I love how they are open early enough to stop by on my way to school unlike many other "sit-down" restaurants local. A Cicero institution. Erika's is everything you could want and more out of a small town diner. The place gives you a warm, cozy feeling...it's very personal. The service is (usually) quite friendly. The food is good for a place like this...I've never really had anything here that was disappointing. It should be noted that this is a small town diner, not a fancy top quality restaurant (10 West down the street offers this experience), and thus the food is more traditional and on a lower level. However, when you're in the mood for this kind of thing, Erika's hits the ticket every time. Things I suggest getting: Burgers...pretty tasty, very large. Tenderloins Breaded chicken sandwich...a little greasy, but good Mozzarella sticks...great appetizer Whatever's on special. Chicken and noodles, fried chicken...just go for it Pancakes! 12/28/17 Breakfast, brought wife, children, grand children, son in law. We were greeted warmly, seated immediately by a very cordial nice waitress. Got menus, coffee and tea right away and got our orders in. Waitress very smart! she got my 14 month old grand daughters food out fast and that kept her quiet and happy. ME TOO! Our orders were varied and all different and ALL the food came out to us piping hot and at exactly the same time! Great cooks in that kitchen! Portions were very ample and seasoned properly, VERY GOOD FOOD! This all happened even though the place was very busy, THAT IS IMPRESSIVE! All their menus Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are what the Dr. ordered for a great home town meal. I'm a retired Corp Chef, I do not pass out good reviews undeserved, read my others, you will see. Yum! Great Home Cooking that I didn't have to do! My mom and I stopped in for a late lunch and will be back! She had an authentic beef manhattan made with real roast beef and homemade gravy. Her Senior portion was enough for two meals! We shared fried biscuits and apple butter. Wow! We will be having these again. I had a freshly pounded and breaded tenderloin sandwich that was delicious. The menu had a lot of variety, and our waitress Michelle was awesome.; good timing, helpful and excellent. Thanks! Cute little place that we stopped into on a whim after some impromptu yard sale-ing up in Noblesville. When we walked into the small vestibule between the front door and the door to the restaurant, we ran into a clump of people waiting. They filled us in on how the seating works -- you wait in said vestibule until a table opens up, then the next group in line seats themselves. The rest of the experience is the usual and then you pay your bill at the cash register at the end of the meal. I was thinking of French toast initially, but opted for the biscuits and gravy. I have a hard time passing that up when I see it on a menu. The nice thing about Erika's is they give you the option for a full, half, or quarter order. I ordered the half, but it was a huge portion, so I wonder what the full would have been. I would have definitely been able to skate by with a quarter portion, especially since I love to pair my biscuits and gravy with an egg, over easy. Our meals came out quickly and were hot. I only wish the sausage gravy had more chunks of meat, but that's just a style preference. Overall, it tasted great and I pretty much inhaled it. One other thing, it gets a little annoying to be seated at the two-top directly in front of the door. Lots of in and out and the door slams every time someone comes or goes. I definitely noticed when a nice, older gentleman took a minute to hold the door as it closed, because it was such a nice break from the constant slamming. I would think it would be really drafty there in the winter as well, but perhaps they have a system to handle that when it comes. Overall a positive experience. I don't know that I'd make a special trip back up to Cicero just to breakfast there, but I wouldn't hesitate to stop back in if I were in town. read more

The Cicero Coffee shop was closed for the holiday this am, so we went to Erika's for breakfast for a change. Great job Erika. Hash Browns were cooked as requested (extra crispy, not burnt). Corn beef hash was flavorful with a nice crust. Over medium, again, perfectly cooked. Raisin toast was excellent. My wife had a Greek Omelette and it was fantastic, Perfectly cooked. You moved up the list of dining options for us in the future. By the way, their coffee was excellent this morning. Very satisfying for a coffee snob like me! Well done Erika! read more

Down home comfort food cookin' :) The hubs and I just recently moved to Cicero so of course I'm going to be on the prowl for new places to try! On moving weekend when you have nothing in your fridge, you tend to venture out in search of a place with some good eats. We stumbled upon Erika's Place and decided to try it out. Upon entering, it's a tight fit, but it gives you that "come on into our kitchen" feel. We sat down and immediately ordered coffee - I must admit, when you move, you are exhausted, on the brink of starvation, and in need of major sustenance...Erika's gave us just that. I loved how their coffee was served in bigger mugs rather than the tiny cafe cups you usually get. Our waitress was nice, attentive. I ordered off of their Create-Your-Own menu because I like to be difficult ;) I went with the 3-egg scrambled option with cheese and added hash browns and toast. The hubby ordered biscuits and gravy along with some french toast - both he said were delicious! We were completely satisfied at the end of the meal and ready to continue tackling our move. A few things to note: -be sure to get here early enough, they tend to run out of food -the tables are close together, so expect to overhear your neighbor's convo -it's not very clear if you're a first-timer, but you pay near the kitchen in the back All in all, a cute place that we'll try again :) read more

Stopped in the other night with friends. We had actually tried to go to a restaurant right down the street but there was a 45 minute wait and I wanted food NOW! My fiancé has been for breakfast a number of times, but I had never joined her. This place is very small-town mom and pop, cheap and quick food. After going over the menu I ordered a bowl of Clam Chowder, the soup of the day, and decided to go with their chicken fried chicken, two heavily breaded chicken breasts deep fried and smothered with a white gravy. Served with your choice of two eggs, toast, and hash browns. Pretty self explanatory, and pretty much what you'd expect. The chicken was good, but the gravy was harshly under seasoned. Clam chowder also under seasoned, but good nonetheless. Nothing special here, but worth stopping in every once in awhile for a good quick meal with a feeling of home. read more

Went here with my parents, and it is a great little place for homestyle cooking. We ordered one of their signature dishes - the Pork Tenderloin - all around. Huge and yummy. Can get it with whatever you want on it, though it comes plain if you don't ask for something. I had just a little mayo and catsup, and it worked out just fine. Kids meal had generous portion of chicken strips and fries. Great for families and kids. With their small dining room, they can be very crowded quickly, so you may/may not get in. My husband and I live right down the street from Erikas and we always have great service and food. There isn't a lot of space in the restaurant but we've never had a problem waiting. Usually people are in and out! We love the menu! Only street parking so if your driving it might be a little hard to park. But that's okay! The food and service will make up for it read more

Great restaurant! Me and my wife try to go once a week for breakfast. The staff have always been great. I've had a few run ins with rude customers and I really wouldn't recommend trying to go with a large party simply because it's small and you leave alot of people standing outside waiting for a table. This place is what a small town diner is all about. The food is superb. I especially like the meat lover's omlette with crispy hash browns (served anytime). They also have one of the best breaded tenderloins in Indiana. Hoosiers know good tenderloins, and don't give out praise unless it is worthly.
