Very good experience and well made entertainment. It would be better if you actually get a full hour to escape the room. They give you 60 minutes, but it includes introduction and if you ask too many questions it's just eats up the time. We had reservation at 9:15, got in a room closer to 9:30 and by 10Pm we were done. They started us at 60 minutes count down shown on the screen, then 10 minutes later we found that we have 20 minutes left and we knew they adjusted the time. It was challenging so we used some clues, until we figured out how it works. They don't tell you where to start and if you never done it before it get's very frustrating until you get a concept. We were very close to get out ad we would have if we had 60 minutes instead of 35... this needs to improve to get 5 star rating. read more

We went here with a group of friends for my birthday and did The Bunker and had an excellent time! The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was challenging. We used all three clues, and were able to finish in 45 minutes. It is very fun to go through the different steps to solve the mystery & feel that sense of accomplishment as you get closer and closer. Since there are other themes at the location, too, it will definitely be fun to return and try the others. I'll be back! read more

I wanted to do something different with my daughter and we thought we would try Escape Quest. I had the greatest time of my life. It was so interesting trying to figure out the clues and trying to get the key to escape. Although you are limited 1 hr to complete, our team made it out with 3 minutes to spare. Ok, not great. This is the second escape room we've tried and had a great experience with the first place we went, so it's hard not to directly compare the two. When we got there, we were excited by the large decorated waiting room. It was cool and had thematic music playing. We showed up fifteen minutes before our game, but it was fifteen minutes before anyone even acknowledged we were there. Finally, a surly teen came out and had us sign the waiver before disappearing again. At this point it was the start time for our game and no one had told us anything. Finally a woman came out and called the group for the time slot after ours and we asked what was up. She said the group before us was over large and running late. Which was fine, but we had to wait 20 minutes before anyone told us anything. So, we finally got into the Captain's Quarters! Pros: -Large, well themed room. - Our guide, Nick, was great. -Fun idea, we picked it solely based on the piratical theme. Cons: -Room felt empty, not very many puzzles, 6 or 7, compared to 13+ at the other place we went to. -All the puzzles ended with a numerical padlock except one. Even if you had a word puzzle, you then had to use a code to translate it to numbers, which felt super tedious and unnecessary. INVEST IN WORD LOCKS. -It was a million degrees in there. At one point, the AC kicked on and we all cheered, but then it immediately cut off again. -Nick warned us about "Red herrings". These turned out to be clues left from the previous version of the room. Every puzzle had a specific item as a reward and we kept collecting more of them thinking there'd be a bigger payoff or puzzle for them, but they turned out to be useless, which was sad. - Two of the clues didn't fit the theme of the room AT ALL. We figured out one of them pretty quickly, but the other looked like part of the room's electronics, i.e. we shouldn't touch it, so we didn't, until explicitly told to. - The locks SUCKED. They had a push then pull mechanic that nobody wanted to try to force. We wasted two clues, trying to figure them out, only to be given the answers we already knew. Nick then told us the trick, and we immediately got them both open. Nick was great to give us one of our clues back and an extra minute on the clock. We escaped, but just barely. The room suffered from a lack of puzzles and a few poor mechanics. We had a good time, but not nearly as enjoyable as the first one, where we came out gushing about how clever the puzzles were. It felt like we came out with more gripes here. read more

We bought a groupon for 6 people (3 adults, 3 kids ages 13-15). We booked the Lost Temple, which is a 10 person room, so when we arrived, another family (3 adults, 1 youngish child) were waiting as well. Our hostess, (whose name I cannot remember, sadly) let us into the room about 10 minutes early because we were all there and the room was available. She was very, very nice as well. The Lost Temple is actually a two room puzzle, and there are many clues, at least 12-14 depending on how you count. Two of our kids had done several rooms before at other locations, and afterwards they both felt that this was the best room they done thus far. The clues were definitely challenging, and there were several red herrings (clues that were not used), which I thought was great. We were warned about that in advance. A few of the puzzles were very easy. We breezed through the first two because I had played a LOT of escape room puzzles on my phone previously and I had seen two similar puzzles. My experience with online escape rooms was a big plus as I was often able to eventually figure out a next step, but we definitely would not have finished without contributions from the entire 10 person team. We had good collaboration with the other family and managed to push through the entire escape room in 44 minutes with NO HINTS! A few times we were stuck and got close to asking for one, but someone always came up with the next move. I thought the final puzzle was VERY clever, and it took us a few minutes to figure that out. A mighty cheer erupted when we solved the final puzzle. Others have commented that there were a lot of combination locks to unlock and there were. That's not uncommon based on my online experience and I thought they were just fine. The room was a bit dim, so seeing the numbers on the locks was a challenge without using our cellphones as flashlights. Fortunately, the kids did most of the unlocking. Young eyes. :) The room was warm with 10 people in it, but not uncomfortable. Overall, we had a fantastic time. My 15 year old daughter had not done something like that before and was thrilled, so there's a 100% chance we'll be back to do their other rooms. read more

This place is awesome! I took my four nieces and nephews out for some uncle fun-bonding time. There is good signage and parking for the location. Khalid, our team facilitator was great!; he was knowledgeable, and welcoming. "The Bunker" room was one of the harder levels; which added to the suspense! Clues are left in the room, and given via television, all of which are realistically solvable. I like to find new, fun, and interesting things to do with my nieces and nephews, to create memories. EscapeQuest definitely met the standard & made for a memorable event. I (we) can't wait to go back and try the other rooms with more family and friends. Put EscapeQuest on your activity list. We drove an hour in rush hour traffic, having called ahead and rescheduled for them to tell us we can't do it due to a complication. They posed no solutions, the man was completely useless! This was my first experience at an Escape The Room type of establishment. We chose The Lost Temple which was a 5/10 for level of difficulty. We managed to get out with about 18 minutes to spare in the alloted time of 1 hour. I would definitely recommend this to anyone thinking about going to Escape Quest! Lets just say that after not being greeted when we arrived,as a matter of fact,nobody was there,I got a bad feeling. The waiting area decor is superb,very nice,to bad the few employees who started to duck in and out of different doors in the waiting area didn't bother to acknowledge us. I wasn't even sure we where there at the right day or time and whether they where open for business. The room we booked was the Bunker. The puzzles where ridiculously hard to solve and the clues stupid and not helpful at all. Overall very irritating and frustrating experience. A few more clues would have been helpful and maybe better clues on the sequence of how you must solve the puzzles. Even after Khalid our handler told us how to solve things and in which order it was extremely convoluted.No chance to ever solve it for the average mortal.... You'd have to have superpowers to escape that room. So not fun at all!!! Maybe another room would have been more fun.The other people in our group,strangers,thought the same thing.One of the guys in our group was extremely upset about the impossibility of solving the puzzles and escape. read more

Very disappointing. Even with correct codes to locks, they wouldn't open. It took several tries. Our host would give some hints after us yelling for assistance for 5 mins. Then at the end when we lost, the host attempted to show us the last puzzle that we couldn't solve and couldn't open it up herself. read more

I visited this escape room with a nice big group -- master gamers and newbies alike. This room was OK and the puzzles were amusing. We were incredibly close but didn't escape, but that's not the reason for my poor review. I was most frustrated because the game master would not describe the missing steps to get from where we were to the end. He said it had something to do with that "you might come back." There's no way we would spend hundreds of dollars and another outing to Old Town just to find out the last 5 minutes of the same room. We already did the whole damn thing! We are good losers, but the game master's attitude after we failed really soured the whole experience. I would not recommend this escape room company. read more

We had a horrible experience with this place. I took my 9 year old daughter and her friends here for her birthday party. We got stuck in traffic and ran a bit late. When we arrived there were 4 adults we didn't know in the room already and they were well into solving it. Needless to say this wasn't going to work. The people working here made no attempt to remedy the problem and told us to come back another day. The birthday party was ruined, so we won't be giving this place our business again. read more

Escape Quest was the highlight of my entire visit to Virginia last weekend! I went with my boyfriend and his whole family (ranging from 13 to 45 years old) and we ALL had a blast! It was so fun working together as a team and seeing everyone's different strengths and personalities shine. The rooms are decorated beautifully with high attention to detail and the games are packed full of great clues and surprises. The staff was both funny and friendly, and seemed to really enjoy facilitating the games. Overall, we had so much fun- I wish they had one just like it in Colorado! Highly recommend!!! read more

This was our first escape room, and it was so much fun!!! The puzzle were challenging but possible. Even though we didn't escape in time (so close!), we enjoyed every bit of it.
