Super cute salon. A bit dis organized. Almost impossible to reach anyone on the phone. Owner-would suggest reviewing and updating the prices of your providers and their services. Some are evidently $5-45 or more off? The stylist should be paid the correct amount, and the customer be prepared for the price. When the customer books, they receive a receipt with total and deposit. If it is variable, please note on the receipt. If you book an appointment online make sure that the stylist 1) confirms the price when you sit down. 2) Has received the deposit you pre paid online. I had to ask about my deposit as my total requested did not reflect it? Era Salon a bit awkward?????? 3) Stylists- many times clients may be in from out of town, or a first client so stylists- review any changes up front or concerns . Salon: Would invest also in some bottles of water, and coffee cups. Just a little something? I found this salon 2 weeks ago despr in need of a haircut. I met my stylist Tatum and she did such a good job on my cut I made an appointment for a color. I told her what I was looking for, something bright and bold and boy did she deliver as you can clearly tell from the before and after pics. She was also super excited about it and you can tell she truly enjoys what she does. It was a great experience. I booked two haircuts with Jordan two weeks ago. One was for myself and one for my daughters first haircut. We were really looking forward to this appointment and the special memory that would be made. Less then two hours before the appointment time, Jordan cancelled because "she only had one person on her books". She had three but apparently she wasnt counting my daughter and I. As a previous salon coordinator I cannot believe a stylist would cancel the day of without an emergency. We needed these haircuts for tomorrow and now every other salon is closed already or booked. I only gave two stars because I assume the stylists rent their chairs here (otherwise they wouldnt be allowed to cancel so unprofessionally) so maybe the salon itself isnt bad. I scheduled to get my wedding hair and makeup done for myself and two of my bridesmaids. The night before my wedding, the stylist texted me and said she had a family emergency and couldn't be there but other stylist will be able to do our makeup. In the morning we got there at 9:00am and the people had no idea about our appointments. There was one appointment for 1:00pm and my wedding started at 3:00pm. I made an appointment to get my hair cut and colored for the day before Valentine's Day. I scheduled the appointment days enough in advance, it wasn't a last minute thing. Then my stylist Heather texts me Friday night, after 6, when the salon is already closed, and all other salons are already closed, that her hubby has planned a valentines weekend away for them and she's cancelling my appointment and wants me to reschedule for another day!!! So it's okay for her to make super fun Vday plans, but mine get to be ruined because now I can't get my hair done anywhere last minute, the day before Valentine's Day of course everyone is already booked!!! Super disappointed in the lack of customer service or concern for my plans and my schedule. Called the salon and specifically asked for a color specialist. Showed for my appointment and although the girl was very nice, she was not a color specialist, she messed up my blonde hair so bad. I was there a total of 4 hours, had green, Grey, brown and an blonde in my hair. She got some of it out but I was forced to cut over 3" of hair off and have the owner some what fix it a 4 days later for another 2 hours at the salon in one week. Made my following appointments, reminders would come in 2 days before and yet they never matched the time we made when I was standing there putting it in my phone. When I asked her about this for my upcoming appointment in 2 days on 5/14 which I had waited for 6 weeks for, she told me it wasn't a good fit and canceled my appointment. This is the OWNER, 2 days before an appointment that I waited for 6 weeks canceledme. Not good practice and very unprofessional, especially for an OWNER. read more

I visited Era Salon and Spa on Saturday May 15th. When I called to make an appointment, I was given the next available stylist, Tatum. Whoever answered the phone did not correctly inform Tatum that I wanted partial highlights, a Brazilian Blowout and a cut. When I arrived, Tatum was equal parts unconcerned about what I wanted and unprofessional--she was adamant about NOT doing the blowout but instead insisted on a "Keratin Treatment," claiming it was basically "the same thing." It was not until after that Tatum informed me that I could not wash my hair or use any hair accessories for 48 hours. Had I known this, I would not have allowed her to do the treatment because I'm very athletic and I use hair products daily to remove the sweat and "workout mess" and now, not only did she not follow through with the process I wanted-- my hair looks terrible AND I had to take two days off from working out. She also neglected to discuss what color highlights I wanted, and she proceeded to color my hair on her own using the color she felt like using. Now I'm stuck with a color I hate as well as a treatment that won't keep my hair as straight as a Brazilian Blowout. She was cordial but inattentive to what I really wanted. I texted her later and asked for a redo on the color and she refused. I also didn't get the cut I wanted, she just trimmed it. This whole appointment was 3 hours and I tipped 20% which brought the total to $360. An incredible price to spend and not be happy or even just satisfied with the results. I do not recommend Tatum Yannizzi as a hair stylist. I am extremely disappointed. She could have at least re-done the color. read more

Warning to curly-haired ladies; Robert does not know how our hair works. He decided to thin my hair out to create more volume ( I LOVED my thick curly hair.) By doing this he cut about half my hair an inch to three inches long all over my head. When I questioned if this was a good idea he got offended and snapped back with, "I've been cutting hair for 25 years, I know what I'm doing." As it dried a halo of short kinky hairs frizzed up all around my head. He was still cutting the ends and I said very sadly, " Robert there is frizz all over my head now." He responded, "Your hair was frizzy when you walked in here." I said, "not like this" and he said "it must have been from your previous hairstylist." (Are you kidding me?? I have never had anyone cut my hair like this. ) I said "no it was not" he said very harshly, "Fine, it's free, your done, LEAVE." What? I was so confused that he would suddenly snap. He repeated himself, "You're done, LEAVE." I left shaking. He seriously scared me. I've never known someone to snap like that in a professional setting. I didn't want a free haircut, I wanted a good one. This is going to take years to grow back out. I would pay anything to go back in time and not go to him. I am dreading monsoon season here now. I'm going to have long hair with short frizzy hair all over my head. If you have straight hair then I'm sure he would do a great job cutting it. I went to him because he cut my friends long straight hair well. But curly haired girls, please do yourself a favor and don't go to him. And you obviously need thick skin to deal with this wanna-be-rockstar, narcissistic, asshole. read more

Robert Raymond is a hair cutting god!! As a women, it is hard to find someone capable of cutting hair short and making it look sexy. I have had many bad hair cuts. Went in for an updo. She used men's hair gel on me so I smelled like a 14 year old boy doused in Axe body spray. I literally looked nothing like the picture I showed her. Nothing. A UPDATE: The owner had me come back and blended out some of the layers as well as took some of the thickness out. I like my hair so much better now. I was also refunded for the haircut. They really want to make sure that you are happy. After searching through the salons in this small town I stumbled upon this one. Since I was on a time constraint the only open appointment was with Robert. Overall he was very professional, but I have some complaints. The color in my hair was close to what I wanted although it was not exactly what I was looking for. The haircut ended up being way too short for my liking despite me telling him I was trying to grow it out. I showed him a picture that was actually longer than my hair so how it became this short has me confused. I also ended up with two layers even though the photo I had shown him did not have layers. We agreed on a length that sat at my collar bone, but it was way shorter than that. Being younger I have a hard time discussing issues with older people, so I went home upset with how my hair turned out. Overall, it was okay, just be sure to express EXACTLY what you want done. I felt like he was doing more so what he wanted my hair to look like than what I was looking for. read more
