After getting bounced from Snooze down the street by the 45 min wait, we sauntered down to this locale for lunch (sister lives within 3 blocks). It was as the other reviews note- stellar, bit slow, super fresh, fried a bit heavy, delicious. The proprieter runs a tight ship but I can't imagine how he keeps up with a lunch rush. I am shocked this place is still in business. Saturday night, 1 person in the restaurant. I put in a pick up order over the phone. He tells me 30 minutes. I can't imagine how with 1 customer it would take 30 minutes to make my food but whatever. I go in 15 minutes later and no one even comes out of the back for 10 minutes. They don't don't know I have a pick up order but I seat myself and wait for 10 minutes till the guy comes out of the back. Still nobody in the restaurant. Finally the food comes 40 minutes after I ordered. God forbid they ever actually get busy. Oh and the food was very average. I will not be back. read more

Without a doubt, this is the best Thai food in Denver. The only places that I've been to, in the US of course, that are as good as Erawan Cafe are in LA and New York. This small unassuming restaurant is ornate and well decorated inside. Of course Erawan Cafe stocks authentic Thai beer (Beer Chang if I remember right) to complement the powerful but tasty spices. This along with the fact that Art, the best "one man show" in the 303, always makes time to chat with you provides a great dining experience in addition to the great food. The two stars are only because the business owner was very nice. Pad Thai - worst I've ever had. It's spaghetti noodles with barely any peanut flavor and chicken skin tossed in. Very confusing. I stopped eating after four bites, which has never happened in my long career of consuming Thai food. Green Curry - mostly rice, barely any curry sauce. Again, the chicken seemed way below par. Tom Kha Gai - this was the best part of the meal, but still far below my expectations. From now I will stick to Thai Pot, my original choice (but the line was busy). I'm not sure why I just paid for that meal. I could have had better food out of a box. I rarely post reviews unless truly motivated by greatness, but this was worth commenting on. This is a charming place and it seems like a well-kept secret. The food is really excellent and the one-man band (waiter, cook, greeter) reminds me of the kindness and hospitality I experienced in Thailand. Love this place. Super quaint, EXCELLENT Thai. It's very low key, when we were in there we were lucky enough to get to chat with the owner/chef, (I assume he was also the owner) and he was very hospitable. This little place is quite a find! Great for a late-night bite to eat (especially since most other places close at 9 PM on a weeknight and they are open until 10). The food was very good and the decor was cute. We were the only people there on a Tuesday night at 9 so the owner and chef were very attentive. The crab ragoons were tasty and light and fluffy but you couldn't really taste a lot of crab. Overall very nice place and fair prices. read more

Erawan is hands down my favorite Thai food in Denver. The fried dumplings are some of the best I've had and are perfectly crispy and not overly oily. I hate to admit it, but I always order the phud se iew. There's something about the wide noodles and the slightly sweet sauce... Erawan serves their version with a tangy, mildly spicy sauce on the side - it adds an extra "something" to the dish that I just can't get enough of! The service is a little slow, but as other reviewers have mentioned, this is a one man show. We received noodles that were angle hair pasta in our phud thai, and it tasted as though pepper had just been sprinkled across them. My husband and I were disappointed with the flavor of our dishes and the presentation. Both of our dishes had very little meat in them as well. I've been coming here for over 10 years. I initially found out about Erewan from a friend that had been to Thailand multiple times. Since the style of food here is homestyle Thai it is incomparable to any other Thai restaurant in Denver. Eating here does require patience since the owner, Art, is the server, cook, and buser, but the food is well worth the wait. The Tom kha gai is the best I've ever had and tod-mom and curries are to die for. Art will also make vegan versions of his curry if requested :) read more

Arthur has been serving authentic Thai food at this location for 31 years, amazing. Living in the area we eat here regularly and the food is great. I would highly recommend the Green Curry, Panang, or the Pad Thai. Arthur is a very charming and gracious host. He gets a little backed up at times as he is the host, waiter, and cook all rolled up into one. Highly recommend, you get waaaaaaay better food than the Swing Thai around the corner for the same price. Try this place. read more

FOOD POISIONING!!!!! My husband and I ordered Egg Rolls and Phud Thai (original)(it comes with chicken) on Thursday, November 29 2012. We both had severe food poisioning by Friday night!! We have eaten at this restaurant before with no problems until now. I called the owner and he did not seem to care. Therefore, I called the city and requested that a health inspector visit the restaurant to look the kitchen over. I would hate for this happen to anyone else, it was horrible! read more

Let me tell you 10 things about my experience with this restaurant that should persuade you to spend your hard earned money elsewhere. 1. I ordered Lamb Panang. He confirmed my order as lamb... it was definitely beef. 2. The beef was overcooked and had no flavor. 3. The sauce was extraordinarily bland - spicy, but that's about all it had going for it. 4. The rice appeared to be made from "Uncle Ben's" minute rice. 5. The crab cheese wontons were approximately 99% wonton wrapper, 1% cream cheese filling. 6. Price was okay, but not for the quality. I might have been happier eating McDonald's chicken nuggets, 3 hours old. From a dumpster. 7. You can buy microwavable entrees from your grocer's freezer that would taste better than this food. 8. My girlfriend got the phud thai. Worst I've ever had. Made me want to gag. 9. Food was pretty cold for picking it up on time. 10. My carrots were canned. Bleh. The owner was nice. If you want to come here, peek your head in and say hello to the man, and then leave. That's the best you'll get out of this place. read more

Despite the menu listing what is in each dish, it isn't accurate. The chicken must have been days old. It was chewy. And the hours listed here and on the door are incorrect. Thinking of ordering from Erawan? Save your money. DON'T DO IT. You can thank me later. This was hands down the worst Thai food I've ever had, and it ranks as a strong contender for the worst meal I've ever had (I'm 59). I wasted approx $80 on seven dishes, and can't come up with one positive thing to say about any of them. The fried rice tasted as if it has been dredged through maple syrup, topped with a gray, dry, tasteless meat that was purportedly pork. Pad Thai made with spaghetti (literally). Pad See Ew that was a brown dried heap. The Hot and Sour soup (there are some Chinese items on the menu) was inedible, and the egg rolls looked like they were acquired from Trader Joes across the street and heated up. None of us got through more than three bites of our food before throwing it out. Additionally, given COVID, I was informed later (I didn't pick up the order, or I would have walked out without paying for it) that the owner (apparently the only person working) was not wearing a mask or gloves until coming to the front counter to close out the order. I would rate this restaurant a 0 if it were an option on the website. read more
