And then they kept happening, getting larger and spreading throughout the entirety of the house, and we could no longer open the doors in the basement and 1st floor on the south side of the house. Alarmed, I called a civil engineer and had an assessment done. They ascertained our house was sinking, particularly in one corner, and recommended ~30 push piers around the perimeter and up the centerline of the house... for over $100k. I literally laughed at him and asked him who he thought I was that he thought I could afford that. I called a few other places and got questionable assessments, and then I spoke with Yos from DMV. What a breath of fresh air. He was personable and honest. He recommended we get a 3rd party civil engineer to produce a report with drawings that I could use for any foundation company - even if I didn't go with DMV. We (finally, after a loooong delay on the civil engineer's part) got the report and drawings, and Yos and his team began work in early January to install ~10 helical piers on the sinking corner of the house. It was a pretty invasive project, but his team was fantastic. Fast forward 5 months and the cracks have stopped appearing, with a number of them even closing. We are very satisfied with the work DMV did for us, and are particularly pleased with their honesty. Where one company tried to sell us an overkill solution for six figures, Yos was upfront and told us what we really need - to address that affected area and revisit others if they end up being an issue - for roughly a quarter of the other company's price. That sort of honesty and pricing earns a permanent spot in my trusted contractor list.

From the initial phone call with Logan, to the consultation with Yos, they listened to our concerns/requests & communicated things clearly. Yos was punctual, friendly, and efficient in his evaluation. Five stars!

I'm leaving this review to share a balanced but honest account of my experience. While the end…read moreresult of the project was acceptable, the process was far more complicated and frustrating than it needed to be. The sales interaction set the tone with high‑pressure tactics, including statements like "this price is only available today." We moved forward anyway because we knew we wanted the work done. When I later asked to adjust the scope, the salesperson resisted for nearly ten minutes before agreeing to send a revised contract. The first crew delivered solid work on the drain line and concrete, but the vapor barrier installation was sloppy--uneven trimming, gaps, and inconsistent application. They also removed a board supporting the incoming water line without explanation, leaving it hanging from a wire and damaging the clamp. Their initial attempt to "fix" it involved taping the board to a pipe, which was not a proper or safe solution. The sump pump outlet was also installed in a way that caused the discharge pipe to partially block it, putting pressure on the plug. Communication was another major issue. I was never given a dedicated point of contact. I had to reach out to the salesperson again just to report problems. He forwarded my concerns to the office, and I was eventually contacted by Christal. She was professional and genuinely helpful, but her phone number repeatedly showed as disconnected, and only some text messages went through. I had to call the main line each time and ask to be routed to her. A week later, two crews returned and corrected the vapor barrier, repaired the board, and moved the outlet so it was no longer obstructed. The final work met expectations, but the overall experience involved unnecessary sales pressure, communication challenges, and multiple days off work for corrections and inspections.

The salesman invited himself inside to go over a lengthy PowerPoint presentation, asked if my husband was home so I could run things by him (because we all know women can't make decisions), and when we finally got the estimate, we were pressured to make a decision on the spot for the "best deal." Honestly, if he hadn't explained so much, we might considered signing but he talked us out of the job by saying how much could go wrong.

Working with NV Waterproofing was a disappointment from start to finish, and I wish I'd trusted my…read moreinstinct multiple times throughout the process when the red flags popped up. The initial sales person was a classic over-seller and promised the world while simultaneously doing a very surface-level review of the situation, ultimately concluding that we were in need of an indoor water mitigation system and sump pump. The sales process was tortured, over-the-top, and ended with the classic "same-day-only discount" proposal (red flag number 1). The scheduling process and lead-up to the project was radio-silent with no preparation on what to do or what to expect from the project manager or the sales person until I reached out proactively. I had to call the morning the project was set to begin to even know if they were coming or not (red flag number 2). The project itself eventually began and within less than an hour it became obvious the source of the leak was in fact a burst pipe and not ground water coming in through the basement. I called the office and put a stop order on the work at which point they immediately became very cagey about what options were available to me and from this point on once again went radio silent (red flag number 3). Upon reaching out to the office multiple times (via both email and phone) to address the issue and seek at least a partial refund of our deposit for the issue, they took 3+ days to even respond, and when they did, claimed that despite obvious pictures pointing to the pipe being the issue, it could have been ground water at the same time and they were unable to provide any refund of any kind (red flag number 4). I get that I signed a contract. I get that they planned and scheduled the work. I also now have learned an expensive lesson about trusting my gut and being more proactive about my concerns. But they're supposed to be the experts! And the fact that they took absolutely no responsibility for having done a poor assessment of the situation up-front and then pretended like they were actually still right about it was disappointing and embarrassing. I can't in good faith recommend working with this company to anyone.

However... we were led along by 58 for 4 months and told they would solve a foundation issue under an addition to our house built in 1982. The individual who came to our house seemed highly knowledgable and was confident that he knew the problem - he said that all other quotes we received were rubbish and didn't understand the issue. So... fast forward 4 months after a hassle of getting the right information to them for permits (seemed excessively long time, but ok, it's government). People who we've never talked to or worked with from 58 show up to do the job. They literally ask us, "what is the problem? what do we need to do?" First red flag. So we show them the problem that 58 has already done all the specs for. An hour later we get a knock and they call us to observe the problem, saying they cannot do the work because of the structure. They dug up a bunch of stuff and littered it around our yard (which, they said would probably happen but more frustrating that these workers never came back). We have to call 58 to figure out the problem (second red flag) and the person brushes it off like yeah already on it (ok then tell us you're already on it?). We continue to ask them for info for another month and it's well into winter now. We wanted to issue solved in the summer before the snow came. He finally gets back to us and says that they can't do the job and "are very sorry". That was it. We asked for the engineering plans to try and find out what the problem was. Never got those. We were never given compensation for them destroying our yard and not finishing the job. The best thing that happened is we got our deposit back. I'm sure everyone's experience is different, but I've never had a worse experience with someone providing a service. I'm a pretty chill person. But I'm still boiling about this a couple months later, so felt the need to write a stern review.

We had some drainage/waterproofing issues that needed addressed, and when I found out the scope of their skills, we also hired them for a laundry list of things I had on my wish list since moving in a few years ago. These folks did it all for us! For starters, they repaired a brick wall in our front yard, installed a new sump pump drain pipe and exit, re-worked some existing exterior waterproofing that had been done sloppily in the past, and added a new concrete pad and drain by our back door. They even helped us track down an underground gutter leak and replaced the broken pipe. The showpiece job, however, is the stunning stone retaining wall, that they meticulously built by hand, across the back yard along with the new cement parking pad and stamped concrete border tapering it to our existing drive. The pictures don't do it justice (attached is a "before" photo for reference). Everything was done with great care and precision, using high-quality materials. The owner of the company, Deborah, was a gem to work with. She is super-passionate about the environment and the quality of work her company does. We worked with Gerardo and he was also fantastic. He had great ideas and suggestions in terms of practicality and design. He was also flexible with a few adjustments along the way. Antonio found that one of our sump pumps was broken, resulting in some moisture build up, and the associated mold. Contrast that with two other estimates we had obtained (before we remembered the warranty) that didn't find the faulty sump pump, and wanted to replace drains and do major mold remediation for thousands more dollars, rather than just treating the moldy area. To top that off, I called on a Friday, they were able to come by and assess the situation the same day, and do the work the following Monday! No waiting!
