I was looking forward to delicious chicken and this place disappointed! Open for about 4 weeks now this location is across from CSUSM in the shopping center across the street. I called to place an order for pickup and was quoted 10 minutes. SWEET!! I got there at the quoted time, however nobody was at the front counter for a few minutes. Inside it looks very fresh and modern with 5 TV 's for those looking to catch some sports and ample seating area. The guy manager/worker watching the Padres vs Red Sox game at the bar counter saw how nobody was greeting or helping me out as I was waiting awhile so he called them in the kitchen to say one customer is waiting. They came out, I paid, and had to wait another 5 minutes.. not bad. Total cost is about 8 bucks for 4 tenderloin strips, 2 breadsticks, and carrots and celery. I came home ready to indulge on my customized: Lemon Pepper, Garlic, Mild tenderloin strips.. which didn't even have the mild sauce. My chicken was very dry and blah and mainly just the garlic and lemon pepper with a little spice flavor but barely! Major bummer it was missing the the Wings-N-Things mild sauce which is usually in excess with the strips and I usually look forward to drenching my bread-stick in. The breadstick also tasted basic?! Packed on a Sunday evening, and for good reason. You're basically coming to Wings-N-Things for Wings-N-Bread. The store was clean and food ( for what it is ) was spot on. Music was playing pretty loud but the kids actually liked it (Taylor swift etc etc). I live relatively close to the Escondido Wings-N-Things but that place is a dump. This location is worth the extra drive.. What a great addition to this shopping center, right across the street from the college! I've grown up on wings and things at the Carmel mountain location so when I heard they were opening up right by my house I was excited! I came on Sunday around noon and it was packed, but I was definitely expecting it to be. There isn't that much seating, and there's no outside seats. They had a nice bar, a few tvs and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They had a ton of fountain drinks even some I haven't even heard of, it was great. I ordered at the counter and luckily found a seat. I got the tenderloin single meal with multiple sauces on the side, which came out in about 5 minutes. The food was great! All of the sauces were excellent and had such a huge kick of flavor. I really enjoyed the hot buffalo sauce and the sweet chili. I would recommend to order the sauce on the side if you like your chicken to stay crunchy. The bread sticks were out of this world! Absolutely amazing, very soft and tons of garlic flavor. It's SO terrible now. There's new staff every time I've been there lately. Service is mediocre, and anything you ask for beyond what is *exactly* on the menu is ignored. If you ask for extra sauce (or anything) be sure to check before you leave. Tonight I had to go back because the veggies they gave me were soft and slimy. All they offered as an apology was a different bag of veggies and 2 extra breadsticks. The 2 that come with the meal is already 1 too many, I don't want 4! Still love going there but the place has gone downhill. Booths are old and always greasy. Floor around the soda fountain is always sticky. Portions are smaller and prices are up. So, I called my order in at 2:06, didn't leave until 2:35 after being told it will take 15 mins for my order to be made. So, as I'm rushing back to work wanting to eat on the way before my break is over I open my pizza bread box and it's BURNED all over and the chicken is hard and OVER-COOKED. I'm so confused with this location. It used to be an old Blockbuster but now it's a pho place and wings-n-things. Here's the catch- when it was being remodeled, the sign said 'Epic Wings'. I am very disappointed with how much the service has gone down. The food is always great, I'll give them that. The customer service however, Chad was who helped me and my partner tonight and the poor kid was slow, he seemed as if he wasn't fully there, he was very slow almost as if he was high. The attitude he had while taking my order was almost as if he wasn't getting paid to assist me. Chad walked away before I was done checking out I had to grab my own recipe. One of the better locations in terms of quality of food. However, what really sets this establishment miles above the rest is the customer service. Upon arriving, there was a line of about 6 people who all were attended very quickly by the employees behind the register. What definitely stood out was how inviting and helpful Julian was. I dined in and observed as Julian went around several times asking all patrons, myself included, if everything was to their satisfaction. He maintained his friendly disposition and contagious enthusiasm the entire time which made the visit that much more enjoyable. We had a brief conversation and I was on my way. Super Bowl Sunday 2021, I figured they were super busy, so I called a half hour early to order ahead. The guy who answered was super friendly, and efficient, but the phone was full of static, and got cut off so I called back. When I got there a line was out the door, and I saw at least a dozen Door Dash orders on a counter. But my food was ready, and I made sure when I opened the bag that the order was complete. A couple times before things like carrots or breadsticks were missing. Kudos for Covid precautions, 6 feet stickers on the floor, staff wearing gloves, and masks, and no one had to linger inside.
