Why?…read moreBecause at every curve ball thrown at them, Alltech Painting showed courtesy, grace, professionalism and most importantly, a desire to do right by the customer and the job. First things first - we bought a house recently. I am a girl who likes things done to suit my aesthetic. And I don't like to wait. So you can bet your bottom dollar that as soon as the house was in our name, I went straight to work. While some things worked for us, many things didn't - including the paint. I initially choose Alltech Painting out of five other bids. My aim was quality with an eye on budget. I had some very set ideas going in - paint type, brand and colors. Honestly, a few other bids were quite good. What really impressed me about Alltech was how open and prepared they were. They came armed with brochures showing their work, references (including Boeing!) and knowledge. They told me what the entire process - from stripping to patching to priming to painting - looked like and what it would look like specifically for my house. Unlike some other bids, they said firmly that for the best outcome, we would have to wait until it was dry and hot - so summer. They knew they weren't the cheapest bid - so they told me why. And if I was concerned about price, they suggested ways to bring it down, while still maintaining the quality I wanted. Their Tesla X work vehicle didn't hurt either ;) I kid, I kid. After they brought down the price to a very reasonable number with their suggestions, they mentioned that they could do my fence as well for my initial budget. My fence has seen better days and I'd already made repairs, but it resulted in a two tone fence since the old fence was painted while the new parts were natural wood. I would need to do it anyway so having it all done at the same time? Score! What actually happened: The week they had scheduled me came. So did rain and fog and mist and more rain. They did come out to pressure wash, but nothing else could be done outside. Sigh. Meanwhile, I'd been tearing up the interior putting in my own touches and some of the painted surfaces were collateral damage. Luckily, I had found wall paint from just a few months ago in the garage and Alltech agreed to do the extra touch ups for a small fee. When the rain finally stopped, they got to work right away. They also found a problem right away. The previous owners had repainted the house just before putting it on the market. Only they had forgotten primer. They'd also used the wrong paint for wood siding. When I'd first gotten the bid, it was freshly done and didn't look too bad. But now - after the pressure washing, rain, mist and fog - how bad it really was became apparent. Paint over a peeling layer and your new layer is only going to perform as well as that layer beneath. For Alltech, this meant more stripping and patching to do it right. Sigh. Nothing ever goes exactly to plan, right? Well, a couple of days later, the other shoe dropped. You remember that paint in the garage that I was so sure was the wall paint? Yea, nope. And we had some mismatched touch-ups to prove it before the foreman halted work because it was obviously not the right color. They ended up taking a swatch directly from the wall and color matched it. All this is extra labor and time and that all costs money. Alltech worked with me and my husband to keep cost down after all these extra issues. That's gotta be it, right? Not a chance. The icing on the cake: we got robbed. Alltech got robbed right along with us. You see, Alltech had been leaving their equipment chained up in my fenced backyard when the work day was done. Someone went into the backyard and stole their equipment. This wasn't exactly peanuts. To their credit, they let me know that while this was a set back for them, I wasn't to worry. Ending/TLDR; Well I got my happy ending. The paint job looks phenomenal. I've even gotten compliments on it from the neighbors. Throughout Alltech was wonderful, even with all the setbacks. Justin, one of the partners, I got to know as a friend. He came out everyday to check on the work the team was doing and make sure everything was up to the standard I wanted. I really appreciated that. The team was great, very respectful and friendly, and the foreman, Juan, who Alltech had lead my project, was a perfectionist. I also really appreciated that! At some point during the job I mentioned that I loved fresh mint tea. At the end of the job, they gave me the a beautiful set of three mint plants. How's that for personalized? I can't say I loved all the delays, but I loved working with Alltech. If you appreciate friendly service, expertise, honesty and a plain old quality paint job, my hunch says you will too.

They came out and did my chimney box and touched up one other place but did not paint the area. I initially called them out for. When I asked when they were coming out, they said that they were done. I had to send them pictures and argue with them that it was not done. They also did not use a gutter protector when they put the ladder against my gutter. They had to come out twice to fix that. I think they have gotten too big. I should not have to waste my time to follow up.

This job was nearly the entire interior of a 3000sq/ft home which included some very high ceilings and some other challenging areas. In addition, they had to work around our dogs, two kids who are home and our desire to have them work a full day, but still have our time to ourselves. We are not the easiest to work with but Atilio did a great job communicating with my wife and keeping the job moving, despite us adding some elements in the middle of the job. His crew are very friendly and do whatever they can to make you happy, AND were on time or early EVERY DAY for three weeks. That's a big deal to us and a rarity in the contracting world! The paint quality was great, they cleaned up nightly and were very insistent that we were happy with the job and reiterated they'd come back if we find any issues.
