If you care about which skis you are renting, save your money and go elsewhere. Terrible selection even when you reserve ahead, and only have options for ice. God forbid Stratton has a powder day! Demo to ski option the require you to come back to change out your skis 3-4 times. Too bad because I would have actually considered buying skis from them if they weren't so stingy! I rent skis because I like to try out different models and get different skis based on conditions. Have been doing this for 10+ years. This was the worst rental experience that I have had. read more

matt was great at helping me select and demo some skiis and boots. wow what a difference. great customer care. i could not have asked for better. make sure to leave the proper time to get the best care. they open at 8am for that purpose. i was able to try 3 different skiis and they provided boots as well. everyone at the shop was personable. read more

I'm not sure where all the less than 5-Star reviews came from, because this place was amazing! I haven't skied since I was a kid, so I was more than a bit intimidated to get back on the mountain. The team at Equipe couldn't have been more understanding or helpful in getting me ready for my big day. All of my questions were answered, and they actually encouraged me to feel more confident before getting back on the slopes. They helped find the right boot and ski for my ability (or lack thereof), and did the same for my husband who has far more experience than I do. They gave us tips for finding trails that would work for both of us, and made the entire start of the day easy and enjoyable! Returning everything was a breeze too. I recommend them to anyone heading to Stratton Village this Winter! read more

I rarely write reviews, but am so happy with Equipe Sport that I wanted to share my positive experience. My skis had been horribly mistuned at a local ski shop in NY. Couldn't ski on them after that tune -- the skis were fighting me all the way and were not tracking properly on edge. Who knows what wax they used, if any. Really a misery, and caused me to waste a valuable ski day. I visited Equipe Sport in Stratton Village adjacent to the base lodge this past weekend for a full tune, and the difference was amazing; truly better than when they were new (and clearly the proper wax for the prevailing conditions this weekend). My wife and I are intermediate skiers and haven't skied in 10 years and not sure we wanted to ski again. Went to Equipe off mountain on route 30. Gear was very good, sharp edges and waxed and very comfortable boots. The service from Peter, Brenda, and Bob were the friendliest as could be and very personal and exceeded expectations. Reasonable price, great service, and gear that made us want to ski again. Highly recommend and will be back there again. This review is about my rental experience. What I like about the place is the location. It's right next to the base of the mountain, so renting skis and getting to the ski lifts is pretty easy. However, that's where the positive experience ends. I had come on President's Day weekend, so it was pretty busy. I had rented skis online since they told me over the phone that they have run out of rentals in the past. I got to the rentals and there are several people waiting already. There is no organization on who goes next. If you can slip in and make eye contact with one of the salesman, then they will help you first. So, even though so one got there after me, he was helped first. Once I was being helped, they said that they couldn't find my reservation, even though I booked it online. I had to show them the confirmation email before they would offer me the rental. The boots and skis were fine, but then they told me that they didn't any same size poles left. They gave me one which was considerably shorter than the other and told me to ski with those. I had to find another salesman who then gave me the same size poles. So overall, customer service was not that great and left much to be desired. After this experience, I won't be going back again. read more

The gear was good and the people were friendly and helpful. Right on the mountain and 20 steps away from the ticket booth so you do not have to trek far to get rentals. Just make sure you get a sticker on your skis with your name. There are a lot of rentals out there and they look the same so someone can swipe them up not knowing. read more

Located in the Stratton Mountain Village the carry a good line on Ski equipment and clothing. All high-end stuff. The ski shop does tuning and repairs in addition to rentals. For a higher price you can also rent demo skis. In years past I have been able to pick up some nice buys on good clothing on sale. So when spring ski season is kicking into gear this is a good place to shop. read more

They had a great selection and were always ready with a new set for me when I returned from the slopes. Awesome customer service from the service department! I was in the store twice on a recent Sunday, once to get my daughter's bindings adjusted and once to fix what turned out to be a horrible tune-up from the ski shop in my home town (after one run on skis that would not turn, I was ready to give up the sport!). They were extremely pleasant, quick (had me back on the mountain in 15 minutes), AND despite prime resort location, cheaper than home! If they weren't a 7 hour drive away from me, I'd never go anywhere else! read more
