We stopped to get gas and some burgers for our kiddos. Practically a 45 min wait for 2 plain cheeseburgers. The staff is super nice and they have clean bathrooms, but the wait for food was pretty outrageous. The burgers were mediocre at best, and definitely not worth the wait. read more

This convenience store offers a variety of snacks and beverages. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They also have a grill that's open until 3 PM (closed Sunday) with a lot of tasty options. The grilled chicken, bacon, avocado sandwich is very good. We also enjoyed the pastrami sandwich, breakfast burrito, and chili dog. I highly recommend stopping if you're passing through town onto your next destination. read more

If you're driving through Dyer, Nevada, a tiny town on Nevada Highway 264, pull in to the Esmeralda Market. Not because it's a notable store, but because it has a great deli inside. It's an independent business run by a couple of local women with fresh made sandwiches, salads, soups and the like. The local sheriff had dropped in to chat when I was there, so I asked him what was good. He recommended the burrito. Why not go with what the locals enjoy? It was packed full of tender shredded beef with fresh pico de gallo. Not spicy but full of flavor -- and they had bottles of hot sauce ready if that's the way you like it. The hubby got the taco salad and was happy to find that same shredded beef instead of ground beef featured in his salad. And did I mention they have brewed ice tea (not that nasty fountain stuff)? Get a large and you're ready to venture back out into the Nevada desert. I don't know when I'll be back in Dyer but if I am, I'm stopping. read more

We have camped here a few times on our Adventure rides. Very nice people, I needed a towel, the lady behind the counter told me after I get off, I will bring you a towel and she did.. Love the towel lady. Bar across street has great food. we will be back! read more

Fireworks all year long! Also beer, soda, water, dairy products, groceries, cigarettes, a great deli with reasonable prices, gas pumps, a few slot machines. And of course the fireworks! This store is in a beautiful setting in agricultural Fish Lake Valley at the foot of the White Mountains. The RV park next to it is shaded by enormous mature cottonwood trees. The Fish Lake Valley Heritage Center next to the RV park has a priceless collection of artifacts from the valley's 150 year history. Oh and did I mention the market sells fireworks? read more

They have an RV park with 3 cabins you can rent by the night. Very affordable. Dyer is a peaceful place, a beautiful no stop sign, go through it in one minute town settled in the valley floor. The views are amazing. There are tons of places to explore within 20 minutes drive/ride. Great date getaway. Good for two couples as well or a family too. Explore the white mountains and have fun. The cabins are amazing. The attention to every detail is impressive. A modern, yet totally country feel. Very clean. Cabins are 100 years old, they have remodeled them to 2016 standards. Every little touch is awesome. You would think there was an interior decorator called on-site to help with all the finishing touches. Great nights rest. Silent. Summer can be active as they are harvesting, but not too bad where you don't get rested well. Cabins totally exceeded my expectations. You could stay there for an extended stay and be totally comfortable. Great spot. The market has a good ammount of sundries and food and drinks. Great for its location. Enough to survive. Gas available at 10am to 6pm. Service is on point. Very friendly, very helpful. Family run with quality in mind and it shows. Restaurant food (full menu),is available to order. Almost as easy as room service. Bonnies Bar, great spot just across the street. Friendly staff, good drinks. What more can you ask for? Get some gas, grab a relaxing drink or two, stroll across to the market, grab what you need, walk over to the cabin, enjoy the peaceful setting, talk a walk, take a drive, take a ride, come back, settle into one of the cabins or your rv, enjoy the sunset and calm night! Four seasons weather. Great experience in Dyer, will be back for sure! Who knew!?? Dyer has a secret gem....! You want to slow down, go to Dyer. Stay in one of the cabins, you won't regret it. I came across this site by accident looking for some other information. I lived in Bishop in1989. I was on a long motorcycle ride that took me through Fish Lake Valley. It had been raining in the area and as I was riding north I came across a section of road where a flash flood had crossed it. It was about 300 yards wide. I carefully crossed it and continued on. It was not raining in the Bishop area when I left in the morning and I did not take any rain gear with me. When I got to Dyer I stopped at the market and bought a box of large trash bags which I planned to use as a makeshift poncho. Thank goodness for that market. I finished the ride and it did not rain. It was a fantastic day! read more

This is a sparsely stocked market with a lunch counter. I guess this would be in the good eats in a gas station category as they do have gas pumps. Located at the south end of Fish Lake Valley just beyond the eastern Californian border at the base of the beautiful White Mountains. The lunchroom is always filled with the few locals that live here and the food is decent. You are out in the boonies- see my review on the Boonies Bar across the street- and this little spot is the heart of the valley. If you want to eat and meet the folks who live out here, and believe me, there are some interesting folks, stop in for lunch here. read more

My colleagues and I stopped by to rest our weary travel bones and were very delighted to find this oasis. We were particularly pleased to find shelter for a picnic we enjoyed under one of the finest shade trees in all of Nevada. A special treat was the museum the owner had obviously created to better acquaint visitors to the valley to the local history and culture. For sure, we'll be stopping again next time we're in Dyre. read more

We stopped here between Vegas and Yosemite on a family road trip. The lady who served us had to be one of the friendliest, most helpful people i'd ever met. Great service. The picnic area at the side was made up of two rows of wooden seats and a few crates- very rustic but it was perfect to sit under the tree there, catch the breeze and have a snack after a good few hours on the road. Linda owns this market and RV Park. What a passionate and energetic woman. The market is clean, organized, well stocked and provides honest and friendly service. The RV Park has all one would need to get comfortable. Linda has also invested much time and money to build a museum as a tribute to the people and ranchers that made the Fish Lake Valley special in the lives of families since the late 1800's. I'm about as far from being a local as possible but the 2 or 3 times I've stopped here the staff has been very friendly. Gas prices are good and the Mexican-style ice cream bars in the freezer are tastier than Ben & Jerry's. On my first stop a few years ago, there were 2 motorcycles, a horse, an ATV, a few pickups and a cross-country bicycle rider all parked in front. read more

Nicest folks you ever want to meet here! The park is clean and quiet and uniquely located for incredible off road exploration of numerous ghost towns and abandoned mining operations. Linda, the owner, is a walking encyclopedia of local history (born and raised native) and she is always happy to share her knowledge. She also has an INCREDIBLE museum of local artifacts and again, she is happy to share her knowledge with anyone who has an interest. The store is well stocked and like the park, very clean and well organized. Everyone we met here is extremely friendly and welcoming. Very good Verizon cell and internet access. We will be back!!! read more
