I finally got to try it and here's my thoughts : - soft serve watered down rlly quick & the coconut flavor was too much, too sweet. - strawberry glaze was also a too sweet , combined w/ the soft serve it j tasted like a concoction of sugar. - keto choc chips didn't taste good, understand the healthy concept but it didn't go well with this dessert. Erewhon is truly amazing. A masterclass in marketing. It's a grocery story that has managed to convince and entire generation of naive, insecure people that grossly overpaying for groceries is somehow a status symbol. It's a retailer. That's it. You can buy most everything here at other retailers or DTC from the manufacturer, for less. I stopped here on a Friday morning to grab a smoothie. Having never been to LA before, I was dying to see what Erewhon was all about. Lots of expensive products in glass jars, but not that different from Whole Foods. I had the peanut butter blast smoothie, which was on the cheaper end of the smoothie options ($12, as of March 2024). It had simpler and fewer ingredients than many of the other options. I've always been a big Erewhon person. I love their smoothies, fresh groceries, hot bar, and especially the vegan options they provide for people like me who have severe dairy allergies. So when I saw they added a vegan margarita pizza, I was really excited and bought it right away. But after taking a bite, I had a severe allergic reaction. When I told the staff I wasn't feeling well, they admitted they had accidentally put real cheese on the vegan pizza. This should never happen. For someone with a serious allergy, this kind of mistake isn't just disappointing--it's dangerous. I ended up sick and throwing up for the entire day. I've heard the negative reviews about the price but wanted to check it out for myself. I ordered the famous Hailey Beiber Smoothie and cashier informed me it would be a 20 min wait which was fine. I waited 30 minutes for my drink, before checking in. They couldn't find my ticket. There was a Hailey Bieber Smoothie on the dock for 20 min, but it wasn't my name so we suspected someone else likely took my drink. For serving $17-$21 smoothies, they really should have an expeditor. The worker said just take the drink at the dock and waved me off.. and I said "uhh.. I just said it's been there for 20 minutes". Normally I wouldn't mind taking the smoothie but it was $18! They finally said they can remake it without an apology, and I thanked them. All the workers looked like they did not want to be there. Let's start w the fact that I've worked in food service for 12 years. I've only been out for a year now. It's hard work. It deserves tremendous respect. Now I work doing customer service calls making more money and the ppl I deal w can often be angry. What do I do? I empathize, address, and solve. Why? I'm efficient and that's the job. Let's get to the story. Andy C., their manager, just told me to shut up 5 times in a row under his breath at checkout when I asked to swap a cold water for a room temp water. I ordered pickup on the app and asked my shopper who I tip to do so. The shopper didn't respond. My order for a hot chocolate, water and soda took over 30 minutes at pick-up. I asked Andy if my water was cold and he said, a little, yeah. So I started explaining to him that I ordered online and waited a surprisingly long time (more than 30 minutes) for a to-go hot chocolate, water, and soda. Andy seemed immediately agitated so I grabbed a room temp water immediately behind me (which took 2 seconds) and asked if he would just check me out to buy it right then and there. I said I was late for work and the bigger one was what I wanted anyway. I said this issue w the shopper not responding has happened before and that's when he interrupted me and said "shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up..." I was obviously silenced and listened intently to really hear it. I looked up at him and asked if he just told me to shut up five times in a row. He looked at me and said to have a nice day, ma'am. He didn't deny it, because he said it. He didn't apologize because that would mean fully acknowledging it. Cut to a week ago when I mentioned to another male manager that it was remotely inconvenient to have the to go area such a far walk from the parking lot. Instead of leading w leadership or curiosity or even lying to me (which would've been a responsible cs decision) and telling me he'd think about that, he said something to the effect of, No, it's easier to get everything at once at pick up. And I responded with that I had experienced it often takes longer when I do that and he simply didn't respond, and, like Andy, seemed agitated, so I smiled and left. He nor Andy care about this store or solving problems. Can we just please only promote WOMEN TO MANAGERS? PLEASE. Their woman manager at the Weho location helped me get my simple mocha to-go 20 min after ordering it online so I could be on time to work and offered to escalate my note about confusion about not being able to place to-go online barista orders until 8am when they open at 7am. She saw a problem and solved it intentionally and with leadership. This is the second Erewhon where a male manager has egregiously disrespected me when asking them to help address and solve a simple problem. The other one in Silverlake was similarly wild. You can read that review on that page. That story is even more interesting but at least slightly less disrespectful than this with Andy C. Let's get to review of the store. It's nice, small. At peak hours the hot bar is understaffed. Even when parking is hectic, it will always be faster and more efficient to pop in than ordering online. 30-40 min for a hot chocolate, a water, a soda and a shopper you tip who doesn't ever respond to your request for the room temp water instead of the cold one. Apparently they don't allow notes on online orders bc the shopper will text you and take care of asks, but they don't respond, and I think that creates more work for them, so.... Anyway I also fear their barista area is understaffed. They are all pretty nice aside from the male managers. My nervous system is now extremely activated at work unnecessarily. PSA: Expired Face Skin Care Purchased a very expensive Osea Hyaluronic Acid ($88) from this location. Opened it 2 weeks later when my supply ran out completely and was shocked to discover a terrible mildew smell. I am a religious Ósea customer and have used this product every day for well over a year. It typically DOES NOT smell like mildew. Upon researching this smell on Osea's site, it appears the product goes bad after 12 months or if improperly stored. I don't have the receipt anymore and there's no contact info on Erewhon's site so will literally have to throw away the bottle and buy a new one. I was hopeful I could use Erewhon as a place to buy these products since the SM location is 5 mins from my work but now learning my lesson to just continuing purchasing from Osea directly. I've been dying to try Erewhon - living on the east coast, I had to stop in during my trip to LA. The store itself is beautiful - fresh produce, organized displays, a cafe hot bar and a smoothie bar. Coming from DC, I'm used to wholefoods expensive prices, but erewhon is definitely pricy! I spent $18 on the strawberry glow smoothie (not worth all of the hype), $24 on Buffalo cauliflower and Brussel sprouts, and $18 on 2 poppi drinks and a slice of cheesecake. Everything I got was delicious - I loved the Buffalo cauliflower but was surprised that they don't have any dipping sauces available for purchase. All of the employees were really friendly and it was a fun experience, but definitely wouldn't be a regular shopping trip if I lived in LA! read more

Their flower arrangements are beautiful and I picked up a bundle, not realizing the price until I got to the cash register. $60 later (smoothie, scone and flowers), I can say I enjoyed my experience. I am very sad to be writing this. This is my local Erewhon and I have been coming here for many years. My husband and I shop here when we want a specialty soup, or something made from their kitchen. As I love some of their vegetarian and vegan options. I went in today to pick up a few items and drop off some of my soup and drink jars to recycle and get credit for them. After I checked out and paid I left the store. But to my surprise I got accused of shop lifting!! The man who confronted me was very rude, aggressive and the best part about it was when I told him let's go to the counter and I can prove I paid for it. Which of course I did! He then didn't apologize and acted like everything was fine. I was totally an utterly humiliated and beyond pissed to not even receive an apology. Is this what you get for shopping at an over priced supermarket!?! Public Shame and no apology!?! Erewhon needs to look at how they handle these kinds of incidences. It's a grocery store and they have a cafe with visually appealing outdoor seating, little nook areas that it looks like people in this office district use for business meetings. Feels like super important people come here, of the type they accidentally spend a thousand dollars regularly, which will happen if you shop here. They had popsicles on sale for...no joke...$21 for 4. Made with like 5 ingredients. That is a whole other level of lazy. I mean I know takeout costs that much but dang. Wow this is insane. I've shopped here at least 100-200 times, spent thousands upon thousands of dollars. I really loved this place. Then right after I bought over a $100 worth of groceries I heard about the roach infestation that was in the news at this location. It really made my skin crawl because I had just purchased fresh juices, sushi, etc. that is made in the kitchen. I knew I couldn't consume it without feeling uneasy. So I called and asked if I could return and the guy after being pretty defensive agreed. I arrived and quietly said "hey I don't want to make a big deal about this but with everything going on I just want to return what I just purchased an hour ago" and the guy was like "everything?" I said "yes" he calls over the manager and the manager literally LAUGHS in my face and goes "the power of social media" "you realize only the smoothie bar was affected" .... If there are roaches at the smoothie bar, there are roaches in the kitchen. I said "I really don't want to argue" and he said "fine" He was just really rude to me as he was reluctantly refunding my items. It was so crazy because prior to this I've had good service, cashiers were kind and kitchen staff was cool. It sucks that this happened, I get it, it happened, but it is a health code violation and how I was treated after spending upwards of $10k at this store was pretty insane. I've had the annual membership for years. Sadly they lost a customer today. My first time at Erewhon! I came here to check out what the hype is all about and also to check out their water selection. I'm super passionate about drinking healthy, clean water and I was stoked at their selection! They carry a lot of great waters and a lot of them are in glass bottles. I also love that their Erewhon spring water is a private label version my favorite water of all time - Castle Rock Water! If I lived nearby I would be here all the time for the water alone. They don't move their product around and I noticed items in the back with dust on them. The produce looks good, but under the fresh produce I notice there are things that should not be sold. The prices are outrageous. I know the food is organic and some of it not that easy to come by, but it is insane in my opinion. I can get the same quality at Whole Foods or even Gelsons for some items at a fair price. The deli type area is nice as is there food to take away or eat there, it just is not great. it is not worth the price at all. The service, sadly, is not good. The Hailey Bieber smoothie is more on the sweeter strawberry banana side while the mango is more tart. Would I get it again? Yes but often? Unlikely for the price point. For the sushi it wasn't outrageous price either. We got 6 of nigiri for $21. The quality wasn't terrible but I wouldn't say it's top notched either. It's not a 5 star because the staff wasn't as friendly / helpful. I greeted the barista / cashier but they barely acknowledged it, they just looked at me like are you going to order?? This grocery store is definitely out of my tax bracket lol but I'll stop by every once in awhile for their smoothie, pressed juices or hot foods. The entire store is super aesthetic and organized. All the products are healthy and supposedly good for you--its just expensive. My favorite smoothie I've tried is the Frankies Bikini Mango smoothie. They usually a lot of high quality ingredients but its around $20 for one. I also really like their Heavenly pressed juice. It's around $15 but it's by far one of the best pressed juices I've had! Their parking lot is small but its usually pretty east to find street parking.
