I first came to her office with a dental emergency (chipped tooth) and she was able to get me in that day because they had a cancellation. Maria, the office gal, pretty much immediately respond to my message whereas other offices didn't get back to me for days. Dr. Bobeva and Ting, her technician, made sure I was completely numb and pain free before starting the procedure by both checking with me verbally and giving me a hand signal to use if it started to hurt. I've since been back for a cleaning and some long put off routine dental care and I've continued to be impressed by their gentleness and care. Part of their intake process is to ask if you have dental anxiety which makes it easier to communicate about your issues. They even offered some ideas about things things they could do to help me feel better through the process. Would highly recommend this practice whether you have dental anxiety or not!

At my last appointment, I scheduled a teeth cleaning, but instead of cleaning my teeth, she kept poking at my gums. My gums have been hurting and bleeding ever since the visit. I'm also not sure whether my insurance was even billed for the cleaning appointment, since my teeth were never actually cleaned. In addition, the equipment at the clinic feels very outdated. I think she is ready to retired and close the clinic. There are many great dentists in my area, so I've decided to look elsewhere for my dental care.

Their office found several cavities over the few years I went in. Not one am I happy with. One I had them redo because it had a gap/hook in between molars that was catching food and would cut my tongue if I tried to poke at it. The redo still has the same issue but now other dentists are hesitant to touch it because they ground the tooth so far down towards the nerve I'll probably need a root canal and crown. The office was clean, but usually felt rushed. Fancy machines packed in with everyone buzzing around and not necessarily listening to you. I've needed four spots fixed from their work by my current dentist. And I honestly am not sure some of it was needed to begin with. They were big on pushing that I have insurance. Wanted to remove old fillings that have no problems while not doing a proficient job on the ones they did. Very negative experience. Wish I hadn't gone for convenience and coverage - it's not like I'll get to start from square one at any future dentist. I will always be missing extra tooth in several spots than was necessary. But hey. They got paid.

So I went to a second dentist, and he claimed I had two or three cavities. To be safe, I decided to seek a third opinion. Sure enough, Dr. Malyon's diagnosis matched with the second dentist's diagnosis. Malyon said I have two cavities that need filling (one of my cavities was already filled by the second dentist, I'm coming back for the other two later). So overall, it seems like Malyon and my second dentist are both accurate and honest dentists. They don't try to bill unnecessary work and remove natural teeth material when it's not necessary. The first dentist was definitely extremely aggressive on the other hand, potentially even just interested in making money. I'm going to stick with the second dentist since I already had one filling done by him, if I came to Malyon first I would have chosen to stay with his office. Both of these two dentists were great. Malyon's office isn't anything fancy, it's simple and basic, but I'd rather choose a dentist who is experienced and cares about your best interests rather than an office that tries to impress you with glamorous massage chairs and a fancy office. He said my root canal was done so badly that it was a gamble to try a second one on this tooth and may be best to have it pulled out and referred me back to my existing dentist for an extraction. Years of pain, stress and money all because of this one bad dentist.
