I like this place! This is the most convenient theater to my parents' place in Port Orange, and I've been three times now. The lobby is very open, with a bit of a strange layout and self-serve kiosks over to the left, which we've used twice. This might be a Regal thing, but the kiosks were not super user-friendly, with a lot of extra steps that you don't really anticipate if you have any familiarity with things like self check-outs. For example, when you get to paying, rather than just swiping your card you must first select that you are swiping your card. I have only AMCs close to me, and am used to their kiosk software, which is much more intuitive in many ways. The three times I have been, the theaters have been clean and well maintained, with good quality projection and sound. I have just three complaints. First--and least under the control of the theater itself--many of the patrons of this theater seem to be older folks who don't seem to understand that when they speak at full volume, everyone else in the theater trying to enjoy the film can also hear them. Secondly, all three times I have been to this theater, an employee has come in midway through the film, holding a giant red lightstick, and walked over to inspect the emergency exit. I assume this is some kind of safety precaution, however, I have never seen anything like this in any other theater. The last thing is just that the bathrooms aren't always the cleanest. I'm used to sub-par public restrooms, but like anyone I prefer if it were clean. My girlfriend and I both use MoviePass, but my mom or dad usually comes with and tickets are only $6 on Tuesday so that's when we tend to go! read more

I went to the 4:30 PM showing of Spider-Man today (Aug 19) in Theater 7 (RPX), and it was the most uncomfortable experience I've ever had at a movie. My back ached the entire time and still hurts hours later. If you need lumbar support, beware. I knew during previews the seats were a problem and that I wasn't going to be able to get comfortable. Thank goodness the theater was empty because I had to stand in the aisle to stretch and pop my back just to finish the film. I also couldn't even sit in my assigned seat because the pleather material was cracked so badly that it was scratching and poking the back of my thighs- because I was wearing shorts. Never again, especially for a $22+ premium ticket. They desperately need to upgrade these seats. read more

The seats are very uncomfortable. We didn't have a lot of room and the people in front of us kept purposefully banging their seats back into our knees. The sound in the theater was also very low and I could easily hear others having conversations. People were on their phones and even recording and no one really seemed to care. The one thing I will say is that their drinks are a decent size and they let you butter your own popcorn - so, yay? I wouldn't recommend this theater if comfort is your thing. read more

Was once the "Top" new theater in the area. And remained the Go-To theater for many years. The Cobb theater has taken most of their customers, as well as the general overall fact that people go to the movie theater less and less each year. As with almost all movies theaters, there's no more front office ticket clerks, and tickets are paid for at the concession stand. I Had some unwarranted resentment towards this place since it's what is "partly" the reason why the Port Orange theater went out of business. If you don't know about the Port Orange Theater it was a tiny theater which the building is now a gun store (go figure). It had cloth seats which apparently the concept on non reclineable seats at a movie theater is some foreign concept for some people, I assume under the age of 20. when recline seats first became available for certain rows it required paying extra. This is a very new basic commodity. and the PO theater had a very quaint untouched since the 90s feel to it. It remained open until the late 2000s, anyone living in the area who grew up during this time period surely has many memories of that place. It for a period of time started doing previously released 1$ movies and eventually shutting down by around 2010 I believe. Since Hollywood theaters took over. Which in turn now has Cobb taken over Hollywood. read more

I was hesitant to see a movie in this theatre since the seats don't recline. I'm glad I checked it out and was pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the rocking stadium seats. The sound quality in the standard theatre was excellent. Adam in concessions was very friendly and helpful. With lots of movie times, a convenient location and clean facilities- this is a great place to watch feature films. Side Note: This theatre serves Pepsi products. In the movie we watched there were a lot of chatty patrons; not sure if that is common since this isn't my usual theater but it was at a level that was annoying and distracting. read more

What can I say? This theater is conveniently located for me, but I rarely go there. The prices are very high - what you would expect to pay in a much larger city. I'm talking $15 for a single ticket! And the experience is mediocre at best. You can go to the theater in New Smyrna for about half the price - though that theater is even more spartan than this one. Still, given the prices and the explosion of at-home options it's tough for me to see how this place keeps the doors open. read more

My first visit to this theater. 1/15/23 Bought tasteless popcorn, which was a bag of mostly shards. Crumbs. $7.99 for the 'small.' We prepaid for the tickets, popcorn & drink. Soda machine not working ICEE machine not working Manager sez, you can have the lemonade or the fruit punch. Ok,,,lemonade. And he hands us a fruit punch. read more

Ok I went to go see a movie here this is my personal review. The positive: It's in a good location, with a lot of food around it so you could go to dinner and then watch a movie. The negative: You may puke that food up because the entire theater smells like pee. It's gross beyond gross. I had to have a mask on and cover my nose with my shirt to inhale my perfume just to get through a movie here. Other than that it's a standard movie theater. I read reviews previously before going and I thought what the heck can't be that bad. Boy was I wrong, it was even worse. If I wasn't with friends I would have asked for my money back, it's that bad. Do yourself a favor and save your money or go to another theater. I hope that they can fix this problem because other than that it's just a run of the mill theater, but the problem is so bad until it's fixed I will not be going back. read more

Staff was friendly however the theatre , where we watched West Side Story, had such an offensive mildew odor which remained on our clothes when we left! I tried my hardest to try to forget about the smell around me and get into the movie but wow, it was bad! Nice and clean theater! Glad that they had 3 do it yourself ticket kiosks since the afternoon we chose to attend the lines were crazy long. I was able to get out tickets from a kiosk and get inside before the regular ticket line had even moved. The chairs in the theater were very comfy, but about halfway through the movie I kept hearing this funny sound only to realize it was people moving around in there chairs. It seems they could all use a bit of WD-40. Not a bit deal, but it starts to get a bit distracting once you have an entire theater of people moving around in their chairs. read more

During this past week I have experienced a total blackout of telephone and/or internet service in the following businesses: Target in Port Orange and Hollywood Movies in Port Orange. I was unable to make or receive phone calls and text messages and unable to access email through my phone data plan. I strongly feel this is a violation of my rights. I will no longer do business in locations which use this blocking technology. My personal safety is compromised when I cannot send or receive a message from my husband while we are shopping. We couldn't even place a 911 call at Hollywood Movies if there was an active shooter situation or medical emergency. This is unacceptable. I pay for my phone plan and these businesses have no right to block my use of it. If I have to do all of my shopping and movie viewing on Amazon bring it on! read more

Tonight I went to a movie with my wife, we haven't been to a movie in a while and this place looked amazing. Checking in was easy, buying snacks was easy, and finding the right theater was easy. When it came time to sit in Theater 14 is when this night took a sharp turn, the smell in this theater was bad. When I say bad I mean like hot trash on a summer day outside, I have no idea why it smelled so intense and when we told the staff the only response we got was "Yeah it's been like that". There's no happy ending to this one, it wasn't the best experience and the response from the assistant manager who knew it smelt bad really killed it for me. Don't make the same mistakes I did and try to commit to a movie while having your nasal passage assaulted, just go get a refund. read more

My wife and I looked on the regal website for QUEEN & SLIM, and we decide to go see the 6:25pm show then we drive over here and don't see the movie on the outside Marquee.We walk in and the very eager security guard that quickly approached us was happy to explain why this movie with African American actor QUEEN & SLIM was not on the outside and we learned also not slated anywhere in side at all as well, was because they was having an issue with there Marquee system, so every other movie can be displayed but QUEEN & SLIM; What a coincidence. read more

Expensive and the staff considers themselves the morality police. In most theaters you can purchase a ticket for a teen under 17 to get into an R rated movie, and they can see it. Your in-person purchase is how you give them permission to see it (in this saw a scary movie at Halloween.) Here, you must buy your OWN ticket AND, they inform you, you must "sit through the entire movie with them." Yeah, teenagers want their parents to go to the movie with them. Effectively adds stress, inconvenience, embarrassment to the whole experience. I totally understand parent permission- totally. But this felt like punishment for everyone and totally intrusive. read more

Nice theater, very expensive concessions... Made my first trip to Port Orange to check out a movie. I had been told that this theater (formerly a Hollywood Theatre) was worth the slightly longer drive. Here are a few thoughts...Seating was far more comfortable than AMC and Epic. The cloth seats had plenty of padding, a bouncy recline and armrests that can be raised. Space side to side and front to back was less than other theaters, more like on an airplane than some of the more generous layouts. Concessions were very expensive, seemingly way more than other local theaters. Next time I'll hit one of the chain restaurants. For the same amount of cash I spent on popcorn and soda for 3 we could have had a proper meal. Display of the movie was fine. Sound was OK too, but AMC pseudo IMAX kills this presentation, and full sized IMAX is another story entirely. If you are local, this is a great theater but if you want state of the art presentation you might have to look towards Orlando and make a special outing of it. read more

The pavilion is a good mainstream theater. A ticket is usually around $10 except you are old (above 60), serving the United States with your life (knocks $1.5 off) or study (works only mo-thu). The sizes of each room are great, I would assume they each sit 350. The seats are recline able to some extend which is amazing! Also the armrest can be raised, making every seat a love-seat or fat-seat. Depending on your preference. Beware it gets really cold! So bring a sweater. Also they don't sell ice cream, which is ridicules for a movie experience ;) read more

On the first time we ever went here, the show we tried to make was full and the girl at the ticketing booth was very rude to my husband regarding the fact that he dropped the ticket off in her slot. At first she denied he returned the stub in front of the manager and then after she found it, she flung it on the customer service desk pissed off that she was wrong. Although we could have seen the show the following day, this employee's demeanor was so foul we instead opted to drive 80miles to orlando to see the same show. There's absolutely no motive for us to go to this theater again even though we live in town. Although the manager refunded our money, she did not give us any incentitve to come back nor did she reprimand the employee. Poorly handled. read more
