This is one of my favorite coffee shops on campus. Its located on 2nd floor of Kerckhoff hall (hence the name Kerchhoff coffee house) and its very beautiful. This place has lots of tables and outlets along the pillars. Its a nice place to gather and discuss homework, projects or study for any upcoming exams. Its a loud, vibrant yet productive atmosphere filled with hip-hop music from the speakers. The drinks here are well made. I love their Earl Gray Tea Latte. It is the best. I love it so much. I also like thier coffee, its decent its not too acidic or bitter and they have a nice selection of sugars and milk, cream, soy options for you to add. They also offer fresh pastries and sandwiches from Curbside of Avenue A, for those who want to get something to eat. I usually go for the donuts with sprinkles, they taste like the ones from winchells. The only downsides is that this place is often very very full during weekdays and exam days (midterms and finals), so expect to get your food and drinks to go around peak hours. Another thing is that it can get pretty loud, so if you are not a fan of loud noises, I would recommend bringing headphones.

    Blueberry muffin is the bomb!

Good coffee, but the vanilla latte was very sweet. I appreciated the almond and coconut milk options. They also have sandwiches and pastries. I tried their blueberry muffin and I have to say it is the best I've ever had. It was very fresh and moist and perfect amount of sweetness. I think I might clean them out of blueberry muffins when I get a chance next time.

Kerckhoff Coffee House is probably the busiest coffee shop on the UCLA campus. It is the most central, the most well known, and "serves the best coffee" according to students (although other coffee shops serve the exact same brand coffee). I love going to Kerckhoffee (as the students like to nickname it). The staff is awesome, and the atmosphere is great too! This place is usually packed during weekdays since students flood the place, so good luck if you're trying to find a spot to study while you're there! The line is also usually long, but they're pretty well staffed and take orders relatively quickly. They have great cold brew, nitro cold brew, and you can also never go wrong with a classic latte. I just wish they had oat milk as an option! Anyway, check out Kerckhoff Coffee House. Btw, I'm a sucker for the designs of the cups.

No shortcut through Kerckhoff is complete without the tantalizing aromas of ambrosia wafting over from this coffee house. I remember my first memory of this place was redeeming my free coupon for an iced drink that I got from the ASUCLA tour during orientation. After that, it has been that place that I always pass by and can never decide whether I should grab something to drink or not. Too many decisions. On top of deciding my major I have to deal with this? The inside has a decent amount of seating, but since this place is a popular study spot, you rarely find seating inside. Outside, the patio chairs and tables are dirty and uncomfortable. Not much else to say about that. The workers here are always extremely friendly! I never feel that bad about selling my soul away here. On certain nights, you can hear a band playing inside, or try your luck with some poetry!

This is a very nice looking Cafe on the 2nd floor of Kerckhoff Hall on the main UCLA campus. The building is very impressive and historic. The interior of the Cafe has alot of character with antique looking tables, chairs and medieval style windows. There is also large courtyard seating next to the Cafe. The Coffee, mixed blend, I had was very good as were the raspberry and cinnamon pastries. This Cafe is very conducive to studying and meeting people in a warm, classical atmosphere. The Staff is also excellent.

Also, sometimes in the afternoon, the milk teas aren't available (when it's too late to brew more tea). The matcha here is creamy and earthy yet sweet. Most other matcha places in West LA have watery matcha, so I'm glad the matcha here is better. They use lactose-free milk by default. The shop is small and there is no seating inside. There are just two large tables outside, so you'll likely need to sit around strangers. Service is good, but a bit slow because of how small the store is. Keep an eye out for good deals!! So I finally got to try Le Phant on my 3rd visit attempt, and discovered that they reduced their menu by half.....which was really disappointing to see after waiting in line to order at the kiosk. Nothing posted at the door about the reduced menu. Found out later by looking online to see that one of the owners was on mat leave. Very small interior. The drinks were very good and exactly what you'd expect from a quality café. But the food presentation--wow! It completely exceeded my expectations. We ordered the avocado toast, the breakfast burrito, and the egg on brioche. Every dish was beautifully plated, garnished with edible flowers, and served with a fresh, delicious salad. I honestly wasn't expecting this level of presentation from a café. The portions were generous as well, leaving us completely satisfied. I also tried one of their pastries that reminded me of a cinnamon roll. It was enjoyable, though as a professional baker and pastry chef, I felt the pastries were the one area with room for improvement. In my opinion, they seemed to prioritize elegance and originality over achieving the best texture and flavor. Even so, they were still good, and I appreciated the creativity. Overall, this was an outstanding breakfast experience. Beautiful presentation, delicious food, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere. I would gladly return.

It didn't have a strong astringency but tasted noticeably grassy. I do tend to like sweeter drinks, so the matcha being on the bitter side only enhanced the grassy notes for me. The cold foam was also not as nutty/caramelized as I had hoped; the flavours got lost in the rest of the drink, as if it never existed in the first place. Came by in the last hour or two before closing on a Saturday and thankfully didn't have to wait in line. If I had to wait in line for the matcha, it would have definitely knocked down my rating. I'm sure there are other redeeming qualities of this shop as many customers had laptops set up to work. Maybe coffee was a better option :/

I arrived around 6:13 AM, 17 minutes before opening, after dropping a friend off nearby for her work at Trader Joe's in Westwood who starts @6am. Usually when I have an early work call, I go to Bluestone Café because of the ambiance I've experienced before as a former UCLA Student, who is now Recently Graduated Btw. I asked Angel if it was okay to sit and get set up while HE finished opening, I also offered to help if needed, and he was friendly and understanding, and I only set up 1 table because it was out of the kindest of my heart AND he was awesome. Not even 6 minutes passed by but, I could tell he's a solid, smile oriented customer service worker with a big heart. A few minutes later, at 6:22am Carol approached me and told me to leave, after I had just ordered because Angel was treating me with 5 star hospitality! The restaurant was not open yet, AND I completely understand that a business has opening hours, and I would have had no problem waiting outside if that had been communicated respectfully by the "owner." The issue was the way the owner of Bluestone Café, Carol, spoke to me as her claiming she's "the owner" because she knows people in the district? Ok carol. She raised her voice, treated me like I was a problem, and made me feel extremely unwelcome. I left upset because the situation did not need to be handled that way. Angel, however, remained kind and professional, and I want to make clear that this review is not about him. Angel provided excellent customer service. "I was a disturbance," allegedly though to Carol when I asked why she raised her voice at me like that. No where near was I about to counter her asking me to leave originally, just wanted breakfast before my call and I was willing to wait, Angel knows it... but Carol? Man, she's lucky I didn't give a WORSE review than this one. By the way, this is my 3rd yelp review in the last 5 years, so when I gave the option for her not to act so disrespectful, she turned it up 10x. Completely unacceptable to treat anyone that way, and trust me I know the homeless problem in LA is bad. Hello I was in burberrys and a UCLA sweatshirt with my Tumi Backpack labeled "CB" (my initials), and in my 1300 european shoes I bought also known as burberrys... anyways I confusingly and surprisingly stated "I mean should I leave a 1star review?" Because I was astonished that the owner was continually being so disrespectful, but Carol responded by saying "I'm just going to counter it don't worry, we'll handle it"... who's we Carol? Overall, I was very disappointed by how the owner handled the situation. A simple, respectful explanation would have been enough. Instead, I felt disrespected and embarrassed, and I will not be returning to this location because of CAROL. :) However, Angel, and your coworkers, YOU guys are AWESOME for real. Food is good as always.
