This was my second time at this escape room. For me personally, this was a much better experience than my initial one with the front desk staff. We did Scooby Doo with two adults and three kids, which obviously made it challenging. It was a lot of fun and we will be back to this location in round rock. read more

We went here a few years ago but recently went last month and we took our kids who were six and seven and did the Scooby-Doo room. I really love that you can book out the whole room. It does get a little pricey with just four people but for us it was really great because the kids were able to run amuck and Mommy and daddy ended up running amuck as well trying to solve everything. I do love the attention to detail. I think they made a few improvements since we went a few years ago and it's even better. I love that you are able to get a lot of hints and make it not too frustrating, especially with two little ones who at first weren't into it but ended up getting really engaged in trying to solve everything, especially as we uncovered the additional rooms. We almost got to the end which I was very proud of us for because we were not very organized, coordinated or having it together with our problem solving capabilities. I would really love to come back here again and do another one especially later on in the night. I think we got the last escape room for the night. The best escape room in Austin! The rooms are really cool and high quality. We recently did the scooby doo one and it was so well done. They really capture the essence of the theme. They have all high quality props and the room is thought through and purposeful. Everything is well maintained which also improved the experience they do rotate the rooms out so you can try different ones. The staff is nice but you cannot be late! We walked in on Father's Day without a reservation and it was our first escape room experience ever It was a 3- generation adventure of me, my son, and oldest granddaughter.....and somewhat of a reunion adventure for us and did NOT disappoint! This place is so fun! Fantastic for a date night. My husband and I have done two of their rooms and both were fantastic. I cannot recommend these escape rooms enough for a date night. It's very fun to get to work together to solve puzzles and figure out clues together. And no phones allowed! I can imagine this would also be a very fun choice for a small birthday party or family outing. Everyone who works here is also great. So nice and willing to chat. The lobby is fantastic, lots of seating and the lockers are super nice to have available. read more

We had a great experience & it went really well! Just a heads up though, the way they rate the difficulty of the rooms are accurate. We went to a 9/10 difficulty room & thought we'd be fine, "how hard could it be?" But boy were we wrong, it was very hard. So make sure you pay attention to that. Once we decided on a room and time, we placed a reservation. Everyone was very kind when we arrived. We got our instructions and went to the room. My sister came to visit Austin and since we are both escape room addicts we naturally started looking for rooms to try. Our initial draw to this company was that all of the rooms are PRIVATE. Companies that value the experience that the players have rather than cramming as many people into a room as possible is a huge plus for us. The lobby was clean and well kept. Lockers for personal belongings are free (no cell phones inside rooms). They will email you a team photo after your room (check the box in the waiver to receive promotions) and have sign bubbles you can hold with different phrases like "I did everything" and "I was moral support." We reserved the Lost City room and ended up booking a second room, Arizona Shootout, the same day because there was availability. They gave us a 25% discount on the 2nd room for being same day which was great and a coupon for 20% off another adventure in the future. Front desk staff was very friendly and our game masters, Logan and Wendy, were awesome as well. Thank you Logan for the evil laugh sound effect we asked for and thank you Wendy for the helpful nudges! Rooms were appropriately challenging for us, 2 experienced players, but would be suitable for players with little to no experience in larger groups. Games can be played with or without "nudges" which are essentially a mini hint if you're falling behind. In each room you are allowed up to 3 hints with no penalty but any hints beyond 3 adds a 2 minute penalty to your total time. There are buttons in the rooms to call for a hint and you must state what you want the hint for. Lost City was very well done and the only note I would have is there is no flat space to put accumulated items in the first room. This is just a personal gripe and not something that is flawed with the room. We liked the variety of puzzles and that there weren't a ton of combination locks like we've seen in rooms by other companies. Puzzles involve more than just what you see and find but also what you hear. Arizona Shootout was an interesting room that we definitely got hung up on some of the puzzles throughout so again shoutout to Wendy for the nudges. The game has several puzzles that the pieces are accumulated throughout the rooms so pay attention to those. Slightly less enjoyable than the Lost City because we got especially frustrated with the final puzzle so kind of stuck with us. Without saying too much just make sure to explore your surroundings more than you think. Overall we were definitely pleased with the experiences we had in each room and the value received for the price paid. Highly recommend to anyone that is looking for some great rooms from a reputable chain of escape rooms. Planning on visiting again with friends and seeking out this company for more room opportunities during future travels. read more

Had my daughters bday party here and the kids had a great time! A group of 10-11 yr olds. Place is very clean, nicely decorated and staff were all very friendly. We booked Lost City so it wouldn't be too difficult for our young group and staff helped with a hint and a couple nudges. The pic at the end was a fun surprise. Fun, fun, fun. Just got home from doing an Escapology adventure. This was our first time as a family doing this activity. Totally worth it. Ben Zeidler was our Game Master and was super friendly, helpful and had a reassuring, friendly tone over the intercom when we need tips and help. Easy to book online. Pick your time, pick your adventure. Pay online, just check in with the front desk when you get there. Super clean inside. We used the bathroom before we started and all commented on the cleanliness...I know that sounds strange, but a clean bathroom sets the tone for everything. The best thing is that they manage it so that you do not run into other guests. No COVID worries. It might have been a small thing, but I saw them lysoling things when we arrived...another good sign. You wear your mask in, but can take it off in the Escape Room as it is a private party event. No randos or strangers....how refreshing and relaxing. Well themed rooms, multiple rooms, tons of puzzles, tons of challenge and tons of fun. The Arizona Shoot Out was the one we played and it was a good introduction into this type of adventure. We are definitely coming back to try another adventure. If you are looking for something to do that is fun, safe clean and challenging....give Escapology a try. Oh, there is a boba place, Southern Comfort food, Brazilian Steakhouse, Cinema and other food and drink places in the shopping center. So, get some grub and get your adventure on all in one trip. I love puzzles and I love escape room and have done a couple of various one, but this one was by far my favorite! I liked that they had an easy to book website interface and checking-in was a breeze! They ask you be there 15mins before your start time to fill out the waiver and to get acquainted with the other that may be in your room with you. They book up to 6 per room (which I have done larger groups and it was nowhere near as fun as the 5 we had in ours, so 6 I think is def the "fun cap" for number of people to do any given room). There was 3 of us in my group and a couple we didn't know. I loved that we got a little "meet and greet" time to kinda get to know one another before entering our puzzle room. The intro to our "mission" was bit cheesy and if you get vertigo, you may want to close your eyes because of the light movement. We did the Nuclear Annihilation room, which is basically thwarting Castro by obtaining the nuke codes before your 60mins is up. I really liked the puzzles and the flow of the game. None of the clues were that hard and you had to think outside the box for a few of them. A couple of clues we figured out, but the mechanisms to get certain things to work did not, so it was nice to be able to "consult" our handler when we got "stuck". We ended up escaping with almost 12mins to spare! The green screen pic at the end was a nice touch and the staff here could not have been nicer! Will definitely be back to attempt another room (or maybe two since you get a nice discount if you come back in the same day to do another mission). read more

It is clear that the owners of Escapology truly care about each guest experience from start to finish. Adorably they have treats, lockers, a lounge and small water bottles when you arrive. Check-in was easy and we were soon on our way. We had an "explanation" room setting the tone for our particular room and it was a wonderful added touch! The room itself had some elements that my husband and I haven't seen in other escape rooms. We did lost city. We had a lot of fun. It was quit challenging and there were many things in the room that were not explained very well in the first place. The key pad it would helped a lot if there were signs in the room Or being told in the beginning that the pound sign was something that needed to be pushed. On one of the locks it wasn't explained at all how to use it. The fact that clues were given on a tv screen and you could not talk to the actual employee was extremely frustrated. The room was very well thought out and was a ton of fun! But changes need to be made on how you get clues. read more

My wife and I really enjoy having date nights at escape rooms and Escapology is one of our favorites. The rooms are very well done. We really like that you can book the entire room and it's still price per person. Some maze rooms make you buy the entire room or you might be paired with random people and the last thing we want on a date night is to spend it with a group of random people. We have done all their rooms except for 3 but we have one booked for this weekend! We had so much fun during our first experience at Escapology that we went again a week later to try another scenario! I wore my 8-month-old baby in a carrier, and he did great both times. We brought out of town family both weekends, and they all had a blast. We're all still talking about it!! The owner Patty is so sweet and professional. You can tell she really loves what she does and goes the extra mile to make the games fun. The people who work there really get into character to make it even more exciting too. Just some cool things to note: We learned that this is one of the only wheelchair compliant escape rooms in Austin. We also learned that Patty loves to customize her puzzles and really gets into the staging of the props in the rooms, which means that you can go to another Escapology location to play the same scenario, but it will play and look a bit different.
