Esmeralda's is a very nice store where they sell quinceañera, special occasion and prom dress dresses. They actually have a very nice selection of very fancy dresses in a variety of colors, styles and sizes to choose from. The store is very open with lots of mirrors and dressing room rooms to try on the dresses. The employees are there to assist in trying on dresses clamping them on the body so that they fit and to bring additional dresses as needed. The dresses range from $250-$600 and they have no price tags on the dresses. So you don't know the cost until after you've tried the dress on and love it, then you ask the cost and learn the price of the dress. Overall, it was a good experience - my daughter found a prom dress and the price was not outrageous. I am giving three stars because every time I asked a question of one of the ladies assisting my daughter with trying on dresses, she would turn and ask another employee a question in Spanish. I personally spoke to every single employee in the store and know that they all speak English. I just don't like it when I ask a question and they speak amongst themselves in their language, then answer my question in English. While I don't speak Spanish fluently, I do understand it pretty well, so I knew pretty much what they were saying and to their surprise I would respond to what they were saying in Spanish amongst themselves in English, which caught them off guard. read more

Went with my daughter to find quince dresses. Selection is humongous. We had an appointment and they took us right away even though the place was packed! The lady who helped us was super friendly. They let us look at all the dresses and pick 4 to try. My daughter only liked two. She's very picky. Prices were decent, same as other places. We previously had shopped in stores in Tijuana, San Diego, and Orange County. None of the other stores compared to the customer service that we received here as well as a clean and organized store. Other places try to push cheap knock offs as though they were the designer brand and not the store. We especially love the option for the custom designed hoop skirt to match the dress that are also more comfortable than the ones commonly found. read more

When there for prom dress shopping, quite packed which was to be expected. Service was great and when I found my perfect dress it needed alterations. When the dress came in, I went to go and pick it up and we started the alteration process. The lady who was doing the alterations spoke no English, so it was pretty hard to understand. Alterations took about a week or so. I went to go and pick it up and when I arrived nobody greeted me for at least 15 minutes. Mind you it's a Wednesday and it wasn't packed at all. I also had appointment. After 15 minutes they finally took me back and I tried on the dress and it was great. Now here's where I have my complaints. The day before prom I took my dress out of the bag to find all of these strings from the alterations. They did a horrible job. After paying 65$ for just a sizing change, the did a horrible job at alterations. Underneath the dress, there were tons of just loose strings. They could have done a much better job. I'm disappointed that I noticed it so late. But it is what it is, I had a great time at prom and the dress was beautiful. Just be mindful of the alterations if your dress needs any. read more

TERRIBLE alterations Expensive alterations Always late Inconsiderate of others time Bad customer service I am really disappointed with the service we were given. We came to the shop a total of 4 times and three of those times they were late opening. Two of the times I had an 11am appointment. The girl opening the shop didn't seem like she cared she was late. She'd show up around 11:15-11:20 and not say a word to everyone waiting outside. She turned on lights, turned off alarm and then let us sit for another 10 minutes before asking for names. Regrettably, I ended up ordering my bridesmaid dress here & came in for alterations a few months later. I let the store know I'd be back on a specific day to pick up the dress and I was assured it would be done. I called the shop and confirmed my dress would be ready because I was driving more than an hour to get it. I arrived and my dress was not in the shop. They made a call and the seamstress dropped it off 30 minutes later. The seamstress did TERRIBLE! It was the worst work I have ever seen. I have had several bridesmaids dresses altered and my own wedding gown from different stores, so I know what alterations should look like. The gentleman working (the owner possibly?) saw the work and shook his head, he said that is not what it should look like and seemed like he was disappointed. He said she was probably rushing and that's why it looked like that. He said not to worry about the $120 alteration fee and that he'd "take care of me". That DID NOT happen. He called the seamstress and told her to come back. She arrived about 20 minutes later and never once acknowledged the mistakes, the terrible rushed work or wasting my time. The stitching was bunched up, fabric was overlapping and sewn on top, & the slip/lining was four inches higher than the bottom of the dress. She tried to argue that the slip was supposed to be like that. I looked at the other 7 bridesmaids dresses and the original dress I tried on and none of them were like that. In the end, she agreed to fix all of the errors. We waited 3.5 hours for her to take the dress home and make all repairs. I came back and picked the dress up. Sadly I have a small run on the front from where she sewed poorly. After over 5 hours, I have a mediocre dress and was give a tiny $20 credit and asked to pay $100 for the shitty alterations. I ended up paying but I will never go back nor will I recommend this shop to anyone. I highly recommend looking for your gown at a different store or get your alterations done elsewhere. read more

Such a great experience! I came in without an appt and noticed they were busy. I was sure I'd get turned away. Instead I was explained that if I wanted to view and try on dresses without help I was welcome to. I found several dresses I loved at an incredibly reasonable price! They answered all of my questions. I never felt rushed. After I left I went to another store which had the same dresses at a higher price. I even found some online stores with a higher price. We had our appointment today- they seemed well prepared and took covid precautions. The atmosphere and decor was beautiful. They picked several beautiful dresses for her to try on and really made my daughter feel like a princess. They were so nice and let us take photos unlike some other places we've been. Worst of the worst, ordered a dress for a quinceañera which was needed by early March for a June event .. After explaining to the owner that photographs are needed by early april .. The dress showed up in a mismatching tone of color .. Horrible promising from owner.. week after week its the same story, "hasn't arrived, hasn't arrived, the seamstress is out sick", (anything else you can think of) this is now 40 days before the event ..
