Wow, this business is just heading down hill. I quit before because of these same problems, but I am giving it a try again. Guess what, worse than ever. Prep person just wets the front and sometimes the side and most of the time, ignores the back. The rear of our suv is never clean. The vertical brush on the right lags and swings way out and never really touches the passenger side of the other small car we drive. Employees generally seem like they are miserable working there. Now, I have to tip to get a clean car. So now, I don't tip anymore. So sad. I'm going to quit the business again. On a good note, the vacuum area is great to use. read more

This is extremely important and I have to do something about it. I am not very happy & very dissatisfied with one of your services in Chico when we took my SUV (Ford Explorer, navy blue color) to the Surf thru Express Car Wash in the south part of Chico, CA last August 8th. People were nice but not sure about their "integrity" (or your company's?), we chose the top level, $22 one-time payment. Yet, they did not do a good job which caused us to redo *twice* (driving thru the wash bldg) within minutes due to numerous dissatisfactions. If the credit hasn't been reversed, we have to let our attorney know. They are waiting for our "green light:" (or not). You have until next week, August 20th. I dislike making threats but based upon a few places like yours taken advantage of us, deaf people. Hope you understand my discouragement. It crushes our hearts typing you an email like this. A great and convenient "subscription" car wash. I am from San Diego, and we have something similar to this, Soapy Joe. The first time you go, you get set up with the service you want, and they put a sticker in your car window. Never a long line, easy in, easy out. Pro - a reasonable price - vacuums are free - They offer a wet wipe (Soapy Joe needs to get on this and offer it) - they sell you cold drinks Con. - the Espalande site, if you need to make a left turn into their lot, and the street is busy, it is difficult to turn in. I suggest the other location, on Forest Ave. The Forest Ave. location is in a shopping center, easier to pull in. read more

Absolutely, Undeniably HORRIBLE. For so many reasons that you can't even begin to wrap your head around, not only does this specific car wash, disappoint but they are extremely unprofessional!!!! Their employees that prep your car before the automatic wash are pure Lazy, UNEDUCATED, UNDERTRAINED, and LACK SERIIUS CUSTOME SERCIXE!!! DO NOT come here if you care about your car. My car mirror broke off after contact with the spinner and when I submitted a damage claim they immediately denied it. They claim hundreds of cars have came through and never had this incident, they also stated there was previous damage but there in fact wasn't. I literally heard the loud crack moments after the spinner hit my mirror and broke it off. I'm extremely disappointed in this company and would not recommend. Depends entirely upon location. The esplanade location is great. The Forest Ave location is Fxxxing HORRIBLE!! And for numerous, easily verifiable reasons. The staff are completely unprofessional and rude. It is like they have no management whatsoever. They're is a line going out of the driveway CONSTANTLY! This car wash damaged the paint on the back of my new truck. I filed a claim thinking they would stand good for the damage. After checking their cameras footage, They stated that there was no damage previous to going into the car wash and they saw no damage when I came out of the car wash. I parked and vacuumed my truck and saw the damage on the back. I know they have footage of that as well. Long story short do not use this car wash. It will damage your vehicle at some point and they will not stand good to correct the problem they created. This company Cannot be trusted! I plan on pursuing this further through corporate and legal means if necessary. This car wash is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau!! Paid for the ultimate car wash. Noticed my windshield was dirty after leaving the place. Kept finding more dirty spots on the rest of my car. Called them to explain my car was still fairly dirty after the car wash and asked what they could do. I was told "Once you leave the premises, we can't do anything." I usually do not have any issues with this car wash because it's convenient and easy to use. However, today I got in the line that wasn't just an automatic that I slide my card through. There was just one vehicle ahead of me and the girl that works here was talking to the person and it was 15 minutes sitting behind this person with a line forming behind me and nobody seemed to care if they just ignored us and I at one point said we've been already waiting 10 minutes. When are we going to get to go through? Can't they move? And they said oh we'll be with you in a minute. Okay that minute didn't happen. It went longer and longer. And finally I was able to back up 2 ft and pull out and go around to automatic machine. I couldn't get the wash I wanted because I didn't get to talk to them about it. Not very happy. I took my car in to get washed, upon leaving I noticed I had scratches on my windshield. I called and talked to the manager. He told me to come in and file a claim, a week later my claim was denied, management called and said there was absolutely no way that there machines could not possibly scratch the window of my car. Well, it is possible for the spinners to pick up objects maybe from another car, get stuck in the spinners. All I know is I went in without scratches and I left with scratches. I asked the manager if I could have the number to there corporate office, he replied... There is no corporate number if I had any complaints I needed to email them. Surf thru Express Car Wash washes the car fairly well. I only have three small complaints. 1) The Blowers are mediocre at best. The Blowers do not dry my two vehicles that good. I have to hand dry, which I do not mind. 2) Also unlike Champion Car Wash in Visalia, which has Excellent Blowers and they also Hand Dry. 3) Champion Car Wash also Hand Cleans and Wipes the Rims and Tires. read more

Surf Thru recently eliminated the staff at the entrance to the car wash who did a preliminary scrub of hard to reach spots (i.e. side mirrors, a spot on my car that is constantly missed by the machines). Even though their customer support replies to other reviews say "our decision to eliminate preppers is based on extensive testing over two years at multiple sites, where vehicles have consistently emerged clean without any issues" - one can only assume it's a financially motivated staffing decision. Unfortunately without the human touch, my car washes have not been the same. I'm on the top tier plan, $40/mo, and that feels a pretty excessive now that the humans have been removed from the equation. If they cut out part of the service, they should have also cut out part of the price. read more

RIP OFF ALERT: Do NOT support this business. They could not locate my account so I opened another one. Come to find out I was being double charged for 2 months. It cost me an additional $34 to stop the auto payments. I went into the business 3 times, I called the alleged customer service representative (Dana) 4 times, and I attempted to make contact twice on their website. NO ONE got back to me. I filed with the BBB but it wasn't enough out of pocket money for them to pursue the case. I also contacted the Attorney General but got no response. This used to be a good value, however, they have cut their "hand" washing portion of the wash in half so now only half of your vehicle is washed at the start of the process. It makes more sense to raise the price instead of decreasing the expected service. I'm no longer satisfied with this business. read more

My boyfriend recommended I check out this place. After experiencing it for myself, I joked to him that he must hate me! I came out of the car wash with a still-dirty car. Several spots were missed; most notably, the bird poop on the hood. I briefly considered asking for a re-wash , but I noticed several scratches and scuffs on my car, and didn't even want to risk my car getting more damaged. Absolutely not worth the $13 I paid. Paying for a plan is your best bang for your buck, if you do ride sharing like I do. It's nice to pull up with a scan bar and get a car wash. I'm a do-it-yourself type of person, so I don't mind vacuuming my own car. That's this place, unless you pay extra for a team to clean I believe. They have vending machines with car cleaning supplies ranging from $1-5. Floor mat scrub machine stations, car vacuums, air compressor gun. Pretty standard. If you need to get back on the road with a nice looking car for Lyft or Uber, this is probably your best bet. The first month is discounted, then the second is full. I would cancel after the second month and keep renewing to get that half discount. read more

I just moved back into town. I was excited that Chico has a good car wash like in Phoenix, AZ. No!!!!! Your crew talks more than actually helping membership members who pay monthly to take care of their beautiful cars. I work on a farm and I sometimes drive on hwy 70 or 99 which always picks up bugs. I asked and even give your 2-3 crew helping with bug to tell them get what's on the grill. Nobody listens. I asked on the specific day can you really scrub the back window. No thew crew doesn't listen or can't hear and if you can't hear say something, I don't pay $30 monthly to have service I requested be half assed. I wish the men spent more time and care like the girls do who check in the cars. read more

I have had the ultimate membership for about 2 years now. They have always offered a dash wipe, garbage bag and a deodorizer stick. I usually don't take any of that, but today I wanted a deodorizer stick. The girl said they are 2 for a $1.00. I said since when? She said since they opened...uh NO! I said my husband just opened his own account last week and asked for one and they gave it to him. She said that must have been a mistake. She held my card and pretended to be looking at her computer and I finally had to ask her for my card back. She gave it to me without a receipt or anything else. Usually the people that work here are very polite, but she was a BITCH. My daughter was with me and said that this was the only one in Chico that charges for the deodorizer sticks and that the one in Red Bluff doesn't either. 6/20/21 3:30PM crew takes no pride In any of their work. True meaning of " a job is a job" sucks that I had to waste 18$ on this. I actually had to re wipe my entire car twice. Might as well have washed my entire car myself with the amount of effort I put into this. There was so much that had to be done I wish I took pictures of each thing. So much bird poop was left on my car and I know if they had put the slightest amount of effort in it would have came out seeing that I lightly went over the surface with a towelette. I would have given zero stars, but apparently you have to give at least 1 to be able to leave a review. I would also rate this as Horrible, instead of Not good. This is the second time I have used this car wash and the second time I have been extremely disappointed. The first time I used their $14 wash, my car came out almost as dirty as it was when it went in. The hood, the roof, the back end, all had dirt and it appeared the brushes and water never touched the car. This time I took their $18 wash. The hood and roof of the car might as well stayed home because it certainly didn't get washed. I won't waste my money at either of their locations again. I have had a contract with them since they opened. I would get 5 washes a month for $30. they use to have 2 people do a prelim wash/scrub then run it thru the system. Now they have one person that just ensures you get on track and no scrubbing. I have a cross bar on my little Santa Cruz and I have had to sign a contract saying it is ok to run thru. Now they will not use the top rollers and the first set of side rollers as they have changed their policy. The car does not come out clean on the top, the hood or the sides now. Just washed the tailgate at home! After 2 attempts at the wash I informed the attendant that the wash was continuing to miss the back of my truck. She offered a 3rd try but informed me that they can no longer scrub a vehicle due to mgmt calculated cost control. 3rd try no different. I never thought I'd write a review for a car wash, but I honestly love this place! My husband and I share a membership and wash our cars regularly, then zip around to use the air and vacuum area. Staff is friendly, location is ideal, and there is plenty of room to open my doors, vacuum, throw away trash and recyclables. The membership is beyond affordable. If you break down the math you actually save money as opposed to going to a competitor, buying individual washes, etc. I see a lot of negative reviews about cars not being clean enough-FYI you can let a staff member know and they'll allow you to go through the wash again...otherwise if you are still not satisfied you might just want to hand wash your car yourself.
