Whenever I visit family in Melbourne, we love doing escape rooms together and typically visit the downtown location. We've had wonderful experiences at the downtown location and decided to try the West Melbourne location. Never again. We showed up 5 minutes early (not as early as we would have liked due to traffic), and no one was there to greet us, but we scanned the QR code and started working on our waivers. The game "master" came out a few minutes later and let us know where the restrooms and lockers were if we needed them. There was no sense of urgency conveyed, and she did not mention that there would be a bathroom penalty (I am pregnant but would have rather held it than lose 25% of my investment). After we had taken 5-7 minutes to complete the consent forms, use the restroom, and use the lockers, the game "master" tells us there will be a penalty for showing up late, and does not tell us what the penalty will be. We were never offered the option to have the rest of our party start on time, and those needing to use the restroom join later either. She then takes her sweet time telling us what not to do, how to open each lock, etc. and tells us not to start looking around the room until after the video has finished. Once the clock starts, she takes a 15 minute penalty, giving us only 45 minutes. During our welcome, the game "master" said she would nudge us throughout the experience and help guide us along the way. This did not happen. We didn't escape, and when we asked if she could tell us what was missed or how close we were, she refused. We did Shipwrecked, which was advertised as "starts in the dark," but the entire experience is lit by only Christmas lights and flashlights. We went with elderly relatives who are low vision & did not feel like they got $30+ out of their 45 minute experience. I work in customer service and all new employees have a learning curve. I highly recommend incorporating basic customer service principles and soft skills training into your new hire training program going forward. read more

Came here for a friends prepaid birthday party. The waiver process was a real pain. The wrong waivers were signed due to the iPads being handed out wrong (although this was blamed on us) and many of the parents of the kids had already left. The waivers could not be easily found on the website. As a matter of fact it is NOT apparent at all where these waivers are located. The website is terrible for first time user especially on a mobile device. Overall the kids had fun trying to escape one of the hardest rooms and were unsuccessful but this was a first time for many of them. They are excited about going back. It seems like a really fun experience just the management and intake process for a prepaid event is lacking. read more

Went with a bunch of friends, 6 of us total. We did the diamond heist which only 28% of groups escaped. Can't give any details about our game but it was super fun and we escaped with 10+ minutes to spare. It gets you to think outside of the box and work on teamwork. Good bonding experience. We loved doing this escape room. We're Escape room veterans and we've done MANY around Central Florida (having only ever lost 1). For this establishment, we did the room 'Shipwrecked' The puzzles went along with the theme, everything flowed together. The set was done well and the use of flashlights in a dark room helped with the creepy vibe. My only critique which leaves me to give this less then a 4 is that the game master walked us through most all of the room without us asking(or wanting). Anytime we'd open a chest or start to figure out a puzzle, she'd chime in over the speaker and automatically start telling us how to figure it out or start leading us in the direction we needed to go. We all kind of wished she'd just let us do the room on our own. This really ruined the immersion and of course, we broke a record on the room, you know, because we had help every step of the way :-/ Which even then, she didn't take down our team name to put on the board. read more

This was my first ever escape room. Completed the CSI challenge with my sisters, sister BF, and some older random people who also had a groupon. What a fun time! I was worried about having older random people around but they totally killed it and we got along great. It was so much fun! I can't wait for the walking dead experience to be released in a few months. This is definitely a must do for any group of friends and family. The staff was super nice and informative. The escape room was challenging but not impossible. We finished with 17 minutes to spare. I hear the diamond room escape is the most difficult. We will most certainly return to give it a try. That WAS AWESOME!!!!! We did the Escape room last night for the first time. It was so awesome, the Staff explained was very helpful and friendly . We did they CSI room , and it was set up like a real crime scene and made as us all our Brains together . We definitely will be back for the CSI we could not finish all the way . But we want to do all the other rooms they have too. There is several rooms you can choose from , the Sweet room ( candy) , the Undead ( zombies) , CSI , Story land ( ounce upon time ) , Ship wreck is a dark one where you only have flashlights and lanterns. That's the one we doing next The next room is already book for next month . I can tell this is very addictive already ,but in a good way . Cant wait to go back there... Its is not expensive to do and if you book your next room the same night you get a 25% of for next time here in Melbourne . read more

Family in town after the hurricane and found this place online. Went into the Shipwrecked room, just 3 of us. Awesome concept! Won't give it away but you have to follow clues, solve puzzles to find the code to get out of the room. Got hung up On one, staff gave us some help like we asked for or we'd still be there lol! Managed to get out with 4 minutes to spare. My daughter is already googling Escape Rooms in her area. They take a pic of you afterwards that you can download. I also had a groupon that saved me about $14 on 2 admissions. read more

This was really fun! Since this was our first Escape Room experience, we did the easiest room (CSI). I was unsure if this was going to be fun or if we'd be bickering the whole time but it was a blast. It was simultaneously harder and easier than I expected; way more puzzles but when you have a bunch of people working on them they get solved pretty quickly. We are definitely interested in going back and doing the Shipwrecked room. read more

We did the Sweet Shoppe room and it was really fun. This was my first escape room and I didn't really know what to expect, but our guide was great and helpful. I also appreciate that they had a room themed with something a little lighter and more fun than a lot of the horror/heist themed rooms I see advertised at most places. Given a choice, I'll always take the goofiest option, so this was good for us. read more

Escape Room was incredible. It was so fun and unique. The group was two couples so we were all college aged. My group loved getting to do something that challenged us mentally. The staff was very helpful with their suggestions for when we got stumped. Once we figured out the type of clue to look for then we were able to really figure it out. I just went in with 3 other people to the diamond heist room. When we first walked in I thought the room was pretty bare but this it was surprisingly hard! We used 3 clues and got out with 8:40 to spare. I'd love to go back and do the other rooms. The Zombie one sounded really challenging. read more

Went on Friday July 1st. This place was amazing. Very organized and professional setting. We went with a group if six. Some were noobies and others experienced escapees. We felt it would be easy with our experienced members. Needless to say it was an amazing yet challenging time! The room we did was Shipwrecked and even being the easiest of the four rooms they have we found it challenging. We had to use all of our 3 clues to escape, but we did it! The adrenaline rush you get from trying to solve the several problems was awesome. Great job to the escape zone! Even our experienced members said it was one, if not the best escape room they have done! Highly recommend the escape zone. Team work is a must here!!! Great for work team building events! read more

Had so much fun here! we did the shipwrecked one and beat it with 5 minutes to spare. My friends and I are already planning on doing all the other rooms and maybe even traveling to their Cocoa location when it opens and doing those if the rooms are different. It's a fun thing to do that isn't the typical stuff you do in Melbourne. It would make a great team building exercise for a business or company.
