There are airport bars... and then there's Loyal Legion... which feels less like a terminal pit stop and more like you accidentally wandered into a cathedral dedicated to beer, glass, and good decisions. I'm in and out of PDX every couple weeks for work, always walking past this place like "yeah, maybe next time." Well, today was that next time, and I'll tell you right now, I should've marched my ass in here a long time ago. Place is barely even breathing at 20 percent capacity, which means you've got room to stretch out like a king who just conquered Concourse C. Booths for days, tables for miles, and enough seating options to make you forget you're technically still in an airport. But let's talk about the real showstopper. I'm posted up in a chair that feels like it's three or four stories high, staring out these massive floor-to-ceiling windows that don't even feel real. Planes moving, rain sliding down the glass, runways stretching out like some kind of living painting. It doesn't feel like you're looking through a window... it feels like the outside just decided to come sit with you. There's something about being up that high, looking down, sipping a drink, that makes you feel like you've got life just a little more figured out than you probably do. Now, if you like beer, buckle up. Their selection runs an entire wall, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it looks like they've got everything short of something brewed on Mars. Twenty, fifty, who knows... it's a lineup. And if beer's not your game, the bar behind it looks ready to handle just about any bad decision you're willing to make before boarding. Food? That seasoned salad hit like it had something to prove. Fresh, balanced, and honestly better than it had any right to be inside an airport. They've got enough variety here that nobody's gonna be stuck eating sad travel food wondering where it all went wrong. And here's the sneaky part... this place feels like a hidden gem. TVs tucked everywhere without being obnoxious, a wide open layout that somehow still feels intentional, and a vibe that just quietly commands respect. Like it knows it's good, but doesn't need to shout about it. My nod of approval, grab a drink, and post up by the window. "I wasn't planning on drinking at the airport... but here Iam. Five stars. No question. This ain't just a layover... it's a destination

Good burger $$, weird smells came from the chili sausage dog, no. Think it was the sausage itself. Craft root beer! I'm driving, so... Location is fairly cool. New part of the airport. From up there you can see ticketing and security. The other side plain arriving and delivering. Pity we can't see the runway.

Seriously amazing chicken sandwich with habanero aioli! So good. The beer selection is out of this world. The vibes are great- not only for an airport but period. Great food and beer!

I love me some Loyal Legion so having one in the airport makes me feel just at home. They have LOTS of seating which gives views of the gorgeous terminal and the outside. It is a cozy spot with something for everyone.

First off--Loyal Legion is a gem! They've got a phenomenal selection of beers (seriously, something for every taste), and while I haven't tried the food yet, the menu looks solid. The location is a huge bonus: it's right before security, which makes it perfect whether you're waiting for guests to arrive or grabbing a drink before heading through. Total win/win. The space itself is gorgeous--big open area with comfy booths, TVs for catching the game, and stunning wood ceilings that give it a warm, Northwest vibe. Huge windows let in tons of natural light and offer awesome views of planes taking off, landing, and pulling up to the gates. Ordering is easy at the bar, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. It's a great spot to kick off your trip with a drink, or to meet up with your crew before flying out. Only downside? Not many power outlets, so charging your devices might be tricky. Still--highly recommend starting your airport experience here. It just makes everything feel a little more fun and a lot more chill.

Really cool space! They have a fun little play & dining area for kids. This area contains a little kitchen and an assortment of play food. Kids can also watch the planes take off. Friendly service. Food is tasty but the servings are rather small.

This review is for PDX . Great place to be , as you wait for passengers to unload from their flight . Great beers , cocktails and pub sandwiches and more . Comfy seats , television all around . Makes time fly . I will come here when waiting.

The food is actually very well seasoned and tasty, the big open windows looking out at the airport makes the view well worth it and the service was great especially for a airport bar. The ambience and service are great for what you would expect at an airport.

What a view! This is restaurant is taking up prime real estate at the PDX airport. We were a party of 14 and were seated right along the glass with a view of the airfield. Our server was very nice and the food came out fast. The photos of the food will speak for the rest of the review. Did I mention they have a speakeasy hidden away somewhere?

I liked that they open up a spot at the airport. They have a great food menu (also decently priced) and a good bar selection. I ordered the McLoyal, which is a great all around burger to have. It can get busy depending on the time and how many people are waiting to get drinks, but once you place the order in, the food comes out pretty quick. They also have plenty of seating and tvs for you to watch sports.

I made plans to be at the airport a few hours before my flight to take in the new remodel. I ended up hiking up to the mezzanine to visit Loyal Legion before passing through TSA. Loyal Legion really anchored themselves to the prime spot in the airport. Glad they did too, because the beer bar selection is amazing with decent price to boot. Their food offering is also pretty decent too. I ended up ordering the McLoyal with a side of Caesar salad. Even though the McLoyal is suppose to be their take on a Mcdonald big mac, it's an attempt but not the same; still good though. The salad was delicious, it was covered with parmesan. I am glad I was able to get to the airport early enough to not stress about getting through security so I can just enjoy this establishment. Keep it up Loyal Legion!

I had the tator tots with the beer cheese sauce and the chicken strips. With the homemade blue cheese dressing. One of the best blue cheese and chicken strips.

Excellent service - super friendly attentive waiter. Nice open atmosphere with floor to ceiling windows Delicious reasonably priced food. I was recommended the spicy buttermilk fried chicken sandwich by my server. Wow, was that a delicious fresh tasting sandwich. Spicy but not overpowering. It was $13, and I ordered a garden salad for $4. Highly recommend!

The room alone almost made it worth my time. The English pea risotto was very good, and the house fries were good. The French-oaked flight I requested was a sad effort. The bartender never asked what distillers I had as options other than indicating that Makers 46 must be what I'm after when I said French oaked and creamy was my vibe, to which I raised an eyebrow and indicated I was ok if he started with that in my flight as a base for comparison. Otherwise he never asked whether I'd like to spend good money on something special (I would have said yes) and later claimed these were the only French-oaked bottles they even had in stock despite a claimed inventory of over 2,000 whiskeys. What arrived: Penelope Architect--nothing at all on the nose, something like wood paneling on the palate. Angel's Envy Triple Oak--tasted just like the Angel's Envy Rum Cask I can get at the supermarket. Maker's 46--the best of those three, yet still quintessentially basic as a wheated French-staved bargain buy, which, by the way, I never indicated I was there for. When I diplomatically indicated my that my flight was totally blasé and asked for one last pour in hopes of redeeming the experience, he brought me a redundant Maker's Heart Series in which the heart was made of mildly chocolate-inspired disappointment. Staff clearly put effort into educating and serving, and the environment is special enough that I hope to return with friends for that alone, even though I was rushed out due to a scheduled reservation needing my unscheduled seat. Ultimately the pours left me with an extremely unimpressive result and a future 0-for-2 that I'd be willing to risk in hopes of their redemption. Exceptionally impressive venue, if totally unimpressive flight curation.

They did not rush us even with the time constraint. We ended up getting the lodge and the foggy notion. Both were good - I preferred the lodge as it allowed one to taste the whisky more. Most places at least in Seattle have a large ice cube with very little alcohol. This one you actually had room all around the ice cube and volume wise is worth the price in my personal opinion. There were very well done cocktails. I chose the Saville Painkiller Cobbler which was very similar to Piña Colada with Ube. The drink was such a pretty purple shade, dusted with purple sweet potato/taro powder, and served in a Pineapple shaped glass - so aesthetically pleasing and very easy on the palate! My husband got the Pandan Old Fashioned which was very delicious as well - silky, sweet, boozy with a strong Pandan forward profile. For snacks, we got the Shrimp Chips and the Whipped Ricotta with Soppressata that comes with a generous portion of 4 slices of Rustic bread. The shrimp chips were humongous and so light, airy and crispy with a delicate shrimp flavor. The presentation on the whipped ricotta was so beautiful, and it tasted so good with the Calabrian chili and Soppressata! Portland has no shortage of amazing cocktail bars, and this is another place I would come back to if I ever find myself in Portland again!

Everything took forever to come out (even the drink), nobody came out to check or refill waters in the 90 minutes we were there. Cocktail (Spring Break) - 5/5 great! Bruschetta - 3/5. Generally good but the bread was carbonized and as hard as a rock. Burger + fries - 3/5. Burger looked sad but was actually pretty tasty, if a little overcooked. Fries looked great (hand cut) but upon us closer inspection in the low light, you could see they were 50% those tiny peel pieces that get burned when frying. Guys! You are supposed to take those pieces out! Salmon - 3/5. Kind of... fine. A little fishy, not really what i expect for King salmon. Chicken pasta for toddler - 4/5.
