Eskimo Joe's is a MUST eat in Stillwater, OK. The wait wasn't bad and some shopping in their store can fill the time. The bacon cheese fries were recommended to us by two different sets of strangers. I'm recommending it to you too, and pay the up charge for the peppered bacon. It's worth it! The wait staff was friendly and ask for a to-go cup to see if you can take a souvenir cup with you. This place is a must stop in Stillwater. The sweet peppered bacon cheese fries are as good as advertised. The Stillwater slaw dog is delicious. It's huge and has a lot of pulled pork. I enjoyed the baked beans sign. The pecan smoked pork sandwich is also great. The Mac n cheese was decent. I loved dining here. Cool shop next door and places to take photos. read more

I love Eskimo Joe's. I come here from OKC on business every month or two. They truly have great burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, etc. Tonight I had a double burger cooked medium rare, with grilled onions, chili, pickles and blue cheese. So yum. Oh yeah, I had them hold the bun. My friend had a double burger as a lettuce wrap. Finally made it. Annoyed at the start. I tried the blue cheese burger and was disappointed with how little blue cheese was included for the price. I was also unimpressed overall with the flavor and substance of the burger. You can't upgrade meal fries to cheese or chili cheese. Why would I want to buy a separate order of fries and get fries with my meal. Horrible policy. Heard numerous customers ask for option while we were there. I would have paid an upgrade but wasn't given option. I reuse to order a separate set of fries as did others. Wife's SW chicken salad was disappointing. Said chicken was well seasoned but that a McDonalds salad is usually better... The worst part was that for the price, I actually left hungry. That is so unusual in Oklahoma. I guess the first question you gotta ask yourself is why did you come here. And the answer would start with, "it's an iconic institution affiliated with a great school and a very supportive community". The restaurant is loud, charismatic, and fun. This isn't a place you go for a quiet burger in the corner. Would I come here often ... Probably not. But as s visiting parent of a OSU student it's great to get caught up in the energy of the school and community. Ok .. Enough of this. How about the food. The cheese fries with the sweet bacon are Awe-some. For $7 bucks they will be eaten with gusto. Bam .... There gone:( I also had a burger with chips. The bread was so soggy with grease that I dumped it. The meat quality was good though. My daughter had the pulled pork which was very good and my wife had a salad ( she said it was ok. If your into that salad kinda thing ). I've also had the chicken before and in hindsight, I wish I would have ordered that instead. Oh well .... As for seating. Good luck. Ask to join others at a table and meet new people or just wait by a table for those to leave. The staff was friendly and very hard working. My only complaint is about cleanliness of tables and high chairs and how #unbothered the staff is about it. I think Eskimo Joes could use a deep cleaning especially during these unprecedented times and consider Stillwater has a high covid19 level( per news) It didn't meet my expectations to all the hype I've heard about it. Friday night before graduation place is packed and after spending in the gift shop we're drinking cold beer and waiting on a table. Table for seven, about a hour but finally got a buzz and sat in the bar by the pool tables but in a isolated tables so it was intimate. A few apps and couple of pictures of cold brew and we're enjoying friends and family! We got the sweet pepper bacon fries and fried mushrooms zucchini and onion rings, very cripsy and crunchy! I always have a blast here. Such a unique venue in the heart of a college town. Usually always a 30 minute wait, but I have no problem socializing beforehand. The gift shop is definitely all part of the conspiracy here. I dont know how to not spend money in there. The food is always a solid 4/5 its never a 5 and never a 3 which makes it just right to keep eating again and again. Drink deals are always killer. Staff is always friendly. Restrooms are clean. Had to get a 3rd job just to fuel my new addiction since moving here and that addiction is shopping at Joe's. read more

I am often asked to name a restaurant that makes me really angry, and without hesitation, I always name Joe's. Not because the service is bad or particularly slow, but rather for the reason that the food is so incredibly mediocre, unremarkable, and downright bland that the only appropriate response on behalf of the unfortunate patron consists of equal parts hatred and disgust. This was a disappointing visit. Our food was incredibly slow in arriving. Our waiter apologized for the delay. When it finally arrived the fries were soggy and the burgers overcooked. It took forever to get our check and equally long to pay it. There seemed to be a lot of people standing around. Clearly training is needed and management needs to be visible. We absolutely love eating here! My daughter is a huge fan of the ever famous bacon cheese fries. It is a fast paced atmosphere and can be pretty loud and rowdy. Service has always been good. Only thing I'd like to see different is a little more variety on the menu, however for a pub style eatery it's very good and definitely worth checking out when In town. The store is great too merchandise is a bit pricey average of 20-30 dollars for t-shirt other than that it's a great place. We stop in at least couple times a month. read more

Apparently, this restaurant is a long-standing famous restaurant near OSU. I personally had never heard of it but I tell you it was good. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and to my surprise the chicken was grilled not fried and it's one of the best buffalo chicken sandwiches I've had in a long time. We also as a group ordered a plate of their famous chili cheese bacon fries and I'm pretty sure the bacon is candied but whatever it is it was incredible. Next time in Stillwater, I will go by and try something different because I'd be willing to bet there's not much on the menu that's not Really good. Hey I went to college at OSU and we (4 of us) wrapped up our 3500 mile Bike ride there on the 12th of June. All I'm sayin' is this has evolved into an institution in Stillwater. Drinks were great, the food was super, and service, what can I say. Great all the way around. Even with the Covid-19 limits there was no negatives about. I graduated in '76 so I remember the Juke Joint it started out to be. Glad I drove all the way from Kansas City via the Rio Grande to get there. well worth it. read more

This is a staple while you're visiting Stillwater! I've always been a fan of this establishment because I love the family friendly atmosphere. I was in town for the holiday for a bball game and my big brother has never been to Eskimo Joes. We came here after the game for a quick bite before heading back to OKC. Of course there was a wait but we ended up sitting at the bar upstairs. The bartender, Phillip was such a pleasure to talk to. He was very kind and attentive. Even gave my brother some suggestions on food. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. Our food came out fairly quick and was hot, ready to get in my tummy. When in Stillwater, Eskimo Joe's is a must. Seriously. It's as touristy as you can get for a restaurant but that's the point. Eskimo Joe T-shirt's are popular around these parts, and this is the restaurant that inspired the shirts. The walls are wood, the floor is wood, and the tables are wood. The decor screams Okies. TVs are everywhere. Upon sitting down, a side of pickled vegetables are placed at your table. Pay a little extra for a soft drink and get a souvenir cup. The hottest item on the menu is the cheese fries, which we indeed ordered. I would say they were definitely better than your average fries smothered with cheese. I also ordered Joe's House Salad with seasoned chicken on top. A classic that didn't disappoint. Stillwater isn't necessarily a destination for most people, but if in the area and in the mood for quality, reliable food, stop here. If anything, it's a great place for people watching! read more
