Stopped by on a rainy morning. The Cortado hit the spot! The baristas welcomed me and were quite pleasant chatting with other guests while preparing our drinks. Inside is cozy with a couple people quietly enjoying their drinks while using their devices.

Strawberries tasted so old and nasty. The custard was cold. I've been here 3 times just for pastries. Last time I went there was some type of plastic of some kind in my pastry. This time my coworker went and let me have this and I was still very disappointed. Another reason why I remembered why I never go there.

TLDR: Chaotic queue. Order FIRST on the left, and then potentially trap yourself on the right to pay. (Yes, you read that right.) Tip: Park in Broxton Parking Structure for free 2 hours! - - - - - - I visited Espresso Profecta for my go-to Iced Latte, and a few things stood out, specifically their tight space for lines and ordering - rather chaotic. To make matters worse, the door fits one person, and the line wraps you into a trapped corner - backwards design? Another thing to note is that you place your order before paying. In other words, you receive your drink and pay at the same time. This would work well if their counter area was "reversed" so as not to trap customers into a corner. Another unique signage was that they prefer customers not be on their phones / Bluetooth while ordering - understandable given the fast-paced environment though it may come off as unwelcoming, it's not. However, what was unwelcoming was accidentally cutting in line - again chaotic experience - but it was quickly resolved. The bartenders the morning of my visit weren't the most friendly, but WOW did that espresso hit boldly. Cushioned upon a layer of soft creamy milk, it partially made up for the experience. Unfortunately the ice does "water" and thin down the drink a bit, so may potentially try again on a future visit.

What a great vibe. Not only a great vibe, great coffees. It's a small place, one espresso machine but don't let that fool you. These folks turn the drinks out and they're amazing. I love a good iced latte, no flavors. If it's made properly, it doesn't need extras, unless you want that flavor. I drank my iced latte like I'd been stranded on a desert island and dying of thirst. Stop in and give them a try!

I've missed this coffee shop! I used to come here all the time when I worked nearby and now I never leave without having a white velvet whenever I'm in the area. I ordered an everything croissant today and that was delicious, too. I've never ordered anything I didn't like here and I love that they're consistent- my drink always tastes the same. Service is also always great, and the ambiance is beautiful- perfect place to work remotely for a bit while enjoying a nice cup of coffee in the morning.

This place was great! There was a long line but it went by pretty quickly. I got the cardi p latte which is a pistachio latte and it was so good! It definitely had a floral taste to it which i really enjoyed. The coffee was also very smooth and the sweetener wasn't overpowering.

You order on one end and then you pay on the other side and get your drink! Ambiance: 5/5 Cute interior. Good study spot!

I used to be a profeta regular when I was a student at UCLA, but also back then they had all the seating blocked off for covid restrictions. I just visited this month and the environment was absolutely lovely!! The ambiance and space was homey yet unique, which is hard to find in the area. There was additional outdoor seating that felt like a garden and the coffee bar itself matched the entrance with nice plants. I always have enjoyed the pull of espresso they have here, you can't go wrong asking them for recommendations. If you are into the basics, the oatmilk latte is very nice here. Profeta differentiates itself from some of the other coffee shops in the westwood village by prioritizing comfort and flavor over quantity and overextension. Very happy to return whenever it's in my plans.

Also, sometimes in the afternoon, the milk teas aren't available (when it's too late to brew more tea). The matcha here is creamy and earthy yet sweet. Most other matcha places in West LA have watery matcha, so I'm glad the matcha here is better. They use lactose-free milk by default. The shop is small and there is no seating inside. There are just two large tables outside, so you'll likely need to sit around strangers. Service is good, but a bit slow because of how small the store is. Keep an eye out for good deals!! The matcha cream was smooth, flavorful, and not too bitter nor dry. Good quality. The sweetness and smooth texture of the coconut water was refreshing and provided just the right amount of sweetness. They also gave me a cup of the coconut water used which was also sweet and refreshing. The barista was also super nice and you can tell that he enjoyed his job and interacting with the customers. The drinks were very good and exactly what you'd expect from a quality café. But the food presentation--wow! It completely exceeded my expectations. I honestly wasn't expecting this level of presentation from a café. The portions were generous as well, leaving us completely satisfied. I also tried one of their pastries that reminded me of a cinnamon roll. It was enjoyable, though as a professional baker and pastry chef, I felt the pastries were the one area with room for improvement. In my opinion, they seemed to prioritize elegance and originality over achieving the best texture and flavor. Even so, they were still good, and I appreciated the creativity. I arrived around 6:13 AM, 17 minutes before opening, after dropping a friend off nearby for her work at Trader Joe's in Westwood who starts @6am. Usually when I have an early work call, I go to Bluestone Café because of the ambiance I've experienced before as a former UCLA Student, who is now Recently Graduated Btw. I asked Angel if it was okay to sit and get set up while HE finished opening, I also offered to help if needed, and he was friendly and understanding, and I only set up 1 table because it was out of the kindest of my heart AND he was awesome. Not even 6 minutes passed by but, I could tell he's a solid, smile oriented customer service worker with a big heart. A few minutes later, at 6:22am Carol approached me and told me to leave, after I had just ordered because Angel was treating me with 5 star hospitality! The restaurant was not open yet, AND I completely understand that a business has opening hours, and I would have had no problem waiting outside if that had been communicated respectfully by the "owner." The issue was the way the owner of Bluestone Café, Carol, spoke to me as her claiming she's "the owner" because she knows people in the district? Ok carol. She raised her voice, treated me like I was a problem, and made me feel extremely unwelcome. I left upset because the situation did not need to be handled that way. Angel, however, remained kind and professional, and I want to make clear that this review is not about him. Angel provided excellent customer service. "I was a disturbance," allegedly though to Carol when I asked why she raised her voice at me like that. No where near was I about to counter her asking me to leave originally, just wanted breakfast before my call and I was willing to wait, Angel knows it... but Carol? Man, she's lucky I didn't give a WORSE review than this one. By the way, this is my 3rd yelp review in the last 5 years, so when I gave the option for her not to act so disrespectful, she turned it up 10x. Completely unacceptable to treat anyone that way, and trust me I know the homeless problem in LA is bad. Hello I was in burberrys and a UCLA sweatshirt with my Tumi Backpack labeled "CB" (my initials), and in my 1300 european shoes I bought also known as burberrys... anyways I confusingly and surprisingly stated "I mean should I leave a 1star review?" Because I was astonished that the owner was continually being so disrespectful, but Carol responded by saying "I'm just going to counter it don't worry, we'll handle it"... who's we Carol? Overall, I was very disappointed by how the owner handled the situation. A simple, respectful explanation would have been enough. Instead, I felt disrespected and embarrassed, and I will not be returning to this location because of CAROL. :) However, Angel, and your coworkers, YOU guys are AWESOME for real. Food is good as always.

BUT THERE WASNT ENOUGH. i had to ask for extra syrup when my friend's same order was initially sweeter. the coconut foam was yummy too, but it's just the lack of consistency and attention to detail that cannot justify the really STEEP price of this place. any other small-business would weigh out the matcha, syrups, make sure the price is reasonable (i think), and so forth. i don't think i'll be back to alfred's westwood location, but if the desire for fruity milk and the slightest bit of matcha flavor hits me, maybe another location would do...
