Talked to someone during the week on doing some trailer tires for me. I specified the exact tires I was providing to do the job. They set up the appointment. I pull the trailer down there and drop it off. Get a call an hour and half later saying they can't do the job because their equipment wasn't capable. Ryan the owner called me back within the next half hour saying he personally will take the wheels off and bring them to a competitor that has the right machine and eat the cost. Shout out to Ernie's Auto for getting my car done on time and within budget! fuel pump failed on my way home from work and didn't have it towed to Ernie's (bad decision) but to Firestone because they said they could handle it sooner. Two days later, Firestone threw up their hands and said it was nothing they could deal with, so had to have it re-towed to Ernie's (note to self: always go to Ernie's first). It's DONE! Simply a fuel pump, a bit pricey, but it's done and we really needed the car this week. read more

2 weeks ago Ernie's Auto did an oil change on our car. 10 days after the oil change our car's oil light came on and suddenly stopped working (we had never had problems with our car until now). We called Ernie's and they picked us up, towed our car, and paid for a rental car. Not only did Ernie's fix our car's engine (defective oil filter caused our engine to overheat), but they even replaced a broken door handle (no charge). Ernie's didn't charge us a penny and even guaranteed our car for another 100K miles. I highly recommend Ernie's Auto. They will take care of you. read more

First time customer to Ernie's Auto Center. Last time too. Went in on Friday afternoon with an appointment for a SMOG TEST. Waited close to 2.5 hours for the service manager to advise me my car had 'failed to communicate' and unfortunately it failed the smog test. Charged me for the smog test anyhow and said a retest would be free!!! Called the last place my car had been tested and passed without a problem - Stanford Auto in Santa Cruz - spoke with Jennifer Weaver the owner - who told me to bring in my paper work from Ernie's and they could see what they could do. Well, it passed without a problem, communication and all. I was out of there in 25 minutes. Went back to Ernie's and told them it passed. They didn't believe it. Had to check my car once again. This time it communicated!! Learned my lesson. I'm going to Stanford Auto in Santa Cruz next time I need a smog certification. Sorry Ernie. read more

SO I am new to Felton and thought I would try my new local auto business, Let me tell you they suck!! Ernies in Felton poor. Customer service is poooor. They ripped me off on auto repair, there prices for parts are outrageous and most of the employees are rude and unhelpful. All around poor business, watch out!! Compare prices to Kregers at Scott's Valley just to see what I'm talking about. I went to Ernie's Auto to have my brake pads replaced. I was giving the car to my son and I wanted to take care of anything that needed to be fixed. The dealership where I bought the car had inspected the pads and told me they were 75% gone and would need replacement soon. I walked into Ernie's and told them what I wanted. I authorized them to do the work and told them that they didn't have to call me after they inspected the brakes; I wanted them fixed. That afternoon I got a call from Chris at Ernie's. He told me they inspected the brakes and on a scale of 1 - 10 (10 being new) the brakes were a 9 and didn't need to be replaced. The folks at Ernie's could have simply done what I asked and charged me for new brake pads. Instead, they were HONEST!!! Unfortunately, that isn't something the auto repair industry isn't known for; especially when the customer is a female. It is sad that the dealership followed type. Ernie's has earned me as a repeat customer. read more

This is the only auto shop in town that will return your car in worse condition than when you brought it too them. On multiple occasions I have been very displeased with their business. I would never recommend Ernies auto service to ANYONE. Waste of time, waste of money, end of story. I would however recommend their parts department if you need something to do it yourself, but never let them work on your vehicle. read more

WARNING!!! STAY AWAY FROM ERNIE'S AUTO REPAIR. Took my Nissan pickup truck in after I heard scraping sounds and saw smoke coming from my front drivers side wheel. They thought it might be the bearings so they inspected it and gave me a quote. They quoted me for replacing the bearings, installing a new fan clutch (they said I needed one), a new fan (I knew it was cracked) along with new belts and a break cleaning. Right away I had a bad feeling...always trust your instincts (girls)! I had dropped off the truck at noon and they said they would call me, I assumed the same day. Before I dropped it off they said their schedule was open and they were not too busy. They never bothered to let me know they were keeping the car overnight...I found out when I called them around 5:00PM. The guy I talked to was a bit defensive. In the end I decided to take my car to a different shop I had researched online, and come to find out after the new repair shop did their own inspection, MY WHEEL BEARINGS DID NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED AND I DID NOT NEED A NEW FAN CLUTCH! All I needed was a break adjustment and a new fan. Go figure! Advice for women: Don't go into a repair shop before researching them online and please take time to educate yourself on what the problem could be by asking experienced friends, googling your vehicles symptoms and be sure to ask to see your vehicles "damaged" parts before you give permission for repair. They could have ripped me off for hundreds of dollars...NOT ME, NOT MY TRUCK, NOT TODAY ERNIE'S. As another reviewer wrote "ERNIE'S SUCKS." I have to agree. read more
