This place Hive has great smoothies and coffee. The smoothies were delicious, and the coffee was really good too. I didn't get a chance to try the food, but they have a nice selection of healthy options that looked good. They also have a variety of interesting drinks. The space is cozy, very clean, and has a relaxed atmosphere. The staff was friendly.
I have only been at The Hive for the smoothies and each time they haven't disappointed. They do have a food menu with organic options, gluten-free snacks, and drinks. There is a small outdoor eating area in front with picnic tables that looks like they may be holdovers from Covid. The Hive also has a few small tables inside and outside too.
The Hive is a delicious, healthy, and filling neighborhood spot. Everything is packed with protein and it makes for such a balanced meal! My favorite thing was the beef brekkie burrito and the iced beekeeper latte.
The staff in this cute little SaMo café are so patient and nice. The food is delicious and the vibes are very chill and accepting. Love love love that the pastries are all vegan & gluten free (the whoopie pie was a nice treat). My Americano was very smooth too. All-day breakfast bowl is such a healthy option. And they have outlets and plenty of seating. Check this place out!
Healthy and variety menu items. Heavy vegan options including desserts. My blue alcemy smoothie was decent but plain. Not much flavor and expensive. The vegan cookies were decent but could've got better options from Whole Foods. However if I'm in the area, I'd still dine here since it's one of few healthy options in the area that's walkable to the beach. There's water closets available for guest only. Great for a day at the beach.
3.5/5: I got the Blue Alchemy, with granola, chia seeds, fruit, and bee pollen. The base has an amazing, thick consistency; a big plus that it didn't melt fast. I think Blue Alchemy is supposed to be their version of blue spirulina; there wasn't a prominent taste... very subtle coconut. The granola wasn't using typical oats, it was almost puffed, which was good but more similar to cereal. Fruits were sweet. It was around $15 and the bowl was pretty big, but not filling. 5/5: Def get the acai flavor, huge regret not going for the classic. It's probably the best acai flavor I've ever had. I always prefer blue spirulina, but I will get the classic acai bowl next time. Service is great. The ladies were fast and it took less than 10 mins to get my bowl. There was a lot of space when I went around Monday noon.

This is mainly a juice bar with breakfast entrees and coffee. I'd say the green hornet is the best smoothie out of all of the selections! Highly recommended. Açaí bowls are also available but we didn't order any. Parking is a pain however there is metered parking on the street. The service was fast and the staff was friendly. People bring their study materials here and sit to work and study inside. I came here and there was no line at all.
I wasn't sure what to expect of this place but I wanted to take my friend out for her birthday and I chose this place because I like to support businesses like this. Healthy, clean food and still a small business.....Fresh ingredients and ethically sourced.... They weren't busy and the staff were cool and nice. What did we get? My friend got a Beefy Brekkie Burrito and I as surprised she finished the whole thing.... I got the Buddha Bowl it was good overall it was great maybe there was one seasoning or spice I didn't like and I can't pinpoint what it was....cumin or turmeric? I love this place! It's so great to have healthy options here. This is what I love about SoCal. Açaí bowls and healthy options! I got the protein power bowl yesterday. It was so good that I'm going to have to try to make this at home! 70g of protein! All the ingredients were fresh. Chicken was delicious! The sauce was light! My husband got the chicken pesto wrap which he also liked very much! I had to come back the next day and try the acai bowl. This was pretty good as well. Pretty filling! Service was quick. I got the cacao smoothie and it was very icey & waterey tasting. The ingredients list also included dates and I tasted no dates. I am wondering if they forgot to add a lot of the key ingredients. I expected a rich, protein heavy smoothie as advertised. Was disappointed as it cost 18.77. read more

Let's take about The Hive! 5/5 across the board can't recommend this restaurant enough! Stumbled upon The Hive in the mood for a smoothie after a workout. It was a 3 min walk from the hotel and when I walked in, instant vibe! The signs on the wall were beautiful, and I was greeted right away. It is a healthier smoothie shop with a variety of smoothies PLUS the best avocado toast! I opted in for the avocado toast which was avocado, tomatoes, radishes and pickled radish plus a poached egg. The smoothie was strawberry banana with a "bee mixture" . Everything was delicious. I wanted to come back the next day to try the smoked salmon toast but we didn't have time! If you're ever in the Santa Monica area don't miss out on The Hive. read more

After reading the menu I was really excited to try this place! I ordered Donnie's breakfast burrito, the total came to $22 because I added avocado which was a $2.50 additional charge. The burrito was very small for the price and quite soggy. Not to mention there was barely a speck of avocado, I almost thought they forgot to add it yet I was still charged for it. Had I not already taken it to go, I would've disputed the extra charge. Very disappointed with my experience. I believe in paying extra for restaurants that prioritize healthy and higher quality ingredients but I honestly feel scammed. read more
Standard acai place to satisfy your acai cravings. Toppings are fresh and flavorful. I wish they would allow more toppings for their standard price. Service was kind and quick. Plenty of indoor seating and some limited outdoor seating. read more

Breakfast burrito is solid but nothing exciting compared to what else is in LA. However honey coffee is great and açaí bowl was solid as well. I like that this place feels healthy and they care about what ingredients go into your food. read more
On a whim, I stopped for a quick bite/take out order. This spot is very cool. Vibrant, nicely decorated, just fun to be inside or outside if ya have a pup with you. The menu was enticing. Many items jumped out at me, but for my first time, the Kale Ceasar caught my eye. It surely did not disappoint. The chicken was hidding underneath all the other ingredients which made for a delicious first, unexpected bite. To compliment my meal, I ordered the Matcha mint Smoothie. It was refreshing and filling. Every smoothie sounded fantastic, so i'll be trying something different for my next visit. Great vibe, great location, and fantastic service! It is walk up and order. I appreciate the friendliness of the the gentleman working, great energy to welcome me into the store. They weren't to busy when I arrived. My order was ready in about 5 minutes and I was on my way. I love The Hive. It's my go to healthy option for breakfast, lunch and even a quick dinner when I'm in West LA. I visit the Santa Monica and Marina Del Rey locations. They have many gluten free options as well as organic coffee and lattes. I'm obsessed with the high protein açaí bowl, it's got gluten free granola and bee pollen and agave on top. The açaí itself is blended with almond milk so it's not too sweet and remains on the healthier side versus some places that mix with juice. They both have small interiors with seating outside and also to go options are easy to order online. read more

The worst latte I've ever tested! I got two lattes now but it doesn't even taste like a latte. Not good taste, tasted like expired milk or something doesn't even taste like latte. Only thing they have good is their sandwiches. they have to work on making good drinks. If you wanna try get try their food not any hot drinks. read more
This place will satisfy your healthy cravings! I woke up this morning wanting a healthy meal with eggs. With a quick search, other cafes looked pretty heavy and oily for the morning but this place seemed to be what I was looking for. We got the og breakfast burrito & egg sandwich. The portions were pretty big for our first meal of the day. Food came out quick in less than 10 minutes. There are plenty of other healthy options to choose from. Been to Hive before and tried an açaí bowl there, and could not start thinking when I would be back. This time I decided to try breakfast option- something with eggs. I decided to go with a breakfast burrito, and I loved it! Super thin wrap, with delicious potato, avocado, veggies and egg inside, you can also add bacon or else if you want! I liked how soft, hot and tender the insides were. Sauce deserves separate attention- it tastes like a little spicy eggplant something, very delicious, it's mix with burrito was a great choice! AVO toast with boiled egg was amazing too! One of the things I like here- informal ambience of the place inside, colorful graffitis and wall paintings. read more

For the ultimate Acai bowl experience in LA, look no further than indulging your taste buds at The Hive in Santa Monica. As an avid Acai Bowl connoisseur, I hold high standards with how my Acai bowl should taste. For example, how is the balance and ratio of all the ingredients in the bowl? Are the fruits fresh? Does the Acai taste cheap or premium? I've tried Acai Bowls at franchise spots like Uba Tuba, as well as spots like Body Energy Club. And of all the places I've been to, none have quite reached the pinnacle set by The Hive in terms of price, quality, and taste. In fact, the only two places I would ever have an Acai bowl in LA would be 1. The Hive and 2. Body Energy Club. To me, The Hive has established itself as the benchmark for Acai bowl excellence, so much so that it has rendered alternatives like Uba Tuba to be inadequate in comparison. I ordered the build your own Acai Bowl with an Acai base. Complemented by strawberries, banana, and blueberries for my fruits. Hemp granola and cacao nibs for my toppings. And finishing it off with almond butter and a drizzle of honey. Judging by the taste alone, you can tell The Hive only uses premium ingredients. And with locations in SM and Marina Del Ray, it comes to no surprise, as less than premium ingredients used would not fly with the demographic in these areas. You can also really taste the freshness of the fruits, which I appreciate. They don't cheap out by using fruits that are days past its peak in terms of taste and freshness. I come here every Saturday after my running workouts and it has not failed in terms of consistency and quality to this day. You can also expect an inviting ambiance, and the staff here are a delight. Parking is fairly easy to find, but they will be meter parking by the half hour as an FYI. Overall, a fantastic place for Acai bowls! Also, their other warm dishes are phenomenal as well. The smoked salmon avocado toast and breakfast burritos are some of the most tastiest dishes I've had in LA by far. I can't find any complaints about this place thus far, so 5 stars to The Hive. read more

A great place for the health-conscious! The HIVE is located in a very convenient area in downtown Santa Monica, close to many other shops, the promenade, the beach, etc. I love that there are cute picnic like benches as outside seating; it makes for a wonderful group gathering location. They have a standard cafe menu here, as well as various breakfast items, smoothies, and macro bowls/cold bowls. You can even build your own! My bf ordered the breakfast burrito here. It came with salsa, which helped, but the burrito itself could have used more flavor. We had to salt it outselves. I ordered the Shroom Macro Bowl. The dressing as very flavorful and packed a zesty spicy punch, but it also could've been salted better. Docking a star because the food had lots of potential, but we had to salt it ourselves for better flavor. I also got a "Chaggaccino" which is basically a mushroom latte made with honey, cinnamon, cacao? TBH, it tasted just like a normal latte, just a bit earthier. No hint of mushroom at all, but supposedly "Chaga" is filled with lots of great antioxidants! Friendly staff, lots of indoor and outdoor seating, street parking all around - great place for brunch, coffee, or a healthy post workout snack! I did love feeling good about eating something so nutritious after this meal! read more
We stopped on in one morning, before heading downtown. We had many requests for different breakfast options and this was the perfect place to stop in! It's located along a main road, next to a couple other good spots. We've been on the block three times on our trip! The options included, smoothies, a delight breakfast sandwich (more later), breakfast burritos as well as breakfast bowls and toasts. Lots of options for lots of palates and everyone left happy! The breakfast sandwich wasn't something I was expecting a ton from, but it was downright amazing! The biggest win was the bread - thinner sliced ciabatta that was both crispy and light. Ciabatta tends to be so substantial that it makes the sandwich innards seem less significant. Not so here! A good runny egg, some delicious bacon and great fixins. The smoothies were plentiful and delicious. The salmon toast was also a delight- the favorite part was the dual runny egg. Done perfectly and the perfect complement to the toast. Coffee and iced tea was solid. The folks working here were very nice and helpful. They got things done quick and were very friendly. The place has a colorful theme and a great vibe. Glad we got to check it out and it's a place we'll likely stop again! read more

Is your acai sugar free?
Hi Angel, the acai base we use is 100% pure acai so there is no sugar, however when bananas or other fruit toppings are added it adds the fruit or sweetener sugar.
Do they serve Kava?
