The absolute best coffee shop on Magazine street. They put so much love and care into making their matcha by sifting it and then actually whisking it with hot water and a bamboo whisk. The strawberry fields matcha is so incredibly delicious and the mocha latte with blackberry cold foam was also a great flavor combo. Extremely sweet staff and adorable shop. I went here three times while staying on Magazine street. Everything was delicious!

We came in on a chill Saturday, not too busy and didn't wait too long for them to take my order. We ordered a Regular matcha latte and Strawberry fields drink. While waiting for the drinks to be made, we visited and strolled around the shop next door with unique items, which was quite nice to have! The drinks itself were just alright. If you're someone who likes ceremonial grade matcha with very minimal, almost to no sweetener, this is the right place for you. My matcha latte was quite flavorless, which was surprisingly considering how many people i've heard say that this was the best in town. The Strawberry fields drink however was quite tasty! The cold foam was honestly the best part of the drink and tasted like strawberry milk and the purée in addition was great, but again quite lackluster in the flavor department. Also, I was not pleased with the cashier/ worker who took my order. She did not initiate conversation when it was my turn to place an order. It honestly felt very awkward and not welcoming. Not sure if I would come again :/

This was my first time trying Lower Coast and I will definitely be returning. The peppermint mocha latte was so good! They also have 1% milk which is hard to find at coffee shops. The pastries were also delicious and are made by a local friend to the business who specializes in French pastry. The baristas were friendly and made our drinks very quickly. There's not a ton of seating inside by they do have a patio for milder and warmer months.

I believe this is an already established place but it was new to me. I'd come here again! I love the coffee shop aesthetic. It was filled with some greenery and had a simple little bar area. If I lived in this area I could see myself at this coffee shop every weekend. The matcha was surprisingly good although I wish I just got the normal one, the coconut added was a little too sweet. Workers were nice!

I got the honey pecan and it's flavorful with just the right ratio of sweet to savory. They also carry a wide array of tasteful souvenir type items, many of which seem handmade. It's hard to come in for just one thing if you're easily distracted like me. Employees are pretty chill too, and will give you honest recs of what's good. Would recommend, especially to tourists.

Such a cute and small place! I had their fallin for you banana bread matcha and it was DELICIOUS! I will say that there is not much of a matcha flavor but the drink is still very yummy! Had the matcha latte at Lower Coast Coffee and it was excellent. Smooth, vibrant matcha flavor with the perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess. You can tell they use quality matcha. Definitely one of the better matcha lattes I've had. Highly recommend.

On Magazine Street in New Orleans, I came across Lower Coast Coffee. Lower Coast Coffee and the handcrafted cutting board store, NOLA Boards share a space. The majority, of the space is NOLA Boards, there is a small counter dedicated to Lower Coast Coffee. There was a very free spirited man working as a barista. I got a Pistachio Latte with Chicory. This was very flavorful, very pistachio. Maybe it's the, chicory that made the flavor so prominent. There is nowhere to sit inside. There are two little tables and chairs outside. It would be nice if they could offer some indoor seating. Their coffee menu at Lower Coast Coffee is very broad and very flavorful.

Lower Coast Coffee completely won me over. I originally heard about it on TikTok, and somehow this place single-handedly turned me into a coffee drinker. The service was always great and super timely, even during the Mardi Gras rush. The staff kept things moving while still being friendly, which I really appreciated. The shop itself has such a cool aesthetic--clean, inviting, and just a vibe. It's the kind of place you actually want to hang out in. I love that they have their coffee available for purchase, plus really cute merch (still regret not grabbing a shirt). It feels like a brand you want to support. We got large Mardi Gras lattes and they literally tasted like king cake in a cup. Sweet, festive, and perfect. I loved every bit of it--and honestly, I went back multiple times during Mardi Gras. It was the only thing that got me going in the mornings. 10/10, will absolutely keep coming back. read more

Ordered a pistachio petals as a iced latte (instead of matcha) This was over $9. Zero flavor of pistachio, tasted like there was 1 shot of espresso with over a full cup of milk. The "cold foam" tasted like just heavy whipping cream. Extreme rip off. read more

I'm so late on posting this review... but here it is! Lower Coast is our favorite coffee spot. My husband and I love everything they offer and if we could get coffee from here every day we absolutely would! I also want to say that Spencer is the best! Every time we go and he's there, he gives the best recommendations and is always so so kind - and always has the prettiest/coolest designed nails! This cute coffee shop is tucked right inside NOLA Cutting Boards. A great opportunity to grab a coffee and shop cutting boards and other New Orleans gifts. I ordered the Southern Belle, a butter pecan cold brew with vanilla cold foam. This coffee was so delicious! It was a 10 out of 10, for sure. I will definitely be back to explore the menu! read more

LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEE THIS SPOT!!!! I tried it for the first time a week ago and could not get enough. It's absolutely amazing! The workers are always so friendly when taking my order and give me great suggestions on new drinks. I tried the earl grey matcha, banana matcha, and the new fall item Fall og (not pictured). Me and my friend kept taking each others drinks cause we couldn't decide which one we wanted to keep Lol. The muffin warmed was so soft and gooey it melted in my mouth. The only downfall is the minimal seating but it's in new orleans so I can't blame them. Definitely will be back!! read more

Located in a very charming (cheese) board and kitchen accessories store on Magazine, this coffee stand was an amazing surprise! My friend and I both ordered the king cake latte and a ham and cheese croissant. Now, I'm not an alternative milk girly, but I had to opt for almond milk because I was supposed to be avoiding dairy that day. I was worried I'd be wasting money (this place is pricey, FYI) on a coffee I wouldn't even like but oh boy was I wrong. This was perhaps the most delicious coffee beverage I have ever consumed in my life!!!! I am no stranger to a king cake latte but this blew every other one away! First of all, just look at how beautiful it is. We ate outside at one of their only two tables, and people walking by stopped to ask us if it was worth getting- our answer was a whole-hearted YES! We got it with the special cold foam they were offering which was also amazing. The other drink options also sounded amazing. The croissant was also good, nothing crazy though. Could've been a little softer. But wow that king cake latte. My friend had hers with oat milk and she was equally stunned with its goodness. I can't even imagine what it must taste like with real milk! Now, it did cost $16 for the coffee and the croissant but hey, I'd pay that again for that latte. read more

I ordered three bags of coffee online from Lower Coast Coffee which is located in New Orleans. Being somewhat of a coffee enthusiast, I can't say enough wonderful things about this company and their coffee. From the logo to the blends, they have hands down now become my all time favorite! The website beautifully displays and describes each blend and the online ordering was a breeze. They shipped to me in North Carolina and it arrived quickly! I highly recommend ordering a bag or 10 or visiting their mortar location on Magazine St. if you're in NOLA. read more

Seriously my new favorite coffee/matcha and pastry place! Lower Coast Coffee is located inside NOLA Boards on Magazine Street... think Starbucks in Target but an upscale boutique. The espresso bar is so cute! The baristas are super knowledgeable and friendly. Love the coffee here! The specialty menu has such unique drinks, I love it. My favorite is the Coconut Lavender Matcha, literally the best summer drink! Established in 2024.

Lower Coast Coffee Company was established in 2024 by Patrick Kelly and Danielle Pauli, both graduates of Loyola University New Orleans. After pursuing successful careers; Mr. Kelly as an illustrator and art director, Ms. Pauli as an educator, they returned to New Orleans, united by a shared appreciation for specialty coffee, fine food, and the city’s cultural heritage. Their objective is to provide a welcoming environment that upholds the highest standards of quality, sustainability, and community engagement. Longer: So I was a little hesitant to go to CDM, because it's such the tourist stop and the first joint anyone mentions when they say "beignet". But this was our first stop, morning of first day. The beignets are piled in sugar, they are warm, crunchy and crisp on the outside and soft, warm and delicate inside. I gotta tell you, the texture is just a little different than Cafe Beignet, the Four Seasons, and even the other CDM in the park we tried a few days later. To me, this is the best one. Now, as a coffee person, their black coffee is strong, rich, and a good compliment to the real show - the beignets. But I did not pick up on nearly as much chicory in their chicory coffee as, say, Cafe Beignet's version. Also, I have to let you know the other location in the big park serves a non-chicory version (in addition to NOLA chicory) that is head and shoulders the best coffee we had in New Orleans. But this is the joint. As a bonus, it's colorful, has consistently great street musicians, and has lots of walkable sites as you struggle to waddle around after too many beignets. Gotta go!
