Maybe I'm the outlier here, but I'd give this place five solid stars! Chico doesn't have many full-service car washes - only two to my knowledge. My SUV took a beating from the recent rain and needed some serious TLC. Eric's received my business not because of their namesake (lol), but because of their impressive website. The main focus for my vehicle was the rims. While the other full-service car wash in town does a good job, I've always known them to skimp on this component. Eric's website clearly stated that with their "Gold" wash package, rims would get two separate cleanings. I'm glad I went with this company because that's exactly what my vehicle had gotten. The shop is in central Chico and has been in this very location for years and years. The configuration is fairly rudimentary where the customer pulls up, is greeted, pays, and then waits. The waiting room, while nothing special, was clean and comfortable with plenty of reading material and a television. Even though there were only two other customers on the Friday afternoon I patronized this spot, my wash took 45 minutes. However, it was well justified. I watched the employee treat my old vehicle like a million bucks. He ever-so-carefully folded the towels before wiping the surfaces, and paid close attention to all components. I was impressed. Eric's somehow managed to make my aging vehicle appear flawless. I admire the level of care that was put into my wash. I now know who to turn to the next time my vehicle needs a bath! read more

$36 for their "gold package." It should take about "20 minutes or so." they said. Here I am an hour later and my car finally pulls out. Trunk completely untouched inside. "Oh that costs extra to get the inside of the trunk." They tell me. "Interesting how I was never informed or given the option even when saying I'd like a full service, inside and out. The inside ledge of the back window also untouched and completely covered in animal hair. I'd imagine they'd have some type of spray to remove the lot number written o no the window when the car was shipped but apparently not....I point out all the spots that needed to be done still and they took it back. Now over an HOUR AND A HALF and counting still.....to do what I could have done with a hand vacuum and a drive through car wash in 10 minutes tops. read more

We ordered the Gold service for around $37 dollars and pleased with the job, our car looked clean on the inside and outside. There was a nice waiting area with magazines to pass the time and sanitizers available as well for the clean freak. In the waiting area there's a tip box that we assumed would be divided for all workers. As we were leaving, we made sure to note that we dropped a tip for them at the box and that's when we found out the workers don't get any of the tips. We felt so bad especially since we didn't have any more cash. As a business, I think this is a poor practice and feels a a lot like cheating. For anyone else who wants to go here, service is good but make sure you give your tips directly to the boys, they deserve it. read more

Would not recommend spending your hard earned dollars here. My truck had water spots and dirt all over it not to mention the inside was not wiped down any better. Never again with this place. I went to Eric's to get my car washed and after waiting for over an hour, I get my car back and it looked horrible. They didn't vacuum the trunk area or wipe it down, none of the cup holders were wiped down, they didn't even touch the front. I went in to discuss what I saw, the guy working saw it, and had asked if I wanted them to "try again". I was there for over an hour, with my toddler - I was not going to wait for them to "try again". I asked for just half my money back and they refused. This place is a joke. This was my first time using Eric's Car Wash and it will be my last. I probably could have gotten a better hand wash from the local cheerleader's charity car wash. They missed several spots around the car including the all bugs that were in the front grill and left dust and dirt behind on the door handles. I have a black SUV and they left water spots all over the entire car. They must have used wet rags to dry it off because it looks terrible. The mirrors were also left streaky and foggy as well. And when I got home i discovered they didn't even bother to wash the roof. For $35 dollars and waiting for over an hour, I expected it to be done right. I just took my Chevy Equinox in for a detail and MAN, did they ever do a fantastic job! My car was dirty, had water spots, my husband spilled a chocolate bar that melted onto my driver's seat, my granddaughter's toddler feet had soiled the back of the rear seating, and the whole car was just in need. Brandon made that car look like silk. The entire car is perfect. He got rid of the chocolate stain. I forgot to say after my husband left the melted chocolate on the seat, he tried to clean it with an oil stained shop rag. Yep - and lived to tell about it. So I had chocolate mixed with oil stain - but the detailer at Eric's Car Wash got that cloth seat to look like brand new - no stain. The back seat looks like new. All of the water spots and staining - gone. The windows - like new windows. When you touch the car it feels like silk. They really outdid themselves on this one. I'm going on an important trip and called them on Sunday about 3 and they took my car in at 8:30 the next morning. By 2 my car looked like it just came off the showroom floor. At Eric's Car Wash they have gas, which makes it so convenient to service your car. They fill your tank, they wash the car, they dry it - it isn't like one of those drive-throughs where the major stuff comes off of your car, but your interior is still dirty and the exterior is still spotted up - they get the car clean inside and out and dry it by hand. They are always decent and friendly. I've had my car done in there since the 1990s and I've never had anything taken out of my car - they have always been honest. They are always polite. They get it done as quickly as they can. I highly recommend Eric's Car Wash for both regular car wash and dry and also for automotive detail. read more

Lousy job. I paid for the top car wash that includes extra attention to rims, interior cleaning including windows. The rims were still dirty. The interior windows were wiped, but not cleaned, and ended up just looking like the dirt and dust were smeared all over. They vacuumed the interior but didn't wipe anything down as far as I could tell because still finger prints, etc., on wood and trims. Really lousy service for a $36 car wash. And my car wasn't even that dirty. I am the only one who uses it and I never eat in it or smoke. It's not that hard to get it clean. read more

For me, Eric's Car Wash is just ok. I have been a couple times to have my car cleaned because it was too cold outside to wash it myself! I haven't had much trouble with them except for the fact that it is a bit overpriced and their staff is not the friendliest. My friend however, had a very bad encounter. He called to have his motor home detailed so they told him to be there the next day at 7:30 am to get an estimate. He showed up at 7:30 am as told and no one was there! He wanted a few minutes, and one worker arrived who was very rude. However it was not the person who could give him an estimate. He was told to leave his vehicle and they would clean it. But for what price? That was not given and they could not tell him when someone would be in to give him that. What happened to 7:30 am!? Great customer service right!? So he left and went to Scrubbs where they gave him a price right away and did a great job. All in all, I would steer clear from Eric's just to be safe. read more

Paid $30.95 for a full service wash. The outside was good but the inside was done without effort! The service gal informed me she couldn't get the dirt off the second row seats. It's as if she didn't try because my hands were able to wipe off just fine! Will not return! Lack of work ethic these days! read more

These folks are wonderful! I want to especially give a shout out to Rose one of their employees!!! She is a woman of integrity and a credit to this organization. She found something valuable in my car that I didn't even know was there. She could have easily kept this and not said anything. Instead she handed me my property with a smile and I have been so thankful ever since! Bless you, Rose for your kindness and honesty. I will never go anywhere else to wash my car. Worst car wash ever! I paid $30 for interior and exterior detailing plus have the attendant an extra $5 to make it perfect. It was horrible inside! When I complained I was told it was extra to get off doghair as I pulled out a handful of fur from the crack of the seat. Ok how about the spilled coffee still on the console, the smudges on the window, the grease on the doorframe and the dirty door rest. They used to be a good place but now they are just lazy and don't care. I hear there is an new full service detail place up off skyway. From now on that's where I'll be going and I suggest you do too. read more

I unfortunately did not have a great experience with them this week and therefore will not go back. I have gone here multiple times and I never know what I am going to get with my car wash. There is a girl (sorry I do not know her name) that is great at washing my car and makes sure the guys get my car clean. I have a red/orange pollen on my car and she gets it off, no one else does... This week I went through and when I got home realized my fin was gone and my car was not clean. I went back the next day to see if the fin was there and they couldn't find it- wasn't to mad about that because most car washes do have a warning about this happening. However, when I asked the guy working if they would run it through again because it was not clean he said he couldn't guarantee it being clean and wanted me to pay. Ha! What a joke. Won't be going back and would not recommend. read more

I've been taking my car here because I respect that they recycle water. What I didn't know is how lousy their management is, and how they take advantage of both customers and laborers in a deceptive manner. After paying nearly $30 for a car wash and vacuum, the man washing my car told me that he didn't know the hatchback was broken. This could've caused serious injury. The cashier, though, had communicated that to someone, and it seems he didn't receive the info. I felt bad and thus put a $5 in the waiting room locked box labeled "TIPS APPRECIATED." After he finished my car, I told him I'd left the tip. He said I wasn't supposed to leave it there (although it says, again, "TIPS APPRECIATED.") I then spoke with the cashier and asked that my $5 go to Alex. She said "NO." Eric is apparently hardly ever around. He supposedly divides those tips among himself and other staff who don't labor in the hot sun. Who ever heard of such a thing? Tips for the non-car washing staffers at a car-wash?? I'm appalled. Sketchy business. Please don't use them. I hope Eric enjoys a coffee on me (but not really). My tip was meant for the man who worked on my car. I still await a phone-call from him but don't expect one. I won't be returning. Recycling water is good. Stealing from your laborers and customers to get every last dollar you can is despicable. read more

The worst place in town to get your car washed. The owner is a complete JERK! Don't take your car there if you like the looks of your car. I used to go to this place because it was close to my place of work and for the most part they were not too bad. I drive a nice car and I like to get it washed and then hand dried so it looks nice. Well a lot of times I had to warn the guys who dry up the car with their towels to not put their town on the ground before they dry up the car. That would scratch the car bad. I was ok with that until the last time I went there. As I was in the actual car wash driving my car, one of the spinning brushes crashed into my car during wash with its metal column! Not once but three times while it was spinning. The actual metal part of the washer scratched my car and bent my mirror! The guys who were waiting to dry up my car saw the whole thing. I told the employees what happened in the car wash. They said "We saw it happen dude! Are you ok?" The employees said, this happens often and they hate it but there is nothing they can do about it. I asked to see a manager just to tell them what happened to my car. The owner came out and looked at my car in a very stand offish way and said, "This didn't happen over here!" I called his employees in. They looked very afraid of the owner. The owner told them to get the f.... out of that area and then told me to "Get the hell out of his parking." He is rude and mean to his employees and customers. Not only I didn't get my car cleaned but I got my car damaged. I will never go back to this place again! For car washing and periodic cleaning this place is superior to any other car washing business I have used in Chico. This is not for auto detailing, but if you want a hard wax, buffing, interior detailing etc they offer that service as well The gentleman in charge does a good job of that. read more

I brought my 67 fastback for a hand wash. Worst ever! I do not even think they used soap, I can see residue and grime marks. The "full service" includes wash, interior vacuum, and tires. The inside still has dirt pieces on the carpet, the inside windows were not done. Nothing was wiped down. Looks like shit. I called and asked for a manager. Spoke to Rose, she passed the phone to apparently the detailer, a guy who could have cared less. I asked for a refund. He said call back in 5mins. I will not be returning. read more

I have appreciated the good service here, but will never come back after witnessing the owner curse and fire an employee in front of customers and other employees. Someone needs to take a course on anger management... and maybe learn how to act like a professional. Having just moved to Chico, and needing a car wash, I chose Eric's. I was a little skeptical at first because there was no one telling me where to go. It seemed that an older man then gestured me to drive up. I read a sign that stated, Eric's car wash is not responsible for lost items in your car during wash. I thought to myself, what's the worst that could happen. So, I opted for the most expensive car wash and went on to pay. The inside of the store looked old and incomplete. I was wondering if they had just moved or they were about to go out of business? I waited for a quite a while before seeing my car come out of the wash. As I waited and looked at the attendants drying cars I thought hmmm they all look a little sketchy. I had a tip waiting, and I saw my car being finished. Overall, the wash was eh okay for $35 and change. As I left and did some errands I looked in my change compartment in my car and noticed ALL THE CHANGE was gone. Where did it go? Also, I had some other little parts of my car I needed and they were gone too. I preceded to look all around my car and nothing! Gone! I had to call and talk to a manager who basically said he would look in the trash for me and he'll ask around to his employees. Did he say, Sorry, or let me get you another wash or anything? NO. He also said he would look at his cameras and get back to me. (Never did he get back to me) He said, nothing like this has happened before. BLAH BLAH. Since telling numerous Chico residents, they have told me there are no good car washes in Chico. I have been to so many car washes in many different places, i.e I lived in Stockton for 5 years, and trusted in them. I am so upset. All in all, DO NOT GO TO ERIC'S! Dropped my car off, told me my car would be washed in an hour and a half. Came back car wasn't done, windshield was cracked and they said they didn't do it. Asked for refund owner refused to give me my money back and refused to fix my windshield even though his employee broke it. read more

Good service but horrible management,,they ruined my brand new $1,700 rims ,,the employee ran my rims against the metal wheel track and gashed and scraped both of my rims on the drivers side and when I asked them to pls take care of it, they basically told me to get lost,,we can't do anything for you. read more

We are planning to install a car seat for our baby this weekend but we first wanted the inside of the car to be as clean as we could get it. We have a dog who rides in the backseat most days, so there was a LOT of hair to deal with. We chose the full wash with the interior cleaning and vacuuming for just $27. They did a great job for the price and were quick and friendly. We will definitely return. read more

Detail Job was done very poorly. Inside of the car was hardly wiped down. The detailer left after the job we weren't able to speak to him the cash register offered to try and "clean" it herself. Definitely not worth the $200 low quality job. I wouldn't recommend. I never like giving bad reviews but I had to be honest based off my experience hope they do better services to anyone who goes to this location. read more

Lady told me when I pulled up that they would vacuum and wipe down and clean the inside and outside of my car for 35.00$$. Me and my buddy go wait in the waiting room and about 5 minutes later the young man comes inside and tells me my vehicle is ready! We both walk out I can tell he didn't dry my car all the way. I look inside and there is ton of dog hair and tons of dirt which they never told me dog hair was an extra 10$. Please never go here it is a big waste of your money! I have literally never left a yelp review until now because I only use yelp to find places to eat. However, the pathetic version of what this place calls a carwash warranted one. The whole place is filled with idiots. I decided to try this place for the first time and completely wasted my money and time. After I paid for the wash you get the choice to drive or let an employee drive. Thank god I did not let one of these idiots drive my car and create further damage. As I drove in I noticed a metal scratching sound under my car which stopped me from continuing to drive forward. While i relayed this information to the worker he continued to tell me to "just keep coming forward". Until i had to notice my self that this ghetto car was had a loose metal slat wedging into the bottom of my car. Now on to the car wash. They literally used a common hose and a few soggy rags with minimal soap to wash random parts of my car then proceeded to have me drive through a bunch of old cracked plastic pieces slapping my car for like 10 seconds until it was time to dry. Needless to say my car was not clean in any form. I was then waived off to leave. I had to get out and literally point out spots to clean, as if these morons did not have eyes of their own. The whole top of my car was not touched. They could not even properly clean my windshield. Which I had to finish up myself at the nearest gas station. Car has dirt marks in several places around the car. There is no way this sorry excuse for a car wash has return customers. Each and every employee was a slow minded moron. read more

You know what's tougher than hell? Running a car wash in California, that's what. Think about it for a minute. You havet the business end of things to tend to, on top of making sure the EPA is happy, none of your employees' get injured on the heavy machinery and keeping your customers happy. It's a lot! Eric's has been open for something like 20 years. 20 years! You get in, you get a quality wash, you get out. Super simple. 9 times out of 10, I have no complaints. There's a comfortable place to wait while your car gets serviced, or you can take a walk around the block, like Robert S did. Maybe you stay, grab a Rockstar, talk to the cute cashier girls, do some shop talk with the line guys for a second or so because they are always busy and super efficient and then you're on your way. Before coming to Eric's Car Wash, I previously went to Scrubbs. My new kittens got scared and wet their travel carriers, so cat urine had leaked onto the seat and floor. Scrubbs offered to take care of this as part of a pricey "executive" wash, but the next day my Ford Escape didn't smell any different. I'd ended up paying for a car wash I didn't need. I came to Eric's and they quoted me just $15 for dealing with the cat urine. It was so cheap that I was skeptical, but when they were done my car smelled perfect, so I gave a big tip. I'm glad I did, as there was no lingering odor the next day. Cat urine defeated. Kudos to Eric's Car Wash for doing for $15 what Scrubbs failed to do for several times that price. For me, the only down side of the experience is that the waiting room is dreary as all get out and there wasn't any communication about how long it would take them to finish washing. It ended up taking about 45 minutes. They have a few 80s arcade machines, but they weren't powered on, and there was just a tiny TV for entertainment. They should really go with the 80s thing and add some kind of arcade signage and ensure those machines are turned on for customers, and look at what else they can do to spruce up that bleak area. read more

I saw a lot of poor reviews, but I must say my experience was great here. I got tired of a poor job being done at Scrubs, so I gave Eric's Car Wash a try. They were priced a lot better, there wasn't as long of a wait and they actually got everything clean! Plus the guys finishing up the wash were very friendly. Well i see now why it only has 2 stars. I accomplished 2 things here today. My first time , and last. Not convenient at all for someone just needing a quick wash. You have to sit in car in line to wait for them to vaccum out the cars in front getting a detail. Needs to come up with a faster system to make everyone happy. I took my car to Eric's car wash and wash it and clean inside it was a new 2013 Ford I just bought less than a month ago from Chuck Patterson they had given me new floormats for it when I got my car back not only was there change missing out of my console my floormat was broken where it snaps to the car and the inside was still dirty ,(there was a lady behind me complaining about her car still being dirty inside )I spoke with the owner who didn't seem to care and just about called me a liar stating it was broke before I got in there I will never take my car there again for anything read more

I bought the Gold wash -$33.95. It took a nice long time on a Thursday afternoon but I figured it was because they were doing an excellent job. When I got home and begin to empty my car, I noticed the inside of the doors and the hatch back, nor the cup holders had even been wiped out. I took it back the next day and the attendant told me that wasn't included because it wasn't a detail job! They didn't even wipe the dirt off the door panels!
