Absolutely fantastic Thai food in downtown Pensacola. The service was friendly and quick. Small restaurant overall so feeling lucky we were able to get a table on our one night in Pensacola. The pad Thai was soooo good, and I've had pad thai in Thailand! The serving was a little on the smaller side but I think that made it all the more delicious. My friend loved her curry as well. Absolutely delicious!!! I have been searching for the right Pad Thai and their Pork Pad Thai with level 2 heat was PERFECTION! The Golden Bags were so good and the dipping sauce they pair with it... holy air ball! I mean, everything was so good! Even the service. The location is small and quaint. Made reservations for 6 of us, and they were very accommodating. The service was exceptional! Everyone was super sweet and helped the rest of the crew decide on what they wanted to eat. I got pad won Sen it's not on the menu but she told me they could absolutely do it. It's my favorite type of noddle. Food was very flavor, the space isn't very big but it's super clean and cozy. Grabbed the lunch Pad Thai with chicken and chicken satay. Pad Thai was flavorful with a nice balance of sweet and savory, and the chicken satay was grilled just right. Portions were generous for a lunch special, and everything came out fast--food was ready right when they said it would be, which I really appreciated. Promptly seated at our reservation time. We've been wanting to try out SaBai for awhile now. Have travelled throughout S.E. Asia and Thailand, enjoy authentic food. That being said, we ordered the Papaya salad and Spring rolls as appetizers and the Shrimp Pad Thai as our entree. First, the Papaya salad was ok, just not up to my expectations. Wyndie and I decided to try SaBai tonight. It's a small but cozy restaurant, I was amazed how quiet it was for the size (nice date night atmosphere) I cannot believe how Great the service was. We had the steamed dumplings and we both got a soup. Wyndie got the hot and sour and I got wonton. (All were great by the way) We knew we wouldn't need two entries so we ordered a noodle dish with roasted duck, and they served it split on two different plates for us! I would love to tell everyone how good the food is, however after waiting 40 mins for dinner, I was too rushed (theatre tickets) to eat. Handing me a pork dish (I ordered chicken see yew) was kinda the icing on the cake (I don't eat pork!). Had our Waitress spent less time telling the table next to us her plans for having children when she finishes her business degree next year, maybe the order would've went in on time. It takes a special kind of bad for me to give a 1-star rating, but this was really poor service. The others in my party scarfed their food down and general consensus was that the food was basic (or as we always say...it'll make a turd). My friend and I had been walking in downtown Pensacola for a bit and we were becoming very thirsty. We wanted maybe a refreshing lemonade or something to quench our thirst. We were very close to SaBai so we headed there. Inside SaBai, we were greeted by the waitstaff. Looking over the menu, there was nothing resembling a lemonade but my friend asked the waitress for 2 glasses of water. She also ordered a Thai tea. As soon as we got the water we commenced to chugging. The initial glasses of water and the immediate refills did wonders to quench our thirst. Since we weren't very hungry we chose an appetizer and a soup to share. We order the chicken satay and the Tom Kha soup. I want to say the chicken satay was excellent. The chicken was seasoned well and really didn't need any peanut sauce. The star of the night was the Tom Kha. We had never tried it before and were anxious about what it would taste like. It didn't disappoint. The flavor was amazing. The vegetables filling the soup contrasted well with broth. I could taste both sweet and sour flavors. I've been to Sabai Thai twice with the last 2 weeks. Both times I ordered the Duck Noodles. The first time the food was amazing. I was practically scrapping the bowl clean. Sadly the 2nd time I went, it seemed like a completely different meal. Because of the inconsistency, I'm not sure if I would order this dish again. I ordered the Thai tea on my 2nd trip. As I was stirring my drink, the waitress noticed the color of the tea and immediately brought me a new drink which I appreciate. Very good waitress, Sadly I don't remember her name. Be very careful at SaBai if you park in the garage and they are to pay for your parking. I paid a $100 ticket from the garage that I requested their assistance with due to giving them my tag number and assumed it was handled. I received no assistance from them, whatsoever! Pad Thai is dry. I did appreciate that the medium level spice had some kick. The to-go rice is comically tiny.. maybe max a couple spoonfuls. For amazing (and Asian approved!) Thai food in Pensacola I highly recommend Siam Thai. read more

Finally got a chance to try Sabai Thia food restaurant and it was definitely worth the wait. The food was amazing and reminded me of visiting Thailand during my travels. The crispy duck was one of the best I've had in years. The service was excellent from the hostess to the waitress who served us. Very nice and super friendly. All were very extremely knowledgeable about the menu. The place is small but well done. Nice low lighting and everyone seems to respect other patrons space. We waited almost a total of 2 hours for our appetizers and food. We ordered golden bags which came out cold, they took the food back and just redropped it in the fryer (which is literally against code since we touched them), papaya salad was good, then we waited 30 minutes for 2 pad Thai's both level 2. Mine was fine, but my sisters was significantly spicier, also ordered the tofu salad, it advertised firm but came out fried. For how expensive it is, the quality did not live up to the amount of awards this place has. If it was busy then I'd understand; but the restaurant was 3/4 full... the kitchen staff must be training or something. The pig skins on the Thai Papaya were quite different from what I'm use to but honestly I couldn't not had been more satisfied. Absolutely delicious! If you have not tried this place your missing out! I got the #5 Thai heat because we love Thai chilies they only use crushed pepper flakes in #1-4 and Thai chilies for #5 so we went in all the way.
