Tartufp is so good here with pistachio ice cream

A hidden gem in a little neighborhood this place is a great find . Homemade Italian cuisine with great service. Great specials and drinks as well . A bit pricey but well worth every dollar as you will leave full and happy. The key lime pie martini tastes like a fresh pie .penne vodka is perfectly cooked. The cheese in hot chicken sauce is a large appetizer. Great steak smothered in cheese and amazing meat sauces . Save room for dessert. The tartufo is so tasty

    Homemade ricotta! To die for!

Great food! I'm sorry to say that the last time I was at Espo's was in the 1970s, at my sister's high school graduation dinner. So sorry to Espo's for not coming back sooner. The parking stinks. Street parking only, and if you can't parallel park, you're out of luck. LOL. Even so, Espo's is as great as ever! Food, service, atmosphere, etc, can't be beat! We went for lunch, and the menu said sandwiches. Our server said they could serve dinner as well. Awesome! I got the chicken parm, my friend got the linguine with clam sauce. I loved that there was no shucking of clams. Vodka sauce was great.. The best thing was the homemade ricotta! Served with crostini, topped with shaved garlic crisps. We took it home, but it melted in our car. Oh well. Our bad. Excellent meal, superb service. Next time we dine here, we'll sit at the outside dining area. It's beautiful.

Reservations are strongly recommended. Was very busy at 4:30 on a Saturday. We sat outdoors as inside was busy and it was a lovely space. They did have heaters Service was great, but food did come out slow but again it was very busy We loved the Calamari, short rib ravioli special Good not amazing: clams casino, chicken Murphy Food was enough to feed two people easily. So huge portions. If you're in the area would check it out. Also, they have plenty of TVs for games

I returned here for another meal. The Hotsy Totsy Shrimp was once again ordered. It was very good as my previous review stated, but it was definitely not as spicy as I remembered. Instead of the Caesar salad this time, I had the house salad. This was tasty and the house dressing was pleasing like I remembered trying last time. For an entrée, I had the braciole. It was three large pieces of beef braciole topped with lots of cheese. I also opted for a side of rigatoni with marinara sauce. The braciole was tender, but could have been a tad more seasoned, but regardless, it was still very tasty and filling with the red sauce. I liked the melted mozzarella on top too. I also had the pistachio tartufo again (see previous review for similar thoughts).

Our neighborhood's local Italian eatery and it did not disappoint! Went in on a Sunday evening for my wedding anniversary. Had their staple Sunday Gravy which was phenomenal. So delicious and hearty. Everything tasted super fresh. Wife went with the traditional chicken parm which she loved. We will be back. If you're looking for a laid back Italian meal, this is where it's at. Service was top-notch. Restaurant is super chill and laidback. Great for a date night or a group!

A local gem. The steak is so delicious but pricey. I sit and the bar and it's a lot of fun. This place is always packed. The real deal Italian food!

The food, ambience and service is always amazing and this time was no different. I got the chicken parm with vodka sauce and a side of linguine and it was fantastic! The sangria is also phenomenal and I will be back again!

Upon entering, each guest is warmly greeted by the host / waitress as family and seated. Each table is served house made bread before the meal. The special of the night, pork rolls stuffed with herbs and cheese was hearty and wonderfully cooked. The plate was delicious, but at around $40 it was a bit pricey for the portion. There was a birthday while our party was dining and the owner led the restaurant in singing a birthday song accompanied by piano and followed it up by playing some classic Italian songs afterwards. The service was wonderful and each guest was personally greeted and thanked upon leaving the restaurant. It's clear that the restaurant is well loved by locals and the owner. If I was celebrating an occasion area I would likely come by.

No tables or seats available at the bar with several parties waiting patiently. We were warmly greeted by the manager as he told us it would be at least 45--60 minutes for a four top. My bride noticed a single chair open on the far side of the bar so we made our way through the friendly crowd. The vibe here is causal with a very friendly neighborhood feel. We eventually made it over to the open seat as patrons on both sides skooted over to make room for us. The bartenders were getting slammed but they promptly acknowledged us and took our order shortly after. My martini was served in a well chilled glass with olives and my bride's chardonnay was perfect temperature. Soon after getting our drinks, as our friends arrived, two more seats at the bar opened up, so they took them and order their drinks. A short while later a couple of octogenarians entered the packed bar area, so we gave them our seats. At this point, we ordered another round and patiently waited for a table to open up. The manager stopped by a few times with estimated updates. He did a great job of keeping us advised and about an hour later we were seated. We ordered fried calamari and oyster appetizers. Our friends had mussels marinara, my bride has Caesar's salad and calamari and I had the soft shell crabs. We shared a bottle of Albarino (Great value). The food arrived in a nice relaxed pace as the waiting patrons were all seated at this point. As usual, the food was all on the mark. Nice tentacles with the calamari, perfecting flash fried. My oysters were cold, briney and firm. The mussel portion was very generous and the marinara had just the right medium zip. My sauteed soft shell crabs were perfectly cooked and served with tasty garlic enhanced spinach. We enjoyed our conversations and didnt notice we were the last patrons in the place. Regardless, there was no rush. I had some expresso before heading out. This place has been very consistent, even when packed. We will definitely return. Just a reminder. They dont take reservations, so be prepared to chill with the friendly crowd while you wait... and bring cash as they dont accept credit cards.

When I picked up my pie, we ate our first slices outside. The pizza was warm, and I wish it was scolding hot. This was phone order that we picked up in 25 minutes. So I don't know if this pie was one that was already made. The pie was well done. I like my pie with some white mozzarella cheese still on the pie. The pie was kinda orange when you look at the pictures I posted. Some of the crust and slice underneath was burnt. Plus when you look at the pie, it was not a perfect circle. One slice was out of place. As for the pizza slice, it was a bit on the salty side. The pizza base crust was a little on the heavy side. It was not thinner or on the lighter side. This reminded me of the way Vermont pizza is made, well done. The pizza was ok, and people's opinion is very subjective. What one person thinks is a 9.4 out of 10, could be an 8.4 by another. I couldn't test if the crust held up the cheese and sauce since I picked it up warm. From what I gathered with the underside crust, I would not flop since the crust was on the heavy side. Overall, I would try it out again and eat in so I get the great experience of the pizza pie coming right out of the oven!

The biggest surprise was dessert. I expected the tiramisu to be my favorite, and it was very good, but the standout was the warm apple crostata (apple dessert) served with vanilla ice cream. To start, we were given a family-style salad. It was mediocre at best. Boring. Mostly iceberg lettuce, no tomatoes, red onion on top, carrots, and cucumber. The complimentary bread was good, but it wasn't Italian. We were given another basket after we finished the first one. The butter was in those little plastic containers. Nothing fancy. Our entrees were: Dinner Giambotta (mild): Italian sausage, peppers, onions, potatoes, garlic, white balsamic parmesan sauce.
