Good, but not great. Sunny Day Cafe is tucked away in a small space that's not very visible in Hamilton Town Center. I ordered a carne asada skillet (ribeye steak, two eggs, hash browns, habanero cheese, onions, jalapenos, sliced avocado) at $17. A Starry fountain drink was almost $4 (yikes). The meal was good, but I got this skillet because I thought the ribeye steak would be excellent....The ribeye steak was just so-so. Plus, the skillet could have used more cheese. If I were to order again, I would order a skillet with sausage or chorizo instead of steak. The server recommended their breakfast burrito and breakfast tacos. We were seated and served quicker than we expected based on how busy it was and the servers were all very sweet. The breakfast burrito could be shared between 2 people if they aren't that hungry since it was STUFFED full. It was really tasty with the salsa verde too. My husband and I were so excited to see a Sunny Day Cafe open up a few minutes from our house because we love the Carmel location! This location is open and airy in the outdoor mall area of HTC. Not a large area inside, but a lot of seats. We visited on Christmas Eve morning for breakfast and were sat as soon as we entered. Our waiter was very nice and food came quickly. We ordered a hot chocolate, Tres leches pancakes, and the breakfast tacos with bacon - everything was hot and tasty! The pancakes were perfectly fluffy and didn't need syrup at all with the Tres leches on the top. The breakfast tacos had great tortillas and were very filling. I don't venture to Hamilton town center but I was surprised at how cute this area is and so much parking. This cafe was busy at 10 am on a Sunday. We had a 15 min wait but thankfully it went by fast. Our server was fantastic and he was quick with everything. The food was delicious. My bacon could've been cooked longer, picky when it comes to the crispiness, especially Canadian bacon (thick). They have the little coffee creamer flavors and or regular ok the table for you to go with your coffee with unlimited refills. Everyone there was so nice. They also have a little play area right outside which is great while you wait or for after you eat. Located right in the center of the shopping center. We're so happy this location opened in Hamilton Town Center because it's so much closer to us! We always loved going to Carmel, but we're happy to report that this location doesn't lack any amazing flavor or high quality service! We were seated quickly and comfortably. The space is very comfortable and located in right in the middle of the mall area near the parking lot with easy access. Very comfortable seating. Obviously it goes without saying the food is always delicious! We got the berry pancakes and breakfast tacos which were new for us but may become a regular thing! I took my granddaughters in for breakfast to celebrate the start of school. Our server was very nice and gave some good suggestions. I had the basic two egg breakfast. Hash browns were great and eggs a perfect over easy. The girls had French toast and the kids breakfast. They loved their meals. This is a great location and solid food. As this was our first visit, we appreciated her candor in making recommendations. Tami has the Egg White Vegie Omelette with fruit and toast - very satisfying. I'm a stickler for flavor & quality. As it was noon, I was stuck between the Cobb salad with Chicken and the House made Corned Beef Hash with Eggs & Toast. The hash won out on the recommendation and it was superb. I'm a regular at Hamilton town center, and I am so excited that we finally have a breakfast/brunch restaurant here now! The storefront is a little small, but the interior designers really maximized the space and made the inside feel cozy and intimate, but not cramped. I love the flower decorations on the ceiling and above the tables, and the outdoor patio with lots of extra seating! The menu is pretty standard brunch/breakfast items, along with a few Mexican-inspired dishes. To be completely transparent, the prices are pretty steep compared to the other breakfast restaurants with similar offerings in the area, and every topping/mix-in is extra, even cheese for an omelette! But I honestly believe that Sunny Day Cafe is worth the price--especially with the portion sizes and the high quality and care they put into their food. Now let's get into the whole reason why you're reading this review: the food! If you've read my other reviews, it is probably no surprise to you that I ordered chocolate chip pancakes. On the menu, it lists chocolate chips as a topping for $1.55 extra, and they mean just that. There were a lot of chocolate chips on the top however, chocolate chips were not baked into the pancakes like they normally are. It was still very delicious and a perfect amount of chocolate. my friend ordered the breakfast tacos and every taco came with a whole slice of avocado, meat, eggs, hash browns, cheese, tomatoes, and tomatillo sauce. She does not eat red meat, so the waitress kindly made a substitution for grilled chicken on her tacos. We really appreciated the attention to detail in the commitment to adjusting to dietary restrictions at this restaurant. We both cleaned our plates and were very impressed and satisfied with our meals! I can't wait for my next morning shopping trip at HTC because I know it will end with brunch at Sunny Day Cafe! read more

DELICIOUS food. My husband and I both got the Huevos Rancheros and I was very impressed with how fresh the tortillas tasted. The avocado was perfectly ripe and our eggs exactly as ordered. The kids had the pancakes and mini waffles. The standard pancake order was MASSIVE and the kids plate was a great deal. The bacon was thick and not like standard diner fare. None of us could finish our food and we waddled happily out to the car with full bellies. The service was also top notch, too. Multiple people came to help us out and to keep our drinks filled. What a nice surprise to find Sunny Day Cafe for brunch! The service was attentive and friendly from start to finish. My waitress recommended the sour dough toast and diced potatoes to accompany my veggie omelette and I was not disappointed. The diced potatoes were hot and crispy on the outside - seasoned nicely.
