Thai food is my favorite of all the cuisine's. So we are always excited about trying new Thai Restaurants. I thought the Fried Rice was okay I think it could use more flavor. I don't eat Teriyaki Chicken. The Larb Salad was something we have always enjoyed although our favorite Thai in Texas served it cold which we become accustomed to. The Larb Salad here was very tasty and I would recommend it. And if you have an opportunity to try Larb Salad cold do it. I can say they have the BEST SHRIMP TEMPURA I have ever had and the sauce they serve it with YUM & their Thai Tea is so good. Last but certainly not least this little gem in the wall has a million dollar view. So go try it take a friend set have a bite and soak up the view. Came in as a family of 8, yes, we understood we were a big party, we got our seats. No greeting, no menus, no drinks. We sat there for 30 minutes, we finally got up to get our own menus, still nothing, so we all walked out, but oh, the owner was quick to take the menu. Read many reviews on how this was the best Thai within a day's drive, so authentic. We joined an out of town couple celebrating a very special occasion. We were pleased to sit on the deck as the sun was setting on the bay. That was the only positive. Worst service (no customers happy) 4 different meals, all were, at best, 1.5 stars. Sadly I must update my review from a year ago. The food has really gone downhill. The chicken was dry and they hardly put any in my curry. The curry was watery and sweet with no flavor. The only thing we enjoyed was the tom kha soup which was delicious. Last year everything we ordered was so good. Sorry guys, I hate leaving bad reviews, but we just dropped $80 for 4 people to eat Thai food, but I'm not sure when burned rice mixed with ketchup qualified as Thai food. Truly the worst fried rice ever. Few veggies, very little egg, and some awful ketchupy sauce. Same for pad Thai. The pad se ew was also not good. We enjoyed sitting outside next to the water, but in no way was that worth the money. Won't be eating there again. Please hire a Thai chef. read more

Service and food were horrible. Yes, the lady was nice, but between her being the one cooking and taking orders plus another male who was also cooking, it took FOREVER to get our food. When the food came out it was gross to the point that my wife ended up puking after having "fresh" salad roll with tofu. The tofu was old, tasted horrible. I ordered chicken with veggies, it was more like a soup. Horrible. We were four people and they just brought things one by one, by the time we all were done eating, my sister in law was still waiting for her plate, later we found out they gave it to someone else, who ordered a pad Thai with chicken, he ended up getting the pad Thai with tofu, and again, the tofu was gross. This is a great spot to grab dinner and watch the sunset. Located right there by the bay bridge. Easy access and plenty of parking. The service there that night we went was a little slow but still not bad. Only one waiter tending 4-5 tables. We got the green curry and drunken noodles. Both Thai spicy. It wasn't the best Thai we had but it also wasn't the worst. We'll probably go back to try other dishes. read more

Super convenient to us staying at the Quality Inn next door, just had a little walk there. It was late when we went so we were the only diners. The Thai lady that served us was so friendly and we got our food quickly. We ordered chicken satay and potstickers, chicken fried rice and ginger chicken stir fry. Good sized servings, ended up with left overs. Would have liked to see a bit more chicken in the main dishes. We've had Thai 54 before while at Bridge Bar and thought it was okay, but wouldn't go out of my way to eat there. We had it tonight while at Bridge Bar, and it was OUTSTANDING! We had the chicken drunken noodles and the fried spring rolls. Both were exceptional, and I'd compare it to the best of Thai I've had in the area. The young gentleman at the counter was super attentive and made sure I was all set before I left with my to-go food. And to top it off- they were playing amazing music! This place is a solid 3.5. Nice environment and family owned and operated. Located on the water very near the Bridge Bar. Food is very good, but service is super slow. You will wait to order, then wait for your drinks, and then wait for your food. Lots and lots of waiting. Compared to other Thai restaurants I've been to, this one is up there, but I found their portion size to be a bit small and the price to be a bit high. This is a family restaurant. A mother is a chef, a daughter is a cashier as well as a waitress. (I assume). They have four people on the day I went, two people in the kitchen and two people being a cashier and a waitress. So, you gotta be patient with them. I had to wait like 20 minutes for somebody came to refill my water, but it's okay I'm very patient. lol The water tasted weird, if they filter their water it may help taste better. I ordered Thai Papaya Salad, Panang Pork, and Tom Yum Gai. The Thai Papaya Salad was okay, you can specify the level of spiciness when you order. The Panang Chicken was not okay for me, they put too much coconut milk into it and that made the soup was way too thick and rich of fats. Its taste wasn't really Panang but more like Thai Coconut Soup and/or Thai Green Curry. The Tom Yum Gai was not really good. The location of the restaurant is great, you can enjoy a beautiful beach scenery while eating. Though I went there at night time around 8 pm then I sat inside the restaurant. read more

Location/Exterior: I'm a fan of local spots, and smaller eateries. My wife and I consider ourselves to be "foodies", so we both like this place. They could use more signage for people to find them and generate more business, which looks like they did make effort in this. The view is great. You have the option of sitting outside in their back patio. You have the sun, clouds (& sunset, if late afternoon), and the bay at your disposal. Food: Pad Thai may be the hard one to judge as this is the staple for all Thai restaurants. Theirs was average, but you won't go wrong in ordering it. I've tried a few others, and most of their curries are very tasty. Drinks: My advise is not to get soda. You'll receive a 12 oz. can, with a glass of ice. I never get why some restaurants do this. It doesn't attract regulars, it deters people from coming back (one reason), since in my opinion makes places look stingy. They do have refills on sweet tea. Their Thai Iced Tea is great, but the portions are small. They are generous with the ice, which in turn is not a good value. Too much ice, less tea. Very disappointing. Refer to pics. Inside/Ambience: Nice, serene, calm & quiet. Can kinda feel too quiet at times, as the music is low. Therefore you feel you can't talk loud due to the awkwardness of the others hearing your conversation. Summary: I've visited about 5-6 times in a span of 2 years. It's great to take a guest from out of town, to show off our different views of our town. And you know the food is dependable. It's not great, but it's good. I love good Thai food & realize many people rating a Thai restaurant may never have had authentic Thai food so be aware of this when reading Thai restaurant reviews. I went for a great green Thai curry with mangoes & sticky rice for desert. Servers first day, tried hard but had not been given even a cursory explanation of the menu & had no ideas which beers were Thai. The food was worse than mediocre. not authentic anything, poorly prepared and pretty tasteless. The mangoes were nice but the sticky rice must have been made a week ago and approached slippery concrete in consistency. Have a cold Singha on the deck and watch the beautiful sunset but eat somewhere else--anywhere else. read more

Standard Thai menu The food was really good. We were there at sunset and the view was very nice, lots of docked boats but a nice very of sunset. They were woefully understaffed. It took close to 15 minutes for water, another 15 for soup and egg rolls and another for the Bancock Sizzle (Thai fajitas served on cast iron). The tom kha was nicely seasoned - real lemongrass. The medium heat on the Bangkok sizzle was probably closer to a mild than a med but it was quite good. I don't know how permanent the staffing issue is but they needed help tonight. The woman who did the serving was very pleasant despite all the running back and forth. read more

Used to be a good place to eat but owners must have changed. Food was mediocre. I had the cashew stir fry with tofu. Tofu was so over cooked I needed a knife to cut it. Pad Thai was ordered hot and tasted mild. Service was ok. Our food sat so long in the kitchen it was cold when it got to the table. Paying the bill at the counter took so long there was a line when we finished. The 2 stars are for the view and how polite our waiter was. Never returning. Thai 54 restaurant is the latest to give it a go in this cursed location. Several have come and gone in this area in the twelve years we've lived in GB, but none have caught the fancy of us Breezers. Ironically, I believe a Thai place was here originally so it appears life comes full circle again! The best and worst of Thai 54 is in the dining room. There are only a few tightly packed in tables in an area that appears to have been a living room at one time. The decor is tasteful and the view Serene. Very cozy and intimate, HOWEVER, all the good goes by the wayside when you have more than one family dining. The area is so small and the sound insulation so non existent that you overhear every conversation. So, if you have a party and reserve the whole area you will enjoy a relaxing meal. Otherwise, if you are there while others are dining, you might want to consider headphones! Service was pleasant and efficient and the food was decent (Pad Thai/Drunken noodles) at a reasonable price to quantity ratio. Food was cooked fresh but lacked the variety of flavors found in other Thai joints (see Siam Diner). I did appreciate their rating scale for spiciness: the three was described perfectly and added much needed flavor. If there's a next time, I might be willing to go to a four. They are in the process of remodeling the back deck so hopefully that will cure some of the crowd/noise problem. Until then I recommend take away if you fancy their food. read more

We were on our way to the beach to another of Pensacola's fine dining establishments when I noticed the sign for this restaurant (which I recognized from bookmarking it on Yelp!) All of a sudden the family was feeling like noodles would be the way to go for dinner that night, so we diverted here to Thai 54. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the road but once you get inside, it is nice, spacious and has a relaxing atmosphere about it. There are a few tables in the air-conditioned dining room but they are able to seat more out on the deck (which has an amazing view of Pensacola Bay and the sunset.) We had Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Drunken Noodles. They let you set the spicyness levels and we didn't add any since our kids can't quite handle it. The Drunken Noodles had a mild spice without adding anything. (I have a feeling that they may really be able to kick it up a notch if you are into that!) I have had better Thai food in the past but this was still really good! Next time I will venture out and try some of the curries. Pensacola doesn't have many quality Thai food restaurants but this was really good and worth the drive. I will be back for sure. read more
