Trust me I know how bad they are. Went once for initial visit. One doctor walked out mid conversation never returned. I guess he was done just never let the nurse and myself he was done. Second was a consultation with Dr. George after the consultation was over they give me an estimate of $25,000 and refused to submit it to insurance. Dr. George has a reputation for being a skilled surgeon and I don't doubt that. But my debacle of an experience with a staff member has me questioning why a professional of his stature would hire such incompetent staff. I had an informative, but greatly over priced consultation. I was elated when I left the office because I thought my hopes of getting denture implants was really going to happen. The practice manager had to call my insurance about coverage & said she would call me the next day. It has been a month and I still have not heard from her. I called the office every 2-3 days and she was always unavailable. I left messages for a call back but still no response. I wrote a letter to Dr. George explaining my situation but still have not heard from them. Apparently no respect for the patient. read more

I am very disappointed and upset. I have been waiting to see the Dentist sense November 2019 (approximately 8 months) between changing insurance companies and covid 19 plus the fact I had to wait for a pre-auth for a deep cleaning (which i suspect they forgot to process because i have been waiting for 2 months) Anyway i finally had an appointment for 07-21-20. I received a call on 07-17-20 to tell me my pre-auth hasn't been approved. I then explained to the person on the other end of the phone that I was pre-approved. After researching she found out it was approved and my appointment on Tuesday was allset. I show up today 07-21-20 and they to tell me they removed me because I never confirmed my appointment. I know I am one person but I will never go to see this dentist ever again!!! read more

as a small business owner in Coventry, I try to promote other small businesses. stay away from Eric George. I am still dealing with the trauma of his poor treatment. Cleanings are fine...when I "needed" something more (which I question now as he is after insurance money and high fees) it was a disaster. read more

Have to say this is the best dental office my family and I have ever been too. Knowledgeable and up to date. His hygienists are friendly and informative. The front desk easy to work with and are very pleasant. The atmosphere there is always welcoming. My daughter has had oral surgery and braces through this office. First off, the girls up front and hygienists were all great. I had a bad dental experience 10 years ago, and have avoided dentists. I had a broken molar for a few years, so decided to travel 1 hour from home to try letting "the best dentist" (Dr George) repair it. 1st visit, we did xrays, and Dr Shehadeh came in and said he was going to pull it. I refused to pull it, as I wanted to save the tooth. So the only option was a root canal and crown. A few months later, I tried to book the treatment with Dr George, and was told he only does surgeries, and that I had to use Dr Shehadeh. 2nd visit, I get in the chair, and I explained how I had a severe reaction to local anesthetic (novocaine) the last time. Dr Shehadeh stated that this reaction would be avoided by taking a sedation pill before the visit, and that I needed a ride to and from the office. The other option was full IV sedation (anesthesia) which I made clear I was not comfortable with at all. 3rd visit, I came in for a pre-op to receive my Rx for the pills, and filled the prescription on my way home. Unfortunately, my ride (girlfriend) had to cancel later on that night, and I needed to reschedule it. I spoke to the office the next morning, and the practice manager told me that I couldn't reschedule unless I had a full IV sedation. I asked why, as this made no logical sense to me. I made it known I had not taken the pills yet, and just needed to reschedule. She said it was because I wasted an hour of their time by missing the appointment. I replied that this seems like some sort of punishment for the missed appointment. She said IV sedation with Dr. George was the only way to reschedule because Dr Shehadeh refused to reschedule with me, and Dr. George only does IV sedation. This didn't make sense to me, and I expressed if IV sedation was the only way to reschedule, I would prefer a refund so that I could go elsewhere. She told me she would not refund me unless I drove all the way back there and personally brought the pills back to her and hung up on me. (as if I was a pill junky and had already taken them) I tried calling back twice, and was unable to reach her. I left her a voicemail, and did not receive a call back. I called CVS to ask the pharmacist if I should really return the pills to the dentist office? She told me not to, and to dispose of them properly. I went there after work with the pills to get my refund. I stated I did not feel comfortable giving an Rx with my name on it to someone in an office, and preferred to return them to the pharmacy for disposal. She back pedaled and said she can not take the pills back, as they are not a depository for old medication. I explained that this 100% conflicted what she had threatened me with over the phone. I was really looking forward to having Dr. George repair my tooth, but after not being able to get treatment from him and reading all of the other reviews here, I am glad it worked out the way it did. I am now seeking treatment elsewhere. read more

Dr. George has gone above and beyond to help me. I was a difficult case and needed three dental implants after a failed implant and a failed bone graft. Throughout the entire process, Dr. George had never given up on me. The staff at Dr. George's office are amazing, friendly, and so accommodating. Love Dr. George! read more

Best dental experience hands down. I see Tara for dental hygiene and I never feel discomfort. For dental services, I see Dr Shehadeh. Everyone in this office is exceedingly kind. Very rude I pre paid for a few appointments. I had to cancel day before Christmas when I called they told me that I could never make another appointment again. Due to fact I missed my last appt. I was driving there in a blizzard 10 minutes late they told me to turn around go home. That was only time I missed. The MANAGER . Has 0 customer service skills and was very rude basically told me to find another dentist! I pre paid for a flipper tooth that they have yet to deliver to me. $1000. I am outraged and upset after I have been a customer for 12+ years. This is what happens when small business gets too big!!!! No apologies from them or call back from the actual dentist. read more

Had a tooth root-canal and was being fitted when she started grinding down some other teeth on my partials to get a better fit. I asked not to grind my bottom plate (Metal) down too much because it might make it weak. Sure enough 1 month later the plate broke in the area she was grinding. I went back (Foolish me) and complained to the Office manager and she told me that I was completely wrong that the Dentist does not have the tools for the grinding that was done. Never went back and don't plan to in the future. Dr. George should of instructed his Dentist on what to do and the Office manager should of had a better attitude towards their mistakes. I have never actually rated a place on Yelp before but I feel like I need to do this review. I have been terrified of the dentist since i was younger (I am 23 now) I had a consult done and they told me that I needed basically a cavity filled on every single tooth and a couple of root canals. I have severe anxiety around dentists. When I told them this, they offered to put me to "sleep" for 4 hours and to just do everything. Sounds great right? Dr. George said that he would have to wake me up several times throughout the procedure to see if I was ok. Also, there would be no nurse or anything there in case something went wrong. I ended up going to another doctor and I told him their plan. He was absolutely mortified when I told him I would be put to sleep for 4 hours. Apparently that is really dangerous to do in an office setting. Really glad I ended up going somewhere else where they were able to prescribe me some anxiety meds instead. Don't go to this place, all they do is care about money. read more

I went to Dr. George's office for my first appointment back in September 2016. After taking my x-rays, I was told that I needed to have 2 root canals & had 9 cavaties. I was shocked as my teeth had never been that bad in my life, so I scheduled my next appointment where they would fill the first 4 cavaties. Skeptical though, I visited my old dentist in MA and told him what Dr. George's office had said. He laughed. He took his own x-rays and said he saw none of that. I immediately cancelled my appointment for the first 4 fillings. Fast forward to March 2017 for my next cleaning with Dr. George's office. They brought in another doctor to look at my x-rays and she confirmed I did need those 2 root canals but maybe not as many fillings. Dr. George even personally looked at my x-rays and said the same thing. I then went to a another dentist in RI who I've never met before for a third opinion. He took his own x-rays and reviewed Dr. George's. To this doctor, there is ONE spot he would keep an eye on, but certainly no root canals or cavities.. If I had gone ahead and let Dr. George's office work on my teeth, the cost for all that work is over $6,800.. read more

I used to go to this practice for years. I needed a root canal. I made an appointment far enough in advance that I would get Dr. George and not someone else. I confirmed at the time of making the appointment that I wanted Dr. George. The day of the appointment, Someone else walked in. I indicated my appointment was with Dr. George "He only does surgeries now". I asked in a different way later on and was told "we wanted to make sure you got this taken care of before it became a problem". Uh, that's why I booked 3 months in advance while it wasn't a problem. Which answer is it??? So the 2nd string dentist was drilling around and couldn't find one of the roots. What does he do? Call in Dr. George to find it and drill. I feel as if I got pawned off on a rookie who needed practice or a guarantee of "playing time on the field". That's the way you treat patients? I find this disrespectful and deceitful. When I first started going to see Dr. George I actually got to see Dr. George. Over the past few years the office staff keeps changing and I never know who I'll be seeing. I had faith in Dr. George and believed him when he recommended a course of treatment...now I feel like it's all about making money. My mother, my aunt, my daughter and myself have all been told from different doctors within the practice that we needed either over priced crowns, Root canals or fillings, only to have found out from other offices that NONE of these were necessary!!! I'm so disgusted with the whole situation that I'm looking into contacting someone either in the news or elsewhere to check into this office! The final straw came today when my aunt, who was told from a dentist in Dr. George's office that she needed two filling's and a crown. After hearing the same story from others she decided to go to another dentist office, armed with her x rays, and was told that not only doesn't she need a crown...she also doesn't have any cavities that need filling!!! Her new dentist didn't even charge her for the visit today even though it took up time, he stated that there was no reason for her to be treated so he couldn't in good faith charge her. It truly makes me sad at what has happened to this practice. In my family alone 8 people have moved on to other dentists. Believe me, everyone that any one of us comes into contact with will be advised of our experiences. read more

Went to Eric George DMD and associates on sandy bottom rd in coventry with a friend because due to her being in the medical billing as a profenssional she was unsure of why she had to go to a second consultation with cost of $60 out of pocket because she was quite clear when she made the phone call to make the appointment that she had an exposed root in one tooth giving her severe pain and five fillings that were cracking her teeth and needed to be replaced. She also explained that she had a very bad gag reflex due to a previous stomache surgery and a really bad case if anxiety and wanted to be sedated during the procedures. Reasoning why she chose this practice is because they sedated. Her first consultation she was told she was not seeing the right Dr because he didnt sedate and that she would have to come back and consult with the right Dr at a later date with a cost of $60 out of pocket because her insurance wouldn't pay for the 2nd consultation. We waited 45 min in the waiting room which seemed to be modern and clean but when we went into the back patient rooms they were very dirty and ugly. The place smelled awful. Broken outlets. Holes in the walls... equipment filthy. So unlike what we saw in the waiting room. We waited 15 more minutes for the office manager who came in very disheveled and i asked her why we had to wait so long and why this visit was happening and why she was being charged out of pocket. She gave us soom balogna excuse and when i didnt except it and said that the fee should be waived because they should have made the appointment with the right Dr in the first place. She became irate standing over me while I was sitting down speaking loudly at me while pointing her fingers at me. Then stormed out of the room. We waited 22 min longer for Dr to come in after that. In that time i continued to look around this what I could only describe as a weird money making tooth factory. I stepped out into the hall where i could hear the Dr arguing with another patient saying " I'm not trying to be confrontational with you but this is what it is and this is what it cost" my friend is upset by now and running to the bathroom to throw up when he comes in with the office manager. When I explain what has just happened with her she rolls her eyes at me sucks her teeth and puts her hand up in my face like talk to the hand and storms out mumbbling derogatory things. Another Dr steps out of a room to see the comotion and cheers her on. Extremely unprofessional, dirty and after feedback on social media seems as though they are scamming alot of people out of money.
