This is a great spot I was glad to discover as it was new to me along with also being near a spot I used to work at so I wish I would have known about it sooner. A husband and wife own and run this place and they are some really nice folks. They have a nice rotation of daily specials during the week and it is a pleasant place to enjoy a meal. I have only managed one visit so far to sample their burger and some fantastic onion rings but I still really want to try their daily specials which look fantastic. I am really craving their pot roast and I'm looking forward to sampling that as soon as possible. My video review of Ernie's Cafe is here: https://youtu.be/x00w_BiEOxk

As someone who enjoys giving small businesses/ restaurants a try, I have to say this place was an absolute disappointment. My daughter was disappointed as well. There's quite a few things I could mention but the key things for me were the tiny portions, the pitiful "salad" with horrible Ranch dressing, & the completely unseasoned "platter" that I ordered. I paid $14 for 5 bland shrimp & 1 piece of fish. I did order gumbo ($6 for a very small cup) & it was actually pretty good. Not to mention, the service was moderate, considering you have to fix your own drink. The worst $22+ I've ever spent. I left still hungry.

Got the Fried Pickles today, they were delicious, it was just what I was in the mood for

Great new CB place on 4th Street. Home cooking a very good price. Worth the visit. I had the roast beef Pinot and ate on it for 2 days.

Still a New Orleans Gem - Visitor since 2018!…read more I'm updating my review as of April 2026 because it's important for visitors to know that The Vintage has absolutely "still got it." My last review was in 2020, and I'm happy to report that the quality and atmosphere remain top notch. Whether you are looking for a morning pick up or an evening wind-down, this spot covers all the bases. Their beignets and coffee are a classic must have, and I can personally vouch for their Americano. It is consistently well made and delicious. They also have a great selection of beer and cocktails if you're looking for something a bit stronger. What really sets this place apart, though, is the hospitality. We have always had great interactions with the staff, but a special shout out goes to Jimmy, whom we met this past week. He was incredibly kind and hospitable, truly making us feel right at home. Jimmy if you are reading this, THANK YOU!! If you want a spot that feels authentic, welcoming, and consistently excellent, put The Vintage at the top of your list!

The menu has many choices. I ordered the firecracker shrimp with side arugula salad. The shrimp was yummy the salad too but expected more on the salad maybe cucumber or tomatoes over all for just having cheese on Arugula with dressing was ok. I paired it with the shrimp and it was tasty! According to the hop on/off bus the beignets & champagne are the hit at this cafe. The bartender made a wonderful cocktail with champagne & it was delicious! The spot is dog friendly & in a cute little restaurant/bar row & shops area.

There is no reason not to come here and make this place popular. I don't think many people know about it. I have been about three times and there are maybe 2 or 3 other people inside. YOU NEED TO CHECK THEM OUT! They have regular coffee too. But they do not have a huge food list, it is mainly beignets - which are delicious and they make fun shapes out them to be festive - like stars for example. But who needs food, when you have alcohol coffee?! The staff are always kind and helpful. If you want to change anything up, they are more than happy to. And they make the presentation just beautiful as well. It is a great place for pre gaming prior to a meal or post gaming after a meal. They are connected to 4141 and it can be a little confusing trying to find the entrance. The bathrooms are clean, there is a fun two seater table that has like a pac man game or something similar, and there are some leather chairs and couches to sit on. This place is great and you know I will be back!

Love it…read more This is an excellent spot for two awesome things - cafe au laits of multiple kinds (my favorite coffee drink!) and beignets, also with multiple options. I will have to come back and try the spiked cafe au lait, since I was alcoholed-out at the time... They also have coffee with chicory. Tastefully decorated, cozy interior. A chill place to hang out with friends or kids, study, type, read, and enjoy delicious eating and drinking. Simple pricing - $3/4/5. Plenty of places to charge devices. Fancy restrooms. Friendly staff working really hard. We went back to order seconds and she said it happens a lot. Five stars all around. I would be a regular if I lived in the neighborhood.

If you have time for just one coffee shop in New Orleans while strolling through the Garden…read moreDistrict or Uptown, make it this one. The coffee house is the perfect match of New Orleans aesthetics and flavors. Starting with the architecture, it's housed in one of the many ornate double shotgun homes that line Magazine street. It leans into the historic aesthetic, with chandeliers, brick fireplaces, deep colors, and lots of hard wood, appearing like a quiet study or library. Be forewarned, this place can get rather busy, mostly with students studying and working. I found everyone to be respectful of the quietness of the space. On a visit at 2:00pm every interior table was full (approximately 25 tables). Hot Tip: There is a door leading to the back that states "espresso garden". We landed there, where there were 6 additional seating tables outside in a very nice space. The coffee offerings were excellent and curated. Respectful to New Orleans they use chicory in their coffee ; I am happy to have this familiar flavor but some may find it strong or bitter. I got the Tiramisu Cold Brew and the cream cut the bitterness significantly. I also ordered a savory pastry (the shroom boom) which had a crispy, flaky crust and tasted fresh. There are other coffee shops in the area; most feel very standard or corporate and don't have the richness that this location offers.

I had an awesome time sitting outside - they had both a front patio and a small seating area in the back of the shop. The furniture was pretty nice and comfortable. The interior had a great vibe too - I loved the overall layout and decoration. The coffee was pretty good. It was a little bit expensive, but it was pretty darn good. I got a cappuccino, it had nice rich flavor without being too intense. Service was good, it took a little bit to get our coffee, but was happy to sit outside while we waited. It was a little busy when I went, but not too bad for a weekend. Definitely would recommend & will be back

Five solid stars! Ethiopian cuisine is best enjoyed family style. My wife and I each ordered an entree (hers was fish based; mine was chicken), and each of our entrees came with tasty sides. The service was polite and prompt, and we especially enjoyed the sign that said, "when you support a small local business, you support a big dream." So true!

I would say the price points are great. Our total came out to 312.30 including tip for 11 entrees, six hot beverages, and one appetizer. The food was well seasoned and the portion sizes were decent. We all got an ample amount of injera to accompany our food. The food did take a while to come out, but there were so many of us, and it's a small restaurant with a small staff. The owner took our order, prepared the food, and closed us out. I thought it was interesting that we weren't asked what sides we wanted. Everyone ended up with something different. That made it fun!
