing both their material and delivery. Each comedienne gave it their best and each were entertaining. And you can't beat the price for a few hours of fun! Popcorn and beverages are available at reasonable prices. The seating is welcoming and not jammed together. Of course the best thing about Beach Street is plenty of free parking with restaurants and shops nearby. The sound system works well. And the staff couldn't have been more kind and helpful. Next on our list is to return and enjoy a movie night. read more

This place is great! A family owned place that serves food and shows quality films. They have ladies night on Wednesdays. Shows start at 5 and 8, I think. The room feels like a living room with couches and tables. The staff are really nice here. The food isn't bad either! We enjoyed everything except the chicken wings. Will be back again and again. Went to see standup comedy show last night. The only thing missing was the comedy! Childish behavior seemed to be their high point. Zero knowledge of the craft of standup. The performers laughed at their own jokes. With support from the other sad sack performers,it was more like group therapy than entertainment.. no high points! read more

We went there for the improv, which was hilarious! This was my first time at improv, and I didn't quite know what to expect. I loved it! The show was 13+, and it did have some risqué topics. For five dollars, it was definitely worth it! The cinema was very nice; the seating in the back was comfy. I didn't hate this place is was a little uncomfortable to sit for hours but it's a cute place and the drinks "soda" are a little expensive but nothing that other theaters don't charge. Overall not bad just needs updated. read more

I cannot get enough of this place. I love its quaint and comfortable environment to watch a lot of independent films that doesn't go through the mainstream theaters. My hubby and I went there Tuesday night, after having wanted to go there for years. We were very happy with our experience. The movie was preceded by an improv troupe which we enjoyed very much. The movie, "aka Doc Pomus" was quite fabulous. The seats are comfortably padded with tables, and there are two nice leather sofas in the front row. The staff are friendly and obviously true lovers of film. The popcorn was delicious. And the screen is very big. I couldn't ask for more in a small town (or big town for that matter) indie film house. read more

I went to Cinematique last night with my husband for the very 1st time! We saw "Cave of Forgotten Dreams". Love this Indie Theater! So glad I found out about it! It's smallish, but in a good way! There's 2 couches right in front of the screen, which is where we sat.....very comfy! The rest of the seating is tables & chairs. They serve food & drinks which we did not partake of. They have many upcoming movies that I plan to go back & see! All in all....I am SO glad that this theater opened for those of us who like movies that are not so mainstream. They also show ballets & operas! And...we were able to park right in front of the theater! Super location too! read more

This is a great little cinema! Clean comfortable viewing area with chairs at tables, stools & sofas. The lone attendant was very efficient getting me a glass of wine & freshly popped pop corn to enjoy during the movie. They get many highly acclaimed indie and foreign films. The Cinematique deserves to have a better theater. And that is my only complaint. I'm grateful that it is in Daytona, since there aren't any other options to watch anything outside of mainstream cinema in the area. Their programing is fantastic. There are a lot of special events continuously, so do check their calendar. My husband and I used a Groupon for our first visit to Cinematique. The movie was excellent (The Best Offer), and along with our Groupon drinks and dessert we ordered sandwiches. Just visited Cinematique of Daytona for the second time. Saw WAR - it was a very very good Movie. Such a unique theater and the people there are very nice. Great, quaint, friendly place to see a movie. Yes, it is unlike any mainstream theater but that is the whole point. From the movie genre to the seating to the concessions, this is a great spot. I've been here probably 20 times. It's a very relaxing and quiet place to enjoy the variety of entertainment they offer, I've gone mostly for the movies. The movies are always different and I've never been disappointed by the selections. I prefer this theater to a regular theater because the clientele is always respectful (people don't talk, use their cell phones etc and distract from the movie). The staff is always very attentive and friendly. You can order food and beverages and eat in the theater. The hummus is my all time favorite thing, and they always have a $20 wine bottle on special that my husband and I share. Highly recommend this place for movie/date night. read more

They always play the worst movies, I know there are better independent films out there. The last time I was there the projector went out, the movie did not start until 20 minuets after it was supposed to. They only exist because Daytona city officials give them money because they are "nonprofit" psshh, I would rather go to the Enzian theater, they have better food and movies read more

I hadn't been to the theatre it a few years. However, I heard about the movie I am not your Negro by James Baldwin. I said to myself this movie will not be showing in Daytona Beach. I was pleasantly surprised. It was playing at this theatre. The movie was great and the discussion after the movie was enlightening as well.
