I ordered a couple sandwiches from their deli and they were very good. Definitely a revisit!

If I could give this little gem more stars I would. I work at a local business and was refereed to this location MULTIPLE times! Now I can see why. First off the store itself is amazing! Full selection of liquor, beer and wines, but then the deli..(my main reason for my visit) but was actually side tracked by the store itself!! The staff is EXTREMELY sweet & welcoming, the girls in the deli were ALL so sweet and helpful. The woman who made my actual sandwich, SORRY, I did not get your name but it was around 1:30 on a Thursday, you DID your thing. This was 1 of the top 3 sangwiches I ever had, just straight up PERFECTION 10/10 & this is a LEGIT review since I come from the Bay where the options go crazy! This establishment is very very fine. Leagues better than Subway. They have really great seasonal merchandise, including spicy fig jam, and made fresh sandwiches. Everything in there is Italian. One friend got egg salad with avocado. Another friend got a very saucy sandwich with meats and other finger, licking sauce. Myself got a vegetarian sandwich on rye. Pit stop on our road trip needed some fuel for our Vehicle and for ourselves perfect stop for both. Saw on TIk Tok the sandwiches were good I love sandwiches so I needed to stop and try it out being from the Bay Area and grew up with 2 of the best sandwich spots (Little Luca and Darby Dans) I had to find a spot in the valley. I ordered a salami on Dutch crunch with the works and I will say it did not disappoint. You know a sandwich needs to be messy and this one was so I knew it would be good. I've been a long time customer of Ernies. I used to come for the sandwiches but I don't live close by. You can get decent priced gas if you use cash. On occasion he would do fuel discounts and have cars lined up for cheap gas. He's actively working in the store and easily recognizable by the mustache. I've never had an issue in this store. Don't sleep on the deli inside this place! Tri-tip Wednesdays are a must! Ribeye Thursdays are equally delicious! The rolls are so soft and fresh! I also like the chicken breast sandwich with Swiss cheese! They have a card you get stamped where you buy 10 deli sandwiches and you get your 11th free! Make sure to ask for your card and get it stamped every time you buy a sandwich . Trust me, after you eat one of their sandwiches you'll be going back for more so you might as well earn a free one! Not sure about some of these other reviews that are being posted giving bad scores for the place being closed on the weekends (Businesses need to close when it is not profitable for them to stay open ) or no public bathrooms available (due to the transients I have seen many businesses moved to doing this especially when only one bathroom is available. It must be utilized by the employees only.). I've also seen other people comments about it being the best price and gasoline, and I can vouch for that. This is correct! This place is awesome with the only downside being yelp has the hours of business incorrect. If you're headed here for the cheap gas (pay in cash), the actual store needs to be open which it is not later in the evening, on holidays and such. The sandwiches are great, the employees are great and you can always pick up a much needed random little item if the occasion calls for it. It is cramped inside so be patient. read more

All the workers here are really nice people - I stop here everyday omw to work they go out of their ways to help me as I am disabled currently. The food is good always and I love the specials and the good variety of drinks and snacks. Also you pay less for everything from food to gas if you pay with cash! The food prices are good compared to others on this strip but are my go to because of the quality. You feel like your eating good food that someone made fresh that day. read more

This is maybe the third time we have gotten to eat these delicious sandwiches and they never disappoint! Outside of Italy, and like two places in us, this is the best place for true Italian deli and snacks. In addition to our sandwiches, I loaded up on special stocking stuffers of Italian candies, jams, and jarred items. The grocery store has many unique items. The people are friendly and you get the feeling it is a family vibe. The hours can be a challenge as they don't open on weekends, but hey, I don't blame them for not doing so if they don't have to, and judging by how busy they always are, they seem fine. The sandwich and customer service in the deli - excellent! The customer service at the front cashier - horrible. I ordered a peppered turkey with pepper jack which as unique, fresh, and very tasty. It came with a flavorful pesto spread, mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, avocados, and black olives, which is a pretty unusual yet very delicious combination. I heard about this place from an influencer who reviewed their sandwiches and I made a special trip over there just to get it. The staff in the deli were super friendly and attentive. However, when I went to the front counter to pay, the old white, grey-haired man, sitting in the chair at the register was unwelcoming and rude. But I know he has the capability to be nice because I just witnessed him chatting it up with a customer that held up the line for 5 minutes. When it was my turn, I was the one who greeted him with a hello and a smile, but got nothing from him in return. I then asked if they take Apple Pay and he didn't respond. So after an awkward silence I repeated myself and he replied "hmph, yes", as if he was annoyed I asked. I left feeling his bad energy. Sandwiches are great.. pizza was better than expected. Good ingredients. Pepperoni was spicy according to my wife. Some will say skimping on topping others will say a good balance of topping. Crushed chili flake and garlic salt of sorts are supplied to top your pizza. Pizza is fairly tin crust ok crisp and not soggy. Next time i will ask for well done. That's just a preference. They don't have a public bathroom.... being that close to the freeway and offer gas but no restroom. Hwy 99 is a busy freeway . Doesn't make sense not to offer a restroom. I wouldn't recommend taking your business on this area. Only place with a restroom was subway. Go there! read more

Found Matilde Vincenzi Italian cookies in a beautiful tin; nicely packed-not-stale-inside and my husband loved them. There's plenty of snacks to select from in this little treasure. Tried their salami sandwich and it was good. Tried the prosciutto but wasn't cut as thing as they do in San Francisco but it was good. This place is a real gem. Cheaper gas than most places. Seems to be independently owned. I like to stop here any time I'm driving to Kirkwood from the Bay Area. They don't open their general store if you are there really early (like before 8 perhaps), but you can still get gas and then stop next door at McDonalds for a quick sammy. When the store is open, their deli here is really good. A sweet roll and fresh ingredients are tailored for a nice lunchtime treat on the mountain, saving me tons of cash. While they are making it, wander around the store. You will be surprised what you can all find in here. $400+ bottles of scotch, 12 pound roasts, crock pots, two types of garlic presses, Christmas ornaments, various chachkes, etc, etc, etc. I would bet if wanted it, they would have it.
