I realize that we were there off-season but I want to start my review out by saying it was just okay. It was pizza. It's pretty hard to screw a pizza oh, and this was okay. We are at the tail end of skiing season but not quite Lake season therefore the time those kind of empty therefore so was the restaurant. However I could see that in the summer this place has a great view of the lake it's on the bottom floor of a building on Main Street and it did seem kind of neat. Well I'm always a fan of getting more than I asked for, we ordered two pizzas that were about a third of the size larger than what he explained them to be which just made up with a lot of pizza we could not take home as that we were there visiting. The crossed seem like it was over proof and could have benefited from maybe a little olive oil or even a bit of salt. I'm also a fan of cornmeal but it didn't seem like there was much attention paid to the dough. The sauce was okay I could have used a little bit more not that I like my pizza dripping with sauce but it did seem dry in some places might have been an oversight. She's on the other hand was plentiful and seem to be a high moisture mozzarella which led to even melting. The pepperoni and sausage we're up good portions but I did not care for the sausage. It seemed like there was only one person working at the time and I think you may have been the owner. But this would make sense given the number of people in the town at that time of year. Pizza was really good. I don't normally like thin pizza, but the crust was crispy on bottom and a little chewy in middle. The crust matters. The toppings were fresh and plentiful and a sufficient amount of cheese to balance the toppings. I would definitely go back! read more

Really good pizza, not the best ever but worth going back again. We got mushroom, tasted good, could use more shrooms. Also got the linguine with broccoli and garlic. It was a solid 4 out of 5...I added grated cheese and it was just right. Our first getaway since the pandemic started. On our first night we stopped here for dinner. Being the pizza snob I am, I didn't expect much. I was pleasantly surprised. We tried three items. A pepperoni pizza, a margherita pizza and a spinach salad. The pizzas were personal size and are about 10". They are delicious. They were thin and perfectly cooked. Sauce and cheese were excellent. The spinach salad was a large portion that was shared with 3 people. All the veggies on it were fresh and tasty. Good food, if you're not from the area be aware, lake placid's tap water has a lot of fluoride in it. Enough to taste. It flavors the food and all things cooked in water. I'm not used to it, because I'm not from here, but a good restaurant all I could complain about is the water here. read more

The Mediterranean salad had a generous portion of feta cheese and olives, but it didn't make it worth the price; there was also a bit too much dressing which made the whole salad a bit sour. This place is ANYTHING but amazing. I've gotten pizza AND baked ziti here and I am 100% disappointed. It is located overlooking the lake, and even though it is hard to tell if it is run by the Italian mafia, the staff is friendly and *nothing but* quick. The house music is no where to be found which is not appropriate to the Italian mafia-atmosphere so claimed by Caroline I. Even if it is owned and run by actual, real live Italians, you really should know it's not good. Ok, as of 6/2010, there are now two reviews on Yelp for Eres Pizza, and it's up to YOU to decide which one to believe. Here's my case: 1) We ordered Baked Ziti. It was $16 for LUNCH! The sauce was bland. My own Ricotta + Canned Paul Newman's Sauce combo + pasta then cover with shredded mozzarella recipe is tastier than this. And guess what? I'm too scared to see what they would charge for dinner pricing on this. The portion was so shockingly small that my 5 year old didn't have enough to eat. 2) Salad -- pure lettuce, white onion and 1 (one, uno, single) slice of tomato drenched in honey mustard dressing. Drenched in this context means they poured out literally 1/3-1/2 of a salad dressing bottle that you'd buy in the grocery store onto the salad. It would be nice to have something else other than white onions to eat with your lettuce. How about two tomato wedges? Or croutons? Throw in an olive? Or cucumber? I'm not a rabbit that looks at a pile of lettuce and onions and just goes at it, but that's me. Perhaps you're the lettuce and onion in honey mustard *soup* type of guy or gal. 2) Menu said bread comes with it. NO BREAD SERVED. When I asked for bread, the waiter went off to the back with a grunt, beeped up the microwave and came back with over-microwaved bread. Have you microwaved bread or a bagel for long? It becomes tough and chewy enough that it would make a good chew-toy for a dog. If that's "real live Italian cooking", I don't want any of it. And we were there at 12:30p, not at some odd, off-busy-hour time slot. 12:30p is LUNCH time. Why are you not ready for a lunch crowd (4 tables were seated in the entire place with us) and sticking me with microwave bread? 3) The other table next to us was being re-seated by us after complaining about the heat in the room. I know rent might be high in Lake Placid for retail space, but c'mon! Turn on the A/C! 4) The pizza had a lot of potential for thin-crust pizza. It was served hot, cut into 16 half-slices. But the cheese was THICK. Chewy. This point is hard to describe. It *was* good pizza. The crust was good. But everyone at the table commented how THICK and CHEWY the cheese was on the pizza. You know how Starburst is kind of chewy so you have to work at it? Not that extreme, but similar in chewy-properties. This is not a complete slam, but just stating an observation for you to decide -- My wife's jaws were borderline hurt / tired after 2 slices. 5) My Amex was rejected since they only take MC/Visa. Another sign they are too cheap here. C'mon, if you're charging $16 for $0.16 worth of pasta and pre-made frozen microwave bread, you can afford the extra 2% ($0.32 in the case of the Ziti dish!) Amex charges over MC/Visa for credit card transactions! 6) Regarding the lake view. It's partial, not full view. And only 4 tables in a separate garden extension which is separated from the main room by a wall -- so the main room is actually pretty dark, and has NO view at all of anything aquatic. Bonus point 7) They have a big sign that says they don't sell pizza by the slice for take-out, only full expensive pies. C'mon! Last summer in 2017, on a very very hot day, my 10 year old son was a guest of someone buying pizza for a small group of kids. He was extremely thristy & asked the people working there for a glass of water. The people working there refused & told him he had to buy a bottle of water. He had no money & did not want to ask the host to buy it for him. It took a while until he found us to get money for the water. He was very upset and so were we. Ordered some cheese for take out and sat in front of Mirror Lake. The taste of Ere's cheese and sauce is good, but the flavor isn't really that prominent or strong. It's boring pizza. On top of that, the bread is too thin and chewy. The crust is lacking in size, and crunchy instead of a crispy soft bite. Appearance wise, the pizza looks like it wasn't too fresh, and although it appeared greasy it wasn't really at all, which I found strange. It's not pizza I would buy more than once unless I had nowhere else to go. For the price of $3 per slice, there's no way Ere's pizza is worth it. Stopped here on a rainy night in Lake Placid. We had nice patio seating, overlooking Mirror Lake. Friendly, quick service on the night we were there. I had a calzone that was very good. Delicious red sauce on the side for dipping. My kids ordered buffalo chicken sandwiches, which when they came were more like chicken strips on nice Italian-type sandwich rolls, but with no sauce. But when we asked, they brought some sauce right out. Also had garlic bread with cheese to start, which we gobbled right up. Verdict? I'd go again and recommend to others. read more

The service here is what gives it 5 stars in our book. We have visited for a pizza lunch a few times and enjoyed the prompt and friendly service (as well as the fantastic lake views from the balcony or indoor window dining) each time. Prices are great ($15 for a large cheese pizza with 8 huge slices). They also have a personal sized pizza (which is probably a good size for two to share with no leftovers and small to medium appetites). We haven't tried the specialty pizzas or sandwiches yet, but maybe will some day. Having just moved from NYC, I'll admit that the pizza isn't the best I've had before, but it seems to be consistent and well done. We will be back for sure! read more
