    Beer, burger and a view!
    Richard H.

Good burger $$, weird smells came from the chili sausage dog, no. Think it was the sausage itself. Craft root beer! I'm driving, so... Location is fairly cool. New part of the airport. From up there you can see ticketing and security. The other side plain arriving and delivering. Pity we can't see the runway.

Seriously amazing chicken sandwich with habanero aioli! So good. The beer selection is out of this world. The vibes are great- not only for an airport but period. Great food and beer!

I had the tator tots with the beer cheese sauce and the chicken strips. With the homemade blue cheese dressing. One of the best blue cheese and chicken strips.

I love me some Loyal Legion so having one in the airport makes me feel just at home. They have LOTS of seating which gives views of the gorgeous terminal and the outside. It is a cozy spot with something for everyone.

First off--Loyal Legion is a gem! They've got a phenomenal selection of beers (seriously, something for every taste), and while I haven't tried the food yet, the menu looks solid. The location is a huge bonus: it's right before security, which makes it perfect whether you're waiting for guests to arrive or grabbing a drink before heading through. Total win/win. The space itself is gorgeous--big open area with comfy booths, TVs for catching the game, and stunning wood ceilings that give it a warm, Northwest vibe. Huge windows let in tons of natural light and offer awesome views of planes taking off, landing, and pulling up to the gates. Ordering is easy at the bar, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. It's a great spot to kick off your trip with a drink, or to meet up with your crew before flying out. Only downside? Not many power outlets, so charging your devices might be tricky. Still--highly recommend starting your airport experience here. It just makes everything feel a little more fun and a lot more chill.

This review is for PDX . Great place to be , as you wait for passengers to unload from their flight . Great beers , cocktails and pub sandwiches and more . Comfy seats , television all around . Makes time fly . I will come here when waiting.

Really cool space! They have a fun little play & dining area for kids. This area contains a little kitchen and an assortment of play food. Kids can also watch the planes take off. Friendly service. Food is tasty but the servings are rather small.

The food is actually very well seasoned and tasty, the big open windows looking out at the airport makes the view well worth it and the service was great especially for a airport bar. The ambience and service are great for what you would expect at an airport.

What a view! This is restaurant is taking up prime real estate at the PDX airport. We were a party of 14 and were seated right along the glass with a view of the airfield. Our server was very nice and the food came out fast. The photos of the food will speak for the rest of the review. Did I mention they have a speakeasy hidden away somewhere?

I liked that they open up a spot at the airport. They have a great food menu (also decently priced) and a good bar selection. I ordered the McLoyal, which is a great all around burger to have. It can get busy depending on the time and how many people are waiting to get drinks, but once you place the order in, the food comes out pretty quick. They also have plenty of seating and tvs for you to watch sports.

I made plans to be at the airport a few hours before my flight to take in the new remodel. I ended up hiking up to the mezzanine to visit Loyal Legion before passing through TSA. Loyal Legion really anchored themselves to the prime spot in the airport. Glad they did too, because the beer bar selection is amazing with decent price to boot. Their food offering is also pretty decent too. I ended up ordering the McLoyal with a side of Caesar salad. Even though the McLoyal is suppose to be their take on a Mcdonald big mac, it's an attempt but not the same; still good though. The salad was delicious, it was covered with parmesan. I am glad I was able to get to the airport early enough to not stress about getting through security so I can just enjoy this establishment. Keep it up Loyal Legion!

Excellent service - super friendly attentive waiter. Nice open atmosphere with floor to ceiling windows Delicious reasonably priced food. I was recommended the spicy buttermilk fried chicken sandwich by my server. Wow, was that a delicious fresh tasting sandwich. Spicy but not overpowering. It was $13, and I ordered a garden salad for $4. Highly recommend!

My wife wanted to visit a café of some sort this weekend; unfortunately, I'm not a huge fan of coffee, so my all of Yelp expertise was of little use. Yet one idea did occur to me: the new terminal at PDX is open now...surely there must be a pre-security coffee shop we could visit, right? I mean, come on, this is Portland! Where would we be without at least a Starbucks or a Stumptown on every streetcorner? There had to be some place worth grabbing a cup to jitter the nerves before an even-more nerve-wracking flight, right? As surmised, there is a coffee shop before the security gate; a couple of them, in fact, including all the repeat offenders I've already mentioned. And we ended up at none of them. Instead, my wife was enamored with the glitz and glamor of the new terminal, and wanted an elevated view of it while sipping a hot cup of...chili. Naturally, we ended up at Loyal Legion! Without getting too deep into the weeds, I'll summarize our experience here thusly: incredible service, excellent food and drinks, but small-ish portion sizes for the price. You can always expect and airport mark-up, and we were prepared for it, but everything seemed a bit on the anemic side. I had the McLoyal burger (a la carte, as all sandwiches are served, unless you specifically add on side dishes) and a Sazerac cocktail, both of which hit the spot for the savory and bitter notes I usually crave, but if I had my Druthers, each of them would have been a good 20%-30% larger. My wife did also get her cup of coffee, along with a cup of chili, the combination of which probably would explain why her stomach was unsettled later in the day, but that's her own fault for ingesting such a noxious concoction! Still, each of them was satisfying in their own regard, even if it isn't the most elegant of pairings. Again, the price seemed a little elevated for the quantity presented, in the case of the chili, but not outlandishly so. Being frequent travelers, my wife and I are very likely to return to PDX in the near-ish future, and Loyal Legion does offer some fantastic fare, but its pre-security location serves as both boon and burden to locals like us: if we're on an outbound flight, it's not spectacular enough to warrant a stop if time is of the essence, and getting through security is a primary objective. Similarly, it's not distinct enough in its offerings to draw us in to an inconvenient place like an airport terminal repeatedly, based solely on its own merits. Those things said, any casual traveler with time to spare, whether it be a long layover, arriving at the airport earlier than is necessary, or simply taking in the aesthetic of the new terminal, Loyal Legion hits all the marks of a quality pub in a traveler's hub. That alone should earn a legion of loyal customers enough to keep it in its lofty place above the concourse.

Special shout out to the kitchen staff for big multitasking energy: watching the game, closing out the place, and firing out some amazing food. Wilder's near-close happy hour offerings were both tasty and generous. Cocktails featured offerings from local distillers that yielded complex flavors but nothing that was "trying too hard" to be artisanal. Also Made my date's night that they were using polenta as a bun.

We walked in at about 6:30pm on a Wednesday night and was kind of greeted by one of the servers. She wasn't too friendly and seemed to be irritated that we said we'd wait for a table as opposed to sitting at the bar. Once seated, that same server came over to try to take our orders and once again seemed irritated that we weren't ready to order. Luckily, another server took over from there and we had a pleasant anniversary meal the rest of the time! Here's everything we tried: Devilish Eggs - This came with 4 deviled eggs and was just okay. The crispy bacon pieces was the best part of this dish! Steak Tartare - This was the main reason we chose this restaurant and we were definitely not disappointed! We spent our first anniversary together in Europe and had so much tartare and this really brought back some wonderful memories for us. The tartare was rich and mustardy, beef flavor was great, and it sort of just melted in your mouth. The crispy chips paired well with the tartare and I can't wait to come back and have this again! Mussels - This was a big bowl of mussels in a white wine garlic sauce with toasted baguettes. Mussels tasted fresh and garlicky with just a bit of funk from whatever cheese they grated on top. The toasted baguettes were so good dipped into that white wine broth. I wish this dish came with skinny fries but it was also so good as is. Would definitely order this again! Field Greens - I asked for this to come out with my meal but it came out about 10 minutes before the entrees came out. It was very light and refreshing. I saved half to have with my meal but most of it was wilted already by the time our mains came out. But it's okay! The fried chicken actually had a small portion of this salad on its plate. I wouldn't have ordered this had I known, so next time will skip the side salad altogether! Fried chicken - I really wanted to like this dish but alas, fried chicken breast is very hard to make juicy. I definitely prefer dark meat because that's harder to mess up. My partner enjoyed it but he doesn't mind dry chicken. The sauces were phenomenal! That mustard sauce was great and the sweet glaze was delicious! The potatoes would have been a lot better if they were smaller to get more of that crust to creamy potato ratio but still okay the way it was. My fiance cleaned this plate up! Brown Butter Cake - This cake was phenomenal! It's hard to mess anything with Brown Butter up so I had really high expectations for this and they certainly did not disappoint. The server was nice enough to throw candles on it since we were celebrating and it really ended our meal on the sweetest note! The restaurant itself is small and cozy. A bit dark and romantic. It really reminded me of the small bistros in France that we frequented while we were out there. We'll definitely be back to try other things on the menu!

We waited 10 minutes before we were taken to our seats. It seems as though there were enough tables to accommodate the long wait line, but not enough staffing. We understood. Our waitress gave us our menu and we looked through the menu. She came back shortly and took our order. We ordered the king pao calamari to share. My husband ordered the Parmesan encrusted halibut and I ordered the wood fire grilled rib eye steak. The kung pao calamari came with cauliflower. It was okay, the kung pao sauce was a bit too powerful for the sweetness of the calamari. I would lighten up the sauce lightly. The Parmesan encrusted halibut came with tomato paste, along with califlower, green beans and potatoes. I had a quick taste and it was okay. My dish came with smashed potatoes and asparagus which is a great pairing. The steak was cooked to perfection and I liked the smashed potatoes. The restaurant has a lot of searings, and nice decor. There are lots of views of the River which sets the ambiance for the night.
